Weighted scoring rules for selecting a compatible committee

This paper addresses the challenge of integrating the compatibility criterion between candidates into the committee selection process under scoring rules. The compatibility between candidates is considered by assigning each committee a vector of weights based on this criterion. The goal is to choose a committee by taking into account both the compatibility between candidates and their performance based on scores. To achieve this, the paper defines a continuous weighted scoring function characterized by two crucial properties: linearity and independence of zero-weight members.

Grand herringbone architecture securing the high thermoelectric performance of GeTe

This work demonstrates a unique two-stage cooling procedure for synthesizing high-performance thermoelectric (TE) GeTe alloys with a maximum zT value of 2.0 (720 K) without assistance of chemical doping. The efficiency breakthrough stems from the grand herringbone structure resulted from the annealing step intentionally inserted near the phase transition temperature Tc of GeTe when cooling. Compared with the samples prepared by conventional methods, the two-stage cooled GeTe processes not only lower carrier concentrations p (4.7–5.3 × 1020 cm−3) but also higher mobility (∼125 cm2 V−1 s−1) that prevent electrical conductivity and TE power factor from declining as p decreases. The twinned domains in the two-stage cooled samples are further analyzed and classified by the compatibility theory. Our calculations show that the twinning structures in the two-stage cooled samples fit well with the compatibility criterion for twin variant selections and are thermodynamically in a stable state. These results not only attest to the efficacy of using the two-stage cooling procedure to manipulate the microstructures of GeTe but also provides a new paradigm for optimizing the performance of GeTe-based TE materials.

Analysis fin field-effect transistor design with high-k insulators

In this article, we integrate a Fin Field Effect Transistor with high-k insulators to investigate the optimal design for chemical field effect transistors in order to give higher inductance (resulting in a higher transmission relationship), improved amplitude, and outcome-based substance. pH sensing was utilised to test the design. We investigated the responsiveness and linearity of silicon dioxide, oxide, and hafnium oxide as pH-sensing electromagnetic materials, as well as their chemical resistance in various acids. The device’s huge component ratio and fin shape allow for high currents and a more dependable planar conducting channel than conventional silicon nanowires. The hafnium oxide Fin Field Effect Transistor architecture delivered the greatest results, with the most linear features of generation and turnover and a broader dynamic range. The chemical stability of hafnium oxide was also the best. As a result, we believe the large component ratio Fin Field Effect Transistors/high-k dielectric combination can provide the optimal process fairness for Field-Effect Transistor-based sensors. The authors propose a novel seamless embedded induction approximation with a quaternary resonator. Only one deleterious modified divergent voltage current conveyor, one of the suggested quaternary synthesisers, uses a Z input, a rectifier, and two crossed capacitive. In the intended unidirectional isolated circuit emulator, just one customised split electrical output feeder with a sole Z electrode, two switches, and the first neutral capacitor are used. The suggested seamless rooted circuit simulation just requires a specific passive constituent compatibility criterion. In addition, the suggested lossless grounded inductor simulator yields a ring filter application. To illustrate the performance of all the circuits, a variety of models using the LTSPICE software, the cadence virtuoso 7nm parameter, and data analyses were performed.

Ab-initio exploration of unique and substantial computational properties of double hydrides Cs2CaTlH6, Cs2SrTlH6, & Cs2BaTlH6, for the computational manufacturing of hydrogen fuel cell: A DFT study

In the present article, the DFT based computational manufacturing for hydrogen fuel cell has been performed because hydrogen storage applications as one of the utmost explored research fields of the modern era. The discovery of novel and potential hydride perovskites materials has developed the current attention for hydrogen fuel cell and related applications. The double hydride perovskite Cs2CaTlH6, Cs2SrTlH6, Cs2BaTlH6 materials are promising for the computational manufacturing of hydrogen fuel cell because calculated tolerance factors for the considered materials are listed as Cs2CaTlH6 (0.90) > Cs2SrTlH6 (0.86) > Cs2BaTlH6 (0.84) illustrating the structure stability and compatibility along with metallic electronic behavior favorable for hydrogen storage devices. The mechanical parameters for the considered materials are also calculated to encounter the Born reliability, stability and compatibility criterion. The Pugh's ratio, poison coefficient and Cauchy pressure calculations confirmed the brittle character favorable for hydrogen fuel cell. Furthermore, gravimetric ratios recommended that the considered materials are suitable and favorable for hydrogen fuel cell as hydrogen fuel can sustain for longer time and contribute extraordinary assistances in transportation handling applications and multiplicity of power. In addition, the considered materials are thermodynamic and vibrational symmetry as no soft (imaginary) mode of phonon in dispersion curve is observed. In short, the considered materials Cs2CaTlH6, Cs2SrTlH6, Cs2BaTlH6 are novel, significant and potential candidates for the hydrogen fuel cell and motivate the experimental researcher to synthesize these materials for experimental manufacturing of hydrogen fuel cell to meet the energy demand of the present day.

Probability estimation method for fatigue crack growth rate based on a ∼ t data from service

PurposeThe study aims to provide a basis for the effective use of safety-related information data and a quantitative assessment way for the occurrence probability of the safety risk such as the fatigue fracture of the key components.Design/methodology/approachThe fatigue crack growth rate is of dispersion, which is often used to accurately describe with probability density. In view of the external dispersion caused by the load, a simple and applicable probability expression of fatigue crack growth rate is adopted based on the fatigue growth theory. Considering the isolation among the pairs of crack length a and crack formation time t (a∼t data) obtained from same kind of structural parts, a statistical analysis approach of t distribution is proposed, which divides the crack length in several segments. Furthermore, according to the compatibility criterion of crack growth, that is, there is statistical development correspondence among a∼t data, the probability model of crack growth rate is established.FindingsThe results show that the crack growth rate in the stable growth stage can be approximately expressed by the crack growth control curve da/dt = Q•a, and the probability density of the crack growth parameter Q represents the external dispersion; t follows two-parameter Weibull distribution in certain a values.Originality/valueThe probability density f(Q) can be estimated by using the probability model of crack growth rate, and a calculation example shows that the estimation method is effective and practical.

Examination of 2021 Turkish Central Exam Science Questions in Terms of Science Process Skills

In the Central Exam of the High School Entrance System (known as LGS), which has been put into practice in Türkiye since 2018, it is aimed to measure the students' ability to transform the information they have learned into skills rather than simply remembering or memorizing them. In this context, the aim of the study is to analyze each of the 2021 central exam science questions prepared by the Ministry of National Education and to evaluate the questions in terms of scientific process skills in the 2018 science curriculum. Document analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods, was used as a method in the research. In this context, the questions of the science subtest of the 2021 central exam were examined by four academicians and six science teachers, who are experts in the field, who have studies on scientific process skills. Within the framework of expert opinions, the compatibility of the questions was evaluated according to the categorical compatibility criterion. According to the findings of the research, it was concluded that the 2021 central exam questions mostly focused on the scientific process skills of “inferring”, “interpreting data” and “defining variables”. According to this result, it was concluded that the central exam science test was not sufficient in terms of covering scientific process skills. In this context, it is thought that studies should be carried out to include more scientific process skills in the central exam questions, which is the transition application from primary education to secondary education, in line with the vision of our country's science curriculum.

Prediction of Road Accident Risk for Vehicle Fleet Based on Statistically Processed Tire Wear Model

The goal of the paper is to investigate the impact of tire tread depth on road accident risk and to develop an accident rate prediction model. The state of 4288 vehicle tires using tread depth gauge was inspected and processed statistically. The tread depth of the most worn tire from each vehicle was registered for further analy-sis. Based on the collected data, a statistical tire tread depth model for an insurance company vehicle fleet had been developed. The conformity of the gamma distribu-tion to the data was verified upon applying the Pearson compatibility criterion. The paper provides the histo-grams of the frequencies of tire tread depths and the theoretical curves of the distribution density. The prob-ability of the accident risk depending on the tire tread depth (adaptive risk index) was calculated applying the formed distributions and risk index dependence on the tire tread depth for the inspected vehicle fleet. Accord-ing to the developed prediction model, an upgrade of the regulation for the minimum allowed tire tread depth by 2 mm (up to 3.6 mm) could reduce road accident risk (caused by poor adhesion to road surface) to 19.3% for the chosen vehicle fleet. Such models are useful for road safety experts, insurance companies and accident cost evaluation specialists by predicting expenses related to insurance events.

From weakly separated collections to matroid subdivisions

We study arrangements of slightly skewed tropical hyperplanes, called blades by A. Ocneanu, on the vertices of a hypersimplex \(\Delta_{k,n}\), and we investigate the resulting induced polytopal subdivisions. We show that placing a blade on a vertex \(e_J\) induces an \(\ell\)-split matroid subdivision of \(\Delta_{k,n}\), where \(\ell\) is the number of cyclic intervals in the \(k\)-element subset \(J\). We prove that a given collection of \(k\)-element subsets is weakly separated, in the sense of the work of Leclerc and Zelevinsky on quasicommuting families of quantum minors, if and only if the arrangement of the blade \(((1,2,\ldots, n))\) on the corresponding vertices of \(\Delta_{k,n}\) induces a matroid (in fact, a positroid) subdivision. In this way we obtain a compatibility criterion for (planar) multi-splits of a hypersimplex, generalizing the rule known for 2-splits. We study in an extended example a matroidal arrangement of six blades on the vertices \(\Delta_{3,7}\). Technique of Assessment of Environmental Damage Caused by Electroplating Production Facilities (by the Example of Chromium Plating Process Lines)

The use of galvanic chromium plating is accompanied by negative consequences related to considerable damage caused to the environment. The authors have developed new chromium plating electrolytes and methods to obtain chromium-based galvanic alloys which allow reducing the environmental harm and decreasing the morbidity rate of occupational diseases among operating personnel. A technique of assessment of environmental damage caused by electroplating production facilities, which is based on the ecological compatibility criterion has been suggested.

Analysis of the twin variant selection in polycrystalline cobalt

The samples of polycrystalline cobalt were strained in tension in the second stage of work hardening in order to activate twinning. The identification of twins and their orientation was analyzed using electron backscatter diffraction. The study of twin variant selection was carried out based on two parameters, namely the Schmid factor (SF) and the geometric compatibility factor (m'). The results indicate that the grains contained the $$\left\{ {10\overline{1}2} \right\}$$ extension twins in most cases while the $$\left\{ {11\overline{2}1} \right\}$$ extension twin mode was present in few cases, as well. In the grains containing only one twin variant, the SF analysis correctly predicted the activated twins in most cases. In the grains with variant pairs in para-position, nearly half of the studied twins had the highest SF of all possible variants, which means that they followed the Schmid law. On the other hand, for twin pairs in meta- or ortho-position, a different behavior was observed. Twins in these configurations were selected rather by the strain compatibility criterion than by the Schmid law, as SF values of the activated twins were significantly lower than those of the twins in para-position. Of these two configurations, the ortho-position one is highly preferred. The combined analysis using SF and m' parameter, predicted the occurrence of specific twin modes and variants only partially. A local analysis considering the effect of neighboring grains should be developed to account for the cases where the two parameters fail to explain the occurrence of particular twins, which seems to be related to the presence of a high fraction of high-angle grain boundaries.

A Data Association Algorithm for SLAM Based on Central Difference Joint Compatibility Criterion and Clustering

SUMMARYA data association algorithm for simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) based on central difference joint compatibility (CDJC) criterion and clustering is proposed to obtain the data association results. Firstly, CDJC criterion is designed to calculate joint Mahalanobis distance. Secondly, ordering points to identify the clustering structure is used to divide all observed features into several groups. Thirdly, CDJC branch and bound method is designed to be performed in each group. The results based on simulation data and benchmark dataset show that the proposed algorithm has low computational complexity and provide accurate association results for SLAM of mobile robot.

О некоторых особенностях задачи разрешимости систем булевых уравнений

The purpose of the article is to present new results on combinatorial characteristics of systems of Boolean equations, on which such properties of systems as compatibility, solvability, number of solutions and a number of others depend. The research method is the reduction of applied problems to combinatorial models with the subsequent application of classical methods of combinatorics: the method of generating functions, the method of coefficients, methods for obtaining asymptotics, etc. Obtained result. In this paper, we obtain results concerning the solvability of systems of Boolean equations. The complexity of the problem of “ transformation” of an incompatible system into a joint one is analyzed. An approach to solving the problem of separating the minimum number of joint subsystems from an incompatible system is described and justified. The problem is reduced to the problem of finding the minimum covering set. The system compatibility criterion is obtained. Using the method of coefficients, formulas for finding and estimating the number of solutions for parameterizing the problem on the right-hand sides of equations are derived. The maximum of this number is also investigated depending on the parameter. Formulas for the number of solutions for two special cases are obtained: with a restriction on the number of equations and on the size of the problem parameters

Hexagon Invasion Fronts Outside the Homoclinic Snaking Region in the Planar Swift--Hohenberg Equation

Stationary fronts connecting the trivial state and a cellular (distorted) hexagonal pattern in the Swift-Hohenberg equation with a quadratic-cubic nonlinearity are known to undergo a process of infinitely many folds as a parameter is varied, known as homoclinic snaking, where new hexagon cells are added to the core, leading to a region of infinitely-many, co-existing localized states. Outside the homoclinic snaking region, the hexagon fronts can invade the trivial state in a bursting fashion. In this paper, we use a far-field core decomposition to set up a numerical path-following routine to trace out the bifurcation diagrams of hexagon fronts for the two main orientations of cellular hexagon pattern with respect to the interface in the bistable region. We find for one orientation that the hexagon fronts can destabilize as the distorted hexagons are stretched in the transverse direction leading to defects occurring in the deposited cellular pattern. We then plot diagrams showing when the selected fronts for the two main orientations, aligned perpendicular to each other, are compatible leading to a hexagon wavenumber selection prediction for hexagon patches on the plane. Finally, we verify the compatibility criterion for hexagon patches in the Swift-Hohenberg equation with a quadratic-cubic nonlinearity and a large non-variational perturbation. The numerical algorithms presented in this paper can be adapted to general reaction-diffusion systems.

Two-Tier Compatibility of Superelastic Bicrystal Micropillar at Grain Boundary.

Both crystallographic compatibility and grain engineering are super critical to the functionality of shape memory alloys, especially at micro- and nanoscales. Here, we report a bicrystal CuAl24Mn9 micropillar engraved at a high-angle grain boundary (GB) that exhibits enhanced reversibility under very demanding driving stress (about 600 MPa) over 10 000 transformation cycles despite its lattice parameters are far from satisfying any crystallographic compatibility conditions. We propose a new compatibility criterion regarding the GB for textured shape memory alloys, which suggests that the formation of GB compatible twin laminates in neighboring textured grains activates an interlock mechanism, which prevents dislocations from slipping across GB.

Incompatibility probability of random quantum measurements.

Incompatibility of quantum measurements is of fundamental importance in quantum mechanics. It is closely related to many nonclassical phenomena such as Bell nonlocality, quantum uncertainty relations, and quantum steering. We study the necessary and sufficient conditions of quantum compatibility for a given collection of n measurements in d-dimensional space. From the compatibility criterion for two-qubit measurements, we compute the incompatibility probability of a pair of independent random measurements. For a pair of unbiased random qubit measurements, we derive that the incompatibility probability is exactly 3/5. Detailed results are also presented in figures for pairs of general qubit measurements.

On the uniqueness of Gibbs measure in the Potts model on a Cayley tree with external field**To the memory of H-O Georgii.

The paper concerns the q-state Potts model (i.e. with spin values in ) on a Cayley tree of degree (i.e. with k + 1 edges emanating from each vertex) in an external (possibly random) field. We construct the so-called splitting Gibbs measures (SGM) using generalized boundary conditions on a sequence of expanding balls, subject to a suitable compatibility criterion. Hence, the problem of existence/uniqueness of SGM is reduced to solvability of the corresponding functional equation on the tree. In particular, we introduce the notion of translation-invariant SGMs and prove a novel criterion of translation invariance. Assuming a ferromagnetic nearest-neighbour spin–spin interaction, we obtain various sufficient conditions for uniqueness. For a model with constant external field, we provide in-depth analysis of uniqueness versus non-uniqueness in the subclass of completely homogeneous SGMs by identifying the phase diagrams on the ‘temperature–field’ plane for different values of the parameters q and k. In a few particular cases (e.g. q = 2 or k = 2), the maximal number of completely homogeneous SGMs in this model is shown to be 2q − 1, and we make a conjecture (supported by computer calculations) that this bound is valid for all and .

Causal compatibility inequalities admitting quantum violations in the triangle structure

It has long been recognized that certain quantum correlations are incompatible with particular assumption about classical causal structure. Given a causal structure of unknown classicality, the presence of such correlations certifies the nonclassical nature of the causal structure in a device-independent fashion. In structures where all parties share a common resource, these nonclassical correlations are also known as nonlocal correlations. Any constraint satisfied by all correlations which are classically compatible with a given causal structure defines a causal compatibility criterion. Such criteria were recently derived for the Triangle structure (E. Wolfe et al., arXiv:1609.00672) in the form of polynomial inequalities, begging the question of whether any of those inequalities admit violation by quantum correlations. Numerical investigation suggests that they do not, and we further conjecture that the set of correlations admitted by the classical Triangle structure is equivalent to the set of correlations admitted by its quantum generalization whenever the three observable variables are binary. Our main contribution in this work, however, is the derivation of new causal compatibility inequalities for the Triangle structure which do admit quantum violation. This provides a robust-to-noise witness of quantum correlations in the Triangle structure. We conclude by considering the possibility of quantum resources potentially qualitatively different from those known previously.

Ehresmann monoids: Adequacy and expansions

It is known that an Ehresmann monoid P(T,Y) may be constructed from a monoid T acting via order-preserving maps on both sides of a semilattice Y with identity, such that the actions satisfy an appropriate compatibility criterion. Our main result shows that if T is cancellative and equidivisible (as is the case for the free monoid X⁎), the monoid P(T,Y) not only is Ehresmann but also satisfies the stronger property of being adequate.Fixing T, Y and the actions, we characterise P(T,Y) as being unique in the sense that it is the initial object in a suitable category of Ehresmann monoids. We also prove that the operator P defines an expansion of Ehresmann monoids.

Prediction of crude oil blends compatibility and blend optimization for increasing heavy oil processing

In the present study, prediction of crude oil blends compatibility and blend optimization for increasing heavy oil processing has been attempted. The crude oil blend compatibility (K model) is determined based on the physical parameter ratios of the crude oils. The physical parameter ratios of the crude oil include at least log (Sulphur)/Carbon Residue, API/Sulphur, and Kinematic Viscosity/API. The K model is developed by coefficients obtained by regression analysis between the ratios of physical parameters of known crude oils and composite compatibility measure determined from multiple compatibility test results of the known crude oils. Nine different tests conducted to estimate crude oils blend compatibility viz. colloidal instability index (CII), colloidal stability index (CSI), Stability Index (SI), Stankiewicz plot (SP), qualitative-qualitative analysis (QQA), Stability Cross Plot (SCP), Heithaus parameter (P value), Oil compatibility model (OCM) and Spot tests. 50 different crude oils have been participated in the development and tuning of the model. The compatibility criterion is proposed as if K ≥ 0; blend is compatible and if K < 0 blend is incompatible. Further, sixteen new crude oils and fourteen blends have been used for validation. Eventually, K model is able to predict composite results of all nine different laboratory based compatibility tests. Further, the predicted blend compatibility along with other blending constraints viz. viscosity, pour point, sulphur content, overall distillation yields and crude oil parcels availability have been considered for blend optimization.There is strong relationship of K model with intensity of spot color, desalting performance and fouling behaviour which further verified through experiments. If K is positive; Spot color is darker, desalting is better and fouling is minimum. But if K is negative; there is lighter Spot color with asphaltene flocculation or precipitation, poor desalting and high fouling is observed. K model accurately predicts the blend composition to minimize operational problems while increasing heavy oil processing.

Perancangan Sistem Terintegrasi pada Aplikasi Siklus Akuntansi dengan Evaluasi Technology Acceptance Model (TAM)

Siklus akuntansi digunakan untuk melihat gambaran keadaan suatu perusahaan dalam pengambilan keputusan, apakah perusahaan tersebut memperoleh keuntungan atau mengalami kerugian. Perkembangan teknologi informasi saat ini berkembang begitu pesat, sehingga perusahaan dituntut untuk terus berinovasi untuk meningkatkan performance perusahaan. Faktor yang menyebabkan keterlambatan informasi, kurang terorganisasinya pengolahan informasi dan data tidak terintegrasi menyebabkan perusahaan kesulitan dalam mengendalikan arus keuangan. Penelitian ini merancang suatu aplikasi siklus akuntansi keuangan menggunakan pendekatan Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) dan Technology Accepteance Model (TAM). ERP dikenal dengan sistem terintegrasinya antar proses bisnis satu dengan yang lain sedangkan model TAM untuk melihat faktor penerimaaan pengguna terhadap perubahan proses bisnis menggunakan aplikasi. Berdasarkan hasil perancangan aplikasi yang telah dikembangkan dengan beberapa kriteria utama diperoleh kriteria kemanfaatan dengan persentase 75%, kriteria kemudahan dengan persentase 76,67%, kriteria usability dengan persentase 77,5%, kriteria graphic design dengan persentase 80%, kriteria compability dengan persentase 60% dan kriteria functionality dengan persentase 72,5%, sehingga dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa aplikasi ini bermanfaat, mudah digunakan, selain itu memudahkan dalam pengendalian dan pengambilan keputusan berdasarkan parameter tersebut.
