E-Generation of Tests and e-Class Record in a Flexible Learning Environment

As assessment is an integral part of student learning, schoolteachers need to create appropriate assessments, through the use of the Table of Specifications, to get accurate feedback from the students. Recording of student performance is also important to provide basis and transparency to student grades. However, these activities are laborious when performed. This study aims to development and validate a web application that covers the electronic generation of tests with Table of Specification (TOS) and the recording of student performances in an electronic class record (grade book). User requirements were captured through interviews and documentary analysis. The application was developed using the Agile Scrum Framework and was tested for usability using the System Usability Scale (SUS). The developed system proved to be usable with a general SUS score of 81.25 which is interpreted as usable and conforms to the given requirements. The results indicates that the developed system is very useful to the teachers specially during this pandemic period were flexible learning is utilized for teaching and learning.

Analysis Of Home Ownership Credit (KPR) Financing Flpp Prosperity For Customers Low Income (Case Study of Bank BJB Medan Branch Office)

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Sejahtera Home Ownership Credit (KPR) financing through the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) scheme implemented by Bank BJB for Low Income Communities (MBR). The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection through in-depth interviews, observation and documentation analysis. The research results show that the FLPP Prosperous KPR program run by Bank BJB has a high level of effectiveness in helping MBR have livable houses. This effectiveness is supported by several factors, including easy access to financing with low interest rates and flexible terms, significant government subsidy support, increasing the welfare of MBR through home ownership, Bank BJB's active role in socialization and education, high levels of realization and customer satisfaction. , as well as good collaboration with developers. With this achievement, the FLPP Prosperous KPR program is proven to be able to provide more affordable financing solutions and contribute to improving the quality of life for MBR. It is hoped that the results of this research can become a reference for developing more inclusive and sustainable banking policies.

Primbon Pernikahan Masyarakat Jawa Desa Suka Mulia Kecamatan Tungkal Ilir Kabupaten Banyuasin

This study describes the meaning of primbon in marriage in Javanese society in Suka Start Village, Tunggal Ilir District, Banyuasin Regency through cultural diffusion as well as describing marriage according to Islam. Primbon are the prophecies of the ancestors of the Javanese people that have been preserved until now and have spread due to transmigration during the Suharto people's government. Evidence of the existence of primbon can be found from Javanese primbon books that regulate people's lives. The framework of thought is needed to provide an explanation of the object (variable) of the subject matter in order to be more detailed, the main issues include: 1. The religious system of the people in Suka Mulia Village towards Javanese tradition and the way of primbon calendar in general. In this study there are several stages of data collection methods, history, such as observation, interviews, documentation and data analysis to reveal a research regularly and accurately. The theory used in this study uses the symbol theory, because primbon is part of a symbol that has its own meaning for the Javanese people. The object/variable to be studied is interpreting the marriage primbon script and the meaning of the primbon which has symbols. The results of this study reveal that in determining a good day (in this study, the matter of marriage), Javanese people believe in ancient primbon and predictions of good days in the implementation of marriage and the consequences of these violations so that primbon has an important meaning for the Javanese people.

Assistance in the Implementation of Character Education (Panca Adab) Based on Eastern Culture

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of management training in the implementation of character education (Panca Adab) based on eastern culture in junior high schools. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, this research involves students, teachers, and the school as subjects. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation analysis, with data analysis carried out through reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawn. The findings of the study revealed that thoroughly and systematically implemented training succeeded in improving students' understanding of character values, involvement in school activities, and the application of ethical norms in daily life. The program showed positive results in motivating students and improving their academic and social performance, with an emphasis on adapting to feedback and changing needs. The implications of these results suggest that this character education program is effective in shaping students' character and strengthening their relationships within the school community, making it a potential model for similar programs in the future.

Navigating the shadows: exports and money laundering dynamics in Bangladesh

Purpose This study aims to analyze the complex dynamics of money laundering (ML) in the export sector of developing countries, with a special focus on Bangladesh. It aims to uncover the strategies and tactics money launderers use to exploit export transactions and understand the vulnerabilities that exist in economies where enforcement agencies neglect the export industry. Design/methodology/approach This study examines Bangladesh’s export sector ML using qualitative methods. Customs officers, central bank officers, port authorities and selected exporters were interviewed semi-structured. Document analysis of Bangladesh Bank orders, media and Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate reports was also done. Qualitative data patterns were identified using theme analysis. Findings The study identifies the most vulnerable export commodities – readymade garments, agricultural items and processed foods – as prime targets for ML. Key methods of laundering include under-invoicing, over-invoicing, misdeclaration and fake documentation. The research highlights the significant risk posed by the improper use of government financial incentives and introduces the “sample shipment” method as a novel laundering tactic. The findings underscore the need for stronger oversight and controls to mitigate these risks. Research limitations/implications This research is limited by single-point data because ML is a continual activity. The reliance on case studies from newspaper reports and online platforms introduces a degree of selection bias and the chosen instances may not comprehensively represent the broader landscape of trade-based ML. Practical implications The study provides several practical recommendations for policymakers and law enforcement agencies to fortify the export sector against exploitation by money launderers, ensuring greater transparency and accountability in international trade operations. Social implications By closing loopholes in the export sector, the research supports the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 16.4, which aims to reduce illicit financial flows, thereby contributing to poverty eradication and economic stability in developing countries. Originality/value Original research results supported by technical analysis are presented in this work. It contributes to the body of knowledge by detailing the adaptive strategies of money launderers and proposing targeted recommendations for enhancing the integrity of the export sector.

Lessons learnt from the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination programme in the Southwest of England.

Vaccination remains one of the most successful public health interventions in preventing severe disease and death. The roll-out of Covid-19 vaccination programmes has helped protect billions of people around the world against Covid-19. Most of these programmes have been unprecedented in terms of scale and resources, and have been implemented at times of significant humanitarian crisis. This study aims to outline the lessons learnt from the implementation of a regional Covid-19 vaccination programme. These will help inform emergency preparedness and future crisis management. This qualitative study sought to explore the key drivers to the successful implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination programme in a region in the Southwest of England, applying the Normalisation Process Theory lens (NPT) to examine multi-stakeholder perspectives. Data collection involved semi-structured interviews with 75 participants. Document analysis was also used to corroborate the findings emerging from the interviews. Inductive thematic analysis of the data was used to identify the key drivers for the successful implementation of the programme. The NPT lens was then applied to map the themes identified to the domains and constructs of the framework. Ten key drivers to the successful implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination programme locally were identified, including: the clarity and consistency of the programme's goal; the diverse representation of stakeholders within the programme leadership team and the mechanisms created by this team to ensure psychological safety, autonomy, operational flexibility and staff empowerment; Communication and data specialists' input, and collaboration with local communities to maximise the reach of the programme; and allocating funding to tackle health inequalities. This study highlights the lessons learnt from the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination programme at a local level, and the mechanisms that can be used in future crises to respond efficiently to the needs of individuals, communities and governments.

Reflecting on Online Learning Experiences of Secondary School Teachers and Students during COVID-19

This paper examines the experiences of secondary-level students’ learning and teachers’ teaching strategies via Zoom during the COVID-19 pandemic in Nepal. The government formally announced the closure of physical classrooms to mitigate the outbreak of the coronavirus. This study utilised a qualitative interpretive research design and conducted online semi-structured interviews with the participants, observed their online classes and conducted documentary analysis. The findings of this study indicate that online learning in urban areas provided a flexible and alternative mode to physical classrooms. However, students and teachers faced challenges, such as irregular power supply, poor internet connection, expensive mobile data, lack of digital devices and limited ICT skills among teachers when it came to managing and delivering online classes. Additionally, the study highlights the inability of rural students to access online learning during lockdown. The efficacy of teachers in developing ICT and e-pedagogy skills played a crucial role in sustaining online learning. To ensure equal opportunities for quality education among students from marginalised and disadvantaged communities, it is recommended to equip schools, teachers, and students with the minimum ICT infrastructure and to provide subsidies on computers and internet access.

What matters for competent teaching? A multinational comparison of teaching practicum assessment rubrics

Practicum assessment rubrics have a backwash effect on preservice teachers' learning through the criteria they transmit. This article presents a documentary analysis of ten rubrics used across six countries: South Africa, India, England, Singapore, Canada, and Sweden. We compare the dispositions, knowledge, outcomes, and reasoning. We use Legitimation Code Theory (LCT) to show how practicum assessments are legitimated differently. Some rubrics emphasise preservice teachers’ dispositions and whether they implement protocols correctly. Others emphasise their capacity for reasoning in context. These positions call for teacher educators and policymakers to interrogate where the emphasis is in their own assessments.

Future-proofing quality education using integrated assessment systems

Purpose Current assessment models in education have focused solely on measuring knowledge and fail to address the goals of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) for a well-rounded, future-proof education. While SDG4 emphasizes quality education, traditional assessments do not account for the diverse skills and intelligence learners possess. This gap between assessment and the needs of SDG4 presents a conundrum for educators: How can we develop assessment strategies that encompass multiple intelligences and prepare learners for the future while ensuring the delivery of quality education as outlined by SDG4? This paper aims to propose integrated assessment strategies as a solution, examining their effectiveness in assessing multiple intelligences and supporting the future-proofing agenda within quality education. Design/methodology/approach The study used a qualitative research design. Interviews were held up to saturation point with 60 teachers and students purposively selected from schools in ten provinces across the country. Data from interviews were analysed using thematic network analysis. The data were complemented by documentary analysis from the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Zimbabwe documents which included Curriculum Frameworks and policy documents as well as a systematic literature review. Findings Results indicated that integrated assessment systems provide an avenue for testing deeper learning and help students acquire competencies needed in the world of work, such as problem-solving and teamwork. However, certain conditions mitigate against the effective implementation of integrated assessment in schools. Research limitations/implications This study uses the use of a qualitative research methodology, hence the generalizability of results in other settings may not be possible. The data collected from the research findings was manually coded and analysed. However, coding the data manually allowed the researchers to be fully immersed in the emerging themes enriching the study with additional data. This means that in-depth data engagement was ensured. Practical implications The paper concludes that integrated assessment provides authentic assessment which prepares learners for the future. The study recommends that the government should redress the teaching-learning environment in schools for effective implementation of integrated assessment systems so that not only one regime of intelligence is tested and future-proofing of quality is guaranteed. Originality/value The research contributes to increasing the motivation to deliver quality education by investing in integrated evaluation systems.

Evaluating Urban Village Fund Management: An Analysis of Planning, Budgeting, Implementation, Guidance, and Supervision

The management of urban village development is currently ineffective, as evidenced by deficiencies in planning, budgeting, implementation, development, and supervision. Additionally, there is a notable shortfall in the quality and quantity of human resources, compounded by inadequate involvement of regional technical officials in providing assistance and guidance. This policy paper aims to review, identify, analyze, and formulate policy recommendations to better integrate the roles of communities and community groups in urban village development. The study employed a normative qualitative approach, utilizing in-depth interviews with Village Heads and community group leaders who are directly involved in village activities and have relevant insights. Data were collected through interviews, empirical studies, and documentary analysis. The findings indicate that implementing activities related to urban village facility and infrastructure development, as well as community empowerment, is “less effective.” Consequently, it is recommended that the Makassar City Mayor Regulation Number 28 of 2020 be revised to provide more detailed guidelines for community or community-group-based activity management.

Heart on a Sleeve: An Examination of Emotions on Race Subjects in Anti-Oppressive Educational Leadership and Policy Studies

ABSTRACT Attention to leadership matters because leaders often set the tone and agenda for how academic learning occurs, is viewed, and gets valued. These agendas are influenced by social matters that turn political in conflict involving anger and sadness. Yet, emotions are not analyzed in educational leadership scholarship concerning anti-oppression and specifically race and racism subjects. As such, concerns about racial justice leadership in the current political and policy milieu warrants closely examining the role of emotion in leadership. Inspired by critical theoretical methodologies, this essay brings narrative and emotion theories in education to bear on political and policy subjects in leadership and policy, particularly those on race. The objective is to address emotion as it happens in a narrative about political and policy subjects generally, and particularly that of race and racism. This theoretical analysis demonstrates that emotions related to race matters in leadership and policy are a key. Based on this reality, advancing anti-oppressive educational leadership and policy necessitates bringing attention to a grossly neglected subject—emotion. This documentation and theoretical emotion analysis is a novel shift in how to mitigate the occupational burnout that happens during anti-oppressive education in educational leadership and policy on race subjects.

Taṣrīf Iṣṭilāhī dan Taṣrīf Lugawī Ṡulāṡī Mujarrad dalam Kitab “Al-Taṣrīf” dan “Amṡilah al-Taṣrīfiyyah”; Studi Komparatif

This research aims to determine the similarities and differences between the Sulatsi Mujarrad chapter and the two books. This study utilizes a qualitative approach, relying on library research as the main methodology. Based on literature references, documentation, and content analysis were used for the data collection method. In the analysis and interpretation stage of the collected data, the researcher applied the comparative thinking method by comparing two Ṣaraf books. The first book is At-Taṣrīf, while the second Ṣaraf book, which is the object of comparison, is Amṡilah Taṣrīfiyyah. From the results of this research, it was found that there are similarities in terms of the form of taṣrīf and differences in terms of the arrangement of taṣrīf terms and taṣrīf Lugawī. The At-Taṣrīf book has a more complete taṣrīf structure, while the Amṡilah Taṣrīfiyyah book has isim alāt, fi'il madi and mudari majhul and isim maf’ūl which are not found in the taṣrīf structure.

Exploring the role of an initiator in a population health management initiative: insights from action research

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to present the learnings of a broker organization that started a new Population Health Management initiative in two regions in the Netherlands. The research focusses on the role of the broker organization itself in supporting stakeholders in the region to adopt a new implementation strategy designed by the broker organisation itself. The basis of this model was to organize, finance and monitor differently to improve the overall health of the population.Design/methodology/approachAn action research approach was chosen to support the endeavours of the broker organization and to acquire practical knowledge on the role of a third-party in PHM implementation. Qualitative data were collected from documentary analysis, focus groups, logbooks and observational data from team meetings.FindingsThe main result is that the role of the broker organization to implement PHM was subject to change during the more than two years of the research. Several themes emerged that influenced these role changes, both internal and external, showing the complexity of providing PHM implementation support as a third-party to regional stakeholders.Practical implicationsWe hypothesize that the role of a third-party changes depending on the maturity of the regional collaboration. The complexity of the transition in healthcare calls for constant adaptations, and thus learning and reflection, from all involved. Action research is a strong tool for this.Originality/valueThis paper is one of the first to report on the role of a third-party in PHM implementation. The action research methodology offered the right amount of flexibility to adhere to the complexity of the context and provided rich insights.

Inter-organisational cooperation networks: a strategy for the knowledge-sharing and performance of higher education institutions

PurposeThis study aims to present how an inter-organisational cooperation network can contribute to the competitive performance of higher education institutions (HEI) and also to students’ academic performance. The intention is also to examine how knowledge-sharing processes should develop to meet the needs of maintaining cooperation networks.Design/methodology/approachThis study adopts a qualitative approach, using the case study (network) method. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews, group interviews and documentary analysis. The convenience sampling technique was used. Data analysis was carried out through a data triangulation process.FindingsThe general benefits arising from cooperation networks are encouraging. The HEIs improved not only through creating an environment that supports learning processes and knowledge-sharing efficiently, but also through cooperation between students and lecturers.Practical implicationsThe cooperation network experience studied here can be used by other universities or HEIs as an approach/strategy to launch a cooperation initiative in order to increase levels of knowledge, learning, innovation and competitiveness. The results also help university or HEI leaders to understand the importance of academic cooperation networks, letting them form innovative teaching strategies that stimulate academic and competitive performance, as well as economic growth.Originality/valueThe central elements of originality lie in advancing a new vision of cooperation networks, creating a new, innovative framework that considers the dimensions presented from the theoretical and practical point of view. The framework helps to understand what is necessary for network cooperation to develop and create value for HEIs. Combining different perspectives of the cooperation network inevitably represents a significant innovation.

Anti-Corruption Activism on Social Media: Public Voices against the Weakening of the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) in the Joko Widodo Era

Joko Widodo's commitment in terms of eradicating corruption in Indonesia is very low, this is shown through the neglect of public voices on social media in the discourse of weakening the KPK. This study aims to explain the widespread public rejection of all efforts to weaken the KPK and analyze the factors that cause the government to choose to be ambiguous and lead to neglect. This research uses observation methods, documentation, literature studies and big data analysis. The study presents a different perspective from research that has discussed social media activism towards the weakening of anti-corruption institutions in Indonesia. The results of this study found that anti-corruption activism on social media was effective, such as the use of hashtags, coherent logic and credible actors, contributing to the rejection of the revision of the KPK Law and the dismissal of KPK employees through the National Insight Test. However, the massive anti-corruption movement on social media has no impact on the Joko Widodo administration's policymaking in the field of eradicating corruption, this paper also reveals the strong dominance of the political elite in policy making. The conclusion of this article is that the effectiveness of movements on social media to cause public unrest does not necessarily have an impact on decision-making made by state organizers.

An Analysis Of The Recording And Assessment Methods Of Inventory At Carnova Variasi Kota Bengkulu

A better inventory system can increase profit, while a less efficient system can erode profit and make a business less competitive. The main benefit of inventory formation is to protect the company from unforeseen events and disruptions in business. The aim of this research is to analyze the recording and assessment methods of inventory at Carnova Variasi Kota Bengkulu. The recording and assessment methods of inventory, specifically for car seat covers, rice noodle carpets, and android head units at Carnova Variasi Kota Bengkulu over a 12-month period from May 2023 to April 2024, will be compared with the Financial Accounting Standards for Micro, Small, and Medium Entities (SAK EMKM) no.9 of 2018. Data collection was done through documentation and research analysis using comparative descriptive analysis. The results were in line with the recording method recommended by SAK EMKM regarding inventory. This is because Carnova Variasi Kota Bengkulu recorded inventory at the time of purchase and sale into detailed purchase and sales reports leading to a perpetual recording method system. Additionally, Carnova Variasi Kota Bengkulu used stock cards as a means of controlling its inventory. However, there are still some discrepancies such as not journalizing at the time of purchase and sale. The inventory assessment system implemented by Carnova Variasi Kota Bengkulu is the weighted average valuation method, which complies with SAK EMKM regarding inventory. This can be seen in the determination of the cost of goods sold taken from the average inventory price by dividing the total purchase price by the existing inventory. However, the inconsistency lies in the fact that Carnova Variasi Kota Bengkulu did not prepare financial statements, resulting in the absence of inventory presentation in the balance sheet.

“Defendendo a paz social”: entre a naturalização e o racismo em decisões de decretação de prisão preventiva.

This study aimed to analyze the arguments mobilized by judges to justify the issuance of preventive detention orders and to observe the existence of a relationship between these arguments and class and race factors. The methodology used was the documentary analysis of interlocutory decisions converting flagrant arrests into preventive detentions, referring to charges of theft and robbery that occurred between 2015 and 2018 in the metropolitan region of Salvador, Brazil. A total of 322 interlocutory decisions to decree preventive detention were analyzed, retrieved from the case files of Salvador Prison/BA, a unit for temporary detainees. At the end of the research, it was concluded that, among the justifications in force in Article 312 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 100% of the decisions analyzed were based on the category of guaranteeing public order, understood as social harmony offended by the dangerousness of the prisoner. This dangerousness is expressed by the concepts of criminal recidivism and modus operandi. It was also concluded that these arguments reproduce class and race stereotypes, since they use mechanisms to naturalize the group most affected by the net of the criminal justice system (young black men), depriving them of the enjoyment of citizenship and protection of fundamental rights.

Conversion of Sidewalks into Vendor Stalls: A Case Study on Mardika Street, Sirimau District, Ambon

This research examines the functional shift of sidewalks into merchant kiosks on Mardika Beach Road, Sirimau District, Ambon. The research type used is a survey method with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The research location is on Mardika Beach Road, with the implementation time from November 16 to December 16, 2023. The research population consisted of 30 merchant kiosks, with a purposive sample of 20 people. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, documentation, and data analysis. The study results show that the functional shift of sidewalks at Mardika Terminal has positive and negative impacts that need to be considered balanced. Positively, the functional change of sidewalks into trading areas provides economic opportunities for local communities to develop small businesses, create new jobs, and promote economic growth. However, on the other hand, the functional shift of sidewalks has reduced the effectiveness and comfort of pedestrian paths. The sidewalks from Mardika Beach Bridge to the small port have been used as trading locations, resulting in discomfort for pedestrians. Uncontrolled economic activities also impact traffic congestion and environmental cleanliness issues due to scattered waste. Thus, a balance between economic growth and public convenience can be optimally achieved in the Mardika Terminal area, Ambon.

The MUSIC Critical Benchmark and Nuclear Data

The Measurement of Uranium Subcritical and Critical (MUSIC) experiment was a series of measurements of critical and subcritical configurations of bare highly enriched uranium. The goal was to compare measurement methods, analysis techniques, and simulation methods across regimes of criticality and to provide high-quality validation of 235U nuclear data. A benchmark evaluation of the two critical configurations of the MUSIC experiments will soon be published in the release of the International Criticality Safety Benchmark Evaluation Project Handbook. The recent execution of the experiment aids in proper quantification of model simplifications and all uncertainties associated with the experiment. Historical benchmark evaluations are heavily relied on for uranium nuclear data validation despite the fact that the same level of documentation and comparable uncertainty analysis may not be present. The MUSIC evaluation is less likely to include “unknown unknowns” that could impede accurately modeling the system. Presented are both highly detailed and very simplified models, which represent the experimental configurations accurately, aiding the users of the benchmark for nuclear data or transport code validation. The sensitivities of k eff to nuclear data and nuclear data–related uncertainties are very similar between this experiment and previous bare uranium sphere experiments. In addition, the nuclear data uncertainties to any nuclides other than 235 U are small. For all these reasons, the recently evaluated MUSIC benchmark critical configurations could prove very useful for 235 U nuclear data validation. Currently, major libraries have good agreement with the experimental results, within 200 pcm for all nuclear data libraries, and within one standard deviation of the experimental result for most. Suggested nuclear data adjustments based on MUSIC and Lady Godiva are also presented, with posterior improvements to both the agreement in k eff and the uncertainty associated with the nuclear data.
