Analysis of Moral Value in the Picture Story of the Fable Edition “Our Tax” by the Directorate Of Extension, Services, and Public Relations

The purpose of this study is to describe the moral values ​​contained in the fable book "Our Taxes". The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The source of data in this study is the entire text contained in the fable book. In this study, the researcher used Sulistyorini's theory of moral values ​​as the basis for the moral values ​​to be studied. Based on the results of the analysis of moral values ​​in the fable story book "Our Taxes" contains several moral values ​​that deserve to be imitated. The first story with the title "The Bee King and a Spoon of Wisdom" contains obedience, courage, honesty, fairness, keeping promises, being careful in acting, acting, and harmony. The second story with the title “The Dog and the Rabbit” finds obedience, courage, honesty, fairness, wisdom, keeping promises, good character, careful in acting, likes to help, harmony, and likes to give advice. While the third story with the title "Ants and Crickets" was found to contain the values ​​of hard work, discipline, responsibility, independence, cooperation, and help. Thus, the existence of moral values ​​contained in the fable is very useful for readers, especially among children. In addition, the moral values ​​contained in fable stories can also overcome the moral crisis, because children's literature can provide opportunities for children as readers for moral sources.

Taylor-ing Ethics: Implications of Charles Taylor’s Work of Retrieval on Moral Foundations Theory

This article draws from Charles Taylor’s work of retrieval to advance moral foundations theory (MFT). Taylor’s contribution to MFT lies in his insistence that we retrieve the moral sources that have helped constitute, substantiate, and give meaning to individuals’ moral sensibilities. Applying Taylor’s insights to MFT, this article seeks to advance a view of moral foundations that connects them more explicitly to their underlying moral sources. Using this retrieved account of moral foundations, this article then addresses current issues within moral foundations research and theory. Finally, this article suggests ways in which Taylor’s philosophy can contribute to three areas within business ethics: ethical leadership, behavioral ethics, and ethics pedagogy.

Ethics of God's Servants Related to The Calls and Duties of Church Service Based on Philippines 2:21-22

This paper aims to analyze the ethics of God's servants related to the calling and duties of church ministry based on Philippians 2:21-21. First, servants of God in carrying out church duties sometimes tend to forget or ignore that they are called and chosen by God to serve souls wholeheartedly and with high ethics. Many servants of God who do not show ethical attitudes that match their status as a servant of God are found so that it becomes a stumbling block within the church as a community of believers, as well as outside the church as an environment that can be reached to Christ. In this paper, the descriptive qualitative method is used, by collecting data through the Bible and other literature books such as journals, interviews, and documents related to the topic of discussion, such as social media and Youtube. As a result, a servant of God is ethically obliged to have the nature of loyalty to God who has called him. Second, a servant of God is ethically obligated to be an example in God's entrusted to service. In conclusion, a servant of God is essentially an ethical human being because he is called by God, the Source of Ethics; the servant of God needs to grasp the essence of his calling by realizing that serving is an honour and grace in God's call. Thus, he is required to show an ethical attitude: a servant of God is ethically obliged to have the nature of loyalty to God who has called him. Second, a servant of God is ethically obliged to be an example in the service God has entrusted to him.

Better customer loyalty and standing out in the market are two more benefits that customers are reaping from companies who show they care about sustainability. To sum up, there are monetary, social, and environmental benefits to incorporating sustainability standards into hyper mart operations. Hyper marts may improve their operations in terms of sustainability and profitability by implementing energy-efficient technologies, sustainable sourcing, and socially responsible activities.

HOBBES ON THE PROBLEM OF SECULARISM

Secularism is one of the major topics in political philosophy in our age. The reason why it’s so, is that the secularized religion is still a strong social glue and moral source in our day. Secularism, to say shortly, refers to the religion’s abandoning of all its worldy demands, especially its political demands by turning into a cultural body among the others. In fact, the secularism, as a cultural process, had begun in the mid of Medieval Age. But neither reconciliation between religion and science/philosophy nor nominalism were sufficient for secularism; because the relation between culture and religion needed to be reconstructed and the question was how this goal could be achieved without neglecting the religion’s autonomy and by holding it as a moral source. The answer requires an effort to create a new morality, a new politics, a new science and of course a new epistemology. Hobbes was the first who made this effort to overcome the problem by using the theoretical equipment told above. This article takes what Hobbes did to achieve the goal and examines his thought in respect of its relation with secularism.

Jeongeup, Jeollabuk-do, is an area that requires attention from those who study the history of Korean thought. In addition, Jeongeup is an area wherein many works were recorded for the first time in literary history. This is the case with Jeongeupsa as a style of Baekje songs and the lyrics of the noble families of the Joseon Dynasty, Sangchungok. Jeongeup is likewise the location where Choi Chi-won (857~?) was selected to serve as a local taesu (viceroy) and where a unique tradition of music and style were passed down. In this paper, the relationship between Choi Chi-won’s role in the process of establishing a silent Confucian academy in Jeongeup and the emergence of scholar culture was examined. When Choi Chi-won left after his term in office, a birth shrine called Taesansa Temple was built to repay the selection of the villagers, and it became the source that led to the opening of the Confucian academy Museongseowon in the future. Jeongeup will be shown to be the location where Choi Chi-won realized his aspirations and honed his capabilities. In particular, Choi Chi-won’s played a crucial role in the mid-Joseon Dynasty by supporting the construction and securing the name of Museongseowon. That is why Choi Chi-won was able to be revived as a symbolic figure in the region. In addition, it can be seen that the shape of Choi Chi-won was more sedentary- in the form of a Confucian scholar- and Confucian scholars emphasized the transfer of portraits at Museongseowon. Through the poetry written by Choi Chi-won, readers can learn about the worries and perceptions of scholars during those times. Although his value in the field of poetry is diverse, he can especially be recognized as a Confucian intellectual. In a large number of his works, he expresses his anxiety, agony, and critical inner consciousness all of which came from his encounter with the realities of his time. In fact, Choi Chi-won showed his qualities as a prominent literary figure of his time who had extraordinary aspirations and an admirable work ethic. However, he failed to overcome his regional and mental alienation as a poet in neighboring countries. Therefore, he internalized a sort of fierceness in terms of his perception of the world. However, it seems that it was rather a factor that made his work exhibit a strong lyrical style. In addition, Choi Chi-won’s collection of writings includes a number of works that strongly criticized various forms of pathological phenomena caused by terminal phenomena of the time. He also highlighted the wrong in society by realistically depicting the lives poor and needy people and their eventual sacrifice via distorted relationships. This can be read encapsulating the agony of intellectuals of that time. The dictionary definition of a ‘Confucian scholar’ is “a Confucian term referring to a person or class that embodies Confucian ideology,” and in its contemporary meaning it suggests “ … an example of a personality, but not an identity, and the conscience of one’s time period as a source of human morality inwardly and social order outwardly.” In this respect, it could even be said that Choi Chi-won could be considered the originator of scholar culture.

Searching for pure gold: The impact of ethical gold sourcing certification programmes in the UK and Switzerland

This paper explains the history of the first ethical gold certification programme: Fairtrade and Fairmined Gold, launched in February 2011, and its two successors. By presenting an overview of the key events that occurred in the UK and Switzerland relating to these three leading certification schemes, it outlines the trajectory and relevance of ethical gold in both countries up to the present day. This material is then used to explain why ethical gold certification has survived but remained peripheral to gold jewellery manufacturing in the UK throughout the past decade, whilst growing in relevance and institutional support in Switzerland over the same period. The paper also considers the overall impact of ethical gold certification programmes on global gold supply chains since their inception and concludes by reflecting on the extent to which these schemes have benefitted artisanal and small-scale gold mining communities around the globe.

Blockchain systems and ethical sourcing in the mineral and metal industry: a multiple case study

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to examine blockchain's roles in promoting ethical sourcing in the mineral and metal industry.Design/methodology/approachIt analyzes multiple case studies of blockchain projects in the mineral and metal industry.FindingsIt gives detailed descriptions of how blockchain-based supply chain networks' higher density of information flow and high degree of authenticity of information can increase supply chain participants' compliance with sustainability standards. It gives special consideration to blockchain systems' roles in overcoming the deficits in the second party and the third-party trust. It also demonstrates how blockchain-based supply chain networks include outside actors and configure the supply chain networks in a way that enhances the empowerment of marginalized groups.Practical implicationsIt suggests various mechanisms by which blockchain-based supply chain networks can give a voice to marginalized groups.Originality/valueIt demonstrates how blockchain is likely to force mineral and metal supply chains to become more traceable and transparent.

The article considers a common reproach to Chicherin that in his philosophical system, law is divorced from morality and is a completely autonomous area of normativity. The article also examines the concepts of the relationship between law, freedom and morality by Hegel and Kant and analyzes their assessment by Chicherin. The main content of the article is devoted to the consideration of a complex of issues related to the Chicherin concept of freedom as a form of existence of a rational being and as a source of law and morality. The article also gives Chicherin's interpretation of the principles of autonomous ethics, the postulates of legal science, examines the issues of the foundations of progress in law, analyzes Chicherin's criticism of positivist concepts of the nature of law and morality.

Antoni Kępiński, one of the most famous Polish psychiatrists, points to man as an ethical being. The philosopher is aware that particular moral norms have their different origins. According to his concept, their primary source is natural law. From it stem basic human decisions. In addition to this most important source, Kępiński also lists other sources that may also have an impact on human decisions. As one of the few professors, he points to genetic predispositions as one of the possible sources of human morality. Social influences are also important to him.

DOPRINOS UČENJIMA O PRAVNIM IZVORIMA

One of the goals of this work is to point out the efforts of modern studies on the sources of law to reduce the traditional sources of law - material, ethical, formal and cognitive - to formal sources of law. It is argued that the concept of the source of law, which includes the mentioned types and the phenomena they contain, is too broad, and that these phenomena have only the fact that legal norms spring from them. Here, in our opinion, the problem arises as to how to consider the phenomena from which law undoubtedly arises, especially those that fall under the material and ethical types. The problem can be solved by calling material sources legal relations, and ethical sources legal values. In addition, there is another problem that many (formal) sources also have some material and/or ethical characteristics. Likewise, we pointed out the connection between legal sources and arguments, meaning by arguments regulations and what are usually considered arguments (a. a contrario, a. a simile ad simili, a. a fortiori). We proposed a possible list of legal sources, where the main problem is that, in compiling it, it is not possible to apply one (same) criterion.

Indonesia is facing various challenges because some people do not use religious and cultural values as a source of ethics in the nation and state. Socio-cultural conflicts have occurred due to ethnic, cultural, and religious pluralism that the government and society are not appropriately managed and fair. Based on that, Pancasila is needed by all generations of the nation. The type of research method used in this research is normative research, namely research on library materials which are primary data in science is classified as secondary data, which relies on data collection tools in the form of library studies or document studies. The research concludes that generations need Pancasila to unify the nation. Even though the Indonesian people are now united, it does not mean that Pancasila is no longer needed. Because what is called the Indonesian nation is what is currently there and what will exist in the future. As long as the regeneration process continues, we still need Pancasila as a unifying nation.

The basic stance in Kiyozawa Manshiʼs 清沢満之 （1863-1903） Yūgen mugen roku 有限無限録 is that true morality is established by the idea from the Infinite that one should refrain from evil and do good. This can be said to have been derived from Kiyozawaʼs awareness of having been liberated. In Rōsenki 臘扇記, he questions his identity and concludes that he is “one who settles down just as he is” into the working of the Infinite, and that the Infinite endows him with the idea of refraining from evil and doing good as the source of morality.

Postcards That Tell a Story: Life Routines at the Lodz Ghetto, Poland

This study explores postcards written in the Lodz Ghetto, which serve as a source of knowledge about their historical context. The postcards, by their very nature, reflect the social, demographic, and psychological processes among the ghetto inhabitants during their years of forced habitation. Postcards were found to be a primary source of information and an outstanding historical testament to that which occurred, moment by moment, at the time they were written. The study charts them by means of two extensive catalogues: The first is the “Catalogue of years”, which examines the historical events in the Lodz Ghetto from 1940-1945, as they appear in “The Chronicle of the Lodz Ghetto” versus their reflection or lack of reflection in the postcards. The second catalogue is the “Catalogue of postcards”, which presents a wide and detailed review of all the topics emerging from the postcards, relating to events in the ghetto by the chronological order in which they were written and sent, as a point of departure for their analysis. It is evident from the research findings that the postcards constitute, on one hand, an authentic and reliable source of information, while on the other they also present personal aspects, as much as permitted and possible. As a result, and through that written on them, it is possible to glean additional primary information on events in the ghetto in those days, in addition to the testimonies provided by letters and diaries. In this study, the life and conduct of the ghetto inhabitants are revealed through the most concise means ‐ the postcard, where that inscribed exposes us to human conduct conveying feelings, concerns, longing that emerged together with the need for the human existence and survival of people, their family, and community, in grave and fateful times. The research findings might have practical implications for commemoration of the Holocaust, for teaching, guidance, and learning, and for exposing mediators of the Holocaust to this unique cognitive, emotional, and ethical authentic source of knowledge. The postcards serve as an educational tool for preserving and imparting historical memory.

What if a friend asks me to assist their suicide?

There has been plenty of philosophical discussion about the morality and/or rationality of suicide and physician-assisted suicide. There has also been plenty of discussion about non-prosecution policies (such as the British DPP 2010 Guidance) as a legal response to cases of one friend assisting the suicide of another. There has been much less attention paid to the particular conversations that might follow the request for suicidal assistance, and to the particular kinds of moral complexity involved. I will consider a 'Subject', who wants to commit suicide, but lacks the means or the information to do so, and therefore asks his 'Friend' for assistance. (Importantly, the Friend is not a physician.) Without aiming for anything comprehensive or theoretical, I sketch three 'easier' cases and two 'harder' cases, in order to explore the sorts of things that might be said, and thought, by each party, based on the different sources of meaning and morality.

A Defense of Biblical Ethics in Business

The application of biblical ethics in mainstream American business has long been displaced by more modern theories of ethics, such as utilitarianism and contractarianism. As the Enlightenment period introduced a greater focus on rationalism and individualism, business people began to find biblical ethics to be an unworkable approach to contemporary business problems. In this article, the authors will argue that biblical ethics is a viable tool to be used in resolving ethical issues in modern business settings. The authors will first provide a high-level overview of the history of biblical ethics as a model for businesses and consider why it fell into disuse. They will then examine the modern alternatives of utilitarianism and contractarianism and provide examples in which those theories failed to protect businesses from unethical behavior. The authors will then demonstrate the presence of these ethical alternatives within the Bible and defend biblical ethics as providing a more complete and reliable ethical source in the modern business setting. They will finally contend that the perceived complexity in applying biblical ethics to business problems is actually an opportunity for Christian business people to grow in sanctification.

“Show us what you’ve got”: From experiences of undoing to mobilizing agentic vulnerability in research

AbstractThis inquiry both builds on and extends exploration into gendered research through a focus on researcher vulnerability and its associated ethics. We discuss six critical vignettes across Western and Eastern contexts in which female researchers are “undone” and subsequently “redone” during their research endeavors. We draw upon Butler's work on gender and vulnerability, theorized as a subset of precarity. Attention is drawn to attempts to reframe, understand, and mobilize vulnerability differently, as a form of resistance, research activism, and emancipatory enactment. We propose agentic vulnerability as speaking to felt moments of vulnerability experienced in field research. We extend this contribution into a theorization of the researcher as activist, outlining practical applications of this concept. Ultimately, we seek to reposition agentic vulnerability in institutional research as a source of new ethics, research practices, and activism.
