Research Article| October 01 2020 Finding Pleasure in the Pandemic: Or, Confronting COVID-19 Anxiety through Queer Feminist Pleasure Politics Michaela Frischherz Michaela Frischherz Michaela Frischherz (PhD, University of Iowa) is assistant professor of communication studies at Towson University. Michaela specializes in rhetorical criticism with an emphasis on feminist and queer ways of knowing. Her research focuses on meaning-making practices forged by women and other historically disenfranchised genders communicating pleasure and sex in public. Michaela’s research is published in Women’s Studies in Communication, Argumentation and Advocacy, Women & Language, and Sexualities. She teaches courses in sexual communication, rhetorical criticism, research methods, and gender at Towson University. When Michaela isn’t studying the communicative contours of sex and pleasure, she enjoys drinking wine and hanging out with her partner Julian, their two cats, and a bunny named Lionel.
