Russian Talent Training Mode Optimization Using OBE in Higher Vocational Colleges

To narrow the gap between Russian education in vocational colleges and “One Belt One Road” needs, this work employs reverse design principles to design the curriculum structure and reorganizes the Russian teaching content based on the OBE (Outcome-Based Education). Starting from internal and external demands, we develop the training goals and graduation requirements for students, which further guides the design of teaching content to match occupational needs. Through a four-year education with two sessions of students' practice at Xinjiang Vocational University, it is verified that the Russian talent training mode under the OBE theory is beneficial. It can enhance the attractiveness of the Russian major, improving the initiative of talent training objectives and the overall quality of talent training and job competency.

THE LANGUAGE LEARNERS’ VIEWS ON THE TEACHING COMPETENCIES OF ENGLISH TEACHERS AT HIGHER VOCATIONAL COLLEGES IN GUANGXI, CHINA

The objective of this study was to provide a comprehensive theme-based reference for the improvement of teaching competencies for English teachers in higher vocational colleges in China with an exploratory mixed-methods research design. This quantitative study focused on first-year higher vocational students’ views of five teaching competencies in English: knowledge and skills, instructional design, teaching practice, teaching evaluation, and teaching wisdom. The students comprehensively and objectively evaluate the various components of teaching competencies. A comparative analysis of the mean values of the components of teaching competencies identified items where there were significant deficiencies in teaching competencies from the students’ perspective and found deficiencies in all components especially teaching practice and teaching evaluation. This research recommended strategies for improving the teaching competencies of English teachers in higher vocational education developed exclusively from the students' views, focusing on their experiences and perceptions of English learning activities, incorporating their views on teaching competencies with them, and eventually recommending effective strategies.

The knowledge of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) is a new definition of the knowledge structure of higher vocational college teachers in the era of information society. This study investigated the prominent problems in TPACK training of teachers in higher vocational college of arts in our city by sampling. Firstly, in the professional training of provincial or municipal teachers, emphasis was placed on “theory or method propaganda” rather than “guidance of technology integration training”; Secondly, focus on “discipline knowledge”, “teaching knowledge” and “technical knowledge” of a single module of training, but lack of “integration and deep integration of the three”; In view of the above problems, it is suggested that educational administrative departments or universities should pay attention to the training of “subject teaching with technology integration” in the professional training of teachers, and pay attention to the deep integration of “Content knowledge”, “Pedagogical knowledge” and “ Technological knowledge” in the training process. Research on the Evaluation System of Vocational College Teachers’ Teaching Ability in the Digital Economy Era

The era of digital economy promotes the transformation of enterprises and puts forward new requirements for the development of talent ability and higher requirements for the teaching quality of vocational colleges. A scientific and reasonable evaluation system can evaluate the teaching ability of vocational college teachers, accurately locate and solve the problems existing in teaching links, so as to achieve a new leap in the level of vocational college teachers and better meet the needs of the times. Based on the excellent practice achievements of American universities and the iceberg theory model, this paper takes Shanghai Vocational College as an example, and makes a statistical analysis of the data obtained from 208 questionnaires by using analytic hierarchy process, so as to establish a more refined, scientific and timely evaluation system and evaluation rules for teachers’ teaching ability in vocational colleges. The evaluation system takes “students” as the evaluation subject, “teachers” as the evaluation basis, and “evaluation questionnaire” as the evaluation form, including 2 first-level indicators, 5 second-level indicators and 24 third-level indicators.

Evaluation of Fundamental Instructional Design Skill: The Quality of PPG Program In-Service Teachers

Program Pensiswazahan Guru (PPG) is a targeted degree program catered for those in-service teachers mention above. PPG is conducted using a distance learning mod and the duration is 4 years. In-service teachers will attend the courses during the weekend and only five times face-to-face meetings with the lecturers. However, there is no comprehensive research has been conducted towards PPG students’ mastery skills in fundamental instructional design. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the fundamental instructional design skill level among PPG students and to determine the differences in fundamental instructional design skills among three groups of PPG students (Primary School, Secondary School, and Vocational College). This study employed a tracer study survey as the research design by using a set of questionnaires on the Needham Model-based instructional design skill assessment sheet. A total number of 276 respondents were involved in this study. The collected data will be analysed by using descriptive statistics and the One-Way ANOVA Test. Results show that most of the in-service teachers tend to have high scores in fundamental instructional design skills, namely orientation, idea generation, idea restructuring, application of the idea, and reflection. Vocational college teachers were champions in all four phases of instructional design skills except the reflection phase. The reflection phase was championed by teachers from primary school. Meanwhile, secondary school teachers tend to achieve middle level across all instructional design skills. In conclusion, the PPG programme conducted by the university can enhance the in-service teacher’s instructional design skills.

In this paper, we study the double-qualified teacher team from the perspective of using resources in schools. Firstly, the importance of the construction of double-qualified team is explained in terms of national policies and the findings of previous scholars. Secondly, we analyze the objective problem of teachers’ difficulty in learning in enterprises under the new epidemic. Thirdly, the idea of faculty construction based on on-campus resources is proposed. The relevant analysis is then launched from three dimensions: the construction of practical training base projects, school-enterprise research cooperation and skills competition participation. In view of the Covid-19 epidemic, it is necessary to make full use of the campus resources to enhance the practical ability of teachers in vocational institutions.
