Continuous training based on the needs of operating room nurses using web application: a new approach to improve their knowledge

IntroductionSince university education and intensive and limited pre-service training do not provide an acceptable level of performing the duties of operating room nurses, and considering the limitations of traditional training methods in the field of operating room; This study was conducted with the aim of determining the effect of using the electronic education approach based on web application, leveled, personalized and based on the needs of nurses on their level of knowledge and satisfaction.Materials and methodsThis research is a quasi-experimental type of single-group multi-center pre-test-post-test, which during that, four stages of educational needs assessment, educational content design, web application design for training and evaluation of operating room nurses and determining the effectiveness of this method are included. Based on their knowledge and satisfaction, during this period, 36 nurses from the operating rooms that met the study criteria were included in the study by stratified random sampling based on the determined sample size. The data collection includes a four-choice test to measure the knowledge of operating room nurses in heart anatomy (score range 0–20), the principles of movement, transferring and positioning of the patient in the operating room (score range 0–15), the principles of ergonomics in the operating room (score range score 0–10) and satisfaction questionnaire (score range 0–28). Data collected using descriptive statistical tests (percentage of frequency and frequency, mean and standard deviation) and analytical tests (paired sample t-test, independent samples t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, chi-square) with the software SPSS version 16 was analyzed.ResultsGenerally, the average knowledge scores of operating room nurses before and after the intervention were 5.96 ± 3.96 vs. 13.6 ± 3.77, in the course of principles of moving, transferring and positioning the patient in the operating room were 6.3 ± 3.42 vs. 13.3 ± 1.32, respectively 8.7 ± 3.97 vs. 18.1 ± 1.07 (in heart anatomy), 1.57 ± 2.6 vs. 0.73 ± 9.1 (in the principles of ergonomics in the operating room) and the average Knowledge scores after the intervention were significantly higher than before the intervention (P<0.001). Also, the average satisfaction score of nurses was 21.3 ± 5.83 and 22 nurses (64.7%) were satisfied with the e-learning course.ConclusionThe use of the electronic education approach based on the web application, leveled, personalized and based on the needs of the nurses, led to the improvement of the level of knowledge and satisfaction of the operating room nurses. E-learning can be used as a complementary educational tool and method for continuous training of operating room nurses in other specialized fields of operating room and surgery.Highlights• Educational content in the form of educational videos taught by professors of medical sciences universities on each of the topics of heart anatomy (28 episodes of 5–10 minutes), principles of ergonomics in the operating room (7 episodes of 5–25 minutes) and movement principles. The transfer and positioning of the patient in the operating room (16 episodes of 10–20 minutes) were designed in three primary, intermediate and advanced levels.• The results of this study showed that the use of an electronic education approach based on the web application, levelled, personalized and based on the needs of nurses, led to the improvement of the knowledge of operating room nurses. Also, operating room nurses were delighted with electronic training courses. E-learning can be used as a complementary educational tool and method for continuous training of operating room nurses in other specialized fields of operating room and surgery.• Based on the results of this study, the use of an electronic education approach based on the needs of operating room nurses can be used as a complementary tool to conventional continuous education. Since this method allows interactive, personalized education is levelled, and asynchronous. It can be used at any time and place on a laptop, tablet or mobile phone; a wide range of operating room nurses in the hospitals of the Islamic Republic of Iran can use it for educational justice to Many borders should be established in the country. However, there are studies to evaluate the generalizability and the effect of using the e-learning approach on the clinical skills of operating room nurses and to compare the effect of e-learning with other methods and educational tools on the knowledge and skills of the learners and the extent of consolidating the learned material in their memory.

Adaptation of the E-Learning Exercise Creator to the Needs of People with Disabilities with Impaired Access to Education

This article focuses on the implementation of the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.1 guidelines into e-learning courses. The Quizer e-learning platform, which enables the creation of interactive multimedia courses, hasnprovided the basis for the introduction of the WCAG component. The platform includes two basic tools: an exercise creator and an exercise presenter. Once the Quizer Platform Exercise Wizard was analysed, a component was conceptualised and implemented to create e-learning courses compliant with WCAG guidelines and dedicated to people with disabilities. The technology for the implementation of this component was also presented. The function and validity of navigation through the courses using the keyboard and the use of screen readers were discussed as well. The research on the correctness of the WCAG standard implementation into e-learning courses was conducted with the use of designed cyber security quizzes. The final results of quizzes prepared according to WCAG guidelines and without WCAG were also compared. The research involved students majoring in computer science at Lublin University of Technology. Its results indicate the validity of using the WCAG guidelines in the design of educational content for students with disabilities and equalizing their educational opportunities.

Application of ChatGPT for automated problem reframing across academic domains

This paper explores the potential of large language models, specifically ChatGPT, to reframe problems from probability theory and statistics, making them accessible to students across diverse academic fields including biology, economics, law, and engineering. The aim of this study is to enhance interdisciplinary learning by rendering complex concepts more accessible, relevant, and engaging. We conducted a pilot study using ChatGPT to adapt problems across 17 disciplines, evaluated through expert review. Our results demonstrate the significant potential of ChatGPT in reshaping problems for diverse settings, preserving theoretical meaning in 77.1% of cases, and requiring no or only minor revisions in 74% of cases. An evaluation performed by 23 domain experts revealed that in 73.6% of cases the reframed problem was considered to add educational value compared to a corresponding abstract problem and to represent a real-world scenario in 57.0% of cases. Furthermore, a survey involving 44 Computer Science students revealed a diverse range of preferences between original and reframed problems, underscoring the importance of considering student preferences and learning styles in the design of educational content. The study offers insights into the practicality and efficacy of employing large language models, like ChatGPT, to enhance interdisciplinary education and foster greater student engagement and understanding.

The relevance of the study is due to the fact that in the digital transformation of the educational environment, designing an online course as a four-element system, three of which are related to the visual component and user experience becomes important. If one of these elements is lost or broken, the course quality will suffer, users will not complete it, and the learning objectives will not be met, as a result, the training course will be ineffective. The aim of the study is to present a toolkit for high-quality visualization of the educational content design. The practical significance of this study lies in the fact that it will allow HR company managers, methodologists and pedagogical designers to come to understanding of how to visualize content, how UI differs from UX, how to properly approach information visualization, what factors distinguish a good graphic design from a bad one. This will increase the level of involvement in learning and the educational process efficiency.

УПРАВЛЕНИЕ ПРОЕКТИРОВАНИЕМ ДОПОЛНИТЕЛЬНЫХ ПРОФЕССИОНАЛЬНЫХ ПРОГРАММ: ОПЫТ РЕГИОНА

The presented article describes the results of a large-scale project implemented by representatives of the RANEPA Law School aimed at replenishing the range of additional professional programs with expert, high-quality, specialized educational content. In order to develop such programs on a competitive basis, the jury selected 22 applicants who for several months, under the guidance of tracker teachers, designed additional professional programs, the content of which was their unique expert experience. From a research point of view, the process of managing the design of educational content in the conditions of interaction between trackers, teachers of the Presidential Academy and the participants of the educational project themselves, who are experts in their professional activities, is interesting. As a qualitative and quantitative result, we note the development of four unique additional professional training programs, which are implemented within the framework of the national project «Demography».

A didactic toolkit for climate change educators: lessons from constructive journalism for emotionally sensitive and democratic content design

Climate change education is seen as an important contributor to climate change mitigation. Yet, its predominant focus on cognitive learning tends to omit the emotional effects of learning about climate change, which often entails learners feeling anxious and overwhelmed and therefore struggling to engage with and enact ‘solutions’. This paper addresses a gap in current environmental education research relating to the role that the design of educational content might play in engaging with the emotional dimension of learning in environmental and sustainability education. In this effort, the paper draws on constructive journalism to provide an account of how the design of content influences the appropriation of content on both a cognitive and emotional level by the learner. The paper outlines three content design tools (solutions orientation, future orientation, community orientation) that aim to reconcile the emotional and cognitive dimensions of learning while supporting the agency of learners and a democratic conception of climate change education.

Game Planning Class as an International Cultural Content for the Education of UN SDGs

In this study, an attempt was made to plan as serious educational game as an international cultural content by adding SDGs educational content to the game planning class, which Korea has a high global status. In addition, industry-academic cooperation was formed for SDGs educational content design and practical expertise. As a result of the survey conducted after class, students showed very high learning satisfaction. The narrative responses indicated that they had a will to practice the SDGs and that they were able to awaken a sense of professional ethics through the educational effect of the game. And they had both interest and difficult in the effort to properly fuse the conflicting contents of education and fun. They also showed a very positive response to the special lecture on SDGs education content and the process of creating a plan with working-level staff. Since the results of the study were for specific class cases, it may be difficult to generalize them. Nevertheless, it is thought to have value as a material that can be used in classes for similar majors and liberal arts projects that want to complement both content and functional expertise.

METHODOLOGICAL BASES OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROCESS AND PROJECT APPROACHES IN VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

The research is aimed at investigating the possibility of reforming of professional-pedagogical education on the base of process and project approaches. The urgency of this problem is caused by the changing of requirements for the modern professionals and the lack of evidence-based strategies of teacher training for vocational education system. Methods . Methodological bases of development strategy of vocational teacher education involves process approach, that provides the continuity of the educational system management and is aimed at improving the quality of vocational training; and project approach oriented to the changes in the existing traditional education. Results and scientific novelty. The authors have identified the basic trends of modernization of professional pedagogical education in the conditions of transition to the sixth technological order. Strategic benchmark is the conversion of vocational teacher education in the humanities and technological education. The condition for such transformation is the integration of process and project approaches in the management of educational systems. The authors allocated the identification characteristics of process and project approaches in the system of innovative education. Modernization of the vocational education system requires the solution of problems including the following: methodological training of teachers and the development of their readiness to innovate; definition of priority directions of science and education and innovation activities of the educational institutions; optimization the educational programs and strengthening their professional and pedagogical orientation on the basis of problem-modular design of educational content; search technology of the formation and development of socially and professionally important qualities and the competencies of teachers; scientific-pedagogical maintenance of psychological and pedagogical training and professional development of teachers. The requirements for the organization to developmental professional and educational environment and the educational process are proposed. The authors defined the topics of the targeted educational projects aimed at improving the quality of psychological and pedagogical training and improvement of the humanitarian and technological qualification of teachers of vocational school. Practical significance concludes in the possibility of applying the data analysis in the design of innovative educational activities in the system of vocational teacher education.

KNOWLEDGE ENGINEERING METHODS IN DISTRIBUTED EDUCATIONAL CONTENT DESIGN

On the basis of the right of students with special needs in the e-learning like other members of the community, came this research, which targeted this neglected student category in the Arab world and that they have the capacity and productivity are disabled because of their disability, which can be utilized and invested to the fullest for the benefit of the community, if they gave them educated electronically appropriate decisions by electronic educational content designed according to the principles of their own scientific and specifications within the e-learning programs circulating on the Internet. The main objective of this research: acknowledge of the technical and educational specifications for the designof educational contentfor studentswith special needs in e-learning, and the ramifications of this main goal the following objectives: 1-knowledge of the general principles for the design of educational content for students with special needs on the Internet 2_knowledge of the functions of educational technology and its importance for people with special needs 3- Knowledge of the use of educational technology barriers for people with special needs. Methodology: The following descriptive approach and method, to identify the technical and educational specifications for the design of educational content through the analysis of the results of previous studies and researches. Results: found the effectiveness of the e-learning method, and distance education to increase the collection of knowledge-related skills among students with special needs. Teaching Adaptively for Music - Smart Opportunities Emerging from the Representation of Score Notation

Many developmental approaches have been proposed in literature and are currently in use in order to define music education curricula for young students. In this context, our research aims at describing a computer-based framework for the adaptive teaching of music. A music learning environment can be considered as smart when adaptive technologies are employed in order to improve student performance. Research about effective teaching practice pointed out that adaptive instruction can provide school settings able to foster inclusion and differentiation. Adaptive instruction can be conceptually defined as a set of alternative didactic strategies – either formal or non-formal – within a curricular program which are able to meet the student needs In our proposal, adaptivity is involved from two different points of view: in fact, adaptivity implies the possibility for the teacher to choose an instruction method fit for the single student, as well as the possibility for students to have a learning environment modelled on their personal plans, , preferences and previous knowledge. This approach can be adopted thanks to a computer-based framework including: i) a multi-layer format to encode music, and ii) an advanced application oriented to music educational content design and fruition. As regards the former aspect, we will briefly introduce an international standard known as IEEE 1599, specifically designed for the comprehensive description of music. The latter aspect will be covered by a software prototype – namely an advanced media player supporting IEEE 1599 documents – freely available via Web.

The Knowledge and information are rapidly built through networks; and, through this, epochal changes and developments are reoccurring in diverse societal economic cultural ways. Especially, digital-education emerging together with educational environment changes is taking its place as an educational system which will be able to replace traditional education methods by overcoming the limitations of time and space held by present education methods. The role of GUI(Graphic User Interface) design, which adds user cognitive power and convenience as a method of purveying innumerous information, is growing. Consequently in this research, through the analysis of educational contents utilized in public organizations, research is performed regarding an educational content design for a more effective education of learners.
