The Analysis of Students’ Difficulties in Understanding Learning Concepts on Using Zoom Cloud Meeting in Virtual Classrooms

<p>Today many people are interested in implementing the concept of virtual classes, such as using Zoom Cloud Meetings for learning. Therefore, the authors are interested in discussing the difficulties of students in understanding learning activities using Zoom Cloud Meeting in virtual classes. The purposes include describing the kind of learning activities using Zoom Cloud Meeting in virtual classes and determining the students’ difficulties using Zoom Cloud Meeting in virtual classes. This study uses qualitative methods. The data collection techniques are interviewing ten respondents from the fifth-semester English Education Department of an Islamic University in Central Java, and the documentation. The results of this study indicate that learning by using zoom helps students and teachers meet virtually face-to-face. Zoom has various features that support the learning process, such as screen sharing, raising hand icons, chat comments, screen recording, and many other potential features. However, many students say that although Zoom has complete features, this application also has several shortcomings that become obstacles for students in understanding the concept of learning. These include limited-time usage and lag applications if the network or quota is insufficient. This study implied that Zoom Cloud Meeting makes the learning material not conveyed well; thus, the students' understanding becomes incomplete or partial.</p>

The dynamics of capitalism and the return of classes

The growing social inequality and the abandonment of the welfare-state model raise the question of the return of classes to the historical arena. The author argues that the contemporary society can be characterized as capitalist due to its main structural element - a pattern of striving for profit; at the same time, the contemporary capitalist society has changed the vector of making profit from external expansion (search for new markets and centers of production) to internal intensity (automatization, increased exploitation, total commodification, removal of institutional barriers to profit). Today, capitalism has exhausted the possibilities of external expansion and is changing its strategy to the restructuring of social systems and its actors, which is accompanied by the abandonment of the welfare-state model and by the growing instability in labor relations. This leads to the situation in which middle classes disappear and social inequality grows. The concept of classes developed by K. Marx has regained its importance, since the theories created in the middle of the 20th century no longer correspond to the contemporary realities. The article revises the Marxist class model, in particular the author argues that the type of ownership is no longer a key differentiating criterion, and capitalists and proletarians are no longer the main classes of the contemporary society. The classes of employers and precariat are more relevant for describing the contemporary society. The ideas of these two classes also differ: the precariat strives to preserve social guarantees and labor rights; while employers, on the contrary, strive to maximize profits by reducing social guarantees and violating labor rights.

Representation of Taste and Social Class of Del Monte Barbeque Sauce Advertisement

This study aims to describe how taste and social class are represented through language signs, both verbal and non-verbal signs, in Del Monte Barbeque Sauce advertisement. In analysing this advertisement, Barthes' semiotic theory and Bourdieu's concept of taste and social class are used. The method used in this study is descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the analysis, it is found that this advertisement aims to convince readers to be able to bring the feel of luxury, which is identical to upper class, at home through the products offered. This departs from the advertiser's assumption that basically people from the working class, which is the segmentation of the readers of this ad, have the same taste for goods as people from the upper class.

EXPLICIT DIGITAL MODELS OF LINEAR COMPLEXES

It is obvious that the interoperability of existing digital models is insufficient. Current research on model view definitions and on their semantic enrichment addresses the issue of good interpretation of the results of existing models to improve interoperability. The alternative research presented in this paper is not concerned with interpretation. Instead, the influence of modifications in the geometric and topological concepts of the digital models themselves on their interoperability is investigated. The geometric and topological attributes of the models are made as explicit as possible. Two-dimensional line drawings are replaced by three-dimensional linear complexes to reduce the need for implicit information. The topology of a complex is described with topological tables containing all elements of the model, thus replacing the geometric neighborhood concept of the industry foundation classes. A highly efficient algorithm for the construction of new topological tables of large buildings is presented. The difficulties encountered in modifying existing topological tables are analyzed and solved. Topological and geometric aspects of linear complexes that cannot be treated explicitly with topological tables are identified and presented.

Academic Work as Factory Work: A Former Blue-Collar Worker’s Observations on Class and Caste in the Academy

What was it like to have come of age after the Glorious Thirty (1945-1975), an era Jack Metzger (2016; 2021a) describes as a time when the working-class bettered their lives? I had the misfortune to have worked in several Metropolitan Detroit factories during the period of decline after the Glorious Thirty. During that time, I witnessed what the journalist George Packer (2013) has called ‘the Unwinding,’ the unraveling of the social contract that has left the working class to their own devices to find success and salvation. In keeping with the tradition in working-class studies of sharing lived experienced of class (Linkon, 2021, pp. 20-31; Strangleman, 2005, pp. 137-51), I highlight my multiple working-class lives to show that academic life is increasingly becoming more like blue-collar labor. Through a discussion of the concepts of class and caste, and the uniqueness of working-class culture, I propose that working-class academic crossovers are essentially ghosts trapped in a liminal limbo in an intellectual version of a contemporary factory that is largely devoid of the benefits of working-class culture.

PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIKA MENGGUNAKAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING PADA MATERI POLA BILANGAN DI KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 3 WERTAMRIAN KABUPATEN KEPULAUAN TANIMBAR

This study aims to determine the learning design of speech pattern material for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Wertamrrian using a problem based learning model and determine students' ability to understand mathematical concepts through number patterns after using a problem-based learning model for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Wertamrrian. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 3 Wertamrian, Tanimbar Islands Regency in November 2022. This type of research is a qualitative research using a research design. Data collection methods used are research documentation, written tests and interviews. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusions or verification. The results of the study design research using a problem based learning (PBL) model on Bialngan Pattern material in class VIII of SMP Negeri 3 Wertamrian are as follows: (a) In the first and second meeting learning, the researcher reviewed the material related to the learning objectives to be achieved. (b) The researcher gave 2 problems to students, namely 1 problem at the first meeting and 1 problem at the second meeting. Then ask students to check the sentences or questions contained in the problem that they have not understood. (c) Researchers divide students into groups to solve problems. (d) Researchers assist students in solving the problems given by providing the supports that have been provided in the HLT that the researchers designed. (e) Researchers provide opportunities for group representatives to present each problem that has been discussed. (f) Researchers together with students discuss and check the results of the discussions that have been presented and evaluate the learning process that occurs. (2) The ability to understand mathematical concepts of class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Wertamrian on number pattern material after following the mathematics learning process using PBL is as follows: (a) In problem 1, students have a more dominant concept understanding ability in indicators 1, 3 and 4, namely restating each concept, presenting the concept in various forms of mathematical representation and using, utilizing and selecting certain procedures or operations in solving problems. (b) In problem 2, students have more dominant concept understanding skills in indicators 1, 3 and 4, namely restating each concept, presenting concepts in various forms of mathematical representation and using, utilizing, and choosing certain procedures or operations in solving problems.

THE IMPLEMENTATION EFFECT OF PEER TEACHING FLIPPED CLASSROOM ON STUDENT'S UNDERSTANDING OF MATHEMATICAL CONCEPTS IN LEARNING MATHEMATICS

This research is motivated by the low understanding of students' mathematical concepts in the mathematics learning process. The purpose of this study was to find out how the influence of the Peer Teaching Flipped Classroom learning model on mathematical concept understanding, and the influence of Peer Teaching Flipped Classroom in terms of academic ability level on the student’s mathematical concept understanding ability in class XII IPA3 SMAN 1 X Koto Tanah Datar Regency. This type of research is a quantitative nonequivalent pretest-posttest experiment. Where the research subjects were students of class XII IPA SMAN 1 X Koto Kab. Tanah Datar for the 2022/2023 academic year, totaling 44 students. The instrument used to collect data is in the form of test questions. The results of this study indicate that students have an increase in answering questions. Based on data analysis obtained F(1.42) and p=0.001 <0.05 then H0 is rejected, which means that there is an influence of Peer Teaching Flipped Classroom on understanding mathematical concepts of class XII IPA3 students of SMAN 1 X Koto Kab. Tanah Datar. However, the level of students' academic ability did not have a significant effect on understanding mathematical concepts with the application of Peer Teaching Flipped Classroom. It is seen from the analysis of the data obtained p = 0.051> 0.05, then H0 is accepted.

The Effect of Mathematical Anxiety on the Understanding of Mathematical Concepts in Class XI Students of SMAN 5 Sinjai

This research aims to determine the influence of mathematical anxiety on the understanding of mathematical concepts. The method used an investigation and sampling method with a simple random sampling technique, the sample of which was 90 students. Analysis in the context of testing research hypotheses using linear regression analysis tests, with the results of hypothesis tests producing the influence of mathematical anxiety on the understanding of mathematical concepts.

PENERAPAN LABORATORIUM VIRTUAL DALAM MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP IPA MAHASISWA PGMI

This research is an experimental research (quasi experimental design). It aims to determine the application of virtual laboratory to improve understanding of science concepts. Subjects of this research were PGMI students class of 2020. The results of data analysis using the t-test showed that students understanding of science concepts who received learning using a virtual laboratory differed significantly from students who received conventional learning. The gain based on the results of data analysis using the gain normalization of the experimental class was 0.60 and the control class was 0.41. It means that there is improvement on the students of PGMI science concept in medium category. The increase in understanding of science concepts in the experimental class was higher than in the control class.

ABSTRAK Education is a way to improve and develop quality human resources in its entirety, through the educational process it is hoped that it will produce qualified future leaders of the nation. Education does not only play a role in knowledge, but also plays a role in shaping the character of the nation. In other words, education should form intelligent and characterized people, so that it will create a nation that excels in achievement and is polite to interact in accordance with the noble values of the nation. So that in the learning process in elementary schools, students gain knowledge in learning. Supporting effective learning requires tangible tools to achieve learning objectives. So it is necessary to apply appropriate learning models and learning media. This study aims to provide new innovations in the application of the RME model with the help of learning media, namely the LINCAH media (Lingkaran Fractions) in understanding the concept of class III material at SDN 1 Pekalongan which found 28 students. The research method used is a research approach in the form of library research. Data collection techniques in the form of observation and interviews. Effective Fractal Dimension at 2d-3d Crossover

This article is aimed at reviewing and studying the effects of the 2d-3d crossover on the effective fractal and spatial dimensions, as well as on the critical exponents of the physical properties of bulk and bounded systems at criticality. Here we consider the following problems: (1) the two types of dimensional crossovers and the concept of the universality classes; (2) a smooth 2d-3d crossover and the calculation of the effective fractal and spatial dimensions, as well as the effective critical indices; (3) the fractal dimension, its connection with the random mean square order-parameter fluctuations and a new phase formation; (4) the fractal nuclei of a new phase and the medical consequences of carcinogenesis and nucleation isomorphism.

Towards a complete classification of nonchiral topological phases in two-dimensional fermion systems

In recent years, fermionic topological phases of quantum matter has attracted a lot of attention. In a pioneer work by Gu, Wang, and Wen, the concept of equivalence classes of fermionic local unitary (FLU) transformations was proposed to systematically understand nonchiral topological phases in 2D fermion systems and an incomplete classification was obtained. On the other hand, the physical picture of fermion condensation and its corresponding super pivotal categories give rise to a generic mathematical framework to describe fermionic topological phases of quantum matter. In particular, it has been pointed out that in certain fermionic topological phases, there exists the so-called q-type anyon excitations, which have no analogues in bosonic theories. In this paper, we generalize the Gu, Wang, and Wen construction to include those fermionic topological phases with q-type anyon excitations. We argue that all nonchiral fermionic topological phases in $2+1\mathrm{D}$ are characterized by a set of tensors $({N}_{k}^{ij},{F}_{k}^{ij},{F}_{kln,\ensuremath{\chi}\ensuremath{\delta}}^{ijm,\ensuremath{\alpha}\ensuremath{\beta}},{n}_{i},{d}_{i})$, which satisfy a set of nonlinear algebraic equations parameterized by phase factors ${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Xi}}}_{kl}^{ijm,\ensuremath{\alpha}\ensuremath{\beta}}$ and ${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Xi}}}_{kln,\ensuremath{\chi}\ensuremath{\delta}}^{ij}$. Moreover, consistency conditions among algebraic equations give rise to additional constraints on these phase factors, which allow us to construct a topological invariant partition for an arbitrary triangulation of 3D spin manifold. Finally, several examples with q-type anyon excitations are discussed, including the fermionic topological phase from Tambara-Yamagami category for ${\mathbb{Z}}_{2N}$, which can be regarded as the ${\mathbb{Z}}_{2N}$ parafermion generalization of Ising fermionic topological phase.

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PROJECT BASED LEARNING (PJBL) MODEL TO IMPROVE THE SIXTH GRADERS’ NATURAL SCIENCE CONCEPT UNDERSTANDING ON SIMPLE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT MATERIALS AT SDN 3 PABEAN ILIR

ABSTRACTThis study aims to examine one of the ways to increase the understanding of the science concept of class VI UPTD SDN 3 Pabean Ilir students on electrical circuit material. The type of research used is classroom action research consisting of two cycles. The stages of this research consisted of four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects in this study were students of class VI UPTD SDN 3 Pabean Ilir. The instrument in this study was a science concept understanding test. The data obtained from this study during the pre-cycle mean the test scores for students' understanding of science concepts during the pre-cycle were 71.64. In cycle I, the average score for students' understanding of science concepts was 77.92. In cycle II, the average score for students' understanding of science concepts was 88.42. It can be concluded that this study shows that the application of the project based learning (PjBL) model can improve students' understanding of science concepts in class VI on electrical circuits.

This study aims to determine the understanding of mathematical concepts of students in the material function in Class VIII SMP Negeri Satu Atap Tanjung Balai T.P 2021/2022. This study is a quantitative descriptive research. The population in this study were all students of Class VIII SMP Negeri Satu Atap Tanjung Balai consisting of two classes, namely VIII-1 and VIII-2 as many as 64 people, and the sample in this study was Class VIII-1 as many as 32 people taken by cluster random sampling technique. The instrument used in this study using a test instrument description form. Based on the analysis of data obtained shows that in the interval X > 93 there is 1 person with a percentage of 3% and very high ability category, interval 82 < X < 93 there are 6 people with a percentage of 19% with high ability category, interval 70 < X < 82 there are 18 people with a percentage of 56% with medium ability category, interval 59 < X < 70 there are 5 people with a percentage of 16% with low category, interval X < 59 There are 2 people with a percentage of 6% with very low category. So, the ability of students in understanding the concept of material function Class VIII SMP Negeri Satu Atap Tanjung Balai T.P 2021/2022 belongs to the medium category in the interval 70 < X < 82 as many as 18 people with a percentage of 56%..

Application of Super Item Learning Model in Improving Learning Outcomes of Photosynthesis Concept in Class VIII of SMP Al-Wathan Ambon

The super item learning model is one of the learning models that is oriented towards understanding and activeness of students in problem solving. This type of research is descriptive with the aim of determining whether the application of the Super ITEM model in improving the learning outcomes of the concept of photosynthesis in class VIII2 of SMP AL-Wathan Ambon. The sample in this study was 29 people. The instruments used are tests, affective observation sheets, and psychomotor observation sheets. The data analysis used is descriptive data analysis of student learning outcomes, affective observation results, and student psychomotor. The results of data analysis obtained the learning process using a super item learning model students are more active in the learning process when compared to the learning process that is carried out conventionally. These results can be seen from the classical average score obtained, namely in the initial test implementation, the average score obtained was 47.37 and increased in the implementation of the final test, whose average score obtained was 75.40. Based on the results of learning completion using a super item learning model, students who achieved a minimum completion standard of 23 people or with a percentage of 79.31 percent.

This article aims to understand, from the notion of indeterminate legal concept of the normative-objective class elaborated by the German professor Karl Engisch, the so-called Best Interest of the Child as a guiding criterion for judicial decisions dealing with the rights and interests of children and adolescents. As a case study, the decision referring to Extraordinary Appeal 888.815/RS that dealt with the possibility of home education in Brazil was analyzed. As a method, there is a qualitative analysis, using documental, bibliographical, and case analysis research. From the analysis of the judgment, it was verified that despite the theme dealing with the rights of children and adolescents, therefore, it is imperative to observe the Best Interest of the Child, only two ministers explained the term in their grounds. Only one of them, in its interpretative exercise, conducted the evaluative filling according to the understanding of the normative-objective concept interpretive exercise proceeded the evaluative filling in accordance with the understanding of the normative-objective concept.

Everyone’s an artist?

This article examines the endurance of traditional class labels among precarious workers in post-recession Dublin. It argues that tensions remain between creatives and non-creatives due to: (1) divergent class concepts, (2) a lack of social engagement, and (3) unequal access to economic, social, and cultural capital, which creatives mobilize to protect some highly vocational artistic labor. It is thus not a shared experience of the same kind of precarious exploitation that unites the precariat but a trap held in common, whereby self-actualization through labor is construed as a route to freedom. Drawing on Karl Marx’s theory of emancipation, I suggest that attempts to redress precarization should focus on undermining this encroachment of work into life, which I argue results in exploitation and alienation for all precarious workers.

PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE MAKE A MATCH TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR SISWA SMA KELAS X

This study aims to determine the increase in learning outcomes of atomic structure concepts in class X Senior High School PGRI 2 Kairatu after applying the make a match type cooperative learning model. This study uses a quantitative descriptive research method. The sample in this study were students of class X MIA with a total of 25 students. Data collection techniques were carried out using test and non-test techniques. Based on the results of the study, it showed that 24 students (96%) reached the KKM and 1 student (5%) was in incomplete qualification. The increase in student learning outcomes is obtained from an average N-gain of 0.75 in the high category. From the research results, it can be concluded that the make a match type of cooperative learning model can improve the learning outcomes of students in class X Senior High School PGRI 2 Kairatu
