ABSTRACT Excessmolar volume, excess isentropic compressibility, deviation inviscosity, and excess Gibbs free energy for activation of viscous flow were determined for binary mixtures of 2-nitroanisole with substituted cyclohexanone (2,6-dimethylcyclohexanone (J1), 2-methylcyclohexanone (J2), and cyclohexanone (J3)) at selected compositions and temperatures ranging from 303.15 K to 313.15 K. These properties were calculated from experimentally measured densities, viscosities, and speeds of sound. The results were analysed in terms of intermolecular interactions, specifically dipole-dipole interactions leading to charge complex formation. The Jouyban-Acre e model was used to correlate the experimental density and speed of sound data, with the accuracy assessed using mean relative deviation (MRD) and individual relative deviation (IRD).
