Penanaman Mangrove dan Cemara Laut Sebagai Upaya Pelestarian Lingkungan di Pantai Wonogoro

Mangrove and sea cypress planting activities at Wonogoro Beach, Malang, East Java, are environmental conservation activities carried out by the STIE Malangkucecwara Community Service Team and international students from the International Community Service (ICS). This activity aims to overcome coastal erosion problems, preserve coastal ecosystems, improve air quality, enhance tourism potential and increase international cooperation. The implementation method includes socialising with the surrounding community and planting mangrove and sea cypress seedlings in the coastal area. This activity has been successfully implemented and positively received by the Wonogoro Beach community. Although there are several obstacles, the Community Service Team has tried to overcome them. Recommendations include continuous socialisation, monitoring and evaluation of plant growth, and collaboration with related parties to increase the effectiveness of the activities.

Correlating Sediment Erosion in Rotary–Stationary Gaps of Francis Turbines with Complex Flow Patterns

Secondary flows in Francis turbines are induced by the presence of a gap between guide vanes and top–bottom covers and rotating–stationary geometries. The secondary flow developed in the clearance gap of guide vanes induces a leakage vortex that travels toward the turbine downstream, affecting the runner. Likewise, secondary flows from the gap between rotor–stator components enter the upper and lower labyrinth regions. When Francis turbines are operated with sediment-laden water, sediment-containing flows affect these gaps, increasing the size of the gap and increasing the leakage flow. This work examines the secondary flows developing at these locations in a Francis turbine and the consequent sediment erosion effects. A reference Francis turbine at Bhilangana III Hydropower Plant (HPP), India, with a specific speed (Ns = 85.4) severely affected by a sediment erosion problem, was selected for this study. All the components of the turbine were modeled, and a reference numerical model was developed. This numerical model was validated with numerical uncertainty measurement and experimental results. Different locations in the turbine with complex secondary flows and the consequent sediment erosion effects were examined separately. The erosion effects at the guide vanes were due to the development of leakage flow inside the guide vane clearance gaps. At the runner inlet, erosion was mainly due to a leakage vortex from the clearance gap and leakage flow from rotor–stator gaps. Toward the upper and bottom labyrinth regions, erosion was mainly due to the formation of secondary vortical rolls. The simultaneous effects of secondary flows and sediment erosion at all these locations were found to affect the overall performance of the turbine.

Numerical Prediction of Solid Particle Erosion in Jet Pumps Based on a Calibrated Model

Jet pumps are widely used in petrochemical processes, nuclear cooling, and wastewater treatment due to their simple structure, high reliability, and stable performance under extreme conditions. However, when transporting solid-laden two-phase flows, they face severe erosion problems, leading to reduced efficiency, malfunctions, or even failure. Therefore, optimizing jet pump performance and extending its service life is crucial. In this study, an experimental platform was established to conduct experiments on wall erosion in jet pumps. The CFD-DEM method was used to simulate the solid–liquid two-phase flow in the jet pump, comparing six erosion models for predicting erosion rates. The Grey Wolf Optimization algorithm was applied to calibrate model coefficients. The results indicate that the Neilson erosion model shows the best consistency with the experimental results. The inlet flow rate significantly influenced the erosion rates, while the flow rate ratio had a smaller effect. The particle concentration exhibited a nonlinear relationship with erosion, with diminishing impact beyond a certain threshold. As the factors varied, the erosion distribution tended to be uniform, but high erosion areas remained locally concentrated, indicating intensified localized erosion.

Increasing the Wear Resistance of the Impellers of Electrical Centrifugal Submersible Pumps Through Repair

Objective: This research investigates the challenges of maintaining electrical submersible pumps (ESP) and develop effective repair techniques to enhance their reliability and efficiency. Theoretical Framework: The research draws upon theories and models related to pump maintenance, materials science, and corrosion prevention. Methodology: A case study approach was adopted, focusing on a Weir VTP submersible pump in continuous operation for 15 years. The pump's condition was assessed, and the root causes of erosion and corrosion were identified. Laser cladding with a TiC coating was applied to the damaged areas. Results and Discussion: The results demonstrated a significant improvement in the pump's wear resistance and overall efficiency following the laser cladding treatment. The TiC coating effectively mitigated the effects of erosion and corrosion, extending the pump's lifespan and reducing maintenance costs. Research Implications: The findings of this research contribute to the development of more effective maintenance strategies for submersible centrifugal pumps. The use of laser cladding with TiC coatings can be applied to other types of pumps and machinery operating in harsh environments. This research also highlights the importance of regular inspections and preventive maintenance. Originality/Value: This study provides a practical solution to the problem of erosion and corrosion in submersible centrifugal pumps. The application of laser cladding with a TiC coating is a relatively novel approach, offering a more effective repair method compared to traditional techniques. The results can be applied to improve the reliability and efficiency of pumps in various industries.

Impact of the Draft Plate on the Wall Erosion and Flow Field Stability of a Cyclone Separator

Cyclone separators are commonly employed in the mining, metallurgy and chemical industries due to their simple structure, easy maintenance and high recovery efficiency. However, with the wide application of cyclone separators, many problems have become exposed in their practical operation, restricting their development. Among these, wall erosion is becoming a significant problem. In this study, to resolve the problem of severe erosion on the walls, the Eulerian–Lagrangian framework was employed to investigate a cyclone separator with a draft plate at the inlet and to evaluate the effect of a draft plate with angles of 0°, 45° and 90° on the degree of erosion and the stabilization of flow fields. Moreover, after verifying the reliability of the numerical model via data from experiments, the characteristics of gas–solid flow were analyzed and the effects of the new structure on the degree of wear were investigated. The results demonstrated that unfavorable phenomena such as secondary flow and wall erosion generated during the operation could be mitigated by the draft plate. When the plate angle was 90°, the wall erosion was the lightest and the range of influence of the secondary flow was the smallest. When the plate angle was 45°, the comprehensive performance was the best, and there was a better balance between the energy loss and the degree of wall erosion. Therefore, the presence of the draft plate has a significant impact on the interaction of gas–solid phases in a cyclone separator.

Plan de manejo basado en ecosistemas para el santuario Chenkan, Campeche

The objective of this work was to design an ecosystem-based management plan for the Chenkan Beach Sanctuary, located in the municipality of Champoton, state of Campeche, using as methodology the twelve principles of the ecosystem approach mentioned by Shepherd (2006) grouped into the following steps: determination of the main actors, characterization of the structure and function of the ecosystem, identification of the relevant economic aspects that will affect the ecosystems and their inhabitants, determination of the probable impact of the ecosystem on adjacent ecosystems and decision of long-term goals and flexible mechanisms to achieve them. The results obtained indicate that the Chenkan Beach Sanctuary was named a protected natural area due to the great variety of species that are at risk, which are registered in the NOM-059-SEMARNAT-2010 and because it is a nesting site for the hawksbill turtle and the green turtle. It was found that the place has erosion problems that put the nesting sites at risk and that various anthropogenic activities have altered the ecosystems causing the turtles to have to migrate to find a new suitable site to nest. Based on all these problems, proposals are put forward to help mitigate the existing problems in the area. Keywords: Chenkan Beach, environmental problems, ecosystem services, ecosystem approach.

Assessment of Slope Stability at Erbil Citadel, Kurdistan Region of Iraq Using Bejerman’s Method

The Erbil Citadel is located in the center of Erbil City; the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The shape of the citadel is a large, oval hill. The Citadel was inhabited more than 6,000 years ago and is thought to be one of the longest-continuously inhabited sites in the world. Therefore, the Citadel was announced in 2014 as a World Heritage by UNESCO. The height of the Citadel is not uniform; it ranges between (28–30) m, the top elevation is 429 m (a.s.l.), whereas the bottom elevation ranges between (407– 416) m (a.s.l). The Citadel has an oval shape with diameters between (350 – 420) m, the E–W being the longest. The slopes of the Citadel (Tell) display severe erosion and slope stability problems, the main types are creep, which can endanger the existing historical buildings, especially on the edges of the Citadel. Different data about the Citadel have been reviewed but couldn’t find special studies concerning the slope stability of the Citadel. Therefore, we have applied Bejerman’s method, which is a quick field method to assess the slope stability of the slopes of the Citadel to find the Landslide Possibility Index (LPI). Eleven stations were selected around the Citadel to apply Bejerman’s method, the stations were selected in the site; wherever clear indications were found for slope instability. The results of the assessment showed that the LPI ranges between 18–22, which means grade IV, and Failure possibility of Medium (2 stations), and High (9 stations). Recommendations are given to keep the slopes of the citadel as safe as possible.

Annual soil erosion characteristics of unpaved roads in the Loess Plateau hilly and gully region, China

The problem of unpaved road erosion is prominent in the Loess Plateau hilly and gully region. Unpaved roads contribute substantially to watershed sediment due to their high soil bulk density, low infiltration rates and extensive network. In this study, a field investigation was conducted on typical unpaved roads within a typical watershed in this region, focusing on assessing the damage state, annual soil loss and the factors influencing erosion in a comparatively wet year. The results showed that the soil erosion from unpaved roads was very severe, with an annual erosion intensity of 470 t hm−2, following three heavy rain events and two rainstorm events in the summer of 2022. The main unpaved roads (MUR) suffered the most severe road erosion, with 22.2 % of road segments experiencing severe erosion with classical gullies. The erosion gullies on the road had an average depth of 16.1 cm and an average width of 36.5 cm, with the widest being 146.0 cm and the deepest being 174.0 cm. The road erosion intensity was significantly related to drainage area, road area, road length and coverage. Road erosion reduced significantly when the land use in the drainage areas of the road was covered with shrub or grass, or road surface was covered with grass or gravel. Our findings offer valuable insights for road construction and erosion prevention in similar terrains.

Aircraft engine fault diagnosis based on fused convolutional Transformer

Aircraft engines will face corrosion and erosion problems when working in harsh gas path environments for a long time, and the fault parameter characteristics are not obvious. Therefore, accurate aircraft engine fault diagnosis methods are of great significance to ensure the safe operation of aircraft. In order to improve the prediction accuracy, an aircraft engine fault diagnosis method based on fused convolutional Transformer is proposed. The self-attention mechanism is used to extract useful features and suppress redundant information. The maximum pooling layer (MaxPool) is introduced into the Transformer model to further reduce the model memory consumption and parameter quantity, and alleviate the overfitting phenomenon. The simulation data set of turbofan engines based on GasTurb modeling is used for verification. The results show that compared with the Transformer network and other traditional deep learning models Back Propagation Neural Networks (BP network), Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), the accuracy rates are improved by 6.552%、28.117%、13.189%and respectively 10.29%, which proves the effectiveness of the proposed method and can provide a certain reference for aircraft engine fault diagnosis.

Ecological Impact Assessment of Permanent Site of Federal Polytechnic Oko Using Topographic Survey Method

Topographic survey based ecological impact assessment provides a mechanism for data integration, development, management and output presentation in a spatial environment. This research involved incorporating spatial data of all salient points at the Permanent Site of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra state to find a solution to the erosion menace. Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) receiver was used to acquire spatial data of buildings, roads, spot height, drainages, catchment pits, etc. The topographic data were processed using ArcGIS software to analyze and produce the topographic maps. Presentations from the topographic survey revealed that the catchment topography runs between 160m – 198m height above the datum, the total area of the catchment area being 216320.653m2, perimeter is 2604.449m and the length of the mainstream is 1125.428m. Topographic maps of the area were used to assess the impact of the ecology on the area of study by analyzing the built up area, surface roughness, impervious and pervious surfaces. Hydraulic design of the drainage using best hydraulic section principle for most economic section to carry the flow was determined to solve the erosion problems in the catchment area. The flow rate obtained was 2.55m3/s and dimensions of the channel to be 1.1m depth and 2.2m width. The design of the selected structural members was done to mitigate against the erosion menace in the study area.

Investigating the Synergistic Effect of Tillage System and Manure Application Rates on Selected Properties of Two Soil Types in Limpopo Province, South Africa

Sustainable agricultural practices are needed to find a solution to the problem of soil erosion and decreased soil quality. A study was conducted during the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 cropping seasons to evaluate the synergistic effect of the tillage system (TS) and manure rates (MR) on selected soil properties at the University of Limpopo Experimental Farm (Syferkuil) and University of Venda Experimental Farm (UNIVEN). The experiment had a split plot design with three replications. The main plots used conventional (CON) and in-field rainwater harvesting (IRWH) tillage systems, while subplots used poultry and cattle manure at rates of 0, 20, and 35 t ha−1. Bulk density (BD), aggregate stability (AS), pH, total N, organic carbon (OC), available P, and exchangeable cations (Ca, Mg, and K) were determined. IRWH significantly increased AS in the 0–20 cm soil layer at Syferkuil. TS × MR interaction significantly influenced AS and total N in the 20–40 cm soil layer during the 2022/2023 season at Syferkuil. IRWH significantly increased Mg content in the 2021/2022 season and total N, OC, and Mg content in the 2022/2023 season at Syferkuil over CON. At UNIVEN, CON significantly increased total N, whereas IRWH increased available P in the 2022/2023 season. MR significantly increased AS, exchangeable Ca, Mg, and K at both sites. At Syferkuil, MR significantly increased total N, OC, and available P during both seasons, whereas at UNIVEN the significant increase was observed on OC and available P during both seasons and total N in the 2021/2022 season. It was found that IRWH and poultry manure (35 t ha−1) improved most soil properties at both sites; however, this study recommends long-term experiments to investigate the combined effect of IRWH and manure rate on soil properties to validate the findings observed in this study.

Numerical evaluation of the impact of sandbars on cross-shore sediment transport and shoreline evolution

Nearshore nourishments are a common intervention used to mitigate sediment deficits in coastal areas experiencing erosion problems. This coastal intervention involves placing nourished sediments in the submerged zone of the beach profile to form an artificial submerged sandbar which are then distributed by natural forces occurring in the coastal zone. Coastal processes that control the morphological evolution of coastal zones operate on several spatial and temporal scales (seconds to years) and can be divided into cross-shore and longshore components. Usually, the numerical models that simulate the evolution of cross-shore profiles due to sediment transport within the profiles, are related with short to medium-term events (days to months), and shoreline evolution models, that allow for long-term analysis (years to decades), are typically only considering longshore sediment transport. Describing all the processes in a single numerical model is complex and computationally demanding, and therefore, the numerical models are typically focused on specific processes, categorized by their temporal and spatial scales. This article presents a numerical study focused on medium to long-term numerical modelling of coastal zone evolution, examining the combined effects of cross-shore and longshore sediment transport processes of sediment transport. The model incorporates two simplified numerical models: LTC - Long Term Configuration, for shoreline evolution and CS-Model, for cross-shore sediment exchanges. Applied to nine different sandbar scenarios, model results revealed that disturbances in sandbar volume tend to return to equilibrium through cross-shore sediment transport processes. In situations that considered a constant sandbar volume alongshore, the longshore effects are null, because the volume entering in the coastal domain is equal to the volume leaving, and the sediment balance is only dependent of the cross-shore processes. Variable sandbar volume alongshore leads to impacts on shoreline position due to longshore sediment transport gradients generated by the sandbar disturbance. The results demonstrate the potential of the proposed combined model for medium to long-term projections, allowing for the interpretation of how physical aspects of nearshore nourishments evolve. These aspects include sandbar volume, shoreline position, berm width, and shoreline displacements induced by cross-shore and longshore sediment transport processes. These parameters aid in understanding sandbar-beach sediment dynamics, which is valuable for supporting coastal management, particularly in the development and design of shoreface sand nourishments, enabling the optimization of sand resources.

Evaluation navigation controlled gate of aging spillway on cavitation damage.

High-speed flow of clean water or water with sediment released from aging spillways may cause abrasion and cavitation on the concrete surface gradually. The occurrence of irregularities on the concrete surface can exacerbate the erosion problem. Which might jeopardize the safety of dams constantly, hence the rehabilitation efforts become urgent tasks in dam safety projects. This study employs a 3D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model to quantitatively analyze the cavitation risk on the aging concrete surface of the Chay 5 spillway in Ha Giang, Vietnam, under various operation scenarios. There are two standards used to measure cavitation: the cavitation index (σ) which indicates the danger due to the drop of pressure in rapid flow, and the new gasification index (β) which takes into consideration the formation and collapse of bubbles behind asperities. Three extreme flood cases may not result in potential cavitation because both σ and β exceed critical thresholds. Regarding the six controlled gate scenarios with normal water level, the σ profiles are approximated 1,0 showing a low likelihood of cavitation damage while the β values are smaller than 0.8, indicating a considerable risk of cavitation. Besides, the opening height of 100 cm poses the greatest risk of creating severe cavitation erosion in the concave area and slope portion. The flip bucket experienced the most vulnerable cavitation when the opening height is 400 cm. In addition, an approach to spillway surface rehabilitation involving specialized mortars has been presented. For aging conveyance structure, gasification index (β) takes into account irregularities surface, providing a more comprehensive assessment of the likelihood of cavitation damage than cavitation index (σ). After rehabilitation with anti-shrinkage high abrasion resistance mortar, the entire spillway surface is smooth. This allows for reducing the cavitation risk and improvement of life service thereof.

The Application of Computed Tomography to Study the Soil Porosity of Mountain Red Earth

Mountain red soil, as a special type of soil in the South, has received widespread attention for its soil erosion problems. Its pore structure restricts water infiltration, thereby affecting the occurrence and development of soil erosion. In order to systematically obtain the distribution characteristics of the pore structure within the surface mountain red soil, this paper uses non-destructive CT detection technology to scan the soil column samples taken from the typical mountain red soil distribution area in Chenggong District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province. Image processing technology is applied to CT slices, and ImageJ (1.46r) software is used to obtain the distribution characteristics of pores within the soil column, including pore sizes and the number of pores at each depth, the proportion of pore area, roundness, and box-counting dimension. The results show that with the increase in depth, the proportion of pore area decreases linearly from the maximum value of 52.25% at the top to the minimum value of 2.02% at the bottom; the roundness of pores fluctuates between 0.8 and 0.9, overall increasing; the total number of pores generally first increases then decreases, and small pores are predominant, with the least number of large pores in the topsoil layer; the box-counting dimension shows a gradual linear decrease, with a maximum value of 1.7980 and a minimum value of 0.9878. The number of pores affects both roundness and the box-counting dimension, and the proportion of pore area also affects the box-counting dimension. There is a negative correlation between roundness and the box-counting dimension. The 3D visualization reconstruction of pores shows that most are interconnected, with the pore size significantly reducing with increasing depth. The quantitative analysis of parameters and 3D visualization reveal, to some extent, the impact of pore structure on the occurrence and development of soil erosion in mountain red soil. These research findings form the foundation for studying soil erosion in this region and provide a basis for systematically understanding its processes and mechanisms.

Biomass erosion and its effect on heat carrying performance of alumina heat carrier during multiple cycle sintering in solar photothermal coupled with biomass gasification

Biomass coupled with solar photothermal gasification technology is an efficient technology using solar to provide energy by heat carrier for biomass gasification. However, the heat carrier that transferred heat to the biomass feedstock can be eroded by the effects of biomass ash, with the erosion problem worsening as the number of cycles increased. The erosion and adhesion caused by multiple sintering of corn stalk ash (CSA) to heat carrier particles (Al2O3) were investigated. K and Si elements in CSA are the main elements that erode Al2O3 particles, and their erosion depth increases with the number of sintering cycles. The erosion process of CSA on heat carriers deepens with multi-sintering, but the infiltration behavior of CSA can be fairly prevented due to the generation of high fusion minerals during erosion. The infiltration characteristics of CSA change abruptly upon contact, influencing the erosion behavior during the cyclic sintering process.

Coupled computational fluid dynamics-discrete element method for simulating the interactions between ship-induced waves and riprap on restricted waterway banks

In inland waterways, waves generated by passing boats cause the movement of riprap used for bank protection and stabilization. Previous studies have mainly concerned the natural channel erosion problem caused by wind-generated waves and neglected the research and findings on shipping behavior. This work presents a coupling of the computational fluid dynamics model and the discrete element method. The aim is to first study the interactions between ship waves in the confined channel and the movements of the riprap of the banks and shorelines and second to analyze the stability of these armourstones under the actions of various ship velocities and draught depths. These varying conditions exert influence on the ship-induced waves, the crucial point being the drawdown amplitude, and consequently create more intense flow behavior in the near-shore region, which results in instability and destruction of the overall structure of the armor protection layer. The higher ship velocity and the larger draught depth lead to the aggravation of instability processes of the blocs composing the protective layer. There is a critical phenomenon in the influence mechanism of vessel velocity, whereas the variation process induced by draught depth is relatively linear. In addition, the stability of the blocs also depends on their shapes, sizes, and the initial positions within the protective layer. This study could contribute to the high-quality development of inland navigation.

Research on the Two-Pillar Solution and Its Implication

With the rapid development of economic globalization and digitalization, new business models are activating the world economy while exacerbating the remaining problems of base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS). In the face of intensifying international tax avoidance, The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has announced its Two-pillar solution to the international community, proposing a global minimum tax regime, which is effectively a coordination of global anti-tax avoidance measures. At present, Pillar 2 has come into effect, and Pillar 1 has also been opened for signature, marking the implementation stage of the two-pillar solution. In this paper, the two-pillar solution is the main research object. Firstly, from the perspective of large-scale tax avoidance by multinational corporations, this paper systematically analyzes the historical background of the introduction of the two-pillar solution of the OECD. After a detailed analysis of the provisions of the two-pillar solution, the existing institutional deficiencies and obstacles to its implementation are proposed. Finally, in response to the issues raised, practical recommendations are made that the elements of the two-pillar solution should aim to achieve general equity, balance the interests of developing countries and be in harmony with existing international tax policies. The governments should also optimize the structure of tax incentives.

Estimation of soil loss using RUSLE model and GIS tools: Case study in the Jucusbamba Micro-Watershed (Amazonas, NW Peru)

Human activities have intensified soil erosion globally, negatively impacting the physical, chemical, and microbiological quality of water and soil. This study estimated soil loss in the Jucusbamba Micro-Watershed (Amazonas, northwestern Peru) using the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) integrated with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing (RS) data. Meteorological data, soil maps, digital elevation models, and land cover and use maps were integrated into a GIS environment to predict the spatial distribution of erosion. The results showed five classes of soil loss severity: slight (93.34%), moderate (3.94%), high (1.82%), very high (0.61%), and severe (0.29%). Areas with high, very high, and severe erosion levels were mainly located in the middle and lower parts of the micro-watershed. The average annual soil loss was estimated at 23.24 t/ha/year. The information obtained is crucial for the formulation of soil management plans and programs to address erosion problems in the Jucusbamba River Micro-Watershed. Future research should focus on validating these models through field studies and implementing soil conservation practices based on these findings. Conservation of the Mount Bawakaraeng Water Resources Area as a Form of Water Resources Management Through Sustainable and Environmentally Sound Development Strategies

Objective: To assess the impact of land cover change on the problems of erosion, sedimentation, flooding, and water scarcity in the Jeneberang watershed and to formulate comprehensive policy and strategy recommendations for the conservation and sustainable management of water resources in the Mount Bawakaraeng area. Metode: This research use of method of conducting legal research known as normative – empirical method, which combine aspects of normative law with data or empirical components. This method is also used to learn how normative legal provisions (laws) are applied to each specific legal event that takes place in community. Results: The change in land use has led to an increase in erosion, sedimentation, flooding, and water scarcity in the Jeneberang Watershed. Deforestation and forest degradation in the upstream area of the Jeneberang watershed have caused various problems related to unsustainable water resource management. Conclusion: the need for a comprehensive and integrated approach in water resources management in the Mount Bawakaraeng area, guided by Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the principles of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM). This includes: Strengthening legal and regulatory frameworks for forest and land conservation, Promoting sustainable land management practices among local communities, Improving coordination and collaboration among stakeholders in watersheds, Improving monitoring, data collection, and evidence-based decision-making, Providing alternative livelihood opportunities to reduce pressure on natural resources.

Preparation and erosion resistance of SiC-based ceramic-PCM sensible-latent heat composite heat storage materials

Alloy phase change materials (PCM) are key materials in latent heat storage systems for solar thermal power generation, however, their application is limited by the high corrosion and oxidation problems of alloys. To reduce the erosion problem of alloy PCM, SiC-based ceramic encapsulated flake graphite (EG) modified Al-Cu28-Si6 alloy was used to successfully prepare composite PCM with high compatibility and oxidation resistance. Adopting static erosion test method, the composite PCM was subjected to 50 thermal cycles (25–1000 °C holding time of 10 h was recorded as 1 cycle). The results showed that SiC-based ceramics have excellent corrosion resistance to composite PCM with 10 wt% EG added, which due to the excellent reticulation and encapsulation of EG. Based on the Young-Laplace equation and the contact angle, the erosion resistance mechanism of silicon carbide ceramic alloys has been revealed. SiC-based ceramic-PCM sensible heat-latent heat composite heat storage material was expected to be used for high-temperature heat storage in solar thermal power generation.
