Innovative approaches to the study of "Anatomy and Physiology" in higher education institutions (HEIs) should include such methods as virtual anatomy and physiology, visualization tools that contribute to better learning of educational material. The purpose of the study is to generalize and systematize modern approaches to the study of anatomy and physiology in higher educational institutions of the physical education profile, to find innovative approaches to the study of the academic discipline by students in order to form standardized competencies. The methodological basis of the research is a complex of methods, general scientific methods of research, in particular analysis and synthesis; generalization and systematization; content analysis. Scientific novelty: the article analyzes and defines the advantages of using an interactive teaching method - the case-study method. The advantage of using case methods is the activity of students, the involvement of students in working with information, the formation of skills and abilities to make decisions independently. Virtual laboratories, simulators and computer programs contribute to the successful study of "Anatomy and Physiology". Conclusions: improving the quality and effectiveness of students' training in "Anatomy and Physiology" can be achieved using visualization tools (virtual anatomy and physiology), interactive learning methods - case-study, video fragments from YouTube.
