The study was conducted to describe the current situation in the implementation of the flexible endoscope handling procedure at the Endoscopy Department of the Central Highlands General Hospital, in 2021. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study, using quantitative research on 295 opportunities to perform the processing procedure of the flexible endoscopic through observation using a checklist built on the tube handling guidelines flexible endoscope of the Ministry of Health. Findings: Results showed that the overall correct implementation rate for the whole process is 85.8%. The incorrect steps are step 1 (pre-clean), step 2 (tube removal), step 3 (leak check), step 5 (tube test), step 7 (coating and drying) with the ratios are 2.8%; 1.7%; 8.1%; 4.1%; 6.4% respectively. Conclusion: The overall correct performance rate for the entire flexible endoscopic procedure at the Endoscopy department of the Central Highlands General Hospital in 2021 is 85.8%. There are still flaws in the implementation of the process. From this situation, the hospital as well as the Department of Endoscopy have solutions to improve compliance with the procedure for handling flexible endoscopes.
