Optimal Deep Neural Network Modified by Advanced Seasons Optimizer for Classification of Olympic Sports Images

Sports image classification has gained increasing significance in various domains, including athlete training, event management, and broadcasting. Nonetheless, accurately classifying these images remains a formidable challenge due to factors such as variations in lighting conditions, pose, and attire. This paper proposes an advanced deep learning approach to address this issue. The proposed method uses a modified Inception-V4 (IV4) architecture, which has exhibited remarkable success in image classification tasks. To further enhance the performance of the IV4 model, an advanced version of the seasons optimizer (ASO), a potent optimization algorithm, has been introduced, which adjusts the learning rate during training. This modified optimizer enables the IV4 model to converge more rapidly and achieve higher accuracy. An evaluation of the proposed method has been conducted using a comprehensive dataset comprising Olympic sports images. The experimental results demonstrate significant enhancements over existing approaches, attaining superior performance across multiple evaluation metrics. These findings underscore the potential of combining cutting-edge deep neural networks with advanced optimization techniques for the precise and efficient classification of sports images.

Lumina Eventix: OPTIMIZING EVENT MANAGEMENT THROUGH DIGITAL PLATFORMS

Enhancing Public Relations (PR) as the Focus of Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) for CRG Indonesia

This study investigates methods to improve Public Relations (PR) within Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) for CRG Indonesia, paying attention to the key challenges encountered in media relations, event management, and community engagement/Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Through conducting qualitative analysis and interacting with stakeholders, the research has found that there is a requirement for content which can be tailored to specific locations, a more solid sustainability message, and enhanced digital interaction. The findings show that CRG’s current public relations strategies have to be better aligned with local sensitivities and company goals. The recommended enhancements involve establishing more robust media connections, implementing thorough event organization, and integrating corporate social responsibility initiatives to cultivate community confidence. The implementation plan utilizes digital platforms, establishes explicit CSR objectives, and adheres to a comprehensive timeline based on the AISAS (Attention, Interest, Search, Action, Share) model. New perspective on sustainable practices in the events industry

PurposeThe aim of this study is to systematically review scientific research on sustainability in the event industry to understand the current state of affairs and provide a roadmap for future studies. By combining the topics of the event industry and sustainability, it aims to thematically analyze the scientific literature in this area.Design/methodology/approachThis study analyzed 1,710 studies in the Web of Science (WoS) database as of June 1, 2024. The keywords “event industry” and “sustainability” were used to search for academic articles, review articles, and conference proceedings. The data were analyzed geographically, thematically, and temporally. Cross-national research contributions, document types, researcher profiles, and interdisciplinary relationships were examined in detail.FindingsThe analysis shows that sustainability is an increasingly important issue in the events industry, with countries such as the USA, China and Australia leading the way. Most research is in the form of articles, with conference proceedings and reviews playing an important role. There is a particular concentration in categories such as “management,” “hospitality, leisure, sport and tourism” and “sustainability science.” Even during the pandemic, there has been a significant increase in research activity, underscoring the importance of this topic on a global scale. Researchers have made significant scientific contributions in this area. These interdisciplinary studies have revealed important intersections between environmental sustainability and event management.Originality/valueThis study provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of research on the event industry and sustainability, illustrating the interdisciplinary nature of the field and the geographical distribution of research activity. A systematic review of the literature consolidates the body of knowledge in this field and provides directions for future research. This study highlights the need for more in-depth and comprehensive research on sustainability, and provides an important framework for strengthening the links between event management and sustainability.

Dermatologic adverse events caused by biologic treatments - Pathogenesis and management.

Biologics are approved for various dermatologic, allergic, rheumatic, and gastroenterologic inflammatory diseases, as well as for numerous malignancies. The dermatologic adverse events from treatment with biologics may resemble primary inflammatory diseases but differ in pathogenesis. In this article, we describe five different pathogenic mechanisms of dermatologic adverse events. By studying these mechanisms, we hope to gain valuable insights into the pathogenesis of primary inflammatory diseases. In addition, in this article, we provide recommendations for the treatment and management of the dermatological adverse events induced by biologics.

EVENT-MANAGEMENT AS A TOOL FOR ORGANIZING SPECIAL EVENTS

A special event is an important concept because it participates in globalization processes, contributing to the spread of cultural practices and standardized examples of behavior. This study aims to analyze the essence of the concept of special events and determine the role of event management in the organization of special events. A special event is a short-term or long-term project with a specific goal and target audience. Individuals or groups (often non-governmental and governmental organizations) organize such an event. Non-governmental organizations are commercial enterprises, agencies, sports clubs, non-profit organizations, humanitarian and religious organizations, political parties and organizations. These organizations have significant financial resources at their disposal, which they spend on promotions, raffles, concerts, parades, advertising campaigns, etc. Special events by type can be divided into celebrations, celebrations and commemorations, cultural events, sporting events, fashion shows, religious events, political events, educational events, and events related to an action, service, person, or enterprise. The classification of special events was also systematized according to other characteristics (by the degree of abstraction and generalization, the method of financing, depending on the performer-organizer, the target audience, the type and scale of the event, according the frequency of the event). It has been proven that event management becomes an effective tool for the manager of social and cultural activities, which can be used as a means of developing the sphere of leisure, and as a management tool to achieve certain goals. It was determined that the task of event management is the systematization of stages, processes, and steps that are an integral part of the organization of events, including special events. The key stages of the organization of special events were analyzed and the features of each of these stages were considered. Further areas of research will be the analysis of the features of event marketing and marketing of special events.

Visiting Friends and Relatives Travel: Unveiling Hidden Drivers Behind Festival Attendance and Experience

Employing data from a 2019 attendee survey at the Taste of Little Italy Festival, Toronto, it reveals that 23.3% of respondents were engaged in VFR travel, exhibiting higher spending, yet often providing lower evaluations of their festival experience. The nuanced relationship between VFR travel, spending patterns, and festival experience opens a new avenue for exploration for festival researchers and practitioners. This note aims to encourage festival researchers and practitioners to consider the implications of VFR. A more comprehensive understanding of this topic could reveal strategies to engage this stable demand source, influencing not only event management strategies but also enhancing cultural engagement and community attachment. The note underscores the opportunity for festivals to engage residents and their visitors to optimize both economic and experiential outcomes.

Cost-Effectiveness Analysis of Axicabtagene Ciloleucel vs. Standard of Care in Second-Line Treatment for Relapsed/Refractory Large B-Cell Lymphoma in Spain.

To estimate the cost-effectiveness of axi-cel vs. salvage immunochemotherapy followed by high-dose chemotherapy and autologous stem-cell transplantation (HDT+ASCT) for responders to second-line treatment for relapsed/refractory (R/R) large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL). A partitioned survival mixture-cure model comprising three health states was used to estimate the costs, life years gained (LYG), and quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) accumulated over a lifetime horizon. Overall survival, event-free survival, and time to the next treatment with axi-cel and HDT+ASCT were derived from the ZUMA-7 study. The total costs (EUR, 2022) included drug acquisition and administration, ASCT, subsequent treatment, disease and adverse event management, and palliative care. The unitary costs were derived from local databases and the literature. A 3% discount rate was applied to the costs and outcomes. Compared with HDT+ASCT, axi-cel provided higher LYG per patient (10.00 vs. 8.28 LYG/patient) and greater QALYs gained per patient (7.85 vs. 6.04 QALY/patient). The lifetime total costs were 343,581 EUR/patient with axi-cel vs. 257,994 EUR/patient with IQT+ASCT. The incremental cost-effectiveness ratio of axi-cel vs. HDT+ASCT was 49,627 EUR/LYG, and the incremental cost-utility ratio was 47,309 EUR/QALY. Sensitivity analyses confirmed the robustness of the model. Axi-cel is a potentially cost-effective alternative to HDT+ASCT for the treatment of R/R DLBCL in Spain.

The escalating risk of cyber threats requires continuous advances in security monitoring techniques. This survey paper provides a comprehensive overview of recent research into novel methods for cyber threat detection, encompassing diverse approaches such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, behavioral analysis and anomaly detection. Machine learning plays a central role in cyber threat detection, highlighting the effectiveness of deep neural networks in identifying evolving threats. Their adaptability to changing attack patterns is emphasized, underlining their importance for real-time security monitoring. In parallel, ensemble learning is explored, combining multiple models to improve overall detection accuracy and create a robust defense against a spectrum of cyber threats. The literature reviewed highlights the importance of behavioral analysis, with a novel approach that integrates user behaviour profiling with anomaly detection. This has proven effective in identifying suspicious activity within a network, particularly insider threats and stealthy attacks. Another behavioral framework using User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) is presented for enhanced anomaly detection, highlighting the importance of context-aware monitoring in improving threat detection accuracy. Collaborative defense mechanisms emerge as a major focus of the research papers reviewed, exploring the potential of sharing threat information between organisations to enhance collective security monitoring. Their findings underscore the importance of a collaborative approach to staying ahead of rapidly evolving cyber threats. Some types of cyber-attacks are also analysed in the context of a security operations centre (SOC) monitoring environment using a security information and event management (SIEM) tool - Splunk. In conclusion, this survey paper synthesizes recent advances in cyber threat detection methods in security monitoring that integrate machine learning, behavioral analysis, and collaborative defense strategies. As cyber threats continue to evolve, these novel methods provide valuable insights for researchers, practitioners, and organisations seeking to strengthen their cybersecurity defenses. This concise overview emphasises the multi-dimensional approach required to secure digital ecosystems, providing a concise yet comprehensive guide to modern cyber threat detection strategies.

Dairy farmer income, working time, and antimicrobial use under different dry cow therapy protocols

Mastitis is one of the most common diseases of dairy cattle. It has a high impact on farm economy, farmers' working time, and antimicrobial usage (AMU). Selective dry cow therapy (SDCT) is an effective means of reducing AMU without negatively affecting udder health. The objective of our study was to evaluate the impact of SDCT implementation on farmer's income, working time, and AMU, using a bioeconomic model. A stochastic dairy simulation model (DairyHealthSim) based on a weekly model was used to simulate herd dynamics, reproduction, milk production, culling decisions, health outcomes, and the management of health events. A specific module was developed for the simulation of quarter-level intramammary infection (IMI) acquisition and elimination during the lactation and dry-off periods, and 25 different farm settings were defined to represent herds with various udder health situations. We then defined 20 scenarios of SDCT by combining both the use of different thresholds of somatic cell count and milk bacteriology for treatment allocation and the use of internal teat sealant (ITS). All SDCT protocols had a low impact on farmer's income, and we identified some protocols with a positive farm gross margin (up to 15.83 CA$/dried- cow). We also found that adding an ITS to all cows led to greater economic gain. The application of SDCT had a low impact on farmers' working time, except when milk bacteriology was used for decision-making. Antimicrobial treatment to all cows above 200,000 cells/mL at last control, with the use of ITS on all cows, seems a good choice in most dairy farms. These findings could be used to convince farmers to adopt this strategy at dry-off.

Real-world study: Impact of multidisciplinary management of apalutamide-associated adverse events in prostate cancer.

To analyse the adverse events (AEs) associated with apalutamide and the impact of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) protocol on its management at a tertiary care hospital in a real-world setting. This was an observational, prospective, cohort study based on real-world evidence at the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. Includes patients diagnosed with metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC) or high-risk nonmetastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (nmCRPC) and who started treatment with apalutamide between May 2019 and March 2023 in a real-world clinical setting. Of the 121 patients treated with apalutamide, 52.1% experienced an AE, 19.8% experienced temporarily interruption or a reduction in the dose of apalutamide, and 13.2% discontinued treatment due to AEs. Without MDT protocol (49 patients), 24.5% of patients had to temporarily interrupt or reduce the dose of apalutamide due to AEs, with a median time from the start of treatment of 10.1 months, and 24.5% discontinued apalutamide due to AEs, with a median time from the start of treatment of 3.1 months. Meanwhile, whit MDT protocol (72 patients), 16.7% of patients had to temporarily interrupt or reduce the dose of apalutamide due to AEs, with a median time from the start of treatment of 1.6 months, and 5.6% discontinued apalutamide due to AEs, with a median time from the start of treatment of 4 months. The risk reduction associated with treatment discontinuation was statistically significant (p-value = 0.003). This study highlights the importance of MDT management of AEs associated with apalutamide to reduce treatment discontinuation.

Enhance the management of perioperative crisis events, improve the safety and quality of pediatric anesthesia

Perioperative crisis events refer to unexpected seriously life-threatening when the patient is during or after surgery, and require rapid identification, evaluation, and management by clinical teams to minimize harm. The pediatric anesthesia management during perioperative period is special and challenging for anesthesiologists, requiring professional technical and non-technical skills. The article mainly elaborates on the incidence and risk factors of pediatric anesthesia crisis events during perioperative period and introduces the concept of anesthesia crisis resource management and strategies. The anesthesiologist team needs to adopt a crisis resource management strategy, taking a typical crisis event of malignant hyperthermia as an example, including identification of crisis signs immediately, termination of trigger drugs rapidly, intravenous injection of the special drug dantrolene, physical cooling, and symptomatic support treatment, seeking assistance from other teams actively, recording and feeding back. This study aims to improve the cognitive decision-making ability and teamwork ability of anesthesiologists and their teams, effectively preventing and responding to potential crisis events effectively, and ensuring the safety of pediatric patients during perioperative period.

Do Satisfied Visitors Intend to Revisit a Large Sports Event? A Case Study of a Large Sports Event In Indonesia

Abstract Only a few studies on large sports tourism explore motorsport events such as the Moto Grand Prix. The present study addresses this gap by examining the factors influencing visitors’ satisfaction and intention to revisit related to the large sports event of MotoGP, Indonesia. The data were collected from visitors who had attended the MotoGP event in Indonesia using an online questionnaire with purposive sampling. The partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis was applied in this study to analyze the data. The findings indicate that hospitality, accessibility, and attraction significantly influenced visitor satisfaction at the MotoGP sports event in Mandalika, Indonesia. However, the factors of hospitality, infrastructure, accessibility, and attraction are insignificant where it concerns visitors’ intention to revisit. Moreover, satisfaction successfully influences visitors to revisit the MotoGP event in Indonesia. This study contributes to research on sports event management in large sports events by examining the factors that influence satisfaction and intention to revisit in the context of the MotoGP sports event, and contributes both theoretically and practically to research on sports events and tourism.

Experiential learning in events management degree programmes: A position statement on issues of evidence-based practice

Academics within events management disciplines should strive to encourage experiential learning opportunities for their students, but should also consider and re-evaluate the importance of reflective practice within this process. In particular, academics should consider the potential benefits of evidence-based practice as part of the experiential reflective learning process in order to encourage the development of key transferable skills and deeper forms of learning that will enable future graduates to become reflective practitioners, with the necessary skillset to regularly engage in continued professional development within industry settings. Further discussion, debate and research on such matters is required within events management literature.

Anti-seizure medications-associated bladder and urethral symptoms: a pharmacovigilance analysis based on the FAERS database

ABSTRACT Background In clinical practice, observations have been made regarding bladder and urethral symptoms (BUS), notably urinary frequency and urgency, among patients prescribed the anti-seizure medication (ASM) lacosamide. However, the precise association between ASMs and BUS events in real-world settings remains elusive. Research design and methods Data from the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) database were employed and the analysis focused on ASMs-associated BUS events utilizing disproportionality analysis methods, including the reporting odds ratio (ROR) and the proportional reporting ratio (PRR). Furthermore, co-administration, time to onset of ASMs-associated BUS events, and severity assessments were conducted. Results Several ASMs demonstrated statistically meaningful associations with BUS signals, notably ezogabine, valproic acid/valproate sodium, and clorazepate (p < 0.05). And ASMs-associated BUS events predominantly occurred within the first week and persisted for more than 180 days afterward. Diazepam, gabapentin, and brivaracetam exhibited distinct risk profiles for severe BUS events compared to valproic acid/sodium valproate (p < 0.05). And the nomogram constructed in this study exhibited robust predictive performance. Conclusion This study yields valuable insights into the association between ASMs and BUS events, but several limitations warrant consideration. Nonetheless, these findings emphasize the significance of vigilance and proactive management of ASMs-associated BUS events.
