The article is an analysis of the key stages of the development of a secure enterprise information system. The focus is on highlighting the stages of determining information security objectives, risk assessment, vulnerability identification, as well as the process of making informed decisions in the context of information system security. The article provides detailed recommendations for creating reports on the completed risk analysis and the process of making informed decisions based on the results obtained. As part of the work, the analysis of the processes of compiling a matrix of the probability of the occurrence of threats, building a model of the violator and the stages of building a threat model was also carried out, providing an understanding of effective recommendations for assessing and managing the risks of information security of the enterprise and forecasting threats. The definitions of all the terms used and examples of the access matrix, the threat probability matrix are also given. The components of the intruder models and threat models are indicated. The most common errors in the process of creating a risk analysis report and presenting it to management are noted. The presented analysis serves as an important resource for information security specialists and business managers who are interested in building a reliable and secure information system.

Cybersecurity Considerations in the Development of Enterprise Information Systems

This collective acknowledgement underscores a heightened recognition of the evolving landscape of cyber threats. The identified challenges, encompassing the delicate balance between security and usability, along with the scarcity of proficient experts, mirror the intricate dynamics faced by organizations. The advocated strategies, aligned with established practices, underscore the prominence of risk-based methodologies and adaptive security measures. The influence of regulatory adherence and human factors brings to light nuanced aspects of the subject. Ultimately, the study underscores the compelling need to embed cybersecurity seamlessly into information system development, culminating in resilient, secure, and forward-oriented systems within an interconnected digital milieu

Enterprise information management systems development two cases of mining for process conformance

This article investigates how Process Mining may be used to check process conformance in enterprise information system development. The concept of using Process Mining beyond pure business processes is exemplified on the bug closure processes of two open-source enterprise systems. The process models and conclusions extracted are used for drawing some generic guidelines enterprise information project managers can adopt to assess the quality of their system development processes. Process conformance checking is performed in the Bugzilla databases of two open-source enterprise information systems using Disco. The extracted models are assessed based on the documentation of the projects and are compared to the bug closure process Bugzilla team suggests being used. The findings revealed that the processes followed in the projects are very similar to the ones presented in their documentation, conforming with Bugzilla guidelines. However, several variations are revealed under specific circumstances. Potential benefits from applying Process Mining techniques for information system development management are briefly summarized. This empirical research extends previous work that has been performed in the field of Process Mining and highlights the importance and necessity of Process Mining in enterprise information system development to help standardize and improve the internal processes of an organization and to serve as a proof of compliance by external collaborators developing software for an organization. In addition, it capitalizes on the adoption of inner source development model by many companies developing enterprise software nowadays.

Selection of Business Process Modeling Tool with the Application of Fuzzy DEMATEL and TOPSIS Method

The business process modeling tool selection problem has a significant impact on the overall performance of enterprise business process modeling, which will directly affect the development of enterprise information systems. Apart from that, the process to select the business process modeling tool from all alternatives is a Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problem. This paper develops a methodology based on the hybrid fuzzy Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) and Technique for Order Performance by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method to help companies select the optimal business process modeling tool, where the business process modeling process is more efficient, economic and safe. The proposed method has the following state-of-the-art contributions and features: (1) the latest application of the MCDM methodology to the field of BPM tool selection, (2) addressing the direct and indirect impact between criteria in the selection of BPM tools, and (3) considering the hybrid fuzzy (uncertainty) decision-making issue in the BPM tool selection process. Meanwhile, the mathematical formula in TOPSIS can be regarded as a formula for solving a symmetric problem. The hybrid fuzzy DEMATEL method is used to obtain the weight for the criteria to be considered in the BPM tool selection process, and the TOPSIS method is used to obtain the final business process modeling tool.

The problem of applying the scrum approach in the management system of the information activity of the enterprise is considered. The role of information support in the enterprise management system is analyzed. It was determined that the success of the implementation of the mission, goals, tasks of the operation, the efficiency of the development of enterprises depends significantly on the level of awareness of its management system, timeliness, completeness of obtaining information about current, perspective processes of the internal and, most importantly, external environment, as well as the adequacy of the interpretation of the levels of their influence on the vital activities of enterprises. Significant changes observed in recent years in economic conditions, approaches, methods, and management systems have been studied. They contribute to the solution of problems related to ensuring as a current activity, the long-term stable development of enterprises. The main properties of modern information systems of enterprises are highlighted. The main criteria for evaluating the effectiveness (effect) of the use of information systems for enterprises are analyzed. The potential opportunities and advantages of using the scrum approach in the information management systems of enterprises are studied. The members of the scrum team in the organizational structure of the management of information activities of the enterprise, their functional responsibilities are characterized. A conceptual model of the formation and development of enterprise information systems based on the Scrum approach has been developed. The main advantages of using the Scrum approach in the information management system of the enterprise are analyzed. Prospects of using modern information technologies for enterprise management are studied. Their practical application will make any enterprise more competitive by increasing the level of its manageability, faster adaptation to market dynamics, etc. It is substantiated that the appropriate level of information activity of the enterprise, the management process will increase the level of stability, to respond in time to the dynamism of the external environment.

RETROSPECTIVE OF WEB TECHNOLOGIES EVOLUTION IN DEVELOPMENT OF ENTERPRISE INFORMATION SYSTEMS

The first mentions of enterprise information systems refer to the 1960s. These systems developed over time, becoming more complex and allowing to solve a wide range of problems. The 1990s mark the beginning of the active development of web technologies. Naturally, they found way into the development of enterprise information systems used for various purposes. The purpose of the study was to describe the main stages in the development of web technologies, from the appearance of the hypertext markup language to modern single-page web applications, as well as the impact they had on approaches to the development of enterprise information systems. The author meant to identify promising trends in web-based solutions that can be successfully used in the development of enterprise information systems. Materials and methods. The paper discusses modern web tech-no¬logies, their development from the dawn to the present day, as well as some tools recognized as obsolete, and the reasons why it is impossible to develop them further. Results. The paper gives the history of the emergence of various technologies, describes their impact on approaches to the im-plementation of enterprise systems, and a way to move from a desktop version of the system to an online one. Some predictions are made concerning the prospects of certain technological areas that have good chances to successfully develop in the future. The author assesses the growing complexity of web applica-tions, the way they merge with the server side development approaches and tools. The demand of software engineers who can develop both the server and client side of an application is rationalized.

Supercomputing Technologies as Drive for Development of Enterprise Information Systems and Digital Economy

The article presents an analysis of approaches to the development of enterprise information systems that are in use today. One of the major trends that predetermines the agenda of information technology is the focus on parallel computing of large volumes of data using supercomputing technologies. The article considers the resulting ubiquitous move to distributed patterns of building enterprise information systems and avoiding monolithic architectures. The emphasis is placed on the importance of such fundamental characteristics of enterprise information systems as reliability, scalability, and maintainability. The article justifies the importance of machine learning in the context of effective big data analysis and competitive gain for business, vital for both maintaining a leading position in the market and surviving in conditions of global instability and digitalization of economy. Transition from storing the current state of a enterprise information system to storing a full log and history of all changes in the event stream is proposed as an instrument of achieving linearization of the data stream for subsequent parallel computing. There is a new view that is being shaped of specialists at the intersection of engineering and analytical disciplines, who would be able to effectively develop scalable systems and algorithms for data processing and integration of its results into company business processes.

Review of Interoperability Practices for Enterprise Information System (EIS) in Public Sector

Interoperable information system is crucial to enable an organization to provide good services to users. It can give a high impact and good return to government agencies, particularly in terms of efficiency in managing information system as well as making it time and cost effective. However, the implementation and work processes involving the interoperability of the public sector information system are still under focused. The major issues identified are concerning on difficulties in the implementation of integration between legacy systems or new systems; Recurring transactions or transactions in various systems, especially those involving legacy systems or new systems; Differences in database platforms; Difficulty in implementing the system redesign process; and no standard use of meta data, data model and complete database schema that can be used as reference. They hinder the implementation of good governance and contribute to ineffective decision-making process in the public sector. Hence, a more detailed and comprehensive study should be carried out to identify the critical success factors that contribute to the interoperability of the enterprise information system in the public sector. The method of the study is qualitative. The instruments for data collection include document analysis. The finding reveals that interoperability factors and elements can be classified according to the levels of interoperability i.e. (i) Organization; (ii) Technical; and (iii) Semantics. They can then be used as the basis for the development of reference for developing comprehensive guidelines based on the success factors and elements outlined. It is hoped that these factors could contribute to the development of enterprise information systems in the public sector which emphasizes the concept of interoperability.

Sustainable project management for multi-agent development of enterprise information systems

The paper includes a review of processes in managerial decision-making based on results of multi-agent simulation in development of enterprise information systems. Authors have proposed the multi-agent model, within which agents' actions depend on a hybrid function of preferences. On this basis, authors have formalized the method, with which it is possible to evaluate agents' judgments. The method combines qualitative, quantitative and fuzzy approaches provide by the decision-making theory and the idea of the criteria space divided into sectors. The synthesis of these approaches has made it possible to lower subjective uncertainty inherent in shared managerial decision making. For the multi-agent model, they have drafted event processing algorithms and identified criteria to evaluate simulation results necessary to support decision making in order to identify the most effective option in development of enterprise information system. Authors have also introduced a methodology-related toolkit in the form of software, including the multi-agent model, decision system and optimization module.

Smart-EIS: An End to End Enterprise Information Systems Framework

Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) are widely and extensively used in many domains such as banking, telecommunication, e-commerce and government. Although several research studies and investigations were performed that explore the importance of EIS, only a few studies have focused on effective and efficient end-to-end approaches to developing such systems. In this article, a proposed software development framework (Smart-EIS) is presented. The primary objective of Smart-EIS is making the development of high-quality EIS more effective and efficient. In particular, it aims to reduce the development cost and to provide built-in transparent quality, security, performance and user-experience features. A comprehensive review of the traditional EIS is presented. This includes a discussion of the characteristics and patterns of such systems, the layered architectural patterns and the main components of these systems. The working methodology for the work discussed in this article depends on dynamically construct the common and general aspects of EIS at runtime. The methodology starts with extracting metadata models from the traditional architectural and components patterns. Based on these metadata, APIs have been designed and implemented. These libraries were then composed to make the full and complete proposed framework. In terms of validation and evaluation, the proposed framework -including its APIs- has been implemented as open-source projects, used to build a simple human resource management system, then utilized to re-build a student information system. Results of validation and evaluation have been presented and discussed, which show promising potential.

SELECTING SAFETY PACKAGE COMPONENTS OF ENTERPRISE INFORMATION SYSTEM FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS OF STANDARD LEGAL DOCUMENTS

Introduction. Production processes quality depends largely on the management infrastructure, in particular, on the information system (IS) effectiveness. Company management pays increasingly greater attention to the safety protection of this sphere. Financial, material and other resources are regularly channeled to its support. In the presented paper, some issues on the development of a safety enterprise information system are considered.Materials and Methods. Protection of the enterprise IS considers some specific aspects of the object, and immediate threats to IT security. Within the framework of this study, it is accepted that IS are a complex of data resources. A special analysis is resulted in determining categories of threats to the enterprise information security: hacking; leakage; distortion; loss; blocking; abuse. The connection of these threats, IS components and elements of the protection system is identified. The requirements of normative legal acts of the Russian Federation and international standards regulating this sphere are considered. It is shown how the analysis results enable to validate the selection of the elements of the IS protection system.Research Results. A comparative analysis of the regulatory literature pertinent to this issue highlights the following. Different documents offer a different set of elements (subsystems) of the enterprise IS protection system. To develop an IS protection program, you should be guided by the FSTEC Order No. 239 and 800-82 Revision 2 Guide to ICS Security.Discussion and Conclusions. The presented research results are the basis for the formation of the software package of intellectual support for decision-making under designing an enterprise information security system. In particular, it is possible to develop flexible systems that allow expanding the composition of the components (subsystems).

BMM: A Business Modeling Method For Information Systems Development


 
 
 An important premise of most of the contemporary methods for developing Software and Information Systems is that a good understanding of the application domain is essential for a comprehensive definition of its requirements. However, when these methods are applied to the enterprise context, it is very unclear what an application domain means. To solve this problem, we elaborate the notion of business system and propose a method based on such notion for modeling application domains of Enterprise Information Systems (EIS). This method helps EIS development teams to get comprehensive knowledge about EIS application domains. This knowledge is expressed in terms of the fundamental concepts of a business system: goals, technologies, business rules, business processes, business objects, actors, job structure, and events. The method is described in terms of three methodological components: a product model, a process model, and a team model. This structure facilitates the explanation, understanding and application of the method.
 
 

PERANCANGAN ARSITEKTUR ENTERPRISE UNTUK MENDUKUNG PROSES BISNIS MENGGUNAKAN TOGAF ARCHITECTURE DEVELOPMENT METHODE

Construction and development of enterprise architecture and information systems are appropriately planned and well designed and suit to the needs and the abilities of the organization. Good planning will provide great benefits for construction and development of enterprise architecture, both in terms of human resources, budget and organization's readiness to implement the plan. In this study did not use all the phases of TOGAF ADM, this study only uses seven from nine phases TOGAF ADM namely the preliminary phase, architecture vision phase, business architecture phase, architecture of information systems phase, technology architecture phase, opportunity and solution phase and migration planning phase. The first phase of the enterprise architecture development is the prelimary phase, output from the preliminary phase becomes input to the early phases of the TOGAF ADM phases, which is named architecture vision phase and from that input device produced the new organizational structure that will be proposed. In the next phase of business phase was also analyzed using Value Chain analysis.

Business Analytics-Based Enterprise Information Systems

ABSTRACTBig data analytics and business analytics are a disruptive technology and innovative solution for enterprise development. However, what is the relationship between business analytics, big data analytics, and enterprise information systems (EIS)? How can business analytics enhance the development of EIS? How can analytics be incorporated into EIS? These are still big issues. This article addresses these three issues by proposing ontology of business analytics, presenting an analytics service-oriented architecture (ASOA) and applying ASOA to EIS, where our surveyed data analysis showed that the proposed ASOA is viable for developing EIS. This article then examines incorporation of business analytics into EIS through proposing a model for business analytics service-based EIS, or ASEIS for short. The proposed approach in this article might facilitate the research and development of EIS, business analytics, big data analytics, and business intelligence.

Colaborated Architechture Framework for Composition UML 2.0 in Zachman Framework

Zachman Framework (ZF) is the framework of enterprise architechture that most widely adopted in the Enterprise Information System (EIS) development. In this study, has been developed Colaborated Architechture Framework (CAF) to collaborate ZF with Unified Modeling Language (UML) 2.0 modeling. The CAF provides the composition of ZF matrix that each cell is consist of the Model Driven architechture (MDA) from the various UML models and many Software Requirement Specification (SRS) documents. Implementation of this modeling is used to develops Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Because ERP have a coverage of applications in large numbers and complexly relations, it is necessary to use Agile Model Driven Design (AMDD) approach as an advanced method to transforms MDA into components of application modules with efficiently and accurately. Finally, through the using of the CAF, give good achievement in fullfilment the needs from all stakeholders that are involved in the overall process stage of Rational Unified Process (RUP), and also obtaining a high satisfaction to fullfiled the functionality features of the ERP software in PT. Accurate Predictions of Process-Execution Time and Process Status Based on Support-Vector Regression for Enterprise Information Systems

Accurate predictions of both process-execution time and process status are crucial for the development of an intelligent enterprise information system (EIS). We have developed new automated learning-based process-execution time-prediction and process status-prediction methods that can be embedded into an EIS. Process-execution time prediction is a regression problem and state-of-the-art (baseline) time-prediction methods use a machine-learning regression model. Process status prediction is a binary classification problem in which a class labeled “completed” or “in-progress” is assigned to a process with respect to an arbitrary predictive horizon (i.e., the future time given by the method user). The methods proposed in this paper integrate statistical methods with support-vector regression. Comparison results obtained from the real data of a digital-print enterprise show that the proposed time-prediction method reduces both the relative mean error and the root-mean-squared error of the regression model. Furthermore, the proposed status-prediction method not only achieves higher classification accuracy than state-of-the-art methods, it also estimates the probability of the predicted status. In addition, algorithm development and training phases of the proposed methods do not rely on any arbitrary predictive horizon. Therefore, a single time-prediction model as proposed is sufficient for status prediction as opposed to a baseline status-prediction method that requires classification models for all potential predictive horizons.

BUSINESS PROCES MANGEMNET SYSTEMS AS A NEW PARADIGM OF IT DEVELOPMENT

The development of enterprise information systems based on the BPM is a radical change in our views on methods for business process modeling and for organisation management.
