Integration Pattern of Ulul Albab Values in Research-Based Learning

This research aims to determine the internalization of ulul albab value in research-based learning. This research was conducted because the research-based learning model is one of the suitable learning models for Generation Z. This suitability arises because students learn to solve problems systematically and methodologically in research-based learning. This model is based on the goal of internalizing the ulul albab, which is the main characteristic of Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang students. This research was conducted at the Islamic banking study program, Faculty of Economics, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. This research is a qualitative case study because it is conducted on a particular entity. The results of this study indicate that the research-based learning model can foster student curiosity, search for appropriate theories, search for data, solve problems according to the data, and draw conclusions. This result also aligns with the value of ulul albab; spiritual depth, moral majesty, breadth of knowledge, and professional maturity.

Optimization of Student Executive Body Organization Through Human Resource Performance

Universities are very important places in individual development, not only in terms of academics but also in the development of non-academic potential. This must be done so that one does not become a student with minimal knowledge, minimal experience, and minimal skills. Student organizations also serve as a platform for the interests and talents of active students on campus. This research aims to identify the roles of motivation, training, and organizational culture in improving the performance of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Economics at the Islamic University of Jakarta. A qualitative approach, utilizing interviews and observations with BEM members to gain insights into their motivation, training experiences, and the prevailing organizational culture. The findings indicate that a strong motivational framework, relevant training programs, and a positive organizational culture significantly contribute to the productivity and engagement of BEM members. With a qualitative approach, this research involved 4 subjects who were previously active in the BEM FE, conducting in-depth interviews and using thematic analysis. The research results show that these factors play a crucial role in optimizing the organization of the Student Executive Board (BEM) to achieve the organization's goals efficiently and effectively. Through human resource performance, it shows that motivation, training, and organizational culture play a crucial role in enhancing the performance and effectiveness of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Economics at the Islamic University of Jakarta. By building strong motivation, providing relevant training, and developing a positive culture, the Student Executive Board (BEM) can function as a significant agent of change for students and the faculty as a whole.

The Role of 'Financial Planning for Beginners' Seminar in Improving Financial Literacy and Planning for Beginners

In today's increasingly complex economic environment, the importance of financial literacy and effective financial planning has become paramount for individuals looking to secure their financial future. Financial literacy is closely linked to financial management, enabling individuals to understand key financial concepts, assess risks and manage their finances efficiently. This report examines the role of financial literacy in improving financial decision-making and planning, especially for beginners. By providing knowledge through the “Financial Planning for Beginners” seminar, organized by the Faculty of Economics of Universitas Negeri Jakarta in collaboration with the Indonesia Stock Exchange Gallery and Mirae Asset Sekuritas, we explore how such initiatives contribute to simplifying financial concepts for beginners. The seminar aims to enhance financial literacy, enabling participants to make informed financial decisions and plan effectively for a financially secure future. It also focuses on encouraging active engagement and learning through expert presentations and interactive Q&A sessions.

Особенности развития навыков антиманипулятивного поведения у сотрудников уголовно-исполнительной системы

The article examines the subjective factors of psychological readiness of employees of the penal system to resist manipulation. The results of an empirical study of the assertiveness of of the penal systems employees at the stage of university training and during their professional activities are presented. The psychological features of the Self-concept of employees of the penal enforcement system are shown. The study involved 75 employees of the penal correction system who study under higher education programs at the Academy of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia at the Faculties of Law, Economics, and Psychology and Probation, and 70 employees of the Federal Penitentiary Institution «Correctional colony No. 2» of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Ryazan region, who carry out their professional activities in the security department, at the center for labor adaptation of convicts, in the department of educational work with convicts. The psychodiagnostic tools selected for the study make it possible to measure and analyze those personal qualities of the respondents that ensure their psychological readiness to resist manipulation by convicts. The study used the test questionnaire "Assertiveness Research" (modified by V. Kaponi, T.Novak) and the questionnaire "Self-assessment research using the Demo-Rubinstein method" (modified by A.M.Parishioners). The directions of psychological support for the process of developing anti-manipulative behavior skills are substantiated: expanding the zone of awareness regarding one's own values and beliefs, emotions and feelings; developing emotional intelligence, the ability to manage one's emotions; developing critical thinking; strengthening self-esteem, developing internal pillars of employees.

Factor Analysis of the Effects of Education Systems During the Covid-19 Pandemic Process on Manisa Celal Bayar University Students

This study aims to examine the opinions and thoughts of students studying at Manisa Celal Bayar University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in the 2022-2023 academic year regarding distance and face-to-face education systems during and after the Covid-19 pandemic process, by factor analysis.The findings obtained as a result of the factor analysis were examined and interpretations were made. The data used in the study was collected by survey technique. Analyzes were carried out using the SPSS-22 statistical package program and results were obtained using explanatory factor analysis, one of the multivariate statistical techniques.The number of students who will participate in the survey was determined by taking into account their departments using the stratified sampling technique, provided that they took courses with the distance education model during the Covid-19 pandemic and continued their education with the face-to-face education model after the pandemic. In this way, 342 of the 4518 students studying at the faculty were determined as the sample and the study was conducted with 342 students who fully responded to the survey. The findings obtained as a result of the explanatory factor analysis applied Accordingly, it has been observed that the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic process and subsequent education systems on students are explained by two factors. The first of these two factors is named "Positive Effects of Face-to-Face Education" and the second is called "Negative Effects of Face-to-Face Education". These named factors explain 69% of the total variance.

Socialization and Digital Marketing Assistance to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Squid Goyang By Applying Tamansiswa Teachings "TRI N (Niteni, Nirokke, Nambahi)"

Students of the Management Study Programme, Faculty of Economics, Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University (UST) held a community service activity with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) partner ‘Cumi Bergoyang’ located in the Alun-alun Kidul area of Yogyakarta. This activity aims to apply digital marketing to Cumi Bergoyang MSMEs in accordance with being able to compete with other businesses and reach a wider market share, this counseling and mentoring activity also applies the Tamansiswa Teachings, namely Tri N (Niteni, Nirokke, Nambahi) in helping MSMEs understand and implement digital marketing concepts. The method used in this abdimas activity is Participatory Learning and Action (PLA), which is given in accordance with the conditions of the partners and the needs of the problems faced by the abdimas partners, then the abdimas team provides solutions in the form of training programmes that involve hands-on practice using social media platforms Instagram and Tiktok as a means of promotion used in business activities. The implication of this abdimas activity is that MSME partners ‘Cumi Bergoyang’ can increase revenue turnover and maximise promotional reach in an increasingly competitive digital era.

Case studies in business education: an investigation of a learner-friendly approach

Purpose Case studies are widely used in business education as an action-oriented teaching method to develop students’ problem-solving skills. While they are popular in the classroom, the authors know little about how best to design and use case studies and whether they improve students’ learning experience and outcomes. This paper aims to investigate whether pedagogically developed case studies lead to better student learning outcomes than do traditional case studies. Design/methodology/approach This large-scale, international quantitative research surveyed students (N = 159) at four major faculties of business and economics in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland to determine whether integrating pedagogical principles into the design phase of teaching cases and adhering to pedagogical principles in case study design affected students’ learning outcomes. Findings This study finds that pedagogically developed case studies have a more positive impact on student learning compared to traditional case studies. In addition, the authors found that students who have had previous experience with case-study work and who have positive perceptions of it had even better learning outcomes compared to students who have had no previous experience with case-study work and have negative perceptions of it. Originality/value Anecdotal accounts of using case studies in business education suggest that they have a positive impact on the teaching-learning process and learning outcomes, yet very few studies have surveyed students themselves to evaluate whether case-study teaching and learning does in fact lead to better learning outcomes. By empirically showing that teaching with pedagogically developed case studies leads to better learning outcomes, the study suggests that developing case studies using these methods can improve student learning. In addition, the study suggests that students with no prior experience with case studies or with negative prior experiences may need greater preparation and support to fully benefit from case-study work.

Budget Disclosure in Crowdfunding: Information Asymmetry and Cost Transparency

Problem definition: This paper investigates how a crowdfunding campaign’s voluntary disclosure of sensitive cost information affects its funding performance on Kickstarter—a mainstream, primarily reward-based crowdfunding platform. Instead of enhancing a campaign’s marketing traits, project budget as a novel information-provision tool reminds the crowd of the behind-the-scenes operations for developing and executing a project. This resembles the radical practice of cost transparency recently observed in the retail industry and studied experimentally in the literature. We also separate the disclosure effect on reward seeking versus altruistic pledges and examine how it varies with the structure of the cost items (fixed versus variable costs). Methodology/results: Our data collection follows Kickstarter’s rollout of the Project Budget tool in 2019. The project-level raw data are preprocessed via coarsened exact matching to match projects with and without budgets. We show that the main channel through which budget provision improves funding performance is via attracting additional funding, not by cannibalizing competing projects. Because of the voluntary nature of budget provision, we address the resulting endogeneity issue using peer average-style instruments. Budget provision on average increases funding performance by over 100%, which is more effective than many information-provision tools studied. Interestingly, this funding improvement comes from an increased number of backers (width), not from a higher pledge per backer (depth), and from a considerably higher number of altruistic pledges, not from more reward-seeking pledges. Further, a higher fixed-cost (over total cost) ratio, which is indicative of a higher profit margin, significantly reduces the benefit but does not make disclosure backfire. Managerial implications: Showing the costs to customers can be highly effective in business settings where trust between stakeholders is critical, which implies a promising generalization to donation-based crowdfunding. Our results can also be used to guide a sequential rollout of the Project Budget feature across campaign categories and promote adoption rates. Funding: X. Digital transformation in the recruitment process: Revealing Gen Z's interest in career opportunities

This study aims to analyze the influence of social media use, technology utilization, and e-recruitment on the interest of Generation Z in career opportunities in applying for jobs. Gen Z has a high reliance on technology and social media, which has an impact on the way they search for and apply for jobs. The method used in this study is a quantitative method. The data source in this study uses primary data. The data collection technique uses a google form questionnaire. The population in this study is active students who take their TA thesis. Even 2023/2024 at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Prof. Moestopo University (Religious). The sample in this study is 30 people. The sampling method is random sampling. The data analysis in this study uses multiple linear regression using validity test, reliability test, classical assumption test and t-hypothesis test and determination coefficient test. The results of the study show that the use of social media, the use of technology, and e-recruitment have a positive influence on Generation Z's interest in career opportunities in applying for jobs. Social media plays a role in disseminating vacancy information widely. Generation Z relies heavily on social media as a source of information and a means to explore career opportunities. Technology, such as online job search platforms, social media, and digital communication tools, provides easy access and quick information, thereby increasing their interest in finding and applying for jobs. Generation Z tends to be more interested in the recruitment process that is carried out online compared to conventional methods.

The Influence of Student Adaptability and Academic Self-Efficacy on Academic Buoyancy

This study aims to determine the effect of adaptibility and academic self-efficacy on academic buoyancy in students of the Faculty of Economics, University of X Samarinda. This research method using quantitative methods. The subjects of this study were 103 students of the Faculty of Economics, University of X Samarinda who were selected through simple random sampling technique. Data collection methods used are adaptibility scale, academic self-efficacy and academic buoyancy. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis. The collected data were analyzed with the help of the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) program version 26 for windows. The results of the study show that: (1) there is a significant effect of self-adjustment and academic self-efficacy on academic buoyancy with a calculated F value = 149,428 > F table 3.09 and p value = 0.000 and has an R2 influence contribution of 74.9%; (2) there is a significant effect of self-adjustment on academic buoyancy with a coefficient of beta (β) = 0.269, t count = 2.600 > t table 1.984 and p = 0.011 (p > 0.05); (3) there is a significant effect of academic self-efficacy on academic buoyancy with a coefficient of beta (β) = 0.621, t count = 6.001 > t table and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05).

ANALISIS PREFERENSI PENGGUNA TERHADAP HARGA DAN KEMUDAHAN PENGGUNAAN DALAM BERTRANSAKSI PRODUK KECANTIKAN PADA APLIKASI SHOPEE

This research aims to understand Shopee app users' preferences regarding price and ease of use of the app in determining purchasing decisions for beauty products. The research method used is descriptive quantitative, utilizing primary data through the distribution of online questionnaires to 675 students from the Faculty of Economics and Business, class of 2022. From the total number of students, there were 125 respondents, and only 54 respondents met the sample criteria. The research results show that respondents' preferences for the Price variable yielded a "good" rating with an average score of 4.15, as the prices on the Shopee app are considered more competitive than similar apps. For the user-friendliness variable, respondents' preferences yielded a "good" rating with an average score of 4.16 due to the ease of product search, payment system options, and Shopee displaying recommended products based on user search results. This research reinforces other studies regarding the influence of price and ease of use of the Shopee application on purchasing decisions, especially for beauty products.

This research aims to determine the influence of self-efficacy on work readiness in final year students of the Management Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Makassar State University. This research used quantitative methods involving 65 female students who were actively studying at the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Makassar State University class of 2020. Data was collected using a questionnaire in the form of a Likert scale. Data analysis in this research uses simple linear regression with the help of a program microsoft excel 2007 and program software SPSS statistics 20. The results of this study show that self-efficacy positively and significantly influences work readiness in final year students of the Management Study Program at Makassar State University.

Implementasi Kode Etik Mahasiswa dalam Berbusana di Fakultas Ekonomi dan Ilmu Sosial Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau

This research aims to determine the implementation of the student code of ethics in dressing at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, Sultan Syarif Kasim State Islamic University, Riau. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach which is strengthened by the results of interviews. The research results show that female students have received socialization about the dress code of ethics from lecturers when they first entered campus. The dress code of ethics that is most often violated by female students is tucking their clothes into their skirts. The parties who often reprimand students who violate the dress code of ethics are lecturers. Female students who violate the dress code of ethics still do not receive strict sanctions because they still take the form of a verbal warning and are told to go home to change clothes according to the code of ethics.

Pengaruh Kemudahan Transaksi dan Layanan Terintegrasi pada Keputusan Penggunaan E-Wallet GoPay

This study aims to determine whether transaction ease and integrated services influence the decision to use the GoPay e-wallet. The independent variables in this research are transaction ease (X1) and integrated services (X2), while the dependent variable is the decision to use GoPay (Y). The population of this study consists of undergraduate and diploma students (S1 and D4) from the Faculty of Economics at Universitas Negeri Jakarta. The sampling technique employed was random sampling, with primary data collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire. The data obtained were analyzed using Stata 13 software through classical assumption tests and multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that, partially, transaction ease and integrated services do not significantly influence the decision to use GoPay. However, simultaneously, these variables collectively affect the decision to use GoPay.

The role of tourist satisfaction in mediating destination loyalty: Empirical evidence on natural dye batik in Indonesia

Tourist satisfaction shows the satisfaction that arises because visitors feel satisfied and happy after visiting a destination. This study aims to examine the role of tourist satisfaction in influencing destination image, emotional experience, and value perception towards destination loyalty of natural dye batik in Indonesia. The research uses a quantitative approach in an uncontrolled environment, with individuals as the unit of analysis. The population consisted of domestic and foreign tourist respondents aged 21 years and over who visited the natural dye batik village, Bayat, Klaten, Indonesia. Data collection was carried out using an online survey method, questionnaires were sent to selected respondents using online Google Forms. The data were collected comprehensively from 200 respondents for descriptive demographic profile analysis. The hypotheses were tested using partial least squares modelling analysis. The results of the study showed a positive influence of destination image, emotional experience, and perceived value on tourist satisfaction (Beta = .423, p < .000; Beta = .087, p < .045, Beta = .368, p < .000). Likewise, destination image, perceived value, and tourist satisfaction have a positive effect on destination loyalty (Beta = .306, p < .000; Beta = .198, p < .009, and Beta = .325, p = .000). This shows that the better the destination image and value perception, and the higher the emotional experience, the higher the tourist satisfaction, and with increasing tourist satisfaction, destination loyalty also increases. The Role of Business Ethics and Azarine Brand Popularity in Building Consumer Trust

This study investigates the interplay between business ethics and brand popularity in shaping consumer trust, focusing on the Azarine brand within the beauty industry. Maintaining consumer trust is vital for business development and sustainability in an increasingly competitive market. Business ethics encompasses principles such as transparency, honesty, and corporate responsibility, which are crucial for fostering consumer trust. The research highlights a recent incident involving Azarine, where allegations of over-claiming product efficacy led to significant consumer skepticism, despite the brand's strong market presence. Through a qualitative approach, data were collected from students at the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Negeri Medan, via questionnaires designed to elicit opinions on the impact of business ethics and brand popularity on consumer trust. The findings indicate that while brand popularity can attract initial consumer interest, long-term trust heavily relies on ethical practices and product quality. Respondents unanimously agreed that adherence to ethical standards is fundamental in building and maintaining consumer trust, particularly in the beauty sector where product claims directly impact health and safety. The study reveals that ethical violations, such as misleading product claims, can severely damage consumer confidence. Many respondents indicated they would discontinue using Azarine products due to the over-claim incident, viewing transparency and honesty as essential criteria for selecting beauty products. However, a small number expressed willingness to give the brand a second chance, contingent upon Azarine taking responsibility for its actions and improving transparency in its communications. Conversely, while brand popularity can serve as an initial draw, the study concludes that it is insufficient to sustain consumer trust in the face of ethical breaches. Respondents noted a decline in Azarine's popularity following the incident, emphasizing that a brand’s reputation is not solely built on recognition but also on ethical integrity. Ultimately, this research underscores the necessity for brands like Azarine to enhance their ethical standards and transparency to rebuild consumer trust and maintain a competitive edge. Recommendations for future research include exploring the relationship between product quality, innovation, and consumer trust in greater depth. By understanding these dynamics, companies can develop more effective strategies that align ethical practices with consumer expectations, thereby fostering long-term relationships built on trust and credibility

Moderation of Financial Reward on Career Interest in Becoming a Public Accountant

The aim of this research is to empirically test the effect of self-efficacy, job market considerations, and parental effect as well as the existence of financial rewards in moderating these effects on career interest in becoming a public accountant. The population in this study were active undergraduate students of Accounting study program semester 7 at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Udayana University and Undiknas Denpasar, totaling 477 people. The sample in this study used the convenience sampling method totaling 218 samples. Collecting data in this study used a questionnaire, then the data was analyzed using structural equation modelling with SmartPLS 3.0. This research found that the higher the self-efficacy that students have and the job market considerations of a career, the higher the student's interest in choosing a career as a public accountant. The greater the effect of parents in providing advice and support, the higher the interest in becoming a public accountant. Financial rewards strengthen student interest because they serve as motivation to earn a decent income to meet life's needs.

Perceiving Duolingo beyond the classroom: insights from non-English major students in higher education

This study investigates how Duolingo can serve as a supplementary tool for English learning among non-English major students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Buton, focusing on students in the Faculty of Economics. The research aims to understand students’ perceptions of Duolingo’s effectiveness and the challenges they face when using the app beyond the classroom. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative and qualitative data gathered from 120 first-year students over a six-week period. Quantitative data, collected through surveys, measured students’ usage patterns, motivation, and engagement levels, while qualitative data from open-ended responses provided insights into specific challenges and motivations related to Duolingo’s gamified features, such as XP, leaderboards, and levels. The findings indicate that Duolingo’s gamification elements contributed to increased motivation and engagement, particularly among students balancing academic and personal commitments. However, students faced challenges, including limited internet access, time constraints, and difficulty with advanced vocabulary and grammar. This study concludes that Duolingo is an effective supplementary tool for enhancing language learning outside the classroom, though additional support may be required to address connectivity issues and advanced language content.
