Using maple software to reduce problem solving errors in teaching mathematics to future computer science teachers

This article discusses some possible uses of Maple in mathematics. Mathematics is currently in a constant state of development in the application of computer technology in education and research. The use of algebraic systems in education is still relatively small, but growing research and interest in them point to their widespread use. There are complex and abstract ideas that present an insurmountable obstacle for many students in solving basic concepts and proving many mathematical concepts. One of the most powerful computer programs that helps in learning mathematics is Maple. Maple allows you to explain classic mathematical concepts in a practical and effective way. The effectiveness of Maple is due to its ability to visualize concepts and solve complex problems that are difficult to solve manually. Maple's features help students develop new methods and better understand, learn and teach complex concepts, advanced mathematical concepts and more. Ideal for students who are developing problem solving skills and advanced development skills. Allows students to solve mathematical problems step by step. Students can practice using various integration rules.

The Effect of Computer-Supported Stem Applications on Secondary Students' Achievement and Computational Thinking Skills

In this study, the effect of STEM applications integrated with computer- supported materials on mathematics achievement in the subject of ratio-proportion and percentages was examined. In addition, it was aimed to reveal the effect of these applications on computational thinking skills. Furthermore, we aimed to reach the opinions of the experimental group students about the materials they used, STEM applications, and the application process. A mixed method was used with a sample consisting of 89 students in grade 7 of a secondary school. An achievement test, a scale of levels of computational thinking, and learning diaries were used as tools for data collection. The data were analyzed using t-test and content analysis. It was found that there was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in terms of achievement in favor of the experimental groups. In terms of computational thinking, there was a significant difference in favor of the experimental groups, except for the creativity aspect of computational thinking skills. Based on the findings obtained with the computational thinking skills scale the study had a positive impact on most aspects of computational thinking. Accessed through the learning diaries students' views on learning with STEM applications were generally positive. In particular, the opinions on computer-supported materials pointed to a very satisfactory process. The findings suggest that the inclusion of STEM activities and the use of computer technology in education contribute to students' computational thinking skills and learning.

HUBUNGAN FLEKSIBILITAS KOGNITIF DAN EFIKASI DIRI DENGAN KOMPETENSI KEWIRAUSAHAAN MAHASISWA CALON GURU PENDIDIKAN TEKNIK FKIP UNS

<em>This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between cognitive flexibility and self-efficacy with the entrepreneurial competence of prospective teacher students, namely a case study of Vocational Engineering Education students. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach, cognitive flexibility and self-efficacy as independent variables, entrepreneurial competence as the dependent variable. The population in this study were active students of the Sebelas Maret University majoring Vocational Engineering Education class 2018-2021. The total population is 921 students who consist of 315 students of Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program, Building Engineering Education as many as 297 students, and Information and Computer Engineering Education as many as 309 students. The researcher used the Stratified Random Sampling method in determining the sample size. The technique used to collect data using a Likert scale instrument. During the data collection process, the Sub-competences of Entrepreneurial Competency and Underlying Behavioral Indicators were used to measure the entrepreneurial competencies of prospective teacher students, Cognitive Flexibility Inventory (CFI) to measure the level of cognitive flexibility, and the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE) to measure the level of self-efficacy. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive relationship between cognitive flexibility and self-efficacy with entrepreneurial competence (R=.736, R2=.542, p=.000). Therefore, it can be said that the entrepreneurial competence of prospective teacher students can be improved through cognitive flexibility and self-efficacy beliefs.</em>

Teachers’ Attitude towards the Use of Computer Technology in Teaching English Vocabulary among Primary Schools in Nyamira County, Kenya

This paper investigated teachers’ perception towards use of computer technology for teaching and learning English vocabulary in primary schools in Nyamira County, Kenya. The researchers adopted the descriptive design and employed stratified simple random and purposive sampling techniques to select 62 teachers and 23 Curriculum Support Officers (CSOs) who participated in the study through questionnaire and interview. Data was analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative techniques. The study revealed that teachers hold positive perception towards the use of computer technology in English vocabulary lessons. They perceived computer technology as important in improving the quality of vocabulary teaching and learning, increasing learners’ engagement and promoting innovation in English vocabulary. The study thus recommends a need to support the positive perception of teachers through provision of regular professional development opportunities on technology use for successful use of the computer technology in teaching and learning.

Automated Monitoring of Human-Computer Interaction for Assessing Teachers' Digital Competence Based on LMS Data Extraction.

The fast-paced evolution of technology has compelled the digitalization of education, requiring educators to interact with computers and develop digital competencies relevant to the teaching-learning process. This need has prompted various organizations to define frameworks for assessing digital competency emphasizing teachers' interaction with computer technologies in education. Different authors have presented assessment methods for teachers' digital competence based on the video analysis of recorded classes using sensors such as cameras, microphones, or electroencephalograms. The main limitation of these solutions is the large number of resources they require, making it difficult to assess large numbers of teachers in resource-constrained environments. This article proposes the automation of teachers' digital competence evaluation process based on monitoring metrics obtained from teachers' interaction with a Learning Management System (LMS). Based on the Digital Competence Framework for Educators (DigCompEdu), indicators were defined and extracted that allow automatic measurement of a teacher's competency level. A tool was designed and implemented to conduct a successful proof of concept capable of automating the evaluation process of all university faculty, including 987 lecturers from different fields of knowledge. Results obtained allow for drawing conclusions on technological adoption according to the teacher's profile and planning educational actions to improve these competencies.

Development and Implementation of Visualization of CPU Components using AR

Augmented Reality (AR) technology presents innovative solutions for visualizing complex concepts and systems. This paper investigates the utilization of AR in the visualization of CPU (Central Processing Unit) components, with the objective of augmenting comprehension and learning within computer architecture. By developing an AR application, CPU components are depicted in three dimensions, enabling users to interactively explore and comprehend their functionalities and interconnections. The paper delineates the design and execution of the AR system and discusses its potential advantages for education, training, and technical problem-solving in computer science and engineering. Prediction of Grade Point Average (GPA) for Students at Informatics and Computer Engineering Education – Universitas Negeri Jakarta during Online Learning Using Naive Bayes Algorithm

The transition of learning models from face-to-face to online learning has had several impacts on student learning, reflected in their academic achievements. This study aims to determine the performance of the algorithm model using data mining classification techniques in predicting the Semester Grade Point Average (GPA) of Informatics and Computer Engineering Education students, at Universitas Negeri Jakarta during online learning. The prediction employed the Naive Bayes algorithm and the dataset obtained by collecting questionnaires from 2020 and 2021 batches. The total data obtained is 155 records with 13 (thirteen) attributes in the form of 1 (one) ID attribute including NIM, 11 (eleven) regular attributes including gender, college entrance, smartphone facilities, network conditions, preferred online applications, interest in learning, learning attitudes, learning creativity, parental support, study groups, and other activities outside of lectures during online learning, and 1 (one) the label attribute namely the Semester Grade Point Average for students in 3rd and 5th semester. The evaluation of this research involved the confusion matrix and the ROC (Receiver Operating Characteristic) curve. Confusion matrix resulted in an accuracy of 75%, precision of 28.33%, and recall of 26.43%. The ROC curve resulted in an AUC value of 0.679, indicating the category of poor classification. This study also applied the SMOTE data balancing technique, leading to a confusion matrix evaluation with 88.46% accuracy, 57.43% precision, and 52.14% recall. Furthermore, the ROC curve resulted in an AUC value of 0.809 which is categorized as a Good classification.

Effective methods of teaching a foreign language in the modern educational environment

Relevance. In today�s world, global communication and international cooperation are becoming increasingly important, and therefore knowledge of a foreign language is a key factor in overcoming language barriers and effective communication between different cultures, which makes this study relevant.Purpose. The purpose of this study was to reveal and investigate current trends and strategies of teaching foreign languages aimed at maximising learning efficiency.Methodology. The study employed the methods of analysis, systematisation, and generalisation.Results. The study examined various aspects of effective methods of teaching foreign languages in the modern educational environment, such as Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), immersion, content-based learning, suggestion therapy, the use of computer technology in teaching, flipped classroom, and methods of creating Mind Maps. It was found that these methods allow for effective foreign language teaching in the modern educational environment. This study also revealed the specific features of using innovative technologies, virtual reality, and their contribution to improving foreign language acquisition in the educational process, as the modern educational environment requires the use of the latest technologies to improve access to knowledge and individualise learning.Conclusions. As a result of this study, it was possible to investigate the psychological aspect of foreign language learning, focusing on the role of motivation and emotional state for the successful acquisition of language skills. The findings of this study can be used to create, develop, and improve curricula in the field of foreign language teaching.

This is because many educators do not understand how and what steps must be taken in utilizing blogs as a learning medium. The use of blogs as a learning medium can be done at all levels both elementary, junior high, MTs, high school and vocational schools because students in general are accustomed to accessing information through the web. But in this paper, the use of blogs is more focused on junior high school / MTs and high school / vocational / MA education units because the planning of creating a blog is accompanied by steps to prepare online quizzes that will be embedded into the blog. This is done as an effort to prepare students to face UNBK. This study was conducted In this paper, described the steps in the use of blogs as a learning medium. This study begins by studying various literature and the results of similar studies to get an overview of the use of blogs as learning media. After this study, information was obtained that various problems in schools related to learning media can be overcome by utilizing blogs as learning media. In the future, it is hoped that educators can use blogs as a learning medium so that they can attract more interest and attention from students.

Jobsheet Elektronik berbasis Project Based Learning Matakuliah Pemograman berorientasi Objek

One of the practicum courses in the Informatics and Computer Engineering Education Study Program (PTIK) is Object-Oriented Programming. Practical learning still uses printed job sheets, so the practical process is less systematic. The research aims to produce a valid and practical electronic job sheet based on project-based learning (PjBL) in object-oriented programming courses. The research method used is research and development with the four-dimensional development model, namely: define (definition), design (design), develop (development), and disseminated (deployment). The research instruments were a validity sheet and a practicality questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis in the form of percentage validity tests and practicality tests. The validity analysis was carried out by design experts and material experts, while the practicality analysis was completed by 23 students of the PTIK FKIP Bung Hatta University study program. The result of this research is a PjBL-based electronic job sheet, which was declared valid by validators at 86% based on aspects of presentation, writing, programming, content, and language. The practicality results that students fill out on the electronic job sheet meet the practical criteria of 84.6% in terms of usage, benefits, appearance, and language aspects. Therefore, this jobsheet can be used according to student needs as a digital learning resource in practical activities.

Research goal of the paper is the demonstration of computer technology integration in the modern educational process of teaching ecologists in practical classes on assessing the quality of water in water bodies, containing mathematical calculations. The use of modern information computer technologies in education will effectively contribute to the acquisition of a range of knowledge and skills on methods for water quality assessing in the field of water use and protection of water resources. The ability to use ICT will provide the ecologists with the ability to respond quickly to changes in the environment and make effective decisions in environmental management in future production activities.

EVALUATION OF THE INDUSTRIAL PRACTICE PROGRAM USING THE DISCREPANCY EVALUATION MODEL (DEM) IN THE INFORMATICS AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING EDUCATION PROGRAM MAKASSAR STATE UNIVERSITY

This research is an evaluation research which aims to evaluate the implementation of industrial practice programs in the Informatics and Computer Engineering Education Study Program, Department of Informatics and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Makassar State University using the Discrepancy Evaluation Model (DEM) model which consists of five stages, namely the design/definition stage, implementation stage, process stage, product stage and product comparison stage. The subjects in this research were the Industrial Practice Coordinator and 148 students from the class of 2017 who had carried out industrial practice. The students who were used as respondents were taken using a simple random sampling technique. Data collection was taken through questionnaires, interviews and documentation. Data analysis in this research uses descriptive statistics and is presented in the form of tables and histograms. The research results show that: (1) There is a gap in the implementation of industrial practices in the informatics and computer engineering education study program for students class of 2017 in terms of the design/definition stage with an average total gap value of 0.75, which is in the very insignificant category. (2) There is a gap in the implementation of industrial practices in the informatics and computer engineering education study program for 2017 class students in terms of the implementation stage with an average total gap value of 0.48, which is in the very insignificant category. (3) There is a gap in the implementation of industrial practices in the informatics and computer engineering education study program for 2017 class students in terms of the process stage with an average total gap value of 0.69, which is in the very insignificant category. (4) There is a gap in the implementation of industrial practices in the informatics and computer engineering education study program for the 2017 class of students reviewed as a whole with an average total gap value of 0.65, which is in the very insignificant category.

Digitalization in the field of music education: analysis of students – future music teachers and music educators

Introduction. Over the past decade, teacher-musicians have been intensively mastering the didactic functions of the digital space and digital technologies. However, the demonstration of successful practices for the use of digital resources in music education is not an indicator of the widespread use of these practices. The purpose of this article is to analyze the factors influencing the application of musical pedagogical technologies in music education. Materials and methods. 78 respondents took part in the survey and interviews: 4th-5th year students and teachers of Bunin Yelets State University (Russian Federation), teachers of additional education, music directors, music teachers. When studying the respondents' ideas about the factors influencing the use of music and computer technologies in music education, the level of education and teaching experience of music teachers were taken into account. To study the experience and ideas of respondents about the features of the digitalization of music education, a questionnaire was developed, consisting of 3 blocks: "Motivation and competence", "Support", "Material and technical and digital environment". The Kruskal-Wallis test was used as a method of mathematical statistics. Results. The most developed digital competence in the narrow professional sense is among teachers of higher education (63.7% have a high or above average level), students (57.2%), music teachers (32.4%) and teachers of additional education (19%), the least developed – among music directors (7.7%). The motivational potential is highest among teachers of higher education (90.9% have a high and above average level), students (52.4%), music teachers (37.8%) and teachers of additional education (26.6%). Music-computer technologies are used most intensively in the educational process by music teachers with experience from 3 to 20 years (48.4%). Educational and institutional support for the digital transformation of music education is focused mainly on higher education teachers and music teachers. Availability of equipment is assessed at a high level in universities (100%), and at an average level in schools (61.1%). The largest deficit is observed in the field of preschool education (low level – 1 5.4%, level below average – 84.6%). Scientific novelty. The features of the digital transformation of music education are empirically studied in the context of the factors of the level of education and experience of music teachers. Practical significance. The results of the study can be used in the development of programs for higher education disciplines and additional professional training programs for teachers on the use of music -computer technologies in the educational process.

THE USE OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY IN THE EDUCATION OF ASNAF STUDENTS: ISSUES AND TRENDS

Early computer technology in education was largely influenced by the theories of cognitivism and behaviourism, where technology was used to transfer information as if it were a stand-in for the teacher. This shows that students are given information through technology. It is the student's job to learn the information offered by the technology while they study the material provided by the teacher. Studies from across the world frequently discuss how Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) is used. The usage of ICT has been more prevalent over time at all educational levels, from the Asnaf student level to the higher level. The government has allocated such a large amount to cultivate the integration of ICT in preserving education. In connection with that, the primary education level should welcome a noble effort to realize the wishes of this government. In addition, educators should be aware of the latest issues and trends in the use of ICT in primary education to ensure that the handling and use of ICT in the context of primary teaching and learning becomes more effective. The issues and trends discussed in this report are the health and safety of students, infrastructure, competence of educators, the use of ICT as a teaching aid, medium of communication and collaboration with parents. Therefore, the cultivation of the use of ICT in primary education is also discussed and thought to be implemented as further studies.
