Goalball is the only Paralympic sport created specifically for blind and visually impaired people, in which two teams of three players participate. This article shares the importance of sport, in this case goalball, in the lives of young people in the department of Cordoba. Over the years, this sport has become a reference of hope for men and women with visual disabilities. In this article we present goalball, a sport created exclusively for visual disabilities. The objective is to analyze how this modality has managed to give participation to a group of young people, turning them into sport leaders in the region during the approach to this work, the concepts of disability, visual disability, goalball are initially analyzed from a qualitative perspective, the technique used was the life history, the collection techniques and instruments of data handled were direct observation and a semi-structured interview in order to elaborate the details of each of the stories, as results it was evident that many of those interviewed thanks to this sport managed to get ahead, leaving behind depressive moments, stress situations related to the stages of mourning for having acquired a disability, as well as identifying how many went from being locked in their homes without any hope to being national and international leaders today. The most important conclusions are that this sport is hope for many in the world. region, that many have moved forward thanks to it, leaving behind difficult situations or moments.
