Recent concerns about the environment and federal and state legislation have caused both local elected officials and citizens to become concerned about the disposal of solid waste.This case study presents the details as to how a community development specialist and Extension Civil Engineer, working as employees of the University of Missouri Extension Division, assisted local people in bridging the gap between awareness of a public problem and solving of the problem.
