The EPR spectrum of Cu2+ ions in (ZnS(CH2COO)2.3H2O)H2O has been measured at 120K in the three orthogonal crystalline planes, yielding the following parameters: gz=2.3815+or-0.0060, Az(63Cu)=97.6+or-0.6, P=5.8+or-0.5, gy=2.1735+or-0.0015, AY(63Cu)=26.0+or-0.9, R=0.8+or-0.6, gx=2.0411+or-0.0060, Ax(63Cu)=49.3+or-0.6, where the units of A, P and R are 10-4 cm-1. The g and A systems of axes were not quite aligned with an average non-coincidence angle of 2 degrees for each axis. The major quadrupole principal direction is 5 degrees away from the gz direction. The EPR data are consistent with C1 symmetry for the paramagnetic site in this lattice, in agreement with the crystal and molecular structure of the zinc host.
