Smart meter is an integral part of our state smart grid, which involves the interests of millions of households. Reliability evaluation based on operating data is an important problem in the implementation of smart grid operation and maintenance management. In view of the data characteristics of the same type and the same batch of smart meter with multiple Type-I censored data, i.e., unequal time censored data, this paper introduces Weibull distribution to model its failure time data. Then, this paper applies the maximum likelihood method to estimate unknown parameters of the distribution. Moreover, the reliability evaluation model of the smart meter is established, and partial failure data of meters from one region is collected to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
