Design and Implementation of Wireless Test Simulation System

Wireless communications test set is a test instrument widely used in the field of telecommunication test, but it costs much. To satisfy the actual needs of University's practical teaching, the wireless test simulation software is designed and developed. The simulation system uses C# language for development and design. In term of technical implementation, methods such as object-oriented simulation, GDI+ and Monte Carlo methods are used to deal with the complicated design during the simulation. It realizes the simulation test process of the test set, getting the same results between simulation test results and actual test effects. In term of simulation teaching, the system provides several practical teaching and management functions by combining with the actual conditions of university. The simulation system is of strong practicality to be applied in college teaching as wireless measurement simulation teaching software.

Kinematics Simulation and Control System Design of Serial Robot Based on ADAMS and Pro/E

Mechanic dynamic analysis software ADAMS was used to build a virtual prototype of a 6-D serial robot, and the kinematics simulation was performed. The virtual prototype model provides the theoretic foundation and main parameters for the control system design, production and application in experiment.

Experimental Verification of RF Stress Effect on Cascode Class-E PA Performance and Reliability

A cascode class-E power amplifier (PA) operating at 5.2 GHz has been designed using Advanced Design System simulation. RF circuit performances such as output power and power-added efficiency before and after RF stress have been experimentally investigated. The measured output power, power-added efficiency, and linearity after high-input-power RF stress at elevated supply voltage show significant circuit degradations. The impact of hot-carrier injection and gate oxide soft breakdown on cascode class-E PA reliability is discussed.

Study on Surface Roughness Simulation to Lathe Machining

This paper presents a simulation system for the cutting surface roughness based on the feed rate, spindle speed and tool material, shape and other parameters. The reasons affecting the surface quality in machining is explained. Using classic formula and empirical data, the mathematical model of the surface roughness is built to predict surface quality of parts. The paper proposes a method of the simulation system design for the machined surface quality. The simulation results could give a guide to the choice of cutting parameters in CNC machining.

Creative Combination Simulation System Design of Mechanical Transmission Based on Image

The assembly of a creative combination of mechanical transmission necessitates a certain level of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. College students often lack the capability to effectively apply such theories and skills together. Such a lack results in the low efficiency and poor results in corresponding experiments. In order to solve the problem, an images show is used to simulate the assembly process of a creative combination experiment of mechanical transmission. The assembly path is described through a binary tree. The corresponding relationship between the binary tree and assembly related information is established. Interactive operation of the assembly process is achieved. The system is simple, fast and with no need of large professional software. Typical microcomputers will meet the experiments requirements and purpose.

Design of Semi-Physical Simulation System of UAV Based on Computer Control

For a fly control system of UAV, the author designs the hardware in the loop simulation system, formulates the construction and working theory of it, and introduces the formulation software. The results shows that, the system can supply the good simulation circumstance for this automatic pilot, save the cost and the time. Especially, it is of significance to evaluate the fly quality and accelerate the research progress of UAV.

A haptics-based virtual simulation system for product design

This paper aims to develop a haptics-based virtual simulation system for product design. To fully reach the potential of such a system, the modelling methods of the user-product interaction should be based on physics to enable users to feel the physical behaviours of various products. The key challenge is the balance between the heavy computational load and the high update rate for haptic feedback. In this paper, the modelling of rigid and deformable objects for haptics-based simulations is developed, including button click and vibration feeling as well as the interaction with heterogeneous deformable material. The commercial haptic device PHANToM Desktop from SensAble Technologies is integrated with the models into the implemented prototype system. It is validated that the proposed simulation system can allow users to experience and manipulate virtual objects in cyber space. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed modelling methods are computationally efficient to provide real-time haptic feedback.

Product designer is demanded to harmonize technical, economic, social, and environmental aspects of designing product. It is important for product designer to get the overview and the forecast of the property and the influence of the designing product by computer simulations. In order to support product designer and material designer, multi-scale product design and lifecycle simulation system is proposed. The multi-scale product design and lifecycle simulation system consists of multi-scale product design and simulation (MPDS) sub-system and product lifecycle simulation (PLS) sub-system. Concept of MPDS sub-system is an expansion of the concept of current CAD/CAE system. Multi-scale products from micro/nano scale level to human scale level are designed continuously by MPDS sub-system. Concept of PLS sub-system is an expansion of the concept of current LCA system. PLS sub-system carries out product lifecycle simulation and estimation of designing product.

Designing of integrated system-dynamics models for an oil company

This paper presents a new approach to designing integrated simulation models for large corporations. This approach is based on the use of system-dynamics methods for implementing models of segments of the vertically integrated company taking into account the available direct and feedback links. All models have been designed with the help of power simulation tool - Powersim Studio. In addition, the designed simulation system has been integrated with created genetic algorithm and the corporate data warehouse.

We divide the system into components based on its structure, and describe every component using active diagram. By using the component-based technology, the system described here is easier to extended and be reused. At last, it realizes the whole UUV integrated navigation simulation course using the system to validate the availability.

NONLINEAR MODELING OF TRAPPING AND THERMAL EFFECTS ON GaAs AND GaN MESFET/HEMT DEVICES

A novel nonlinear model for MESFET/HEMT devices is presented. The model can be applied to low power (GaAs) and high power (GaN) devices with equal success. The model provides accurate simulation of the static (DC) and dynamic (Pulsed) I-V characteristics of the device over a wide bias and ambient temperature range (from i70 - C to +70 - C) without the need of an additional electro-thermal sub-circuit. This is an important issue in high power GaN HEMT devices where self-heating and current collapse due to traps is a more serious problem. The parameter extraction strategy of the new model is simple to implement. The robustness of the model when performing harmonic balance simulation makes it suitable for RF and microwave designers. Experimental results presented demonstrate the accuracy of the model when simulating both the small-signal and large- signal behavior of the device over a wide range of frequency, bias and ambient temperature operating points. The model described has been implemented in the Advanced Design System (ADS) simulator to validate the proposed approach without convergence problems.

Modelling Thermo-chemical Hydrogen Generation in a Solar Plant

AbstractThis article presents the work-in-progress of dynamic modelling works of hydrogen generation in Hydrosol3D project. This project has been based on the results of the Hydrosol II project where a pilot plant at the Plataforma Solar de Almería (CIEMAT) with the aim of producing continuously hydrogen was set up. The hydrogen is produced from water and concentrated solar radiation, based on a two step cycle process. In this process different chemical reactions occur, with an important dependence of the temperature inside the reactors. Several dynamic models for simulation and control system design are been developed currently and its progress is presented in this work-in-progress article. The mathematical models of the different subsystems are presented and first simulation results are commented.

Software Package for Simulation and Control System Design for a Nonrigid Space Vehicle

New results in the field of automation of the space flight control system design are presented in this paper. The concept of a universal program for research of dynamic properties, calculation of comprehensive mathematical models, simulation of the flight motion and synthesis of smart control laws for different types of flexible aerospace constructions (launchers and missiles) is considered. Special attention is given to creation of mathematical models of different physical phenomena in aerospace vehicles. The basis of the program is a block that enables the analysis of dynamic characteristics, simulation, and the visual representation of information. The software package is supplied with a library of program modules. These modules are designed on the base of mathematical models of separate vehicle elements and different physical effects, such as flexibility, sloshing, sluggishness of engines, local angle of attack values, etc. Selection of different sets of mathematical models and program modules allows investigating different constructions for known and prospective vehicles. The interface of the program enables changing parameters of the vehicle in a wide range, simulate flight at any trajectory and output results of the analysis in a numerical or graphical form. For synthesis of control laws the smart control approach is used.

Vision Based Autonomous Landing of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

The overall aim of present work is to develop a considerable robust and simple method for the estimation of the relative position of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with respect to a runway and automatic landing of UAV based on camera images. Various automatic landing systems based on INS, GPS, ILS and tracking radar are not always available or applicable due to complexity, cost or limits from operating environment. Vision based landing has been found as an attractive since it is passive, low cost and does not require any special equipment other than a camera and a vision processing unit onboard. An uncalibrated camera is used to give high accuracy position information for automatic landing on the runway. In addition to camera, only an airspeed sensor is added because the velocity relative to the air is very important during landing. The special feature of this method is that neither a calibrated camera (referring to focus length and mounting angles relative to the aircraft) is required nor the identification of special points of the runway and their 3-D location has to be known. The only reference to the 3-D world which has to be known is the width of the runway stripe. The robustness and the minimum requirement of real-world 3-D data yield a lower effort for certification, calibration and maintenance of a camera based positioning system. The proposed algorithm extracts the runway boundary lines using Hough transform and estimates the position, lateral offset of UAV with respect to the runway centre line. An aircraft model for simulation and control system design purposes is also presented. Finally, some simulation results using Flight Gear simulation software, where the described method has been implemented, are explained.

The semi-physical simulation system design of micro-satellite based-on HLA

The ground simulation validation is an important process during small satellite's development. Giving consideration to the characteristics of small satellite and a type of ground simulation requirements, a small satellite hardware-in-loop simulation system based-on HLA is established. System structure, the interaction data table, hardware interface unit and the federal members’ flow chart are designed. The simulation and validation are done to a certain small satellite through the designed hardware-in-loop simulation system. The results show that the simulation system is able to simulate dynamics and control subsystem, power supply subsystem and payload subsystem and realize accessing physical equipment of control subsystem much better, and has good practical application value.

A Kind of Design of Satellite Simulation System Based on HLA

Satellite-based is a very complex system, including of many subsystems involving space, channel, ground, command and so on. The simulation system must rely on the joint co-simulation. Based on HLA (High-Level Architecture) system standard, from the perspective of distributed simulation, a simple satellite design schema was introduced in this article, which can achieve a joint multi-system co-simulation.

Design and Realization of Mine Water-Inrush Visualization Simulation System

There exists a high risk of water-inrush in mining activities. Therefore, it is critical to develop a conceptual model of Mine Water-inrush, especially for the underground environment. The general structure of Mine Water-inrush Simulation System consists of core network, the underground monitoring network, and the operational system. Through the application of data processing system, simulation system and the application system, the original data can be processed. The results is then passed to the operators and managers, which require them increase the understanding of factors leading to accidents and consequently take action to improve mining safety. This new water-inrush model captures three characteristics to regard the mine water-inrush: the inrush sources, inrush process, and submerging process. Virtual length has been applied to the model, which is combined with a Traversal Algorithm, can be used to calculate the area of increased influence over time for each process. Based on the collected data from a real mine, the underground excavations and a virtual water-inrush disaster process were simulated, which shows that the system operates reliably.
