Optical wireless power transmission (OWPT), a new WPT alternative, is a promising solution to tackle the challenges like providing over watt-level power over meter-level distance that conventional WPT technologies face, to provide convenient and perpetual energy supply to the internet of things (IoT), mobile devices, and other various electrical equipments. In the OWPT system, in a room which has a light source at the ceiling, the beam deformation caused by changing the light beam direction affects the power generation efficiency reduction. Investigating and improving the performance of the power generation efficiency of OWPT system is necessary. In this paper, numerical analysis of the power generation efficiency of the solar cell module in a room was investigated. In the case of fixed light divergence angle, the efficiency reduced rapidly when the solar cell is located within a few meters from the room center. Therefore, continuous change of the divergence angle is required. In addition, we proposed a new configuration of the OWPT system with mirrors and clarified that using mirror to transmit light to the solar cell is useful in a wide range of indoor OWPT systems.
