Thinking and Practice of Integrating Information Technology into College Physical Education Teaching

With the continuous development of information technology, the application scope of information technology is expanding. The integration of information technology and physical education teaching can effectively stimulate students' enthusiasm for training, mobilize their enthusiasm for learning, cultivate their sense of cooperation, and establish the awareness of lifelong sports. For this reason, physical education teachers should deeply explore the way of integration of information technology and physical education teaching. From the perspective of integration, this paper constructs a learner centered environment based on modern information technology. Taking people's active learning activities as the main line, it explores the way of deep integration of modern information technology and physical education teaching and puts forward countermeasures for effective integration of information technology and college physical education curriculum.

Technostress of students during COVID-19 - a sign of the time?

University students are considered digital natives but they often have difficulties in the effective integration of information technology (IT) into their study routine. To unravel this puzzle we proposed a model of IT effects on students' well-being, based on the Job Demands-Resources theory, one of the most widely used models of human well-being in organizational contexts. We described three processes affecting students’ well-being. A techno-stress process generates strain via an increase in study demands. A techno-enrichment process sparks motivation through the creation of energizing study techno-resources. A dual-nature techno-challenge process sparks motivation but also creates strain. Our elaboration might help to reconcile conflicting findings on the role of IT in remote learning and contribute to a better understanding of the effect of IT on students. The proposed theoretical model might also spark further empirical research and provide guidelines for research on IT use in university learning.

A Connective Framework to Support the Lifecycle of Cyber–Physical Production Systems

The potential benefits of the adoption of cyber-physical production systems (CPPSs) and their significant role in enabling smart manufacturing is well recognized today. However, it is less clear how such CPPS can be most effectively and consistently engineered and maintained throughout their lifecycle due to the existing divide in the information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) landscape and ad hoc integration practices that result in inconsistent data and data models at various levels of manufacturing processes. The work presented in this article addresses this problem by envisioning a connective framework to support the engineering of CPPS through the use of a set of digital twins consistent with the real system throughout its lifecycle, not just used in the design and deployment phases. A review of the latest perspectives on using digital integration frameworks, methods, and solutions for lifecycle engineering of CPPS is provided in this article. This article demonstrates how a suitable framework, named SIMPLE, can be realized to effectively address the lack of consistent data models throughout the engineering lifecycle, including implementation details and example cases developed by the authors at the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) in selected industrial sectors. Consideration is given to supporting cyber-to-physical systems' connectivity and extendable engineering toolsets, forming the basis for multidisciplinary digital engineering environments. Key discussion points include the role and importance of effective integration of IT and OT, suitable frameworks for integration and collaboration.

Application of Feedback Control Law in Track and Field Teaching and Computer Simulation Training

At present, the effective integration of information technology and feedback control law represented by computer simulation training can effectively collect and manage the sports information of athletes, so as to improve the scientificity and rationality of athletes’ training, so it has important research value. Integrating Information Technology in Precollege Education in Kuwait: Teachers’ Perspectives on a Botched Initiative

Aim/Purpose: This study collects empirical evidence to investigate the extent to which high school teachers adopted the tablet computer in their instruction within the context of the Tablet Project in Kuwait and explores what drove their adoption behavior. Background: The role of information technology in education is prominent and takes different forms depending on the purpose of information technology adoption and the adopted information technology systems. To utilize emerging technology in education in Kuwait, the government launched an initiative to integrate the tablet computer into high school education during the 2015–2016 academic year. Three years later, some evidence doubting the project’s value had had been circulated, which motivated undertaking a thorough investigation to assess the project’s effectiveness, particularly from the teachers’ perspectives and its influential factors. Methodology: We adapted an expanded Technology Acceptance Model to assess the extent of high school teachers’ use of the system in their teaching practice and to examine the effects of teaching efficacy, perceived ease of use, and perceived usefulness on that use behavior. To test the research hypotheses, a data set was collected from 206 teachers and analyzed using the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) method. Contribution: Our empirically derived results confirm the scanty information that was in circulation at the time of this study and that claimed that the Tablet Project was not progressing sufficiently or achieving its objectives. These results could guide future efforts aimed at effectively integrating information technology into high school education in Kuwait and at enhancing the ongoing online education necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic. They also advise that effective integration of information technology into teaching and learning mandates a comprehensive redesign and digitization of the targeted educational system. Findings: Although teachers report minimal use of the system in teaching, teaching efficacy emerges as the strongest determinant of that use behavior, followed by perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. The fitted model also has satisfactory explanatory power as it explains 43% of the variance in use behavior. Recommendations for Practitioners: The results of this study suggest that, in the public schools of Kuwait, teaching efficacy is a more important determinant of the use behavior of information technology in teaching than perceived ease of use or perceived usefulness. In addition, it is difficult to adopt information technology into teaching where there is inadequate awareness of the role of technology in e-learning, a lack of content modules fit for information technology-assisted teaching, poor Internet connections, a lack of technical support, and a lack of adequate professional and technical training. Recommendation for Researchers: This study offers significant empirical results from the Arabian milieu on the utility of the Technology Acceptance Model in elucidating public high school teachers’ adoption of the tablet computer in teaching practice. Our results also enhance the growing global body of knowledge on the integration of hedonic systems as well as their individual and contextual determinants in education, in general, and in teaching practice, in particular. Furthermore, teaching efficacy is an important determinant of teachers’ adoption of information technology in teaching. Impact on Society: Information technology augments traditional, face-to-face teaching and learning in societies by incorporating rich, online learning experiences and creating a motivating and efficient learning environment. Yet, the value of information technology-enabled education depends significantly on the successful integration of the systems into the educational process, and the results of this study could serve as a foundation for policies and plans aimed at successfully integrating information technology into the educational systems in Kuwait and similar societies. Future Research: The results and limitations of this study suggest several future research topics. Future research should explore the extent of students’ adoption of the tablet computer in learning activities and its important determinants to gain a better understanding of the Kuwaiti Tablet Project initiative. In addition, future research should employ other research methods (e.g., qualitative analysis), use samples from private schools’ teachers, and incorporate and test other possible determinants of teachers’ adoption of information technology in teaching to verify the validity and generalizability of the reported results.

Elements of interactive technologies in teaching medical informatics

Effective integration of information technologies into the higher education system is aimed at improving the quality of education, developing students ' creative abilities, and striving for continuous acquisition of new knowledge. The work of students with situational tasks contributes to the formation of analytical thinking, stimulates the deepening and expansion of knowledge not only in a certain subject area, but also in the corresponding related areas. The article describes the experience of using situational tasks to control theoretical and practice-oriented knowledge of students on a number of topics in the section "Statistical analysis of biomedical research" as part of the discipline Medical informatics. The prospects of implementing situational tasks in an interactive form using the capabilities of modern information and communication technologies are substantiated.

Information Technology Integration in Higher Education: A Novel Approach for Impact Assessment

In the current technological world of Information services, academic systems are also in the process of adapting information technology solutions. Information systems vary for different applications and specifically in academia domain, a range of information systems are available for different institutions worldwide. Integration of e-learning can optimize implementation of computer-based and computer-assisted educational processes at all levels. Therefore it is imperative to assess and evaluate integration of these information systems because they have serious impact on e-learning processes. In this study an instrument survey is presented for evaluating integration of information technology systems and practices in an educational environment. Survey is constructed using descriptive questions related to information technology tools to assess qualitative impact and usage of such tools. Critical feedback, analysis and suggestions from 25 educationists played a pivotal role in finalizing proposed survey questionnaire. A subsequent test evaluation by teachers and students is also carried out to assess adequate utilization of information systems in Yanbu University College. The results showed that feedback using this survey can help in identifying technological gaps and facilitate effective integration of information technology in an educational environment. Survey instrument proposed in this research can greatly enhance integration of IT tools as it can identify shortcomings by collecting statistical data from feedback of both faculty and students. Solution to these problems is deterministic and can be easily implemented to optimize overall performance of e-learning systems.

У статті проаналізовано чинники забезпечення ефективної інтеграції інформаційних технологій у навчальний процес, зокрема розглянуті основні переваги і недоліки застосування інформаційно-комунікаційних технологій в навчальному процесі. Наведено способи класифікації за призначенням, структурою та функціями відповідних програмних продуктів і вимоги до них для використання в освітньому процесі. Досліджено застосування систем комп’ютерної математики (СКМ) як інноваційної педагогічної технології. Впровадження таких систем у навчання є перспективним напрямом удосконалення підготовки фахівців у системі вищої освіти, тому наведено деякі рекомендації для підвищення ефективності даного процесу.

Guidelines for Effective Integration of Information Technology in the Care of HIV-infected Populations

Although information technology (IT) plays an increasingly important role in the delivery of healthcare, specific guidelines to assist human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) care settings in adopting IT are lacking. Through the experiences of six Special Projects of National Significance - (SPNS) funded HIV-specific IT interventions, key considerations prior to adoption and evaluation of IT are presented. The purpose of this article is to provide guidelines to consider prior to adoption and evaluation of IT in HIV care settings. Six sites conducted comprehensive evaluations of IT interventions between 2002 and 2005, encompassing care delivered to 24,232 clients by 700 providers. Six key considerations prior to adoption of IT in HIV care delivery were identified, including IT and programmatic capacity, expectations, participation, organizational models, end-user types, and challenges. Specific evaluation techniques included implementation assessment, formative evaluation, cost studies, outcomes evaluation, and performance indicators. Grantee experiences are used to illustrate key considerations. With proper preparation, even resource-poor HIV care delivery programs can successfully adopt IT.
