Challenges and Strategies of Higher Vocational Education in China with the New Demographics-Based on the Data Analysis of China’s Seventh National Census

There is an important connection between the development of higher vocational education and the national demographics. According to the data of the seventh national census, China is facing a population reality with negative growth, an inverted pyramid structure, expanding migration, and stable quality improvement. The change in demographics sets out new requirements for the goal, types, structure and quality of higher vocational education. To develop higher vocational education, we should constantly optimize development planning, expand development types, optimize resource allocation and improve development quality.

Research on the Development Status of Higher Vocational Education in China

With the rapid development of China's economy and the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure, higher vocational education plays an important role in cultivating high-quality skilled personnel. This paper analyses the current situation of the development of higher vocational education in China, discusses the challenges it faces, and puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions. In response to these problems, this paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions such as diversified talent cultivation modes, balanced allocation of educational resources, strengthening industry-university-research-use cooperation, reinforcing the construction of faculty, as well as promoting the optimisation and updating of disciplines and specialties. These measures will help to improve the quality and level of China's higher vocational education and meet the demand for talents in social and economic development.

Development of Higher Vocational Education in Shuangcheng Economic Circle of Chengdu-Chongqing area Evaluation and Research on Coupling and Coordination with Economic Growth

Objective: The Central Committee's meeting on the Chengdu-Chongqing economic plan highlights the role of higher vocational education in fostering technological progress and economic growth through skilled talent cultivation, aligning with the region's development opportunities. Methods: This paper uses entropy method and coupling coordination degree model to conduct empirical research on the collaborative development of higher vocational education and regional economy in Chengdu-Chongqing region from 2011 to 2020. Conclusions: 1) For Chengdu-Chongqing area, the coupling coordination degree has gradually changed from the original low level coupling coordination type to the good coordination degree.2) In order to maintain the balanced development of higher vocational education with economic and social development, our country must accelerate the transformation of government functions, promote the reform of vocational education, and promote the coordinated development of higher vocational education and regional economy.

A Study of The Impact of Economic Development Across China on Higher Vocational Education

The impact of economic development in different regions of China on the development of higher vocational education is one of the key topics of research today. The researcher found that although higher vocational education has many positive impacts and promotes the regional economy to a certain extent, there are also problems such as lack of attention, waste of a large number of labour talents, and irrational allocation of resources, etc. However, there are some research gaps on the issue of the impact of the regional economy on higher vocational education; and there are also problems such as insufficient explanations of the problems and hazards caused by the problems and the measures to solve them. PRACTICE-ORIENTED LEARNING AS AN IMPORTANT COMPONENT OF THEDUAL FORM OF EDUCATION

The article analyses the content, purpose, technologies and conditions for the implementation of practiceoriented learning in dual universities in Germany and Austria. The results of surveys of students and employers on the effectiveness of practice-oriented learning in dual universities are presented. It is established that the prerequisites for the implementation of practice-oriented learning are: the use of real practical tasks in educational activities; modelling of a practical situation should take place in a group form of education; use of interdisciplinary connections. It is stated that the fulfilment of all these requirements will contribute to the creation of a practice-oriented environment in the educational process, which implements educational and professionally oriented functions.

Investigation and Research on the Capacity Building of "Double-teacher" Teachers in Higher Vocational Colleges

A Practical Approach to the Reform of “Three Teachings” in the Age of Digitalization to Promote the High-Quality Development of Higher Vocational Education

Abstract It has become difficult for conventional higher vocational education to fulfill the needs of the digital era, and reforming the “three teachings” is now a crucial decision to promote the high-quality expansion of higher vocational education. Promoting the high-quality development of higher vocational education by adopting a practical approach to reforming the “Three Teachings” in the age of digitalization. In a composite system model, the sequence parameters for the higher vocational school subsystem are determined by the sequence parameters of the ‘Three Teachings’ reform. The TOPSIS method and Moran’s I were used to assess the rate of growth of China’s higher vocational school system to look into the main factors that have contributeds to the good development of higher vocational education in that nation. The results show that there is weak geographical clustering, with each region’s 2022 Moran’s I for the “Three Teachings” reform and the high-quality development of higher vocational education being just 0.1280. Moreover, Moran’s I show a general downward trend from 2013 to 2022, suggesting that challenges need to be addressed to keep improving higher vocational education in a top-notch way. The ‘Three Teachings’ reform strategy presented in this study may help further sustain the long-term, high-quality expansion of higher vocational education.

An Exploration of the High-End Path of the Development of Higher Vocational Education in China from Teachers' Perspectives

In recent years, China's higher vocational education has made remarkable progress, but faces some challenges in the process of development. This study aims to explore the effective development of higher vocational education, especially in terms of teachers' professional development and educational innovation. Through online semi-structured interviews with four teachers in higher vocational schools, their perceptions of higher vocational education and their specific implementation (implementation methods, implementation content, benefits experienced and difficulties faced in implementing higher vocational education) were examined. The study found that teachers encouraged students to analyses problems from multiple perspectives and develop integrative and critical thinking skills. By providing internships in relevant industries, teachers helped students gain practical experience and skill development, and helped them clarify their career goals and directions. However, the study also revealed the difficulties encountered by teachers in implementing higher vocational education, such as China's exam-based education system and some parents' and the public's inherent perceptions of higher vocational teachers, schools and education, as well as students' sense of responsibility. The study also mentioned teachers' lack of insight and inadequate teaching methods and skills in implementing higher vocational education. Therefore, this study argues that higher education schools and society should address the issue of inadequate funding and training. Despite the limitations of this study, it provides research perspectives for future studies to explore the benefits of implementing higher vocational education and the challenges faced by parents or students, and to promote diversity and innovation in the implementation of higher vocational education.

Supply and demand of higher vocational education in China: Comprehensive evaluation and geographical representation from the perspective of educational equality.

The imbalanced regional development of higher vocational education, particularly the disparity between the supply and demand of educational resources, has emerged as the primary factor impeding the provision of high-quality higher education in China during the establishment of a universal education system. Based on the 1,482 higher vocational education institutions recognized by the Ministry of Education of China in 2021 as the research objects, the development of higher vocational education in China was explored from the perspective of supply and demand using the entropy weight TOPSIS method and coupling coordination degree model. It was found that China's higher vocational institutions were mainly located in provincial capitals, representing a point distribution pattern. From a comprehensive evaluation of the supply level, areas such as the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Yangtze River Delta, and central Henan Province have become the catchment areas for the development of higher vocational education, laying the foundation for regional network cooperation. From the perspective of educational equality, the higher vocational education in China was found to be sufficient to match the supply and demand, and a balance between supply and demand was apparent in provincial capitals. The coupling degree between supply and demand exhibited an "olive-type" spatial structure pattern, indicating that the development of higher vocational education in most cities in China is still in the transformation stage. The results provide a scientific basis for optimizing resources in the provision of higher vocational education.

Then it analyzes the key to settle these problems, and provide relevant solutions. In the end, this paper finds the unduly close correlation between China’s higher vocational education and traditional education system, the bias related to higher vocational education of students and parents in China and other problems.
