PERANCANGAN SISTEM PENDAFTARAN PASIEN RAWAT JALAN RUMAH SAKIT MELALUI SHORT MESSAGE SERVICE GATEWAY (Studi Kasus: RS. Panti Wilasa “Dr. Cipto” Semarang)

SMS Gateway technology used in the outpatient registration process is an applied technology in the field of information. Outpatient outpatient visits are an indication of the hospital's success in managing the public confidence of doctors and re-control of the hospital. Use of SMS Gateway System aims to facilitate the delivery of information through SMS cheap, short and readable for each recipient. This study aims to provide an outpatient registration system at Rumah Panti Wilasa Hospital "Dr. Cipto "and doctor's schedule information via SMS Gateway. The design of this SMS gateway system using System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method with 5 stages is System Planning, System Analysis, System Implementation and System Maintenance). This application design provides an SMS Gateway based registration information system that generates queue numbers for doctor checks, doctor's schedules and delivery of re-control information for patients.

Kualitas Pelayanan Kesehatan di RSUD Kabupaten Sidoarjo

The purpose of this study to discribe the quality of health care at Sidoarjo Hospitals, exactly outpatient of iclinic executives and to determines the factors that inhibiting the implementation of health care for outpatient of clinic executive. This study used a Descriptive Qualitative Method. Technique of deciding informant by snowball sampling. Primary data were obtained by in-depth interviews with key informants head room of installation pavilion Sidoarjo Hospital, two nurse of executive polyclinic Sidoarjo hospital and 12 patient and patient's family of polyclinic executive Sidoarjo hospital are as informants. The results showed that the quality of health care at policlinic executives by perseption of respondents in terms of five dimensions of service quality models ServQual include dimensional visibility physical (tangibles), reliability (reliability), responsiveness (responsiveness), assurance (assurance), empathy (empathy) overall get a positive response from community. Factor that inhibiting implementation of service quality are a lack of medical personnel (nurses) at the policlinic executives, so they have to do multi task at a same time. There are unavailable fix doctor schedule and medical facilities not integrated yet has been the factors that inhibit the implementation of health care of clinic executives too.

DAS: Personal Diabetes Management System

In this study we have presented the design and implementation of a Diabetes Assistant System (DAS) which is able to store and manage the diabetic patient's medical data. DAS (Diabetes Assistance System) is developed after studying several well-known existing diabetes management systems and includes many features that were not available in past. In addition to this many features of existing systems are redesigned for more productivity and effective disease management. DAS not only facilitates diabetic patients to manage their lifestyles but it also provides functionalities for medical practitioners and support staff for disease management features. DAS supports core features of user management, disease management, visit management and extended features for socialization. DAS is developed by focusing users' needs of mobility and ease of access hence available as web-based and mobile-based diabetes management system. DAS enables doctors to support patients remotely and view their disease history. Moreover, a doctor can manage his/her personal profile and daily schedule of online availability. Patients can manage their profiles, daily activities, test results, medications, foods intakes and appointments. In addition to this, patients can view their disease history, doctor's schedule and health tips. The support staff manages disease related information like medicines, manufacturers, tests, foods and exercises data. In addition they can view/manage doctor's schedule and appointments.

A Framework using an Evolutionary Algorithm for On-call Doctor Scheduling

In this paper, a framework is presented to outline the steps of automating doctor scheduling process using an evolutionary algorithm. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is applied within the framework to generate optimum work schedule for on-call doctors in emergency department at a public hospital in Malaysia. Currently, the doctor schedules are prepared by a head staff called captain who performs this tedious task manually where a lot of time is spent to perform this task. The main purpose of this research is to generate an optimum doctor schedule where the number of staff on duty is sufficed, individual preferences is fulfilled and all doctors are treated fairly. A systematic framework is established which can be applied to any automated on-call doctor scheduling system of emergency department in a Malaysian hospital.

Patterns of deliveries in a Brazilian birth cohort: almost universal cesarean sections for the better-off.

To describe the patterns of deliveries in a birth cohort and to compare vaginal and cesarean section deliveries. All children born to mothers from the urban area of Pelotas, Brazil, in 2004, were recruited for a birth cohort study. Mothers were contacted and interviewed during their hospital stay when extensive information on the gestation, the birth and the newborn, along with maternal health history and family characteristics was collected. Maternal characteristics and childbirth care financing - either private or public healthcare (SUS) patients - were the main factors investigated along with a description of C-sections distribution according to day of the week and delivery time. Standard descriptive techniques, Χ² tests for comparing proportions and Poisson regression to explore the independent effect of C-section predictors were the methods used. The overall C-section rate was 45%, 36% among SUS and 81% among private patients, where 35% of C-sections were reported elective. C-sections were more frequent on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, reducing by about a third on Sundays, while normal deliveries had a uniform distribution along the week. Delivery time for C-sections was markedly different among public and private patients. Maternal schooling was positively associated with C-section among SUS patients, but not among private patients. C-sections were almost universal among the wealthier mothers, and strongly related to maternal education among SUS patients. The patterns we describe are compatible with the idea that C-sections are largely done to suit the doctor's schedule. Drastic action is called for to change the current situation.

Health Care and Cancer Screening Experience of Chinese Immigrants in New York City: A Qualitative Study

The purpose of this exploratory study was to assess the health care and cancer screening experience of Chinese immigrants in New York City and identify health care delivery system barriers to cancer education and screening activities. A qualitative, exploratory research methodology based on a grounded theory approach was used. Thirty-nine low-income and medically underserved Chinese men and women participated in 4 focus group sessions and 14 in-depth interviews. Findings revealed numerous barriers experienced by participants: red tape and bureaucracy in the health care system, provider insensitivity to their concerns, lack of availability in doctor schedule, long waiting time in clinics, and fragmentation of the medical care system. This study highlighted the importance of cultural relevancy and appropriateness in the design and implementation of effective cancer screening programs for this population.

REGIONAL ALLIANCES—WHAT THEY COULD DO

Under the health bill, almost all Americans must buy basic health coverage through the "regional alliance" where they live. Regional alliances are governmentrun monopolies that decide which health plans will be offered, collect premiums from employers and residents, and pay most of the premium money to insurers and HMOs ... The alliance limits what we can pay our own doctor. The alliance posts a schedule of doctors' fees, and it is illegal for doctors to accept more (pages 131, 231-232). The consequences of price controls are predictable. In Japan, where similar controls are in place, doctors hurry from examining room to examining room, seeing on average 49 patients a day to compensate for low fees and to make ends meet. American doctors will do the same. In the U.S., when Medicare administrators froze physician reimbursement rates a decade ago, doctors compensated by stretching out treatments over several quick visits, to see patients more often. In a last-ditch effort to make Canadian price controls work, Ontario and Quebec put legal limits on physicians' incomes to eliminate the incentive to see patients more often.
