Cybersecurity Maturity of Turkey: An Assessment with ENISA’s National Capabilities Assessment Framework (NCAF)

In this study, Turkey's cybersecurity maturity level was assessed using the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity's (ENISA) National Capabilities Assessment Framework (NCAF). The results of other global cybersecurity indices for Turkey were also given to support the NCAF assessment. Additionally, Turkey’s organizations, legal framework, public and private sector, academic landscape, incident response capabilities and military capabilities were presented through an extensive literature review. In this respect, this is the most up-to-date cybersecurity capability analysis of Turkey in English. According to the findings from NCAF assessment, Turkey has high level of cybersecurity maturity level while there are various areas that need improvement, including supply chain security, contingency strategies, education and training, security and trustworthiness of digital identity and public digital services. The methodology and findings of this study can serve as a reference for researchers to measure the cybersecurity levels of other countries.

BIOLOGICAL AUTHENTICATION VOTING SYSTEM USING BLOCKCHAIN

The "Biological Authentication Voting System using Blockchain" marks a significant advancement in electoral processes by introducing a secure and efficient online voting solution.This project integrates cutting edge biometric authentication specifically ,fingerprint and facial recognition with the transparency and immutability of blockchain technology. This cohesive integration aims to fortify the security, accessibility, and inclusivity of the electoral process .The core functionality of the system involves the incorporation of advanced biometric authentication during user registration, establishing a secure digital identity for both voters and candidates. This identity becomes the linchpin during the voting process, providing a robust security layer that not only mitigates identity theft but also ensures the legitimacy of participants. Eubacterium album sp. nov., a butyrate-producing bacterium isolated from faeces of a healthy human.

An oval to rod-shaped, Gram-stain-positive, strictly anaerobic bacterium, designated LFL-14T, was isolated from the faeces of a healthy Chinese woman. Cells of the strain were non-spore-forming, grew optimally at 37 °C (growth range 30-45 °C) and pH 7.0 (growth range 6.0-9.0) under anaerobic conditions in the liquid modified Gifu anaerobic medium (mGAM). The result of 16S rRNA gene-based analysis indicated that LFL-14T shared an identity of 94.7 0% with Eubacterium ventriosum ATCC 27560T, indicating LFL-14T represented a novel taxon. The results of genome-based analysis revealed that the average nucleotide identity (ANI), the digital DNA-DNA hybridisation (dDDH) and average amino acid identity (AAI) between LFL-14T and its phylogenetically closest neighbour, Eubacterium ventriosum ATCC 27560T, were 77.0 %, 24.6 and 70.9 %, respectively, indicating that LFL-14T represents a novel species of the genus Eubacterium. The genome size of LFL-14T was 2.92 Mbp and the DNA G+C content was 33.14 mol%. We analysed the distribution of the genome of LFL-14T in cohorts of healthy individuals, type 2 diabetes patients (T2D) and patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). We found that its abundance was higher in the T2D cohort, but it had a low average abundance of less than 0.2 % in all three cohorts. The percentages of frequency of occurrence in the T2D, healthy and NAFLD cohorts were 48.87 %, 16.72 % and 13.10 % respectively. The major cellular fatty acids of LFL-14T were C16 : 0 (34.4 %), C17 : 0 2-OH (21.4 %) and C14 : 0 (11.7 %). Additionally, the strain contained diphosphatidylglycerol (DPG) and phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), as well as unidentified phospholipids and unidentified glycolipids. The glucose fermentation products of LFL-14T were acetate and butyrate. In summary, On the basis of its chemotaxonomic, phenotypic, phylogenetic and phylogenomic properties, strain LFL-14T (= CGMCC 1.18005T = KCTC 25580T) is identified as representing a novel species of the genus Eubacterium, for which the name Eubacterium album sp. nov. is proposed.

Generating learning through the crowd

Social media and higher education pedagogy have enjoyed a chequered relationship with significant debates about the efficacy of social media as a site of student centred learning, the manager/host of an individual’s learning trajectory and as a tool of facilitating collaborative learning at scale. This paper presents the findings from the evaluation of Constitution UK, an innovative civic engagement and open learning project run by the London School of Economics and Political Science (UK). This was the lead initiative in an institution-wide shift in pedagogical approach, designed to transform the learning experience through supporting students to be co-producers of knowledge. We argue that some of the behaviours inherent in social media learning (centred on fleeting connections, digital identity and discontinuous engagement) can create the conditions for effective learning through experience and practice, both at scale in open, online modes as well in the face-to-face delivery environment. Challenging the dominant pedagogical approaches of other massive online programmes, Constitution UK brought together a civil community of people engaging in the process of digital citizenship that produced a crowdsourced constitution for the United Kingdom. The learning design of the project successfully engineered both learning and problem solving at scale. The key aspects of the project arising from how social media can facilitate critical thinking, engagement, peer and crowd learning have informed pedagogical change within the mainstream provision of the School for initiatives such as Students as Producers, civic engagement over Brexit and games-based learning.

Parasedimentitalea denitrificans sp. nov., a novel denitrifying bacteria isolated from the Yellow Sea and transfer of Zongyanglinia huanghaiensis and Zongyanglinia marina to the genus Parasedimentitalea as Parasedimentitalea huanghaiensis comb. nov. and Parasedimentitalea maritima nom. nov.

A Gram-stain-negative and rod-shaped bacterium, designated strain CY04T, was isolated from a sediment sample collected from the Yellow Sea. CY04T exhibited the highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity of 98.7 % to Zongyanglinia huanghaiensis CY05T, followed by the similarities of 98.6 %, 98.0 and 98.0 % to Zongyanglinia marina DSW4-44T, Parasedimentitalea marina W43T and Parasedimentitalea psychrophila QS115T respectively. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene and phylogenomic analysis based on genome sequences revealed that CY04T formed a robust cluster with Z. huanghaiensis CY05T, Z. marina DSW4-44T, P. marina W43T and P. psychrophila QS115T. Calculated digital DNA-DNA hybridisation and average nucleotide identity values between CY04T and its closely related species were 22.2-23.7 % and 79.0-81.2 % respectively. Cells of CY04T were strictly aerobic, non-motile and positive for catalase, oxidase and denitrification. CY04T harboured a set of genes encoding the enzymes involved in denitrification. Growth occurred at 10-30 °C (optimum, 20 °C), at pH 6.5-9.5 (optimum, pH 8.0) and with 1-6 % (w/v) (optimum, 2.5 %,) NaCl. The major component of the fatty acids was summed feature 8 (C18 : 1ω7c and/or C18 : 1ω6c). The isoprenoid quinone was Q-10. Results of the phenotypic, chemotaxonomic and molecular study indicate that strain CY04T represents a novel species of the genus Parasedimentitalea, for which the name Parasedimentitalea denitrificans sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is CY04T (=MCCC 1K08635T=KCTC 62199T). It is also proposed that Zongyanglinia huanghaiensis and Zongyanglinia marina should be reclassified as Parasedimentitalea huanghaiensis comb. nov. and Parasedimentitalea maritima nom. nov. An emended description of the genus Parasedimentitalea is also proposed.

Isolation and characterization of a novel Waltera species and reclassification of Brotolimicola acetigignens Hitch et al. 2022 as Waltera acetigignens comb. nov.

Obligately anaerobic, Gram-stain-negative, wavy rods, strains 17YCFAHCo10, 18YCFAH0.3Co2 and 19YCFAH0.3Co2, were isolated from faecal samples of healthy Japanese people. The three isolates showed the highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity to Waltera intestinalis WCA3-601-WT-6HT (99.2-100 %) and Brotolimicola acetigignens f_CXYT (99.2-99.7 %). The 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis showed that the three isolates formed a cluster with W. intestinalis WCA3-601-WT-6HT. Strain 19YCFAH0.3Co2 formed a subcluster with the type strain of W. intestinalis and did not form a cluster with the other two isolates. B. acetigignens f_CXYT also formed a cluster with W. intestinalis WCA3-601-WT-6HT and three isolates. The digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) and average nucleotide identity (ANI) values between strain 19YCFAH0.3Co2 and W. intestinalis WCA3-601-WT-6HT were higher (72 % dDDH and 97 % ANI) than the cut-off values for species delimitation, indicating that strain 19YCFAH0.3Co2 is W. intestinalis. On the other hand, the dDDH and ANI values between strains 17YCFAHCo10 and 18YCFAH0.3Co2 and the type strain of W. intestinalis were lower (<34 % dDDH and <87 % ANI) than the cut-off values for species delimitation, indicating that these two isolates are different species from W. intestinalis. The percentage of conserved proteins and the average amino acid identity values support the assignment of the isolates to the genus Waltera. Strains 17YCFAHCo10 and 18YCFAH0.3Co2 could be distinguished from W. intestinalis by their inability to ferment melibiose and ribose and lack of activity for β-glucuronidase. In addition, the dDDH and ANI values between two strains (17YCFAHCo10 and 18YCFAH0.3Co2) and B. acetigignens f_CXYT were higher (>78 % dDDH and >97 % ANI), indicating these two strains and B. acetigignens are the same species. As the genus Waltera has priority, B. acetigignens is transferred to the genus Waltera as Waltera acetigignens comb. nov. The type strain of W. acetigignens is f_CXYT (=JCM 34988T=DSM 107528T).

Discovery and characterization of a novel pathogen Erwinia pyri sp. nov. associated with pear dieback: taxonomic insights and genomic analysis.

In 2022, a novel disease similar to pear fire blight was found in a pear orchard in Zhangye City, Gansu Province, China. The disease mainly damages the branches, leaves, and fruits of the plant. To identify the pathogen, tissue isolation and pathogenicity testing (inoculating the potential pathogen on healthy plant tissues) were conducted. Furthermore, a comprehensive analysis encompassing the pathogen's morphological, physiological, and biochemical characteristics and whole-genome sequencing was conducted. The results showed that among the eight isolates, the symptoms on the detached leaves and fruits inoculated with isolate DE2 were identical to those observed in the field. Verifying Koch's postulates confirmed that DE2 was the pathogenic bacterium that causes the disease. Based on a 16S rRNA phylogenetic tree, isolate DE2 belongs to the genus Erwinia. Biolog and API 20E results also indicated that isolate DE2 is an undescribed species of Erwinia. Isolate DE2 was negative for oxidase. Subsequently, the complete genome sequence of isolate DE2 was determined and compared to the complete genome sequences of 29 other Erwinia species based on digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) and average nucleotide identity (ANI) analyses. The ANI and dDDH values between strain DE2 and Erwinia species were both below the species thresholds (ANI < 95-96%, dDDH<70%), suggesting that isolate DE2 is a new species of Erwinia. We will temporarily name strain DE2 as Erwinia pyri sp. nov. There were 548 predicted virulence factors in the genome of strain DE2, comprising 534 on the chromosome and 5 in the plasmids. The whole genome sequence of strain DE2 has been submitted to the NCBI database (ASM3075845v1) with accession number GCA_030758455.1. The strain DE2 has been preserved at the China Center for Type Culture Collection (CCTCC) under the deposit number CCTCC AB 2024080. This study represents the initial report of a potentially new bacterial species in the genus Erwinia that causes a novel pear dieback disease. The findings provide a valuable strain resource for the study of the genus Erwinia and establish a robust theoretical foundation for the prevention and control of emerging pear dieback diseases.

A Teacher Competence Model and Measurement Based on Smart Education

Objective: This study mainly explores the impact of professional identity and digital literacy on the teacher ability of normal school graduates in the context of smart education and its impact channels and mechanisms. Theoretical Framework: Based on the research objectives and research hypotheses, we constructed a comprehensive conceptual model to understand the impact, impact pathways and mechanisms of professional identity and digital literacy on teacher competency of normal college students Method: The research uses a method that combines theoretical analysis and empirical investigation and combines positive psychology and teachers' professional development stage theory. This study established a competency structure model suitable for measuring normal college students. It used scale tools such as the College Students' Professional Identity Scale and the College Students' Learning Engagement Scale and used statistical methods such as structural equation modeling (SEM) and multiple regression to analyze the questionnaires. Results and Discussion: Examine the impact of professional identity and learning investment on teacher competency of normal college students, analyze the size of the influencing factors, measure the current competency level of normal college graduate teachers, analyze existing problems, and propose improvement strategies, thereby exploring the transformation of teacher education under the background of smart education basic logic and realistic path. Research Implications: The sample size and representativeness of this study are limited to one local undergraduate normal university. Therefore, there are still many shortcomings in this study, which need to be further deepened and improved in future research. Originality/Value: This study explores the relationship between teacher competence and digital literacy, professional identity, learning engagement, and learning efficacy among teacher trainees, and examines the mediating role of learning engagement and learning efficacy in the relationship between professional identity and learning. This is beneficial for us to gain a deeper understanding of the formation of teacher competence among teacher trainees in the context of smart education

Flavobacterium acetivorans sp. nov. and Flavobacterium galactosidilyticum sp. nov., psychrotolerant flavobacteria isolated from cultivated fish.

Two yellow-coloured strains, F-29T and F-340T, were isolated from fish farms in Antalya and Mugla in 2015 and 2017 during surveillance studies. The 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis showed that both strains belong to the genus Flavobacterium. A polyphasic approach involving a comprehensive genome analysis was employed to ascertain the taxonomic provenance of the strains. The overall genome-relatedness indices of digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) and average nucleotide identity (ANI) between the strains and the other members of the genus Flavobacterium were found to be well below the established thresholds of 70 and 95 %, respectively. The whole-genome-based phylogenetic analysis revealed that strain F-29T is closely related to Flavobacterium granuli (dDDH 39.3 % and ANI 89.4 %), while strain F-340T has a close relationship with the type strain of Flavobacterium pygoscelis (dDDH 25.6 % and ANI 81.5 %). Both strains were psychrotolerant with an optimum growth temperature of 25 °C. The chemotaxonomic characteristics of the strains were typical of the genus Flavobacterium. Both strains had phosphatidylethanolamine, aminolipids and unidentified lipids in their polar lipid profile and MK-6 as the isoprenoid quinone. The major fatty acids were iso-C15 : 0 and anteiso-C15 : 0. The genome size of the strains was 3.5 Mb, while G+C contents were 35.3 mol% for strain F-29T and 33.4 mol% for strain F-340T. Overall, the characterizations confirmed that both strains are representatives of two novel species within the genus Flavobacterium, for which the names Flavobacterium acetivorans sp. nov. and Flavobacterium galactosidilyticum sp. nov. are proposed, with F-29T (JCM 34193T=KCTC 82253T) and F-340T (JCM 34203T=KCTC 82263T) as the type strains, respectively.

This abstract delves into the dynamics of an NFT marketplace that caters to a diverse range of commodities, offering a seamless platform for buyers and sellers alike. This innovative marketplace leverages blockchain technology to tokenize both new and used products, providing each item with a unique digital identity that is securely stored on the blockchain. The use of NFTs ensures authenticity and provenance, instilling trust among users and mitigating the risk of counterfeit goods. The platform employs smart contracts to automate transactions, streamlining the buying and selling process while reducing the need for intermediaries.

Blockchain end user adoption and societal challenges: Exploring privacy, rights, and security dimensions

AbstractThe focus of this review article is on the societal problems and end user acceptance of blockchain technology. The paper begins by outlining the importance of blockchain in modernizing trust and data management systems and highlighting its rapid spread across numerous industries. In‐depth analysis of the adoption‐influencing aspects is done, which also lists the advantages and typical end‐user problems. It examines the privacy implications, restrictions on pseudonymity, and function of technologies that improve privacy, such as zero‐knowledge proofs, while also exploring the legal and regulatory environment around blockchain, putting a focus on digital identity, intellectual property, and data ownership. It also evaluates blockchain security features, such as flaws and risks associated with smart contracts, discusses best practices for boosting security, discusses the societal effects of blockchain, and makes suggestions for legislators, companies, and scholars. The use of blockchain technology and its effects on privacy, rights, and security are discussed in real‐world case studies as well.

Streptomyces pyxinae sp. nov. and Streptomyces pyxinicus sp. nov. isolated from lichen Pyxine cocoes (Sw.) Nyl.

Two novel actinobacteria, designated as LP05-1T and LP11T, were isolated from the lichen Pyxine cocoes (Sw.) Nyl. collected in Bangkok, Thailand. Genotypic and phenotypic analyses revealed that both strains represented members of the genus Streptomyces. The 16S rRNA gene of LP05-1T showed the highest similarity to the genome of Streptomyces gelaticus (98.41 %), while the 16S rRNA gene of LP11T was most similar to that of Streptomyces cinerochromogenes (98.93 %). The major menaquinones in LP05-1T were MK-9(H8), MK-9(H6), MK-9(H4) and MK-9(H2), and in LP11T, they were MK-9(H8) and MK-9(H6). Both strains exhibited the major fatty acids iso-C15 : 0, anteiso-C15 : 0, iso-C16 : 0 and anteiso-C17 : 0, with LP05-1T also possessing iso-C17 : 0. The polar lipids of LP05-1T included phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol, diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylinositol, phosphatidylinositol mannoside and an unidentified lipid, while those of LP11T consisted of phosphatidylethanolamine, lyso-phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol, diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylinositol, phosphatidylinositol mannoside, an unidentified aminolipid and an unidentified glycolipid. The digital DNA-DNA hybridisation (dDDH) and average nucleotide identity (ANI) values indicated that both strains are distinct from each other with values below 70 and 95 %, respectively. dDDH, ANI by blast (ANIb) and ANI by MUMmer (ANIm) values between LP05-1T and its closely related type strains were 26.07-26.80 %, 81.24-82.01 % and 86.82-86.96 %, respectively, while those for LP11T and its closely related type strains were 30.70-31.70 %, 84.09-85.31 % and 88.02-88.39 %, respectively. The results of the taxonomic investigation, including dDDH and ANI values, indicate that LP05-1T and LP11T are novel type strains of two novel species within the genus Streptomyces. The names proposed are Streptomyces pyxinae sp. nov. for strain LP05-1T (=TBRC 15494T, =NBRC 115434T) and Streptomyces pyxinicus sp. nov. for strain LP11T (=TBRC 15493T, =NBRC 115421T).

Detek AI is a frontrunner in innovative technology aimed at combating deepfake content, safeguarding individuals and organizations from misinformation, and upholding the integrity of online platforms. 생성형 인공지능 활용 기술교과 교수․학습 프로그램이 중학생의 디지털 시민성 함양에 미치는 효과

The purpose of this study is to develop a learning program using generative AI in the information and communication technology area of middle school technology subjects and to investigate the impact of this learning experience on middle school students' Digital Citizenship. we developed a learning program using generative AI in the 'Communication Technology and Communication' section of the information and communication technology area of middle school technology subjects, and applied it to A middle school to determine whether it was effective in cultivating Digital Citizenship in middle school students. Quantitative and qualitative analysis were used, and pre- and post-tests were conducted on a single group. As a result of the study, information and communication technology learning using generative AI in the developed technology curriculum was found to be effective in cultivating Digital Citizenship in middle school students. The sub-factors of Digital Citizenship that showed effectiveness were digital security, empathy, digital social identity, and critical thinking. In addition, the effects and implications of the developed program were derived through analysis of students' learning outcomes, satisfaction, and opinions. In order to cultivate Digital Citizenship, learning using generative AI in the information and communication technology area of technical subjects was confirmed to have educational value and to be suitable for achieving achievement standards. It is expected that the technology teaching and learning program using generative artificial intelligence used in this study can be meaningfully used as a program to cultivate Digital Citizenship in middle school students. together. We hope that research will continue in various subjects to cultivate Digital Citizenship in middle school students, and that this study will be used as a reference for research on cultivating Digital Citizenship in technology subjects.

Alterity-space: national spatiality in Lasnamäe, Estonia

This research investigates the relationship between the city and the state in framing the national belonging of space as arenas of inclusion and difference within the nation. It is argued that bringing Isin and Lefebvre into dialogue allows for a genealogical analysis of space as a social product imbued in and constituted by narratives of national inclusion (or exclusion). This research develops the concept of alterity-space as a distinct spatial category in which the constitution of citizenship is inscribed on socially produced space. This alterity-space refers to categories of difference as an internal other of space at odds with the space of the nation. Alterity-space as a concept invites reflection on how state engagement, competing symbolisms, narratives, and interactions produce spatiality and create mechanisms of othering that obscure other articulations of national belonging in space. This approach is illustrated through a genealogical examination of Lasnamäe, an urban district at the heart of Estonia’s capital. In the constitution of national, ecological, digital, and European identities, Lasnamäe is positioned as an alterity-space to Tallinn and Estonia. This positioning reflects how space itself becomes imbued as an immediate other at odds with Estonia’s past and future of national belonging.

Evaluation of trust service and software product regimes for zero-knowledge proof development under eIDAS 2.0

This paper delves into two legal models for zero-knowledge proof protocols in the context of the eIDAS 2.0 Regulation: a trust service or a software product. The ARIES: reliAble euRopean Identity EcoSystem EU project highlighted the need for a legal framework for stakeholders to accept proof of the existence of user data with legal certainty, while Hyperledger Indy shows that ZKP solutions are currently commercialized, stressing deficiencies in the eIDAS 2.0. An overview of ZKP applied to identity, its relationship to the European Digital Identity Wallet and the electronic attestations of attributes, both introduced by the eIDAS 2.0, and Self-Sovereign Identity systems, leads to the central question of proof of the existence of user-held data as a trust service or as a software product and its data privacy implications for each approach. Finally, we outline a possible solution based on the product approach for future work. Our findings reveal that ZKP technology must have legal value and a presumption system to be effective. However, the path we take could lead us either to develop a system of surveillance and control in electronic environments or to build an environment where we share not the data itself but proof of its existence.

Financial institutions must continuously adapt to the changing regulatory environment and leverage technological solutions to maintain the integrity of their KYC processes. This proactive approach is crucial not only for compliance but also for building trust between customers and stakeholders in an era where financial security and transparency are paramount. KYC procedures have been simplified and brought up to date by utilizing technology innovations like biometric authentication and digital identity verification. Navigating the Digital Landscape: Unveiling Language Dynamics and Digital Identity among Indonesia’s Contemporary Generation

This research article investigates the impact of the Internet on language development and digital linguistics in Indonesia. It explores the search frequency and familiarity trends of Indonesian words and phrases, examining their connection to social change and identity. The study utilizes the Google Trend platform to collect data from 2018 to 2023, capturing the prevalence of the Indonesian language in Google searches. The research incorporates a comparative analysis of online data from social media, incorporating ethnographic interviews with 30 participants, and conducting a comprehensive lexicon survey. 77 Indonesian words and phrases are collected and analyzed, providing insights into familiarity patterns. Additionally, interviews and surveys are conducted with Indonesian university students to understand their attitudes towards language, its role in shaping identities, internet usage, and societal norms. The analysis focuses on 40 selected words, investigating their correlation with language patterns, identity formation, emotions, and societal conventions. The findings reveal how neologisms within Indonesia’s digital linguistic landscape reflect societal shifts, including contemporary events, social media trends, and societal pressures. The proliferation of trending words aligned with themes of identity, societal norms, and emotional well-being highlights the influence of social media and the Internet on language dissemination. These changes are deeply embedded in Indonesia’s digital linguistic milieu and are further elucidated through interviews, offering insights into internet users’ linguistic practices. The study emphasizes the importance of tracking language and societal trends for self-expression and integration into diverse communities. It also highlights the reciprocal relationship between self-identity and communal influence on language development. This research contributes to understanding language dynamics and digital identity in the Indonesian context, revealing the complex interplay between language, society, and individual perspectives.

Oerskovia flava sp. nov., a deoxynivalenol (DON)-degrading actinomycete isolated from the rhizosphere soil of long-term continuous cropping cucumber.

The deoxynivalenol (DON)-degrading bacterium JB1-3-2T was isolated from a rhizosphere soil sample of cucumber collected from a greenhouse located in Zhenjiang, Eastern China. The JB1-3-2T strain is a Gram-stain-positive, nonmotile and round actinomycete. Growth was observed at temperatures between 15 and 40 ℃ (optimum, 35 ℃), in the presence of 15% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 3%), and at pH 3 and 11 (optimum, 7). The major cellular fatty acids identified were anteiso-C15:0, iso-C16:0 and anteiso-C17:0. Genome sequencing revealed a genome size of 4.11Mb and a DNA G + C content of 72.5mol%. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that the JB1-3-2T strain was most closely related to type strains of the Oerskovia species, with the highest sequence similarity to Oerskovia turbata NRRL B-8019T (98.2%), and shared 98.1% sequence identity with other valid type strains of this genus. Digital DNA‒DNA hybridization (dDDH) and average nucleotide identity (ANI) showed 21.8-22.2% and 77.2-77.3% relatedness, respectively, between JB1-3-2T and type strains of the genus Oerskovia. Based on genotypic, phylogenetic, chemotaxonomic, physiological and biochemical characterization, Oerskovia flava, a novel species in the genus Oerskovia, was proposed, and the type strain was JB1-3-2T (= CGMCC 1.18555T = JCM 35248T). Additionally, this novel strain has a DON degradation ability that other species in the genus Oerskovia do not possess, and glutathione-S-transferase was speculated to be the key enzyme for strain JB1-3-2T to degrade DON.
