Construction of a Competency Evaluation Indicator System for Specialist Nurses in Liver Transplantation: A Delphi Study.

Liver transplantation specialist nurses provide comprehensive and safe care for liver transplant patients, which requires them to have a wide range of competencies. However, at present, there is no comprehensive understanding of the competency of liver transplantation specialist nurses in China, and there is a lack of comprehensive evaluation indicators. The purpose of this study was to construct a competency evaluation indicator system for specialist nurses in liver transplantation. Utilizing the "Iceberg model" of competency, the indicator system for evaluating the competency of liver transplant specialist nurses was developed through literature review, semi-structured interviews, and two rounds of Delphi expert consultation. Twenty nursing and medical experts in liver transplantation were consulted over two rounds. The effective response rates for the expert consultation questionnaires were 90.91% and 100.00% for the first and second rounds, respectively. The coefficient of expert judgment was 0.920, the coefficient of familiarity was 0.880, and the authority coefficient was 0.900. The value range of the coefficient of variation in the second round was 0.00-0.16, both <0.25, indicating that the degree of coordination of expert opinions was high. The final competency evaluation index system for liver transplant specialist nurses encompassed 6 primary indicators, 17 secondary indicators, and 59 tertiary indicators, including professional knowledge, professional skills, social role, self-concept, personality quality, and motivation. The developed competency evaluation indicator system for liver transplant specialist nurses possesses scientific validity and reliability, offering a reference for the training and assessment of liver transplant specialist nurses.

Construction of an index system of core competence assessment for sleep medicine nurse specialists in China: a Delphi study

AimTo construct an evaluation index system for the core competence of nurses in sleep medicine specialties.BackgroundSpecialized nurses in sleep medicine must handle treatment, nursing, and management well, which requires nurses to have excellent competence in knowledge, skills, and ability. However, a competency evaluation system for sleep medicine nurses has not been established in China.MethodsWe used a literature review and an expert meeting to establish a draft indicator system. Subsequently, two rounds of correspondence were conducted with 27 experts from 5 provinces using the Delphi method to solicit their opinions on the core competency evaluation indicators for sleep medicine nurse specialists and to qualitatively evaluate the experts’ scores. The consensus was defined in advance as a mean score of 4.0 or above, with at least 75% agreement among participants. In this way, the final indicator framework was determined.ResultsThe final evaluation indexes of the core competencies for sleep medicine Nurse Specialists included 6 first-level indexes (Practical ability, Theoretical Knowledge, Critical thinking, Communication and coordination, Nursing Management, and Professional Development), 16 s-level indexes, and 64 third-level indexes. The effective response rates of the two expert consultation rounds were 100%. The expert authority coefficients were 0.878 and 0.865 in the first and second rounds of consultation, respectively. In the second round of consultation, the first, second, and third indexes of Kendall’s coefficient of concordance were 0.373, 0.351, and 0.286, respectively (P < 0.05).ConclusionThe core competence evaluation index system for sleep medicine nurses established in this study is scientific and reliable and can provide a theoretical reference for the training, assessment, and evaluation of sleep medicine nurses in the future.Implications for nursing managementThe evaluation index system of sleep medicine nurses’ core competence will provide an effective practical framework for nursing management to evaluate, train, and examine the core competence of sleep medicine nurses.

An Evaluation Index System to Assess Nurse Competency in Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Programs: A Delphi Study

PurposeTo construct an index system to evaluate the competencies of nurses in enhanced recovery after surgery programs and provide a scientific foundation for their training and assessment. MethodsUtilizing a literature review and semi-structured interviews, a preliminary indicator system was constructed. Based on the preliminary indicator system, a Delphi questionnaire was developed and utilized to achieve consensus among experts in two rounds of Delphi studies. The indicators were selected based on a mean importance score greater than 4 and a coefficient of variation less than 0.25. The weights of the indicators were calculated using the Analytic Hierarchy Process. ResultsThe study developed a system to that evaluates the competencies of nurses involved in ERAS programs, offering a reference for their training and evaluation. The final index system includes 7 primary indicators, 20 secondary indicators, and 66 tertiary indicators. The primary indicators consist of competencies in the following components: 1) Direct clinical practice (20 items); 2) Expert coaching and guidance (9 items); 3) Consultation (6 items); 4) Research (7 items); 5) Leadership (11 items); 6) Collaboration (8 items); and 7) Ethical decision-making (5 items). ConclusionsThe developed competency evaluation index system is reliable and can serve as a foundation for the selection, training, and assessment of ERAS nurses.

Constructing a Competency Evaluation Index System for Nursing Positions in a Chronic Kidney Disease Management Centre.

The Chronic Kidney Disease Management Centre (CKDMC) primarily focuses on developing a new system for early screening, standardised diagnosis, treatment, and the long-term follow-up management of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) to enhance CKD prevention and management. Nurses play a pivotal role in the comprehensive management of CKD, contributing considerably to the improvement of patient survival. Consequently, this study constructs an evaluation index system for nursing positions in the CKDMC, delineating the required competencies of nurses and providing a foundation for their targeted training. A literature review and semi-structured interviews were used to develop the competency evaluation index system for nursing positions at the CKDMC. The Delphi method, involving expert correspondence, was employed over two rounds of inquiry with 16 experts, focusing on screening, modifying, and refining the indicators at all levels. The response rates for the first and second rounds of the questionnaire were 100% and 93.8%, respectively, with expert authority coefficients of 0.73 for both rounds. The finalised competency evaluation index system includes 3 primary indicators (theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and professional attitude), 10 secondary indicators, and 44 tertiary indicators. The study successfully established a CKD specialist nurse competency evaluation index system comprising 3 primary, 10 secondary, and 44 tertiary indicators. The consensus among experts was high, rendering the results scientific, objective, and reliable. This system can serve as a basis for the training, selection, and competency evaluation of nursing professionals in CKDMCs.

A core competency evaluation index system for the graded use of clinical nurse specialists: A Delphi study.

To describe a grading system that can be used to evaluate core competency of clinical nurse specialists (CNSs) at different levels. Evaluate core competence of CNSs at different levels reflects the quality of nursing and the development of the nursing profession. This research employed the Delphi method. The STROBE checklist for observational cross-sectional studies was followed to report this research study. This study consisted of two main phases: a literature review and semistructured interviews. Individual semistructured interviews were conducted with 11 healthcare experts and two patients. Two rounds of questionnaire surveys were administered to 21 nursing experts using the Delphi method. The CNSs were classified as primary, intermediate or advanced based on their years of work, professional titles and educational qualifications. The graded competency evaluation system consisted of five first-level indicators (clinical practice, consulting guidance and teaching, scientific research innovation, management and discipline development, and ethical decision-making), 15 second level indicators, and 40 third-level indicators. The authority coefficients (Cr) of the experts were .865 and .901. The Kendall's concordance coefficients of the three-level indicators were .417, .289 and .316 for primary CNSs; .384, .294 and .337 for intermediate CNSs; and .489, .289 and .239 for advanced CNSs. The graded use evaluation system in clinical practice initially involves a comprehensive evaluation of the core abilities of CNSs. This is a tool for cultivating and grading the abilities of specialised nurses that can promote a practical upwards spiral. The evaluation system can promote the scientific management and continuous improvement of CNSs in clinical nursing and can serve as a practical and objective reference for the effective management and development of CNSs. Patients participated in the data collection process, during which they shared their health-seeking experience with our research team.

Construction of a competency evaluation index system for postgraduates of educational technology

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to determine the competency characteristics required for the employment of master’s degree students in educational technology.Design/methodology/approachA combined qualitative and quantitative method was used to consult multiple experts through a modified Delphi method. Competency characteristics were extracted from Chinese recruitment apps, national recruitment websites and university training programs. Ten senior teacher experts who teach educational technology master’s students were consulted through a questionnaire consultation to validate the proposed competency model. The weights of competency characteristics were determined through a combination of the analytic hierarchy process and entropy method.FindingsThe results show that when recruiting educational technology master’s students, more emphasis is placed on operational skills. The majority of companies tend to assess practical abilities rather than theoretical knowledge. Relevant knowledge of educational technology, psychology, computer science and education is considered to be the basic knowledge components of educational technology master’s students, while professional skills are the core skills required for their positions. Therefore, universities need to focus on training, educational technology graduate students in these areas of competence. The study also found that professional qualities (such as physical and mental fitness) and personality traits (interpersonal communication and interaction) receive more attention from companies and are essential competencies for educational technology master’s students.Originality/valueA competence model for educational technology master’s students is proposed, which includes aspects such as knowledge, personal skills/abilities, professional qualities and personality traits. The competence elements included in this model can serve as reference indicators for universities to cultivate the competence of educational technology master’s students, as well as reference points for recruiting units to help them select talents. This represents a new dimension in research related to the employment of educational technology master’s students. The study enriches the research objects and competence dictionary in the field of competence research.

Construction of The Professional Competency Evaluation Index System for Flight Attendant Specialty in Chinese Higher Vocational Education

This study aims to build a comprehensive and scientific Chinese high-vocational airliner professional ability evaluation index system to solve the challenges and needs of the current evaluation system. Based on existing research, this study is based on the understanding and application of the theory of occupational ability evaluation, combined with the DACUM method to conduct initial occupational analysis, use of the Delphi method to integrate the feedback of experts in the field of flight attendants and refer to the successful experience of the relevant flight attendants' vocational capabilities. This study built a framework for the evaluation index system. First, through the optimization and adjustment of the two-round Delphi method, the evaluation index system was clarified, the layer analysis method (AHP) was used for quantitative analysis, the weight of each indicator was finally determined, and a hierarchical structure model was constructed. This study has established a practical evaluation index system for China Airlines' vocational professional capability, covering output services, navigation services, reactions, and other necessary capabilities and qualities, including 4 First-level indicators, 12 second-level indicators, And 51 Third-level indicators. The evaluation indicators constructed by the Institute provide a scientific reference framework for training the professional competency of flight attendants. This study provides substantial guidance for the flight attendant specialty's training content and training scheme in Chinese higher vocational education. Efficiency, reduce training costs, and provide scientific reference for the talent training of the entire flight attendant industry.

Research on a post-competency model of civil aviation flight cadets

ABSTRACT The initial evaluation index system of civil aviation flight cadets’ competency was established using NVivo version 11.0 through qualitative analysis. The competency evaluation index system of civil aviation flight cadets was determined using questionnaire surveys and SPSS version 26.0, and includes four dimensions – core quality, ethical discipline, psychological quality and leadership – and another 23 indexes. The competency model was constructed using AMOS version 23.0 through factor analysis and a structural equation model, and the weight coefficient of each index at all levels was finally determined. The results showed that self-confidence and optimism, attention distribution and situational awareness are the three most important indicators affecting the competency of civil aviation flight cadets. Therefore, the model can provide references for the scientific evaluation of civil aviation flight cadets’ competence and provide support for airlines and colleges to train flight cadets.

Construction of a competency index system for shift nurses in China: A Delphi study.

This study developed a set of competency evaluation indicators for shift work nurses in China. Nurses on night shifts must deal with the treatment, nursing, and management work, which requires excellent competency of night shift nurses in their knowledge, skills, and ability. However, the competency evaluation index system for shift work nurses has not been established yet in China. This study performed a literature review and semi-structured interviews to draft the preliminary competency evaluation indicators for nursing shift work. The Delphi technique was adopted to administer two rounds of questionnaires on 21 nursing experts. The positive coefficients of experts in the two rounds were 100% and 90.48%, respectively, whereas the authority coefficients were 0.974 and 0.971, respectively. The coefficients of variation were 0.00-0.26 and 0.00-0.16, respectively. The competency evaluation index system for shift work nurses consisted of 2 first-level indicators, 16 second-level indicators, and 67 third-level indicators. The competency index system of shift work nurses is scientific and applicable. The competency evaluation index system of shift work nurses would provide an effective practical framework for shift nursing administration to evaluate, train, and assess the competency of shift work nurses.

Development of billing post competency evaluation index system for nurses in China: a Delphi study

AimThis study developed a set of competency evaluation indicators for billing nurses in China.BackgroundIn clinical practice, nurses often take up billing responsibilities that are accompanied by certain risks. However, the competency evaluation index system for billing nurses has not been established in China.MethodsThis study consisted of two main phases of research design: the first phase included a literature review and semi-structured interviews. Individual semi-structured interviews were conducted with 12 nurses in billing departments and 15 nurse managers in related departments. Concepts distilled from the literature review were linked to the results of the semi-structured interviews; this phase produced the first draft of indicators for assessing the professional competence of nurses in billing departments. In the second phase, two rounds of correspondence were conducted with 20 Chinese nursing experts using the Delphi method to test and evaluate the content of the index. The consensus was defined in advance as a mean score of 4.0 or above, with at least 75% agreement among participants. In this way, the final indicator framework was determined.ResultsUsing the iceberg model as a theoretical foundation, the literature review identified four main dimensions and associated themes. The semi-structured interviews confirmed all of the themes from the literature review while generating new themes, both of which were incorporated into the first draft of the index. Then two rounds of the Delphi survey were conducted. The positive coefficients of experts in the two rounds were 100% and 95%, respectively, while the authority coefficients were 0.963 and 0.961, respectively. The coefficients of variation were 0.00–0.33 and 0.05–0.24, respectively. The competency evaluation index system for billing nurses consisted of 4 first-level indicators, 16 s-level indicators, and 53 third-level indicators.ConclusionThe competency evaluation index system for billing nurses, which was developed on the basis of the iceberg model, was scientific and applicable.Implications for nursing managementThe competency assessment index system for billing nurses may provide an effective practical framework for nursing administration to evaluate, train, and assess the competency of billing nurses.

Competency model for international engineering project manager through MADM method: The Chinese context

Due to the Belt and Road Initiative, Chinese engineering contracting companies have ushered in excellent opportunities in the international engineering market. However, for the lack of comprehensive talents, Chinese international engineering projects are currently facing various difficulties. How to select, evaluate, and train highly competitive engineering project managers is of great significance to them. In this paper, an improved Multi-Attribute Decision Making Method (MADM) is used to construct the competency model of international engineering project managers, so as to provide a reliable reference and suggestions for the evaluation process and future development.The current study of project managers’ competency is mainly focused on the local level rather than the international level, and discussed about the competency of general project managers instead of a specific industry of engineering. Also, we noticed the lack of a systematic method of competency evaluation for Chinese international engineering project managers.Aiming at the manager competency of international engineering projects, this paper firstly combines Repertory Grid technique (RepGrid) with the help of Chinese experts abroad and factor analysis to construct a competency evaluation index system, and then combines Decision-making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) and Analytic Network Process (ANP) to explore the interaction between various indicators and determine the weight of each indicator. Finally, through improved Vlse kriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) method the five candidates from a Chinese company in the case are evaluated. The final parts of this article provide a methodological reference and improvement suggestions for the recruitment, performance evaluation, training and career development of international engineering project managers based on the constructed model.

Construction of a competency evaluation index system for front-line nurses during the outbreak of major infectious diseases: A Delphi study.

As the frequency of infectious diseases rises, it's more important than ever to pay attention to the competency level of front-line nurses as the primary force in front-line rescue, which has an impact on the quality of anti-epidemic response. This paper aims to construct the competency evaluation index system for front-line nurses during the outbreak of major infectious diseases. This study combined literature review, critical incident technique interviews, and semi-structured in-depth interviews, as well as two rounds of Delphi expert correspondence, to construct a competence evaluation index system for front-line nurses during the outbreak of major infectious diseases. The study used purposive sampling to select 26 experts from 11 provinces and cities across China to conduct two rounds of Delphi expert consultation, and the indicators were selected based on the mean importance score > 3.5 and the coefficient of variation < 0.25, and the weights of the indicators were calculated by the Analytic Hierarchy Process. The effective recovery rates of the two rounds of correspondence questionnaires were 93.1% and 96%. The competency evaluation index system of front-line nurses during the outbreak of major infectious diseases is scientific, reasonable, and practical, which can provide a scientific basis for nursing managers to accurately understand, describe, analyze, and evaluate the competence level of nursing staff and scientifically implement the allocation of human resources in the future, as well as serve as a content framework for subsequent training programs.

Construction of an index system of core competence assessment for infectious disease specialist nurse in China: a Delphi study

Aim and objectiveThis study was to establish an index system for the evaluation of Chinese infectious disease specialist nurses’ core competence.BackgroundThe index system for the evaluation of infectious disease specialist nurses’ core competence has not been established.DesignA two-round Delphi survey was conducted to seek opinions from experts about the index system for the evaluation of infectious disease specialist nurses’ core competence.MethodsThe study adopted several research methods, including literature retrieval, theoretical analysis and qualitative research. Based on the above method, the draft of core competence evaluation index system of infectious disease specialist nurses was constructed. A Delphi survey was used for the study of 30 infectious disease experts from 8 provinces and cities around China. A modified recommendation for the Conducting and Reporting of Delphi studies (CREDES) was also used to guide this study. A STROBE checklist was used.ResultsThe Core Competence Evaluation Index System of Infectious Disease Nurses is composed of 6 primary indicators, namely, Nursing Abilities for Infectious Diseases, Infection Prevention and Control Abilities, Responsiveness to Infectious Diseases, Professional Development Abilities, Communication and Management Abilities, and Professionalism and Humanistic Accomplishment, 16 secondary indicators and 47 tertiary indicators. The authority coefficient, judgment coefficient and familiarity degree of Delphi experts were 0.923, 0.933 and 0.913 respectively.ConclusionsThe evaluation index system of core competence of diseases specialist nurses is scientific and reliable. It can be reference for future training and assessment of Chinese infectious disease specialist nurses.Relevance to clinical practiceInfectious disease specialist nurses are the main force for infectious disease nursing. Their core competence is related to the quality of infectious disease nursing and treatment. The core competence of the nurses is important for identification of training strategies and can be regarded as reference for nurse assessment and promotion. The construction of the index system is based on the consensus of infectious disease experts, which is not only helpful to standardize the training strategies and selection standards of infectious disease specialist nurses in the future, but also meet the society’s needs in clinical infectious disease nursing.

Research on the Construction of Nurses’ Core Competence Knowledge Network Based on Computer Mind Mapping

The core competence of nurses has become the main basis for evaluating the performance of nursing work, which is of great significance in the improvement of nurses’ personal quality and the development of nursing profession. This study constructed a core competency evaluation index system based on computer mind maps. After two rounds of index modification, four first-level indicators of theoretical knowledge, professional skills, related abilities, and professional traits were determined, which enriched the structure and evaluation of the core competence elements of nurses. Standard research makes the research results more objective. The results show that the constructed index system is scientific, reliable and highly credible. It has certain practical significance for the training, selection and assessment of registered nurses.

Based on the MADM model wine sales manager competency research

In order to solve the problem of the lack of professional wine marketing team, this paper identified the key influencing factors of wine sales managers from the competency point of view, constructed the competency model and evaluation index system of wine sales managers, and introduced the improved multiattribute decision making method (MADM) to evaluate the competency. The results show that there is an interactive relationship between the competency dimensions and indicators of wine sales managers, and the professional knowledge dimension has the greatest influence on the other four dimensions. Based on these findings, suggestions are made for future research.

Research on Quantitative Evaluation of Post Safety Competency of Port Operators

This study took one subsidiary company of a certain domestic port group as a sample. Through job hazard source analysis, job demand analysis, open questionnaire survey, literature review, etc., the characteristics of post safety competency were collected and analyzed, and through statistical analysis of the sample data of the target positions, the reliability and validity analysis of the principal component analysis of the job competency characteristic elements were carried out to optimize and determine the theoretical model and its core characteristic elements, so as to establish the framework of the safety competency characteristic model of the target positions and form the post safety competency evaluation index system. Based on the objective weighting theory analysis method of system dynamics, the entropy weight of each level assessment index was calculated by using the information entropy of key post sample population, and then the weight of each level assessment index was corrected by the entropy value. According to the security requirements of mooring line workers, this paper carried out the theory of multilevel fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, the matrix model of multi-level safety fuzzy evaluation was established, and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation was used for the third-level index, second-level index and first-level index successively, so that the comprehensive evaluation result of each level can be obtained respectively, and port operators’ post safety competency can also be quantitatively evaluated.

Analysis on the Competency of New Professional Farmers and Its Influencing Factors

Using the competent quality onion model, starting from the hierarchical structure, based on the four dimensions of the new professional farmers’ psychological quality, knowledge application, technical skills and management, construct a new professional peasant competency evaluation index system. Based on the survey data of 270 new professional farmers in Pujiang and Chongzhou, Sichuan Province, using factor analysis and optimal scale regression analysis, the author analyzes the competency of the new professional farmers and its influencing factors. The results show that the overall quality of the new professional farmers is not high. The individual differences are obvious. According to the level of competency of the new professional farmers, the psychological quality, knowledge application, technical skills, and management are presented in a hierarchy of internal and external expansion. For those with lower competency, management, technical skills and knowledge application have a significant positive impact and higher importance on their competency; for those with higher competency, psychological quality, knowledge application, technical skills, Management has a significant positive impact and high importance on its competency; therefore, relevant government departments should guide the social responsibility of “revitalizing agriculture”, enhance their psychological quality and strengthen knowledge based on the professional values of new professional farmers. Application and technical skills education and training, building a practical training base focusing on business management, and promoting the upgrading of the quality of new professional farmers.

Building professional competence evaluation index system for "double-qualified" nursing teachers in higher vocational colleges

Objective To construct professional competence evaluation index system of double-qualified nursing teachers in higher vocational colleges. Methods From November 2017 to March 2018, on the basis of literature review and semi-structured interviews, the professional competence evaluation index system for double-qualified teachers was developed through two rounds of expert consultation. Results The experts were highly motivated. The effective recovery rates of the two rounds of consultation questionnaires were 94.4% and 100% respectively. The expert authority coefficient was 0.846 and 0.885, and the coefficient of variation was less than 20%. The final index system included five first-level indicators, 20 second-level indicators and 50 third-level indicators. Conclusions In this study, the experts' positive coefficient and authority are high and the experts' opinions are unanimous. The preliminary construction of the evaluation index of professional competence of double-qualified nursing teachers in higher vocational colleges can provide reference for the selection, training and evaluation of nursing teachers. Integration of clinical competence evaluation index system for master of nursing specialist

Objective Integrate the evaluation indexes of clinical competence of master of nursing specialist. Methods Search the Cochrane Library, Joana Briggs Institute Library, Embase, Web of Science, PubMed, CNKI, VIP and Wanfang database, from the establishment of the database to December 10th,2018, and to collect researches about master of nursing specialist clinical competence evaluation index and then analyzed by content analysis method and thematic analysis. Results A total of 9 articles were included, 26 items and 9 categories including comprehensive practical ability, professional development ability, teaching guidance ability, clinical scientific research ability, organization and management ability, professional accomplishment, professional values, professional knowledge level, relevant knowledge level were selected. 3 dimensions including skill structure, attitude structure and knowledge structure. Conclusion Evaluating the clinical competence of master of nursing specialist we should not only consider their comprehensive practical ability, but pay attention to their professional development, teaching and scientific research, organization and management, professional accomplishment, knowledge and professional values assessment.
