Research on Blockchain in Supply Chain Finance Risk Management

With the development of supply chain finance, the business process of supply chain finance is more complex, and the participants are more diversified, bringing new risks to supply chain finance. Based on studying the risk sources and types of supply chain finance, combined with the core technology of blockchain and taking the blockchain + supply chain finance accounts receivable financing mode as an example, this paper proposes that blockchain can solve the problem of information asymmetry by reshaping the information flow of supply chain finance, breaking down information barriers, improving the credibility and transparency of information and expanding the scope of credit through smart contracts and distributed ledger technologies. In addition, financial institutions can reduce moral hazards and review costs caused by human operations through the characteristic advantages of blockchain consensus mechanism and traceability and ensure the authenticity and security of transaction information through the asymmetric key method and sharing mechanism of blockchain.

Dynamic Evolution of Repeated Pledge in FTW from the Perspective of Blockchain Empowerment

Due to information asymmetry, finance, transportation and warehouse financing gives rise to the issue of repeated pledge, which amplifies the risk of the loan business of financial institutions. In tandem with advancements in fintech, blockchain technology plays a significant role in the supply chain finance realm, primarily because of its core characteristics of being difficult to tamper with and decentralized. Therefore, this study constructed an evolutionary game model involving financial institutions, small- and medium-sized enterprises, and third-party logistics enterprises under a blockchain-enabled model and scrutinized the repeated pledge of financing entities in the finance, transportation and warehouse financing sector from the perspective of blockchain empowerment. The results show that the platform access fee being lower than the cost of conducting a financing business and the immutable characteristics of blockchain are important reasons to promote financial institutions to choose access to blockchain. The permanent retention of performance records owing to immutable performance under the blockchain model intensifies the consequences of dishonest behavior of small- and medium-sized enterprises and third-party logistics enterprises, thus encouraging the adoption of positive financing strategies. Additionally, the additional income obtained by third-party logistics enterprises’ covering behavior surpasses the additional income obtained by the repeated pledge behavior of small- and medium-sized enterprises, which will dismantle collusion between them. This study serves as a valuable reference for decision makers in the development of supply chain finance empowered by fintech.

Technology Innovation, Financing Risk and Control in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Supply Chain

With the development of supply chain finance, micro and small enterprises can effectively solve their financing difficulties and improve the flow of funds in the supply chain. This paper reviews the work done by past research in solving the financing problems of MSMEs, credit risk assessment and control, and the development of new technologies in supply chain finance. It discusses how technology affects the efficiency and security of supply chain finance and takes small and medium-sized enterprises as carriers to carry out a broader theoretical analysis of risk control and assessment. At the same time, the paper analyses the application of currently popular and advanced technologies, such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things, in solving the financing challenges of SMEs. In addition, the paper discusses and compares the risk assessment and control of micro and small enterprise financing and supply chain finance risk control and proposes corresponding solutions and models.

Nexus of Financing Constraints and Supply Chain Finance: Evidence from Listed SMEs in China

As opposed to developed markets, financing constraints are a more pressing issue among Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in emerging markets. We explore the severity of financing constraints on SMEs, and examine the role of supply chain finance (SCF) in alleviating those constraints, with the focus on a large emerging market: China. Using the panel data of SMEs listed on Shenzhen Stock Exchange from 2014 to 2020, we employ robust estimations of panel-corrected standard errors (PCSEs) and robust fixed-effects methods to analyze the issue. Our cash–cash-flow sensitivity model points out that listed SMEs in China show significant cash–cash-flow sensitivity, and financing constraints are prevalent. We document that the development of SCF has a mitigation effect on the financing constraints on the SMEs. Our robustness test with Yohai’s MM-estimator is also supportive of the main finding. Our study indicates the importance of supply chain finance development in alleviating the financing constraints on SMEs and, subsequently, supporting their sustainability journey. Overall, our findings have important policy implications for the stakeholders involved in emerging markets, and there are lessons to be learned from the Chinese experience. There is still much to be explored in the nexus of SCF and the financing difficulties of SMEs in China at present, with much of the extant literature concentrating only on specific financing mechanisms. Thus, our study fills the gap by providing a broad and comprehensive analysis of the issue.

Channel selection and pricing strategy with supply chain finance and blockchain

Some emerge technologies (e.g., blockchain) and new business models (e.g., e-commerce platform) are utilized to promote the digitalization of supply chains. In this paper, we study the channel selection (direct channel/e-commerce platform) and pricing (wholesale pricing/agency pricing) strategies for a capital constrained supplier in the digital supply chain with the consideration of supply chain finance and blockchain. The supplier can sell through the direct channel or the e-commerce platform. When selling through the e-commerce platform, it can choose agency pricing or wholesale pricing mode, as well as whether to obtain financial supports through supply chain finance with blockchain technology. We show that the application of supply chain finance is not always beneficial for the supplier. The initial capital of the supplier plays an important role in channel selection. Besides, the adoption of blockchain technology can promote the development of supply chain finance. Regardless of wholesale pricing or agency pricing, the adoption of blockchain technology is always beneficial to suppliers. However, for the e-commerce platform, the adoption of blockchain technology can bring an increase in the interest and increase the profits of the e-commerce platform, only when the initial capital of the supplier is relatively low.

Research on the Realistic Dilemma and Path of Rural Supply Chain Financial Policy Implementation

With the proposal of rural revitalization strategy, rural inclusive finance plays an increasingly important role in the economic development of rural areas. Under the support and guidance of relevant national policies, China has vigorously developed rural supply chain finance in recent years, and issued a series of policies to promote the development of supply chain finance from the state to the provinces and cities at all levels. However, due to the lack of service awareness of financial institutions, insufficient policy publicity and the low level of modernization of agriculture and rural areas, China's supply chain financial policies are difficult to implement. Based on the above practical problems, this paper puts forward the optimization path to promote the implementation of rural supply chain finance policies in China, so as to effectively play the role of supply chain finance in solving the financing difficulties in rural areas and promote the stable and healthy development of rural economy in China.

Quadripartite Evolutionary Game of Sustainable Development of Supply Chain Finance with Government Participation

Under the background of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, green supply chain finance (GSCF) points out the sustainable development direction of supply chain finance (SCF). In order to study the mutual influence of GSCF participants’ decision-making and the effectiveness of government promotion, this paper builds an evolutionary game (EG) model that consist of “governments, financial institutions (FIs), core enterprises (CEs) and small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)”, discusses the stability of strategy selection, and uses MATLAB to conduct numerical simulations. The research results show that: (1) Government’s participation can effectively promote the sustainable development of SCF; (2) In order to maximize incentives for FIs to carry out a GSCF business, large penalties for non-loan and subsidies similar to the income difference between traditional commercial loans and green loans (GL) should be implemented at the same time; (3) The stability of supply chain (SC) cooperation and reasonable risk compensation to CEs can promote its guarantee; (4) The increase in the expected profit of SC and the increase in the positive effect of GM in the industry are conducive to promoting GM in SMEs.

Research on I-M Model of Supply Chain Risk Path Identification

Through literature analysis and expert interviews, 15 factors affecting the development of the supply chain finance industry were identified, and the ISM method was used to construct a hierarchical structure chart of the factors, so as to analyze the relationship between the upper and lower levels of the factors and the factors affecting the development of the supply chain finance, and then MICMAC was used to further analyze the driving force and dependence of the 15 factors. The results show that market price instability, market demand instability, improper behavior and cash flow fracture are the outermost influencing factors, which are highly dependent and vulnerable to other factors; However, the failure to adopt new production technologies, the unhealthy operation of enterprises, and the low business ability of enterprises are the deepest and most fundamental factors that affect the stability of supply chain finance. They are the innermost factors that drive the development of supply chain finance. This study takes the influencing factors of the development of the entire supply chain finance industry in China as the research object, and the research results have certain universality and dependence. When China’s supply chain finance is faced with development problems related to this study, it can provide the basis for reflection and solutions.

The emerging ICT technology is applied in the financial field in the fastest and most common way. Under the background that the development of supply chain finance is encouraged in China to solve the difficulties faced by small and medium-sized enterprises in accessing affordable financing, this study focuses on the application of blockchain technology by analyzing its internal strength and weakness through the PEST-SWOT model as well as the opportunities and challenges in the external politics (P), economy (E), society (S) and technology (T). Rural revitalization has become a hot topic in the academic community, to achieve this goal, a policy-oriented approach is needed to deconstruct the rural economy and industries in the current context of the digital agricultural reform, e-commerce and finance. To assess the feasibility of rural revitalization, a combination of offline field visits, online surveys, and data analysis using DL economic models were employed. However, the sample size of online surveys was limited due to the low availability of electronic devices in rural areas, which may have affected the accuracy and generalizability of the results. One of the proposed solutions for the rural revitalization is the digitization of agriculture, which can help farmers to access information and market their products more efficiently. The integration of e-commerce and finance can also provide better financing and credit support for rural enterprises, which can further drive economic development in rural areas. The development of supply chain finance for agricultural products can also help to address the issue of financial difficulties in agriculture, rural areas, and farmers. Overall, the digitization of agriculture, e-commerce, and finance are important drivers for the rural revitalization strategy in China. VIKOR Method for Plithogenic Probabilistic Linguistic MAGDM and Application to Sustainable Supply Chain Financial Risk Evaluation

In the context of the increasingly competitive post-epidemic social marketing era, the sustainable development of supply chain finance is also facing the impact of more complex risk factors. However, the issue concerning how to scientifically and reasonably select the appropriate applicant company for financing cooperation on the basis of risk evaluation remains unresolved. For the smooth operation of banks’ sustainable supply chain finance (SSCF) business, this paper aims to develop a novel multi-attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) method considering the robustness and comprehensiveness among risk attributes and decision-makers (DMs). First, based on the idea that quantitative assessment values and qualitative linguistic sets can more accurately express uncertain risk information and importance degree of indicators, a novel concept is proposed that combines the probabilistic linguistic term set (PLTS) with the plithogenic set to evaluate the risk attributes of each alternative. Additionally, risk decision matrices evaluated by DMs are integrated and transformed through the operation of PLTS scoring function aggregation operators and the plithogenic contradiction degree. For deriving the integrated weight information of attributes, the objective attribute weights are determined on the basis of the subjective weights by adjusting coefficients. Then, the ranking order of alternatives is generated by applying the VIKOR method and constructing a MAGDM model with plithogenic PLTSs. Finally, the solving of a practical example concerning the selection of financing objects for SSCF oriented by risk evaluation verifies the effectiveness of the proposed model, where five risk indicators are developed, and the superiority of our studies is demonstrated by comparing with the existing TOPSIS and ELECTRE methods.

Experimental results show that compared with single SVM model, the overall classification accuracy of K-means-SVM model is increased by 7.2%, and the first type error rate is reduced by 5.0%, which verifies the superiority and effectiveness of k-means-SVM model applied to enterprise credit risk assessment under supply chain finance mode.

With the rapid development of economic level in recent years, the application of EC Supply Chain has become more and more extensive. The emergence of EC Supply Chain has injected strong vitality into the financial market, but at the same time, the EC Supply Chain financial business is also facing huge risks. For cross-border import e-commerce companies, the core of the supply chain is the source of goods and logistics. Enterprises have more resources, which means that they have more initiative in the fierce competition, and a stable and perfect supply chain will be the core competitiveness of the cross-border import e-commerce industry. The purpose of this paper is to study how to prevent risks in the EC Supply Chain financial market based on high-performance computing. This paper puts forward the importance of high-performance computing and the significance of EC Supply Chain development and proposes preventive measures against financial market risks in EC Supply Chain. From the data in the experimental part of this paper, it can be known that the development trend of the risk generated by the EC Supply Chain in 2010 accounted for 6.9%. By 2015, the percentage of the development trend of EC Supply Chain risk was 17.9%, an increase of 11%. It can be seen that the development of EC Supply Chain risk is very rapid, so how to prevent the financial market risk of EC Supply Chain is very urgent. From the data, it can be seen that the exogenous risk in the e-commerce supply chain has a score of 7.4–8.4 for market risk, a score of 7.7–9.1 for economic risk, and the highest score for economic risk. Risk is the biggest risk factor. The characteristics of supply chain risk are not only complex, diverse, and uncertain but also transitive and virtual.

Supply chain finance promotes the effective operation of all aspects of the supply chain and greatly promotes the development of the modern social economy. But because of its complexity, supply chain finance faces many risks, so it is vital to study and prevent supply chain finance risks. Aiming supply chain financial risks, this paper uses DEMATEL-AISM (Decision-making Laboratory Analysis-Confrontational Interpretation Structure Model) to analyze various factors affecting the development of supply chain finance and identify its transmission path. It is proposed to strengthen legal control, credit control, proficiency, supply chain management and supply chain operations, and find out and understand the things and links that are highly related to supply chain finance.; create a stable supply chain financial market environment and ensure market efficiency and other preventive measures. In this paper, the DEMATEL-AIM method is innovatively applied to identify and analyze supply chain financial risks, and the complex supply chain financial system is systematically analyzed. The relationship between indicators and the structure of the index system is found, which is helpful to identify the influencing factors of supply chain financial risks at all levels and their internal transmission mechanism. The preventive measures of supply chain financial risks are put forward, which provides ideas for effective prevention and treatment of supply chain financial risks and promotes the sustainable development of supply chain finance.

Operation Optimization of Supply Chain Financial System Based on System Dynamics.

Supply chain finance solves the problem of financing difficulties for small- and medium-sized enterprises, reduces the risk of financial services of financial institutions, and brings new profit growth points to logistics enterprises. Therefore, supply chain financing has achieved rapid growth in a short period of time in China. This paper aims to study how to analyze and study the collaborative development of supply chain finance based on system dynamics. This paper puts forward the problem of system operation optimization, which is based on system dynamics, then elaborates on the concepts of SD and SCF, and designs and analyzes a case of a supply chain financial system based on system dynamics. The experimental results show that increasing the “bank input” from 0.1 to 2 can bring considerable economic benefits in the long run. As far as the simulation results are concerned, the promotion effect on the supply chain is the most significant. The output value of the supply chain can be increased from 2,963.04 billion yuan to 4,211.73 billion yuan, an increase of 42.14%. The simulation results showed that the financial industry has a significant positive effect on the factor of supply chain support, which provides evidence support for further guiding practice.

A trust transitivity model of small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises under blockchain-based supply chain finance

Small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises (SMMEs) have been facing the financing contradiction of “strong demand” and “weak trust” for a long time, and financing constraints are closely related to the production efficiency of manufacturing enterprises. Therefore, how to solve the financing problem has become one of the most concerned issues for the development of SMMEs. After years of development, supply chain finance (SCF) has become an important way of financing for SMMEs. Under the traditional supply chain finance system, Tier 1-supplier in the manufacturing industry chain can make use of the high credit of core enterprises for financing, but the high credit of core enterprises cannot be transmitted to Tier 2 to Tier N-suppliers in the long tail market. In recent years, the innovative development of supply chain finance driven by blockchain technology has played a positive role in overcoming the lack of trust and has spawned a multi-level supply chain finance system. In this context, the paper proposes to establish a trust transitivity model based on the electronic payment voucher (EPV) issued by the blockchain, using the intuitionistic fuzzy set theory, and comprehensively consider direct trust and indirect trust. In trust aggregation, the dynamic weight allocation strategy is introduced to play the role of incentive and punishment for SMMEs. This study aims to provide a new idea for the trust evaluation of SMMEs by building a trust transitivity model, so as to give full play to the value-added and transmission effect of the manufacturing industry chain, and relieve the financing difficulties for SMMEs. Finally, the study further verified the rationality of the model through the analysis of numerical examples.
