The charm of painting, as a bright pearl in the treasure house of culture, lies in its visual language constructed through colors and lines, which conveys the artist’s unique perception of life and profound emotions. Color, as the most intuitive and expressive language in painting, is not only a simple reproduction of material colors but also a projection of the artist’s inner world. Artistic conception, as a core concept in traditional Chinese painting theory, refers to the emotional atmosphere and spiritual mood embedded in paintings. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the interaction between color and mood in painting art, to analyze the techniques of using color in different painting styles and their influence on the creation of mood, and to provide new perspectives and methods for the creation of paintings.

Study on the Color Design of Elderly Space based on Design Color Science

The article applies the principle of art color science, through the analysis of the physiological and psychological characteristics of the elderly group and the various feelings of the color environment of the housing interior space, and carries out a series of research on the color matching method of the housing interior space of the elderly. A Quantitative Exploration of the Consistency of Visual Rhythms and Social Values in Oil Painting Art

Abstract In the process of oil painting creation, creators present their ideology to the audience through diversified ways of expression so as to produce spiritual resonance with the audience. In this paper, the consistency of social and artistic values of color in oil painting art is studied from three aspects: color attributes, visual rhythm, and color psychological effects. Combined with the HSV color model, the relationship between hue, saturation, and brightness values, which in turn describes color harmony and aesthetics, is used to assess the artistic and social value of oil painting art. Finally, by taking oil paintings of the Literary Review Period style and Classical style as samples, the social and artistic value consistency of oil paintings can be analyzed through color. The results of the study show that when the value of the color attributes of Rembrandt’s oil paintings in the Literary Review Period reaches 240, the saturation value rises sharply, and the hue value likewise falls sharply, forming a strong color focus, making the paintings more toned down and fresh, and alluding to the spirit of resistance that the creator wants to express. The social attributes of purity and solemnity are created when color characteristics are purified, and saturation is smoothed in classical-style oil paintings.

Farba – zlom: akčné umenie cez fotografiu

The paper focuses on the analysis of color in the context of breakthrough moments in photography in order to understand the subjective perspectives of the participants and their perception of these events. The examined sample included four participants who were engaged in amateur documentary, landscape and portrait photography in the Central Slovak region. The analysis of the photographic material focused on the identification of key elements and the context of the environment in breakthrough situations, paying particular attention to the use of color to express emotional and symbolic aspects. The results of the survey show new possibilities of applying color in action art, which contribute to a deeper understanding and interpretation of breakthrough events in an individual's life.

Discussion on the use of traditional art colors in modern visual communication design

Abstract In the face of people’s growing spiritual civilization needs, the application of traditional art colors in modern visual communication design has become a hot spot of attention. In this paper, a model for extracting traditional art color features is constructed to provide a methodology and theory for applying traditional art color in modern visual communication design. In the model construction, the max-min clustering algorithm is proposed to achieve color segmentation, measure the distance between the clustering center and the samples, and improve computing speed. Based on the K-means algorithm, the initial clustering center selection and the number of class clusters are improved, and the color feature extraction method is optimized to improve the accuracy of color extraction. In the performance experiments of the model, the All, Noncc, and Disc parameters of this paper’s color segmentation algorithm are lower than those of other algorithms in color segmentation of different pictures, and the performance is good. The accuracy of the color feature extraction test in different color spaces is close to 100%, the average verification accuracy is as high as 99.8%, and it takes less time. The aesthetic, originality, symbolism, and spirituality evaluation indexes of the poster work “Lead,” designed by combining the model of this paper, have an average score of more than 4, which reaches a good level.

Animation line art colorization based on the optical flow method

AbstractColoring an animation sketch sequence is a challenging task in computer vision since the information contained in line sketches is too sparse, and the colors need to be uniform between continuous frames. Many the existing colorization algorithms can only be applied to one image and can be considered color filling algorithms. Such algorithms only provide a color result that fits within a reasonable range and can not be applied to the coloring of frame sequences. This paper proposes an end‐to‐end two‐stage optical flow colorization network to solve the animation frame sequence colorization problem. The first stage of the network finds the direction of the color pixel flow from the detail change between a given reference frame and the next frame of line artwork and then completes the initial coloring process. The second stage of the network performs color correction and clarifies the output of the first stage. Since our algorithm does not directly colorize the image but finds the path of the color change to colorize it, it ensures a consistent color space for the sequence frames after colorization. We conduct experiments on an animation dataset, and the results show that our algorithm is effective. The code is available at https://github.com/silenye/Colorization.

Feuilleton in the context of journalistic and literary texts

Abstract Feuilleton is a hybrid genre. This genre is important for both literature and journalism because it has literary and journalistic characteristics. There are different opinions about the genre characteristics of feuilleton. So, in studies, it is sometimes characterized only as a journalistic genre. Although some of the studies pay attention to its literary peculiarities, they do not mention its journalistic peculiarities. There are also studies that examine the genre in both literary and journalistic contexts, and such a complex approach is of great importance to the analysis of the genre. Based on the ideas about the hybridity of the genre, our opinion on this matter is that when examining the feuilleton, it is important to thoroughly study it, taking into account the fact that it is a hybrid genre. When conducting research, all features should be studied, no feature should be left out of the study. The artistic colors of feuilleton are distinguished by their realistic and sharp lines. Here, the events are given in all their reality. This is one of the points that form the basis of journalistic works. In this article, the feuilleton genre is examined in the context of literary-journalistic genre; the history of feuilleton, its main features, and its literary and journalistic aspects are studied.

The generalized dice similarity measures for comprehensive evaluation of graphic design effects based on color psychology with t-spherical fuzzy sets

Traditional Chinese art is vast and profound, with various colors having rich meanings. The combination of colors can vividly and intuitively represent various characteristics of things. Fully reflecting the characteristics of traditional Chinese folk art in graphic design can achieve extremely strong expressive effects. In current graphic design, the artistic colors of traditional Chinese folk art have not yet been fully displayed, and there is a lack of understanding of the profound connotation of traditional Chinese art. The graphic design industry has a very broad development space. The comprehensive evaluation of graphic design effects based on color psychology is a classical multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems. In this work, we shall present some novel Dice similarity measures (DSM) of T-spherical fuzzy sets(T-SFSs) and the generalized Dice similarity measures (GDSM) of and indicates that the DSM and asymmetric measures (projection measures) are the special cases of the GDSM in some parameter values. Then, we propose the GDSM-based MAGDM models with T-SFSs. Then, we apply the GDSMs between T-SFSs to MAGDM. Finally, an illustrative example for comprehensive evaluation of graphic design effects based on color psychology is given to demonstrate the efficiency of the GDSMs. The main contributions of this paper are summarized: (1) some novel Dice similarity measures (DSM) and the generalized Dice similarity measures (GDSMs) of T-spherical fuzzy sets(T-SFSs) are proposed; (2) The weighted Dice similarity measures (WDSM) and the weighted generalized Dice similarity measures (WGDSMs) of T-spherical fuzzy sets(T-SFSs) are proposed to solve the MAGDM; (3) an illustrative example for comprehensive evaluation of graphic design effects based on color psychology is given to demonstrate the efficiency of the WGDSM; (4) Some comparative analysis are used to show the effectiveness of the proposed Dice similarity measures.

The article attempts to consider the work of the Moscow artist Maria Pak in the context of coloristic searches in Russian painting based on artists’ work with the white colour. The article opens with a brief outline of the development of the doctrine of colour in the European art of the early modern and modern periods. The main part is devoted to the analysis of the latest exhibition of the easel painting (March 2023) by Associate Professor of the V.I. Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute, Maria Pak, student of I.L. Lubennikov. Particular attention is focused on the “winter” canvases in which the creative task is to paint white on white. The author of the article makes the conclusion that colour preferences are not only determined by social, national and other conditions for artistic culture development, but also closely related to a person’s ability to empathize. The author comes to this conclusion considering the white colour palette of M. Pak’s easel painting in a broad cultural context — appealing to the works of painters as well as to the poetic creations of Russian writers.

Color Processing System of Art Color Based on Fractional Differential Equation

Abstract This paper mainly studies a high-precision correction method for warp knitting seamless images. The color factor conversion method is used to transform the gray level of the center point in the frequency domain. Then this paper proposes an image-denoising method based on an average way to improve image quality. The multichannel scalar channel is solved using the gradient domain method, and the fractional differential equations of two images are given. A structure tensor matrix is constructed to describe the geometric properties of images. The regional contrast of the image is calculated by using the characteristics of adjacent layers of pixels. The fusion of multiple images is based on the limitations of object functionality. This can make the texture structure of artistic color pictures more obvious. The experiment of color restoration shows that this method has a good interpretation effect. The color image processing technique has obtained an excellent restoration effect.

Color as the meaning-forming concept of Zhang Yimou's film "Hero"

The subject of the study is the color meaning in the film of the famous Chinese director Zhang Yimou "Hero", the conceptual understanding of color as the main semantic element of the artistic solution. The object of research is the techniques of visual solutions in cinema. The perception of color in the culture of different peoples differs in certain nuances and depends on many factors, including national traditions and historically established stereotypes. Films by Chinese, Korean, and Japanese filmmakers are interesting from the point of view of color solutions, as they differ in artistic originality and often offer the Russian audience an extraordinary semantic solution of the idea not only at the level of comprehension of the content, but also at the level of a specific color palette. The author similarly examines the color symbolism of Zhang Yimou's film "Hero". The conceptual content of the visual-figurative series, the originality of the coloristic solution of the film is comprehended. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the study of the color symbolism of Zhang Yimou's film "Hero" in the aspect of the correlation between the perception of the coloristic solution of the visual series and the conceptual content of the film. The author comes to the conclusion that despite the ambivalence of perception of a particular color in visual art, the coloristic solution is predetermined by the conceptual content of each episode, so color becomes the leading semantic concept of Zhang Yimou's film "Hero".

Exploring the Scientific Research in Religious Painting Works in Renaissance Period-Taking Durer's Etchings Knight, Death and Devil As an Example

The development of Renaissance painting evolved into the development of humanism and the in-depth study of science and nature under the changes of the times. While getting rid of religious dogma, artists were finally able to look at the world from a rational perspective. Continuous exploration and research not only made Germany open the prelude of modern art, but also stood at the forefront of the historical stage together with other regions of Europe. Among them, the talented artists represented by Durer with the spirit of innovation and exploration raised the original social status of artists to an unprecedented height. The spirit of humanism spread freely in the European continent, and the creation of art nouveau fanaticism, accompanied by the artist's distinct and strong personal artistic color, became the most powerful proof of the attack on dogmatism in painting, and had a profound influence on European modern art. This paper will introduce the transformation of religious art painting during the Renaissance from the scientific direction and it proves that adding scientific innovation to religious painting has brought great influence on later generations.

The most important meaning of color in landscape art as a tool for harmonizing the spatial structure of public spaces and its application pecularities are considered. The outstanding masters’ experience of the past and modernity is analyzed. The compositional principles of the space components interaction using color and light, climate, shape, material, texture, vegetation are considered. The actual methods of applying color in practice from the semantic component to the coloristic solution in the form of contrast and nuance as expressive means are characterized. A study of the psychological and physiological effects of the color palette on the human senses was made. Recommendations are given for creating a comfortable attractive public space through the competent use of color as an art and science. Thus, the correct science-based color harmonies and landscape-visual design of objects are created.

Giving a New Status to a Dyes Collection: A Contribution to the Chromotope Project

Chromotope, the 19th Century Chromatic Turn, is a multidisciplinary ERC research programme that focuses on the “chromatic turn” of the 1860s in France and England, following the invention of the first synthetic dyes. This project, based on a partnership between Sorbonne University (PI: Charlotte Ribeyrol), Oxford University, and the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (Cnam), investigates how this turn led to new ways of thinking about colour in art, literature, history, and science throughout the second half of the 19th century. One of the key aims of this research is to reappraise the role played by the Cnam in the dissemination of knowledge about synthetic dyes, from the creation in 1852 of the first chair in dyeing and printing until the Interwar period, when a collection of dyes including more than 2500 references, obtained from major European firms, was formed. A full inventory based on the description of each container has just been made together with a bibliographical research. Nevertheless, 2% of the containers are unlabeled and the reattribution of their composition is the main goal of our study. In order to set an appropriate analysis protocol to identify these orphan containers, a preliminary work was conducted on a random selection of identified dyes. For this purpose, electrospray ionization mass spectrometry and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy were used on 13 samples from different dye classes. The relevance of this protocol will be discussed for the identification of unknown compounds.

The article deals with the processes of musical thinking in the context of the performer’s interpretative activity. It is the performer’s interpretation that is the intermediary between the author’s recording and the listener. Each interpretation is based on an idea with its semantic, intellectual and emotional nuances. Since the performer’s values, views, motor associations can change throughout the creative work, some levels of interpretation remain unchanged, for example, the parameters of the composer’s competence zone. The types of musical thinking and operational mechanisms that determine the performer’s interpretative activity are responsible for the diversity. The article analyzes the relationship between emotional-figurative and intellectual components of musical thinking. It is emphasized that the art of interpretation is the consequence of the performer’s creative activity. The sign of the development of creative thinking is the ability to carry out the plan of future interpretation at all stages of learning. In creating one’s own interpretation of the content of a musical work, a significant part is determined by the performer’s imagination, perception and personal attitude to the artistic text. In working on the character of a piece, often not clearly defined by the author’s intention, appropriate performance tasks are drawn up, which determine the choice of artistic colors and playing techniques. The process of creating a performer’s interpretation and the desire to reveal the musical image of the work as fully as possible involves a comprehensive study of the composer’s work, identifying traditions and such stages in the process of reading the author’s text as analysis, differentiation and synthesis.
