Deuteron-stripping reactions on a special target consisting of approximately equal amounts of the five stable even calcium isotopes have been performed at 7.00 and 7.20 MeV. Angular distributions for the l n = 3 1 f 7 2 ground states and strongest 2 p 3 2 transitions were measured and analysed using the DWBA. Optical-model parameters for the analysis were obtained from 7.00 and 7.20 MeV elastic-scattering measurements. Transitions to the 2.017 MeV level of 41Ca and 0.990 MeV level of 43Ca both with l n = 2 were also obtained. Spectroscopic factors were deduced from the data and are discussed in terms of core excitation of the Ca ground-state target nuclei.
