New design of cutters for coal mining machines

The author designs an up-to-date rock cutter for mining machines and presents a matrix to determine its service life depending on the strength of the rock being broken. The dependence of the cutter service life on the strength of the rock being broken is proved. Advanced designs of rock cutters by the leading companies are described. The author develops an original design of a rock cutter which provides greater cutting surface, increased strength and prolonged service life. Pilot samples of the cutters ready to the test run are presented.

A Cooperative Control Method for Fully Mechanized Mining Machines Based on Fuzzy Logic Theory and Neural Networks

In a fully mechanized mining face, the coordinated control of coal mining machines has a significant promoting effect to perfect the mining environment and improve the efficiency of coal production and has become a research focus all over the world. In this paper, a cooperative control method based on the integration of fuzzy logic theory and neural networks was proposed. The improved Elman neural network (ENN) through a threshold strategy was presented to predict the running parameters of coal mining machines. On the basis of coupling analysis of coal mining machines, the expert knowledge base of scraper conveyor was established based on fuzzy logic theory. Furthermore, the probabilistic neural network (PNN) was applied to evaluate the running status of scraper conveyor, and the cooperative control flow was designed and analyzed. Finally, a simulation example was provided and the comparison results illustrated that the proposed method was feasible and superior to the manual control.

Design and Application of Coal Mine Slope Detection System Based on GPS and PLC

This document explains a system of open pit slope deformation monitoring. After calculating data by software of GPS Solution and the system which bases on the signal of GPS receiver obtain information of every GPS receiver. So it can get GIS information of whole coal mine. If there is any abnormal data, it will report to the police timely, and directly control the running of coal miningmachines through PLC. Compared with the technology before, the system has higher automation integration, higher positioning accuracy, gets more responsive and provides more reliable data. It’s the best choice for long-term spatial structure monitoring and condition assessment.

Application of High-Pressure Water Jet in Mine

The principle of high pressure water jet technology and its unique characteristics and advantages were introduced in this paper, specific applications of the high pressure water jet technology in coal mine production and security aspects were analyzed. It was widely used in coal mine tunneling, preventing and controlling ground pressure and gas outburst, the application of the dedusting fan, cutting the coal mine machine and cleaning and descaling downhole equipment. Finally, the feasibility and safety of the high pressure water jet technology in coal mine was summarized, and the article made prospect for its future application.

The results related to studies of indicators characterizing mechanical properties and features of coal layers’
 geological structure, such as resistance to cutting for coal, layer, solid inclusions and intermediate rocks
 as well as their specific content in the layer have been presented in this paper. Based on physical ideas of
 how the coal layer properties influence the coal-face winning assembly’s final control elements reliability an
 integrated indicator of coal layers’ breaking characteristics assessment, called the indicator of equivalent
 coal layers resistance to cutting Ae has been offered. This indicator’s physical meaning is that it assesses
 the coal layer’s ability to cause average loads affecting breaking final control elements’ degradation
 failures characterized by indicator of coal resistance to cutting, and peak loads affecting sudden failures
 characterized by a value of a generalized indicator of layer heterogeneities’ content and properties.
 Practical meaning of Ae index is that it allows assess coal mining machine’s working conditions not by a set
 of characteristics , but by one characteristic , when performing calculations related to coal-mining machines’
 parameters definition, these machines’ performance, and other technological parameters of wide place and
 coal mine as a whole.

The Analysis and Evaluation of Tendering and Bidding Procurement of Electric Power Equipment Based on Value Engineering

As a main way of electric power equipment procurement, scientific and operational comprehensive assessing index system are essential for successful tendering and bidding. The background and significance of tendering procurement for electric power equipment are introduced in this paper. Aiming at the practice of tendering and bidding procurement, the model of selection of bidding scheme is set up based on value engineering. Empirical analysis of tendering procurement for coal mining machine and atomizing pump proved the feasibility of value engineering analysis in tendering and bidding.

VR-Based Remote Control System Design for Shearer

Aimed at the problems existed in remote monitoring system of shearer, this paper put forward a new remote control strategy of shearer based on virtual reality (VR) to achieve control visualization and automation of equipment in coal face. Firstly, after analysed the control demands of shearer in the automatic coal face, an overall scheme of coal mining machine virtual control system was put forward, its working principle and main composition were introduced also. Secondly, the methods and procedures for VR-based remote control system for shearer using Quest3D, such as virtual control platform, logic control, data transmission and communication were described. Finally, the experiments were carried out to validate and evaluate those technologies. The experimental result show that the VR techniques were the effective and efficient way to carry out remote control of mining equipment and to improve safety and reliability of production in coal mine.

Optimization Design of Planetary Gear Transmission Mechanism of Traction Unit

In order to make the coal mining machine adapt the narrow work space underground, and the height of shearer is decided by the planetary gear transmission mechanism of traction unit. In this paper, the volume of planetary gear transmission mechanism is selected as objective function, and module of gear, teeth of sun gear, width of gear are considered as design variables based on mechanical transmission theory, and the optimized mathematical model of the planetary gear transmission mechanism of traction unit is established. The optimized mathematical model is solved by SQP(sequential quadratic programming) basd on Matlab program, the volume of planetary gear transmission mechanism reduces 20.22%, and the height of shearer decreases 11.3%.

Research on State Monitoring Method of Coal Shearer Vibration

In recent years, coal mining machines intellectualization, automation, digitization and informatization have become the development trend in coal mining industry and have gotten more and more researchers attention. This paper presents the research on the vibration state monitoring method of a coal shearer. It shows the vibration intensity of the traction system is quite low when the machine is running, so the fault probability for this part caused by vibration is very low. The research will be beneficial to understand the vibration characteristics of the coal shearer, and provides methods of structure optimization design and fault diagnosis for a coal shearer.

Power Balance Control for Two Motors Driving Shearer Base on ANFIS

Considering the power balance control in two motors driving shearer, a novel multi-motor power balance control scheme based on ANFIS (Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System) is presented. The scheme avoided to modeling the control model of the coal mining machine and could meet the demand of the control system and prevent individual motor from overloading. In MATLAB, use the filed data to simulate and the simulation verify the proposed scheme is valid．

Dynamic Analysis of Planetary Mechanism for the Cutting Part of Coal Shearer

The transmission load on planetary gear to the cutting part of coal mining machine is bigger, and the force is uneven stress while the gear driving. In order to solve this problem, and puts forward the coal mining machine cutting part planetary transmission gear contact dynamic meshing analysis method. This paper build entity modeling of coal minning machine cutting part transmission gear by established 2d model by CAXA and import PRO/E, and by using ABAQUS/Explicit as the simulation platform, assembly and analysis with dynamic meshing contact, get in gear stress of gear tooth distribution, and provide the basis to the gear shape design.

The Application of Rigid-Flex Coupled Dynamics Simulation in Coal Mining Machine Research and Development

The poor working condition and complex workload of coal mining machine lead to a big risk and a high cost for the test based on physical prototype, while the application of virtual prototype for simulation can acquire a comprehensive assessment of the reliability of product at the design stage. Parameters of working condition were obtained through the coal mine physical and mechanical property testing, and according to the coal-breaking mechanism and numerical analysis theory, the workload calculation and application methods of static and dynamic coal mining machines were analyzed with the examples of plow and shearer. In addition, the load calculation program was written in MATLAB. Based on interface technology, the rigid-flex coupled virtual prototype was established by the adoption of ADAMS, Pro/E and ANSYS, and then the problems in design were found through interference examination and dynamic analysis. The process above provided the basis for optimizing design.

The Dynamic Fault Tree Analysis of Not-Cutting Failure for MG550/1220 Electrical Haulage Shearer

The electrical haulage shearer is an important coal mining machine, and the reliability of cutting unit plays an important role in improving the production efficiency. First of all, the dynamic fault tree of not-cutting failure for the MG550/1220 electrical haulage shearer was established. The dynamic fault tree was analyzed by the binary decision diagram and Markov method in the manner of modular approach. Eventually, the minimum cut sets, the top event unreliability and the importance measures of dynamic fault tree were obtained. Research shows that the improper installation of first shaft bearing, the cage off of the first shaft bearing, the cutting motor damage and the poor quality of lubricating oil are the principal contributor to the not-cutting failure of the shear. Consequently, these parts should be given more attention in the optimization design and routing maintenance.

The Research of Humanization Design for Coal Mine Machine

Based on principles of humanization design, through the Human-Machine interface, Man-machine engineering, mechanical esthetics aspects of Coal Mine Machinery for “person-machine-environment” coordinate design research. This article make " humanization" design idea got fully manifests, change the former design of coal mine machinery simply focusing on product function, which pay more attention to the core content of product design, lay emphasis on the user comfort requirements, ascending users simple and efficient operation mode, satisfy user physiological and psychological needs. And thereby give the humanistic concern, make the products of coal mine machinery to be more comfortable and pleasant, what’s more, improve the added value of the heavy machinery products and showed the development direction of the modern coal mine machinery equipment.

Simulation Study on Load-Sensing Hydraulic Drawing System of Coal Mining Machine

A new hydraulic drawing system of coal mining machine is proposed in this paper. The variable plunger pump adopted in the hydraulic drawing system of coal mining machine is replaced by load-sensing variable displacement pump. The working principle and energy-saving of the new system are introduced. The performance of the new system is obtained by the simulation study using AMESim.

The Method of the Coal Mining Machine Height Control Based on Magneto-Rheological Tactile Reappearance

Through analyzing height character of the coal mining machine, the method of height control of the coal mining machine based on touch sensing technology of magneto-rheological valve is proposed. The controller exports control signal based on extracting current and speed signals of shearer cutting motor and controls touch sensing force feedback based on magneto-rheological valve. The operator can accurate and duly adjust roller height of the coal mining machine. The result of simulations and experiments show that the method is important to avoid the coal mining machine cutting the roof and floor rock and maintain the roof and floor of the formation face, and extend machine life, improve equipment reliability, protect worker safety, improve coal quality. This structure of control method is simple and easy to achieve which has a certain application foreground.

Case Retrieval for Product Configuration Based on NRS and KNN

The accuracy and efficiency of case retrieval decline with individuality and diversity of customer needs in current product configuration design. To cope with this problem, this paper proposes the method of case retrieval based on NRS and KNN. Firstly, setting neighbor value can effectively avoid errors generated by discretization of continuous attributes in classical RS. Secondly, NRS is used for redundant reduction and weight allocation of attributes, and to calculate distance of each sample points by weighted distance. Thirdly, K similar cases are selected according to Euclidean distance with weight, then the case that meet customer needs best is acquired. Lastly, product configuration of coal mining machine is used to illustrate that accuracy and efficiency of the method are superior to the existing methods of case retrieval.

The Study of CAD/CAE Integrated Technology in Network Environment

Based on the concept of parametric design, this paper realizes the parametric modeling and parametric finite element analysis by utilizing UG/OPEN secondary development tool and APDL module of ANSYS software respectively. This paper also achieves data sharing of CAD/CAE through compiling interface program between UG6.0 and ANSYS10.0. In addition, the remote design and analysis platform has been built by using ASP.NET technology, component technology, and database technology. We take piston-piston rod part of coal mining machine’s cutting unit as an example to verify the system. Meanwhile, it proves system can effectively shorten design and analysis cycle time, and reduce workload of designer. Therefore, this software has potential application value in engineering.

Optimization design of drilling string by screw coal miner based on ant colony algorithm

It took that the weight minimum and drive efficiency maximal were as double optimizing target, the optimization model had built the drilling string, and the optimization solution was used of the ant colony algorithm to find in progress. Adopted a two-layer search of the continuous space ant colony algorithm with overlapping or variation global ant search operation strategy and conjugated gradient partial ant search operation strategy. The experiment indicates that the spiral drill weight reduces 16.77% and transports the efficiency enhance 7.05% through the optimization design, the ant colony algorithm application on the spiral drill optimized design has provided the basis for the system research screw coal mine machine.

Virtual design of a new type of hydraulic support

Using virtual reality to design a new type of hydraulic support is discussed. That is how to make use of the virtual design to develop coal mining machine in practice. The advantages of virtual design are studied and the simple virtual reality system is built. The 3D parts and elements of hydraulic support are modeled with parametric design in CAD software, then exported to VR environment, in which the virtual hydraulic support is assembled, operated and tested. With the method, the errors and faults of design can be fined easily, many improvements are made and the new hydraulic support is developed successfully.
