Substitution of spiritual and cultural values for economic-technocratic foundations of modern civilization was observed by many culture experts and philosophers of XIX-XX centuries, from Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and Spengler and ending with Heidegger and Fromm. The same observation was done by the representatives of Russian philosophic-religious Renaissance who noticed total tragedy of human life located at the cross-roads of the this and other world, phenomenological and noumenal. Civilization-economic factor is felt on all levels of human life, from habitual thinking to official ideology. Comparison of culture and civilization at the present moment is not possible in traditional forms because the civilization itself (as utilitarian-pragmatist structure) needs its own culture with its own hierarchy of values. Civilization built on commercial basis brings with it the denial of culture. Culture is intended for realization of creative, constructive forces of human spirit; civilization is intended for realization of human utilitarian-biological needs. However, if realization of utilitarian-biological needs is aimed for sensor-perceptive reactions, final target of spiritual realization is stimulation of transcendental, creative potentialities of a man. The goal of culture is spiritualization of existence; the goal of civilization is objectivation of the spirit. Ideal of culture is total spirituality; the ideal of civilization is pure objectiveness.
