In the modern educational space of the transport industry, where technological changes become an integral part of everyday life, the implementation of interactive methods of distance learning plays a key role in effective theoretical training of transport personnel. The implementation of distance education and the use of interactive methods provide unique opportunities for turning theory into practice, providing students and employees of the transportation industry with the necessary competencies. This article deals with the application of interactive methods in distance education in the theoretical training of transportation personnel. The article discusses the current state of transportation education in the Russian Federation and emphasizes the importance of theoretical training in this field. The authors study the main concepts of distance education, including its definition, advantages and limitations, highlight the role of interactivity in the training of transport personnel, and analyze games, simulations, virtual and augmented reality as constituent elements of interactive methods of distance learning.

Measuring Effectiveness of Islamic Studies Distance Education in The Digital Era at The International Open University (IOU) Indonesia

International Open University (IOU) is an international accredited campus that created new breakthrough by offering the concept of distance education since its inception. IOU is a pioneer in implementing distance learning with a concentration on Islamic Studies through digital media. Entering Indonesia as the country with the largest Muslim population, IOU opened a special Indonesian language program. This study is a form of Measures of Effectiveness (MOE) of Islamic Studies distance education through digitalization at the IOU Indonesia. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data collection techniques used were observations, interviews, and literature review. The results of the study concluded that IOU Indonesia in some cases has its own independent program, but in general it is based on the central that has all the components of distance education through digitalization except for controls for students or graduates. IOU Indonesia also fulfills the basic principles of learning Islamic Studies.

Distance Education as a Catalyst for Women's Empowerment in India

The concept of distance education has been developed in various developed countries of the world. Distance education also serves dropouts, older students, and disadvantaged groups. In India, distance learning is a useful tool in closing the gender gap and empowering women. It plays a significant part in providing women with access to higher education. This paper attempts to study the enrolment of female students at higher education levels in distance education for upgrading the status of women in India. his study was qualitative and documentary in nature. Results showed that the enrolment of female students in undergraduate and postgraduate is higher than in PG diploma and certificate courses. The study concluded that distance education played a significant role in women's empowerment through female students' participation in higher education. The study suggests remedial measures to overcome constraints faced by female students in pursuing higher education.

Model of Library Promotion with The Concept of Distance Education in Universitas Terbuka

ABSTRACT A good library not only has a nice and magnificent building, but also must have a complete and up-to-date collection, be it books, journals, or other electronic collections. But all will be meaningless if the users do not know what the library has. For this reason, a good library promotion is needed, so that users know the library's collections. This paper aims to determine how effective the promotion model is in The Universitas Terbuka library with the concept of distance education. Research methods using descriptive methods that are based on existing data. Results and Discussion From the results it is known that the promotion model at Universitas Terbuka using networks and social media in library promotion is still less effective. However, there is a significant increase in numbers, but far from expected. The role of social media, Zoom, and playback of e-flyer about library services on each streaming service of study programs in the Universitas Terbuka has also not helped much. Conclusions and Suggestions. The Library Promotion Model using Networks and Social Media is still insignificant even though there is an increase in the use of library collections at the Universitas Terbuka, in the future the Universitas Terbuka Library needs to change and develop a new promotion strategy. ABSTRAK Perpustakaan yang baik tidak hanya memiliki gedung yang bagus dan megah, namun juga harus memiliki koleksi yang lengkap dan mutakhir, baik itu buku, jurnal atau koleksi elektronik lainnya. Namun semua akan tiada arti bila pemustaka tidak mengetahui apa yang dimiliki oleh perpustakaan tersebut. Untuk itulah perlunya promosi perpustakaan yang baik, agar pemustaka mengetahui apa saja koleksi yang dimiliki perpustakaan. Tulisan ini bertujuan mengetahui seberapa efektif model promosi di Perpustakaan Universitas Terbuka yang berkonsep pendidikan jarak jauh. Metode Penelitian dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif yaitu berdasarkan data yang ada. Hasil dan Pembahasan Dari hasil diketahui bahwa model promosi di Universitas Terbuka menggunakan jaringan dan media sosial (medsos) dalam promosi perpustakaan masih kurang efektif, meski ada kenaikan angka yang naik secara signifikan, namun jauh dari yang diharapkan. Peran medsos, zoom, pemutaran e-flyer tentang layanan perpustakaan pada setiap layanan streaming program studi di Universitas Terbuka juga belum banyak membantu. Kesimpulan dan Saran. Model Promosi Perpustakaan yang menggunakan Jaringan dan Medsos masih kurang optimal walau ada kenaikan penggunaan koleksi Perpustakaan di Universitas Terbuka, ke depannya pihak perpustakaan Universitas Terbuka perlu merubah dan menyusun strategi promosi yang baru.

Effects of Lifelong Learning on the Readiness for Online Learning

Purpose: Technological advancement, which started with the Industrial Revolution, accelerated by the end of the 20th century. These developments created radical changes not only in working life but also in our social and cultural lives. The need for people to constantly learn new things in order to keep up with these changes created the concept of lifelong learning. In addition, the concept of distance education has been in our lives in various forms for many years. Especially after the 2000s, internet-based distance education, ie., online education, has become quite common. Readiness for online learning emerged as one of the important factors affecting the efficiency of online learning. In this study, the relationship between lifelong learning and readiness for online learning was examined.
 Design/Methodology/Approach: For this purpose, Lifelong Learning and Online Learning Readiness scales were administered to university students. In total, 390 students from different universities and departments participated in the research. 
 Findings: With the data obtained, it was tried to determine if lifelong learning had a significant effect on the sub-dimensions of readiness for online learning. In addition, determining if the gender and the type of education program had a significant effect on these two concepts constitutes the sub-objective of the research.
 Highlights: The findings showed that there was a significant and positive relationship between the sub-dimensions of readiness for online learning and lifelong learning. On the other hand, it was observed that women were better than men and postgraduate students were better than other students in terms of both readiness for lifelong learning and online learning.

Evaluation Method of Practice Teaching Quality of Tourism Management Major Based on STEAM Distance Education Concept and Cloud Computing

INTRODUCTION: Tourism Management based on cloud computing is critical in developing quality human resources. Establishing a scientific and practical system to assess the quality of Tourism Management based on cloud computing and identify and improve problems in Tourism Management based on cloud computing primarily based on cloud computing is essential to ensure the quality of Tourism Management based on cloud computing and realize human development goals.OBJECTIVES: To solve the current problems of China's Tourism Management based on cloud computing, such as weak teachers, STEAM being too "soft," and leadership being too "hard," the concept of STEAM distance learning, literature analysis and other research methods are proposed, and the quality assessment system of Tourism Management based on cloud computing for the bachelor's degree in Tourism Management based on cloud computing is researched in the standard documents of education and management and related literature.METHODS: Established through interviews with qualified experts, tourism teachers, tourism professionals, and others. Factor analysis was used to adjust the system of indicators for tourism students and define an evaluation system consisting of level 1 and corresponding level 2 hands to determine the weights of the hands.RESULTS: The results show that students are satisfied with "average" internships. The lowest level of satisfaction was with the "evaluation of the training process," but this indicator was the highest. Further analysis of the results suggests insufficient investment in professional practice in Tourism Management based on cloud computing.CONCLUSION: Argues that the empirical research and analysis of the current Tourism Management based on cloud computing students can be used to understand the accurate evaluation of Tourism Management based on cloud computing activities based on the solution of the existing problems to improve students' innovative and practical abilities.

Experiences of Pre-Service Science Teachers in “Teaching Practice” During the Covid-19 Pandemic

The study was carried out the case study method under the category of descriptive research approaches. A purposeful sampling method was used in the study because it allows in-depth research by selecting rich situations. Semi-structured interviews and semi-structured observation forms were used as data collection tools. Interviews are preferred in the research process because they provide the opportunity to analyze the situation in depth with flexible questions as well as questions directed to discover the richness of the schemas in the brain of individuals. Observations have been preferred because they allow the examination of human behavior in natural environments. In this research, the content analysis method was used in which the existence of codes in the qualitative data obtained during the analysis process was determined, themes were formed by combining these codes, and inferences were made. The analysis of the research findings, it was determined that the majority of pre-service science teachers associated the concept of distance education with the 'problem'. When it is explained that the pre-service science teachers will conduct the 'teaching practice' course with distance education during the COVID-19 pandemic process, their emotional state, anxiety, fear, curiosity, and sadness. As a result of the research, "Various projects can be developed to improve the existing infrastructure and provide more infrastructure support to prospective science teachers and schools, especially science teachers, within the framework of distance education and educational technologies. In this way, universities, schools, teachers, students, and parents are a stakeholder in educational technologies.

Instrument Analysis of Library Service Components in Distance Education Conceptualized Library Accreditation at Universitas Terbuka

Library accreditation is a form of legal recognition of a library in an institution. Open university libraries that have the concept of distance education carry out library accreditation from the directorate of standardization of the National Library of Indonesia. Where there are 6 components and 103 instruments. in this paper only discusses component 3, namely the service component, where there are 19 instruments. From the discussion of library service component instruments, there are several instruments that are not suitable for open university libraries that implement distance education, namely library visitor instruments, where those who come offline are far different from conventional universities while online open university library visitors are more than 16 million. In addition, the collection lending instrument is also different, where borrowing at open universities is done virtually. In the future, there needs to be a distinction for instruments for distance education libraries and conventional university libraries.

Expanded Reality: Just a Trend of our Time or do We Need Technology?

The article defines the concepts of distance education, distance learning and performs their general analysis. Their main forms, types and meanings in the educational system, as well as advantages and disadvantages are considered. The historical foundations of distance learning and all the stages of its formation are clearly traced, followed by the definition of characteristic features. Describes possible ways to eliminate existing problems and improve the quality of such learning. Considerable attention is paid to distance learning technology and its resources, in particular, expanded reality. Its key features, strengths and weaknesses, importance in the educational process and distance education are outlined. To create this article we used methods of synthesis and analysis, historical, comparative, and theoretical analysis of scientific literature and thematic journals and collection of data from sources. To achieve the proposed goal, we used the literature of various scientists and researchers who devoted their works to the subject of distance education. This allowed an in-depth study and research on this topic and came to the conclusion that distance learning is not inferior to traditional and is in increasing demand every year. In turn, expanded reality technology is exactly what the modern student needs to fully immerse himself in the world of learning and make the process exciting, interesting and interactive.

The potential of digital technology is efficiently utilized in many sectors of the contemporary, developing world. In particular, the fact that the educational system is providing more and more of these chances each day helps to uphold the right to education. We are aware that the coronavirus epidemic, which has had devastating effects on all of mankind over the past two years, has also brought to light a number of issues in the area of education that have not yet been fully handled. In the context of a protracted pandemic, distance education has become the only way to continue the educational process. Without a doubt, the usage of IT tools and digital learning environments is crucial in providing high-quality remote education. Because this form of education is unimaginable without them. This article discusses how the possibilities of remote education have increased as a result of the development of digital technologies, which is vital in maintaining the right to higher education. It does so based on the perspectives of local and international scientists as well as legislative documents. The analysis reveals in detail the concept of distance education, the concept of distance educational technologies, the features of distance education, as well as the problems associated with the organization of distance education, their legal nature, and their essence.

Uzaktan eğitime yönelik ortaokul öğrencilerinin görüşlerinin incelenmesi üzerine nitel bir çalışma: Metaforik algıların incelenmesi

Bu araştırmanın amacı, öğrencilerin uzaktan eğitim kavramına ilişkin metaforlarını ortaya çıkarmaktır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, kolay örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilen ve 2020-2021 yılları arasında Ankara'da öğrenim görmekte olan 64 ilköğretim öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Verilerin analizinde içerik analizi teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre dört kategori altında otuz sekiz metafor oluşturulmuştur. Öğrenci görüşlerinde ekonomi, duygu, teknolojik/akademik ve başa çıkmanın önemi vurgulanmıştır.

A New Model of Knowledge Acquisition: Distance Education

Taking into consideration the growing pace of globalization and the development of the technological sphere, it is significant to pay particular attention and use the ability of modern information technologies in order to significantly improve the quality and efficiency of education. Currently, the concept of distance education is gradually developing and spreading at all levels of the educational system. It involves the application of various technological achievements, such as: systems of synchronous, asynchronous, mixed acquisition of knowledge, the use of Internet platforms, multimedia solutions and the latest systems for organizing the educational process. Distance learning is the most flexible and affordable type of organization of classes. In addition, this type of learning meets the requirements of the new educational paradigm of the information society, namely: the support of open, person-oriented and continuous training of a person throughout his life; implementation of mass education of all strata of the population, regardless of their place of residence; diversifying and improving the process of acquiring knowledge by meeting the diverse needs of students from different social and demographic groups. The purpose of the article is to clarify the features of the use of distance education tools as a modern learning paradigm, their advantages and disadvantages, to study individual practical aspects of the use of distance education and to highlight the most promising directions for the development of this type of organization of the educational process. Methodology. In the course of writing the academic paper, an analytical method of working with materials was used on applying distance form of learning, as well as a questionnaire survey for practical clarification of certain aspects of distance learning from the viewpoint of its participants. Results. The viewpoint of scientists regarding the features of distance form of learning, its components, advantages and disadvantages was studied, as well as the standpoint of the participants of the educational process regarding the features of using distance education was clarified.

The Dark Triads Influence upon Academic Breach Action throughout Online Learning

Covid – 19 has given rise to learning options with the concept of distance education through online learning applications such as zoom, google meet, MS Teams, etc. and even the use of learning applications developed by higher education itself. This was done to avoid crowds as requested by the government referring to the WHO Health protocol. This is actually a very good boost for the world of Indonesian education. However, it creates another problem, which are quite disturbing and have the potential to damage the quality of the output of Indonesia education itself. The problem is cheating in online learning. This becomes very important, especially in the context of higher education. Why, because in higher education, students have become an adult learner so they are quite free from parental supervision at home, unlike the concept of online schools in elementary, junior high and high school. Considering the importance of this academic violation, to get a more comprehensive understanding of how and why cheating is done in the context of online lectures in universities by using variables related psychological traits that in line of phycological called as the dark triads (psychopathy, narcissism, and Machiavellianism) on student attitudes in online lectures.

Examination of scales developed/adapted on distance education

Distance education is an educational practice concept that has been in the literature since the 1700s, when the idea of education being accessible was adopted. It has come to life in applications in different forms, from the years when education was seen as a mere transfer of knowledge, to the years when technological developments accelerated, and transnational classes could be formed. Due to the mandatory pandemic conditions experienced in 2020 and whose effects were observed at the global level, discussions, and studies on distance education in the field of educational sciences gained momentum and became one of the important concepts. This situation has also guided the scale development studies on distance education, and it is aimed to measure the concept of distance education by associating it with many factors such as attitude, satisfaction, and perception. However, in the literature review, no content analysis was found regarding the scales developed/adapted for distance education. The aim of this study; The aim of this study is to examine the distance education scales developed in Turkish and adapted to Turkish for higher education students. In this context, scale development and adaptation studies related to the concept of distance education in Turkish with higher education students in the study group were scanned through Google Scholar, TOAD and ResearchGate databases, and the scales developed/adapted were examined in terms of sub-dimensions, distribution by years, scale types, number of items and scale types analyzed. The research is a qualitative study in which document analysis method is used. In the research, 22 scale development/adaptation studies were examined by scanning model method. According to the results, it was seen that the scale development/adaptation studies were carried out mostly in 2021 (6), the development studies (17) were dominant, the number of items in the scales was in the range of 21-30 items (8), and it was developed in a 5-point Likert type (20). It has been shown that / is adapted.

Peculiarities of Training Future Teachers of Music Art in Higher Educational Institutions in Terms of Distance Learning

The article highlights the main aspects of distance learning in the context of training future teachers of musical art. The study identifies the main approaches to the implementation of distance learning, identifies the pedagogical features and the most effective technologies and methods of distance learning in higher education institutions. The article forms the objectives, providing for the implementation of conceptual foundations for the training of future teachers of musical art in higher education institutions. The study presents theoretical and methodological substantiation of the concept of distance education, the profession of music art teacher and pedagogical foundations for higher education based on the conclusions of researchers and scientists on the relevant problem. Distance learning is widespread in today's global development, especially in the pandemic. This type of learning is an alternative to traditional learning, because it simplifies the educational process and is available to more people, develops the individual traits of each person in an online learning environment. Distance learning encourages the creation of online platforms that involve individual tasks and build competencies in various fields and branches. The study used the integrative method of synthesis and analysis of the main trends of distance learning. Research, descriptive and scientific methods were also applied to study aspects of the training of future teachers of musical art. The results of the study identified effective foundations for teacher education that improve distance learning.

ДИСТАНТТЫК БИЛИМ БЕРҮҮНҮН МАӉЫЗЫ ЖАНА МАЗМУНУ

This scientific article explains the essence of the main concepts of distance education, the idea of great didactics, models of optimization of learning, education, technology, quality, etc. Compliance with these basic pedagogical concepts is of great importance in distance learning. The article also notes that there are many issues related to the discovery and definition of the essence of distance learning technology. The lack of a clear definition of distance learning in the experience of the development of distance education and the world educational community, the views of researchers-educators and terms used in the same sense are studied. The organizational process of distance education, distance learning activities developed within the framework of the dissertation research, i.e. the general pedagogical model of distance education, is presented in the form of a diagram, its goals, objectives and summary are described.

Education in Universities in the Context of Distance Education

The aim of this work is to analyze the framework and approaches to the organization of distance learning in schools and universities. To achieve this goal, the article used both theoretical and empirical methods of scientific research. Thus, the work was based on functional and systematic methodological approaches, as well as the method of analysis and synthesis, comparison, deduction, lesson observation, generalization of independent characteristics. As a result of the study both theoretical and practical aspects of the study were obtained. Accordingly, in the theoretical part the essence of the concept of distance education, its characteristics and features of the organization was disclosed. On the basis of the information received, a practical part was established in which ways and mechanisms for conducting distance learning classes in both secondary and higher education institutions in Ukraine were established. In future scientific papers related to distance learning, it is necessary to consider ways of using artificial intelligence to organize this type of learning process.

Effect of Socio-Economic-Status and Parental Involvement on Academic Achievement of distance learners in Lakhimpur district of Assam

The concept of distance education has been universally accepted as an alternative to the formal teaching. The education which is providing through correspondence as well as through various media and through non- formally, it is known as distance education. In other sense it can be mention that distance education is the method of learning at one’s own pace, in one’s own time, without the boundaries of the formal classroom and without the formal presence of the teacher. The study was conducted in Lakhimpur district of Assam and data were collected from distance learners of PG level following random sampling method. The main purpose of the present study is to identify the effect of socio-economic status on academic achievement of distance learner. Moreover, the present study try to investigate on effect of parental involvement on academic achievement of distance learner. The findings of the study are discussed in detail in the whole paper.

INSIGHTS ON GENERATIONS OF DISTANCE EDUCATION WITH REFERENCE TO LEARNING MATERIAL

Learning is a lifelong and continuous process. It is a process of resultant changes in behaviour and this is brought out with teaching. The learning process has got no boundaries of age and becomes a lifelong process. It cannot be restricted to the four walls of schools or training institutes but can be taught according to the convenience of the learner. The distance education concept comes with an emphasis of planned with opportunities for learning at the student’s convenient time and location. Distance education is two-way communication between the learner and facilitator for providing opportunities to the learner to engage in self–study with the freedom of time, space and pace. Education takes place throughout life in many forms. Today, Distance education is equipped through technological advances. It took many generations for education, which is now imparted through distance mode of education. This research paper highlights the generations of distance education.

Ortaokul Düzeyindeki Öğrencilerin Pandemi Sürecindeki Uzaktan Eğitim ile İlgili Algılarının Metaforlar Yoluyla Belirlenmesi

This study aims to determine the perceptions of secondary school students for the concept of distance education in the pandemic process through metaphors. The case study design has been applied in this qualitative study. The study group was formed by the 322 students attending five different schools’ 5th-8th graders in Hatay in the 2020-2021 academic year. The study group of the research was selected using the purposive sampling method. The data was collected using a metaphorical perception sentence prepared for the gap-filling method. Each student was asked to produce a metaphor and to complete the statement “Distance Education is like . . . because . . .” to draw an analogy. The data was analyzed using the content analysis technique. According to data analysis, it was found that 300 valid metaphors were developed. Metaphors were classified into 3 groups such as “positive”, “negative”, “neutral”. Of the students in the study, 49.00% produced negative, 44.33% positive, and 6.67% neutral metaphors. The most dominant metaphors were given respectively “Stranger” (f=14), “School” (f=13), “Best friend” (f=9), “Parents’ meeting” (f=7). According to negative metaphors, distance education is not effective and does not provide permanent learning. According to positive metaphors, distance education is a new teaching system that meets our needs using technology during the pandemic period. According to neutral metaphors, distance education is a mandatory stage of education in the pandemic process. The Ministry of National Education should invest in developing a flexible education system that supports electronic and distance learning for the future of the education system. Consequently, improvements can be made in distance education practices by considering students' perceptions. It is believed that this study will shed light on distance education studies in the future.
