Thoughts on the Reform of College Physical Education under the Background of “Curriculum Ideology and Politics”

In the physical education curriculum, ideological and political education is an important way to cultivate talents with both ability and political integrity. As a place for cultivating professional talents, colleges and universities must adhere to the fundamental direction of “strengthen moral education and cultivate people”. By clarifying the concept of physical education in colleges and universities, it is necessary to highlight the characteristics of courses and professions, adhere to the guiding ideology of “student-centered”, analyze the whole process of integrating curriculum ideology and politics into college physical education, and put forward corresponding countermeasures to build a background of “curriculum ideology and politics”. Under the teaching mode of pedagogy courses in colleges and universities, a feasible basis for the construction of ideological and political courses in the teaching of physical education in colleges and universities is provided.

A Comparative Study on the Concept and Curriculum of Physical Education between China and the United States

In the context of globalization, it is valuable to examine the concepts and curriculum settings of physical education in China and the United States. These two countries, recognized as important sports powers in the field of education, offer insight into similarities and differences that can inform future research. By comparing their approaches, this study aims to provide valuable insights and suggestions. Through literature review and field research, this study found that there are certain differences in core values, teaching methods and evaluation systems, social impact and significance of physical education between China and the United States. Furthermore, there are variations in curriculum objectives, content, organization, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of physical education between China and the United States. This study concludes by offering relevant insights and suggestions for both countries, as well as acknowledging the limitations of the research and suggesting potential directions for future studies.

Lived Experiences of Students on Crafting Outputs in Group Performance-Based Task in Physical Education

This study aimed to investigate the experiences of students in group performance-based tasks in Physical Education. In addition, this study also wanted to know the strategies and coping mechanisms of the students employed and their insights regarding group performance-based tasksin Physical Education. This study involved fourteen (14) students, seven (7) of the 14 participants were subjected to an in-depth interview (IDI), while the remaining seven (7) took part in a focus group discussion (FGD). Purposive sampling was used to select participants; data were gathered through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. The results revealed seven (7) major themes of the participants' experiences: observation of strengthened and happy relationships among groupmates; struggles in time management; observation to uncooperative members; over-reliance on leaders; difficulties in maintaining discipline among members; conflicts in group dynamics; and issues in mental health. Moreover, the participants showcased their strategies and coping mechanisms from the six (6) major themes that emerged including: exercising proper time management; distributing tasks and assignments; extending patience to groupmates; maintaining good communication; establishing support system; and motivating groupmates. Lastly, the participants shared their insights that revealed five (5) major themes: teachers’ instruction and management in group tasks; inculcate the value of teamwork; valuing inclusivity and good communication; cultivate good values in engaging group tasks; and provide learners with skill development activities. Regardless of the difficulties presented by group performance-based tasks in physical education, students worked together to overcome and explore different approaches to develop achievable and efficient ways that improve the implementation and more comprehensive understanding of physical education concepts

Social Change and Mutations in the Human Sciences Applied to Physical and Sporting Activities in Tunisia

This research focuses on the relationship that exists between scientific transformations in human sciences applied to physical and sporting activities during social change in Tunisia after the revolution. The main objective of our study is to identify the link between studies published in the sociology of sport in relation to the major social changes in Tunisia after the revolution. The data was collected through the analysis of research and studies published by teacher-researchers in sociology of sport at the higher institutes of sport and physical education of Tunisia in various international journals. The main results of this article show that the research carried out during this period is not directly linked to the changes that have arisen from the world of Tunisian physical education, but it aims to position it according to Western sporting social phenomena. In addition, the existence of certain studies which take into account the training process and the conceptions of learning physical education in contemporary Tunisian schools.

This study aims to determine the form and concept of physical education in the perspective of Islamic education philosophy. The method in this research uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. This approach aims to collect, review, and interpret all available evidence and information about physical education in the perspective of Islamic education philosophy. The results showed that physical education is very important and needs to be considered to maintain and care for the body and as a means of preparing a healthier and stronger generation. Through maintaining cleanliness, treating diseases, getting used to exercise and regulating eating and drinking patterns in everyday life. So that with physical education can help and facilitate the body to worship the almighty Allah. This research is certainly expected to be one of the references in people's lives about the importance of physical education.

A Knowledge-Based Approach to Physical Education: A Systematic Review

In the current period, there is a growing interest in finding solutions for the new generation to have a more physically active life. One of the main tools we can act is the physical education lesson. Purpose: This paper aimed to find out if there is a new approach to the physical education class, one with a much more pedagogical (knowledge-based) character than the traditional approach based on competition and physical performance (sport-based). Method: Based on the PRISMA statement’s guidelines, several 105 papers were selected. Results and Discussion: The most commonly used terms to describe this new approach are: "physical literacy", "conceptual physical education" and "fitness education". The main role of this knowledge-based approach is to complete the practical activity and not to replace it. To achieve this, the theoretical component of physical education provides the student with knowledge of concepts, principles and methods, essential for effectively managing physical activity. The last part of the paper presents the main barriers that make teachers reject this knowledge-based approach.

Construction of a Sensory Integration Physical Education Model to Improve Basic Motor Skills in Primary Schools

Background and aims: In the construction of primary schools' basic motor skills sensory integration sports model, the study also entered a new teaching concept model, which is the original physical education curriculum model to deepen the reform, highlighting the health goals of the construction of the curriculum model, the value of which includes physical health, improve mental health, and enhance social resilience of a training model. This paper aims to help Chinese primary school students improve sensory integration disorder and basic motor skills ability in the lower grades of primary school, a physical education model of basic motor skills in primary schools was constructed. Materials and methods: In this study, the questionnaire method and expert interview method were used to collect data from 50 teachers and 1000 first-grade students, and a sample of 390 students and 50 teachers were selected to study the current status of basic motor skills and sensory integration ability of primary school first-grade students and then used Delphi technology, focus groups, and Connoisseurship to determine the basic motor skills sensory integration physical education teaching model in primary schools. Results: The study shows that the experts participating in the study recognize the integration of sensory integration teaching mode and basic motor skills teaching mode, and the basic motor skills sensory integration physical education teaching mode in primary schools is consistent with the standard concept of Chinese physical education and health curriculum, which is an expansion and extension of the teaching content of physical education courses to help students' all-round physical and mental development. Conclusions: The study underscores experts' validation of integrating sensory and motor skills teaching in Chinese primary school physical education. This innovative approach aligns with holistic curriculum goals, promoting students' comprehensive physical and mental development.

Alexander Petrovich Petrov made a huge contribution to the development of wrestling and the Olympic movement, he became the first Russian to win an Olympic medal. In 1908 A. P. Petrov became a silver medalist at the IV Olympic Games (London) in French wrestling competitions. A. P. Petrov was at the origin of the creation of the concept of domestic physical education of students. He did a lot as a theorist and practitioner in the field of professional physical culture and sports education, working at the leading universities of the country – the State Pedagogical Institute named after A. I. Herzen and the Institute of Physical Education named after P. F. Lesgaft. He was engaged in the development of student sports, headed the Department of Physical Education of the Military Medical Academy. At the same time, the personality of A. P. Petrov and his contribution to the declared directions of physical education and sports are poorly studied and underestimated. Studying the biography of A. P. Petrov is important from the historical, pedagogical and local history sides, his name needs to be perpetuated and promoted. The new and available in scientific circulation information sources about the life of A. P. Petrov are analyzed, further directions of research of his personality are outlined. Research methods are analysis of scientific publications, periodicals, memoirs, archival materials, photographic documents, epistolary activity with experts, search method. Publications and other sources devoted to the facets of the personality of A. P. Petrov – sports, scientific, pedagogical, medical, forensic, stage, managerial, etc – were found and analyzed. It was proved that A. P. Petrov was the first Russian Olympic medalist. Previously unused sources have been introduced into scientific circulation, the burial place of A. P. Petrov was found. It is shown that A. P. Petrov was a very hardworking person, devoted to his chosen path, respected among his colleagues. The directions of further research of the personality of A. P. Petrov are outlined.

Evaluation of the Impact of Using Technology in Physical Education Learning at Serambi Mekkah University

This research aims to evaluate the impact of using technology in Physical Education learning in the Serambi Mekkah University environment. To integrate technology in the Physical Education curriculum, this research identifies its potential impact on student participation, achievement of learning outcomes, and improvement of physical well-being. The research method involved a literature review to detail the theoretical foundation, a needs analysis to understand the status of the Physical Education program at the university, and the implementation of technology-based interventions in learning. This research makes a significant contribution to the understanding of the effectiveness of applying technology to improve Physical Education learning, especially in the context of Serambi Mekkah University. Data collected through surveys, interviews and observations will be analyzed comprehensively to evaluate the effectiveness of the technology integration. It is hoped that the results of this research can provide valuable insight for the development of better learning policies and practices in supporting physical education, health, and recreation in higher education environments. Through an in-depth understanding of the impact of using technology in Physical Education learning, it is hoped that this research can provide concrete and effective recommendations for improving the quality of physical education at Serambi Mekkah University. As a higher education institution, the implementation of technology in the learning process can be the key to stimulating student engagement, increasing understanding of Physical Education concepts, and strengthening aspects of physical well-being. Therefore, it is hoped that the findings from this research will pave the way towards the development of innovative learning policies and strategies at university level, as well as stimulate further discussion about the role of technology in physical education.

USING OF EUROPEAN EXPERIENCE IN THE ELABORATING OF NEW CONCEPTUAL APPROACHES TO PHYSICAL EDUCATION OF UKRAINIAN HIGH SCHOOL PUPILS

The relevance of the problems presented in the research article is the need to elaborate new conceptual approaches to the physical education of Ukrainian high school pupils against the background of the war and granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership. The purpose of the article is to study the best practice of school physical education in European countries and outline the ways of its using in Ukraine. The article uses such research methods as methods of information collection and processing, comparative analysis, classification and typology, specification and generalization. The specifics of different concepts of physical education in the EU countries are shown on the example of Germany, France and Italy. The author proved that the German model does not involve state intervention in the regulation of relations in the area of physical education and sports. At the same time, France and Italy represent a model of state regulation of these relations, in the framework of which physical culture is recognizing as having a fundamental social importance for ensuring national-cultural identity. From the pedagogical point of view, in these countries, the health-adaptive model of school physical education takes the leading place, and the sports-recreational model is used as a companion. Germany, as well as the Anglo-Saxon world as a whole, is characterized by a combination of person-oriented and health-adaptive models. Ukraine after gaining independence moved from socially-oriented to a personal-oriented model of school physical education with certain elements of health-adaptive model, which was an imitation of the Anglo-Saxon tradition. Today, solving the task of increasing the level of health and physical readiness of school youth against the background of satisfaction of the public need for reliable provision of national security and protection of the state from aggressive encroachments involves a transition to a socially-oriented model with new content. This model involves the intensification of the educational process, stricter approaches to the physical education of high school pupils in the context of their preparation for potential military service, and emphasis attention on the acquisition of military-applied motor skills. At the same time, it is necessary to preserve the elements of the existing trend towards the liberalization of school physical education, to avoid excessive utilitarian character of the educational process and directive methods of managing educational activity. To implement such a reform, it is important to use European experience. It is primarily about strengthening state support for the industry, expanding the social component in the physical education of high school pupils, developing flexible curricula to which teachers could add their author's components, ensuring the formation of high moral qualities and patriotism in physical culture lessons.

HISTORICAL PREREQUISITES FOR THE FORMATION OF THE ETHNIC CONCEPT OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION

he relevance of the study is due to the observation of complex problems of a scientific-theoretical, socio-economic, as well as practical nature, the disclosure of which is aimed at arguing ethnic aspects that formulate a conceptual understanding of the modern system of physical education. The purpose of this study is to identify the prerequisites and general regularities of the formation of the ethnic concept of physical education based on the description of historical facts, their scientific explanations and previously advanced hypotheses. From the modern point of view, in the context of the development of physical education and the policy of sports movement, there is a need to review the state's theoretical and methodological approaches to the assessment of the role of historical facts, events and specific people. We believe that an adequate attitude to the problem of the history of physical education and the historical heritage of the past will allow us to learn the lessons of history and find optimal means for managing the process of physical education of the young generation.

European experience in organizing physical education and promoting a healthy lifestyle in educational institutions

In this article, the European experience of organizing physical education and promoting a healthy lifestyle in educational institutions is analyzed. The research aims to identify the main features of the concepts of physical education and sports that dominated Western Europe in the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. It is noted that the basic concepts of physical education and sports of the 1970s in certain countries have been transformed into more balanced ones. It is indicated that the main content of the Bologna declaration is that 47 member countries have committed themselves to bring their educational systems in line with a model that is transparent and easily comparable. This allows for the issuance of European-style diplomas over time. The analysis of the development of PE and sports in Western Europe allows us to draw some conclusions that may be useful for the leaders of various state authorities and sports organizations to improve the system of physical education and sports. Actions aimed at improving the physical fitness of young people, preserving and developing the need for physical activity, increasing the enrollment of students in sports clubs, and participating in competitions are of utmost importance, as they distract young people from various harmful hobbies typical of the academic sphere.

ПРОБЛЕМИ ФІЗИЧНОГО ВИХОВАННЯ В ІСТОРІЇ ПЕДАГОГІЧНОЇ ДУМКИ (ДРУГА ПОЛОВИНА ХІХ СТОЛІТТЯ)

The theory of physical education in Ukraine has gone through a certain path of formation and development. Each historical period had its own guiding principles in the development of the physical education system, which require an objective assessment and rethinking. The article examines the problem of physical education in the history of pedagogical thought (second half of the 19th century). It was found that the theory of physical education in Ukraine in the second half of the 19th century. was formed under the influence of important socio-economic and pedagogical transformations. In the 60s of the 19th century. the problems of physical education and mass physical culture of youth were widely discussed in the pedagogical press. In a certain way, they tried to update the process of teaching physical subjects in male educational institutions due to the spread of Western European methods. The conducted research shows that in the pedagogical opinion at the end of the 19th century. stable prerequisites for the idea of organizing physical culture and mass work were formed. In the pedagogy program, in the "Physical education" section, K. Ushinsky outlined his vision of the system of knowledge necessary for a teacher: the general concept of physical education, its meaning, the peculiarities of studying physical and physiological processes in the human body, the peculiarities of the development of the muscular and nervous systems. Ushinskyi's ideas became the key to the effectiveness of mass exercise classes among teenagers and young people. P. Lesgaft suggested using a relatively small set of natural movements: walking, running, jumping, throwing, wrestling, resistance exercises, simple gymnastic exercises, games, excursions. These means of physical education are used in different conditions and in various forms, in conditions of gradual complication depending on pedagogical tasks. The system of physical education, P. Lesgaft believed, should be strictly maintained in the sense of the gradualness and sequence of the use of exercises. Many of these pedagogical ideas and provisions have not lost their significance in our time, so they must be implemented in the practice of educational work. Organizational and substantive aspects of physical education in the history of domestic pedagogy require further consideration.

Construction of Physical Education Teaching System in Colleges and Universities Based on the Concept of Lifelong Physical Education

Physical education always undertakes the two core contents of physical quality education and comprehensive ability education in colleges and universities, helping students cultivate correct health awareness, promoting the improvement of students' physical functions and health levels, reflecting the importance and particularity of talent cultivation and national quality improvement in the stage of higher education. In the context of the continuous expansion of our national sports vision, the continuous promotion of national sports projects, and the continuous development of physical education in colleges and universities, the physical quality of college students is constantly declining. In response, this article has conducted a research on college physical education based on the concept of lifelong physical education, using changes in students' physique, learning efficiency, and innovation awareness as indicators to identify whether teaching methods are effective. Regular evaluation of the effectiveness of teaching methods can ensure the effectiveness and scientific of method innovation. To continuously enhance students' autonomy and enthusiasm, ensure that each student can receive reasonable physical exercise, and achieve their own healthy growth and development.

Two Fields, Overlapping Messages: Investigating the Related Concepts of Leisure Studies and Physical Education

ABSTRACT Inter-disciplinarity and bridging disciplinary boundaries is a practice that scholars often strive for within higher education research. Kinesiology encompasses many aspects such as physical activity, physical education and community. In this article, the two fields of leisure studies and physical education are analyzed as a means to argue that these fields have overlapping messages that are currently being missed within scholarship. Using the theory of boundary crossing, this paper will argue that as a result of missing these current messages, we are at risk of disconnecting education from the social context of leisure. As a result of such analysis, this paper presents conclusions on ways in which research and practice can seek to strengthen the connection between these contexts and open new lines of enquiry that would be fruitful to explore.

Humanities-Oriented Physical Education for Social and Emotional Learning

Children and adolescents face increased mental health issues and social isolation, especially within the COVID-19 environment. In response to the current situation, the concept of social and emotional learning (SEL) has shown positive influences on children and adolescents. This paper will provide a brief definition and values of SEL. Then, the authors will suggest the concept of Humanities-Oriented Physical Education (HOPE) as a vehicle for SEL. Following this, under the umbrella of HOPE, this paper will introduce one specific pedagogical model that has the potential for creating successful learning environments for SEL within physical education settings.
