Abstract

The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 2022 proposed to develop higher vocational education in China rapidly. Based on this proposition, this paper firstly researches the status quo of the development of higher vocational education in China and then makes comparisons with Japan and America where higher vocational education is booming, to explore problems in the development of higher vocational education in China at the present stage. Then it analyzes the key to settle these problems, and provide relevant solutions. In the end, this paper finds the unduly close correlation between China’s higher vocational education and traditional education system, the bias related to higher vocational education of students and parents in China and other problems. Furthermore, it provides suggestions including the establishment of a unique higher vocational education enrollment system, improvement of legislation and display of achievement made in higher vocational education to the society.
