Analysis of the Use of AI (Artificial Intelligence) Based Learning Media in State Vocational High Schools (SMK) in Langkat Regency

The purpose of this study is to determine the extent of the use of AI (Artificial Intelligence) based learning media in Vocational High Schools in Langkat Regency. This is qualitative study with a descriptive approach. There are four State Vocational High Schools (SMK) in Langkat Regency namely SMK Negeri 1 Pematang Jaya, SMK Negeri 1 Serapit, SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Pura, and SMK Negeri 1 Stabat which are the places of research. Totally there are 20 teachers from four schools became informants in this study. In this study, data collection used is in-depth interviews. The findings of the study show the use of AI in the classroom learning process as a teaching medium is still far from effective. Many teachers have not used AI as their learning media. Most teachers already know about AI generally, but the use of AI in education as a learning medium is still not widely known and implemented. Even some teachers still do not know what AI (Artificial Intelligence) actually is. Supporting facilities and infrastructure such as: Unstable or even lost internet connection, limited WIFI, Projectors, PCs that do not support are some of the reasons why AI is still not effective as a learning medium in the classroom. It is hoped that socialization, workshops and training on the use of AI for teachers can be carried out by the central education office and local education offices to increase awareness of technology.

Indonesian Language Learning Based on Ecological Literacy in Improving Students Language Skills

Purpose of the study: This study investigates the integration of a contextual learning model based on ecological literacy in Indonesian language learning within vocational high schools. The aim is to enhance students' language skills and foster their active participation in learning Indonesian through contextual and relevant experiences. Methodology: The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, analyzing classroom learning processes. Data sources include speech, actions, and supporting documents collected during the research. Purposive sampling was used to select teachers and students from class X of Vocational High Schools 1 Sawit Boyolali as participants. Research instruments consisted of observation records, interview lists, and documentation. Method triangulation was applied to ensure validity, incorporating observations, interviews, and analysis of classroom learning processes. Data were analyzed descriptively to present detailed findings and draw conclusions. Main Findings: The findings reveal significant improvements in students’ language skills through ecological literacy-based Indonesian learning. The contextual learning model aligns with students’ vocational expertise, enabling them to engage deeply with language in practical and meaningful contexts. This approach not only enhances reading and comprehension skills but also builds students' confidence in expressing ideas verbally and in writing. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study introduces a novel approach by integrating ecological literacy into Indonesian language education, addressing linguistic and environmental awareness. It provides new insights into how contextual learning tailored to students’ vocational fields can enrich language skills, bridging academic content with real-world applications. This research offers a valuable model for innovative and interdisciplinary education.

A Case Study on Teachers' Strategies for Teaching Reading Comprehension in the Context of Emancipated Curriculum

An efficient classroom learning process is typically necessary to produce good lesson outcomes. The purpose of this study was to look into how teachers use the Merdeka Curriculum to teach reading comprehension. This study used a qualitative method with a case study approach, involving two English teachers who were selected as participants through a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through triangulated with interview, then analyzed thematically. The results showed that the teachers used the following strategies: (1) Think Aloud, (2) Reciprocal Teaching, and (3) SQ3R. This study contributed to provide an overview of the strategies used by teachers to teach reading comprehension and provide a reflection of how English teachers' teaching strategies reflect the implementation of the Emancipated Curriculum. Therefore, teachers need to understand the needs and characteristics of students and relate their teaching strategies to this Emancipated Curriculum.

Analysis of Politeness Strategies Used by the Main Character of “Wonder” Movie

The research was examined an analysis of politeness strategies used by the main character of “Wonder” movie. A qualitative descriptive method was employed to analyze the politeness and expressive illocutionary acts depicted in the movie. The data were collected by following Brown and Levinson's strategies, by watching the movie and analyzing its transcript and utterances, focusing on the politeness strategies was the three main characters in that movie. By finding the main character's utterances, the data found 46 positive politeness, 19 negative politeness, 17 bald on record, and 6 off records. The most apparent from the utterance was a positive politeness strategy of asking for a reason. In conclusion, the result is expected to facilitate the English teacher to take the movie as one of the alternative ways to educate skill of good communication. Educators can adopt the politeness strategies as depicted in the “Wonder” movie as same as the other movie in the teaching and learning process in the real classroom.

Development of Differentiated Interactive Media to Encourage Student’s Number Sense

Number Sense ability is crucial to have as a basis for students' knowledge in solving numeracy problems. The use of learning media with number sense material content is very necessary today. Another problem arises in the variation of students' learning styles that require differentiated media to meet all needs. This study aims to develop differentiated learning media with number sense content. This research is research and development (R&D), where this study uses the ADDIE development model. This research was conducted at MTs Sunan Kalijogo Malang with a total of 36 students as subjects. The data obtained from the validation sheet is divided into qualitative and quantitative data which are analyzed to determine the feasibility of the learning media developed. The results of the media evaluation show an average percentage of 86.3%, with the category "Very Feasible". The question aspect obtained an average percentage of 84.5%, also with the category "Very Feasible". In addition, the results of the practicality questionnaire involving 36 students gave an average practicality percentage of 87.1%, also in the "Very Feasible" category. Thus, seeing the assessment results indicates that the developed learning media is very feasible to be implemented in the classroom learning process as a form of implementing the merdeka curriculum.

Optimalisasi Peran Kepala Madrasah Kunci Revitalisasi Pendidikan Islam

Islamic education is currently facing various challenges that require revitalization measures to improve the quality and effectiveness of the learning process. The role of the head of the madrasa becomes crucial in this revitalization process. This study aims to explore how the head of the madrasa can maximize their role in supporting the renewal and enhancement of Islamic education. The research method used is library research, which involves a review of literature on the role of the head of the madrasa and best practices in educational management. The study shows that the head of the madrasa needs to perform several key roles simultaneously. Firstly, as a leader, they must be able to motivate and inspire all members of the school to achieve the established educational goals. Secondly, in their capacity as an educator, the head of the madrasa should provide the necessary guidance and support to teachers to improve the quality of teaching and the learning process. Thirdly, as a manager, the head of the madrasa must efficiently and effectively manage school resources. Fourthly, in the role of administrator, they must ensure that school administration runs smoothly and complies with applicable regulations. Lastly, as a supervisor, the head of the madrasa needs to monitor, mentor, and improve the classroom learning process and design relevant training programs for teachers.

Facial Expression Detection System for Students in Classroom Learning Process Using YoloV7

The utilization of technology in education is not only about using hardware or software, but also how technology can facilitate effective learning experiences. However, in the learning process there is a problem for teachers to know the level of student attention in the classroom to the material presented, so that the teacher does not know accurately the concentration of students during the learning process until it has an impact on the teacher's learning methods that are not in accordance with the characteristics of students. The purpose of this research is to detect students' facial expressions in the classroom learning process using yolov7. The implementation of several architectural models on CNN consists of several proposed methods, namely data collection, data augmentation, data annotation, split dataset, training, and model evaluation. System testing is done by measuring accuracy and comparing with other methods, namely CNN, CNN MobileNet, CNN EfficientNet-B0 and YoloV7. The test results show the average accuracy of CNN 80%, CNN MobileNet 93%, CNN EfficientNet-B0 31% and YoloV7 96%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the YoloV7 method can detect student concentration effectively and efficiently compared to CNN, CNN MobileNet, and CNN EfficientNet-B0.

STEM Module Validation: Enhancing Physics Knowledge in Prospective Teacher Education

This research aims to develop and evaluate the validity of a STEM-based learning module designed to improve understanding of physics concepts for prospective teachers. This module includes various physics materials that are integrated with the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) approach and is designed to be implemented in the classroom learning process. Module validation was carried out by five experts who assessed four main aspects: accuracy of material, clarity of presentation, integration of STEM approaches, and suitability to learning objectives. The results of the analysis using Aiken's V show that this module has good validity, with the accuracy of the material getting the highest score of 0.85, followed by clarity of presentation and integration of the STEM approach which each got a score of 0.75, and suitability with learning objectives which got a score of 0.7. Based on these results, it can be concluded that this module is ready to be implemented in learning and has the potential to effectively improve prospective teachers' understanding of physics concepts.

Among the many teaching techniques, a few cognitive concepts support the learning process and improve the efficiency of teaching English as a second or foreign language in English language classrooms. Thus, based on the cognitive concepts proposed by H. Douglas Brown, the current study attempts to explore a few teaching principles in English language classrooms. The study of language teaching and learning concepts is expanding, which has shed light on second language acquisition and teaching strategies. Effective learning is a unique function of teaching, which is a universal phenomenon. Teaching results in the completion of the learning process. A checklist is created and the non-participant observation technique is used to collect data. Additionally, an interpretive data analysis technique is employed for the data analysis. Regarding the results, the current study shows that cognitive principles have a major influence on the teaching and learning process in classrooms teaching English as a second or foreign language.

Development of digital modules for English subjects for fourth grade elementary school students

The study aims to develop a digital module for English subjects in elementary schools. The development follows the flow of the ADDIE model. The study subjects were 2 validators and 9 students during the small group trial and 31 during the large group trial. Data collection used a needs identification questionnaire, a validation questionnaire for material experts and design experts, a small group trial questionnaire, and a test. Data were calculated by calculating scores and percentages for validity and student responses, while the effectiveness test used the Wilcoxn and n-gain tests. The study results found that identifying student needs was in the required qualifications. The results of the validity level of the digital module from the assessment of the material expert validator were 89% and the media/design expert 94% (very valid). The results at the level of practicality obtained from the analysis of the small group response questionnaire were 97 (very practical). Furthermore, the level of effectiveness of the digital module was 0.8 (high), with significant test results showing a significant difference before and after learning. It was concluded that the product can be used in the classroom learning process to teach students English.

Correlation Among Teacher ICT Teaching, Teacher Immediacy Behaviors, Teacher–Student Rapport, and Student Engagement in Smart Classroom Teaching

With the constant evolution of information and communication technology (ICT), smart classrooms have profoundly influenced Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) by presenting advanced ICT that markedly improved the effectiveness and quality of teaching and learning. Teacher communication technology teaching and immediacy behaviors are crucial for leading and reforming the teaching and learning process in smart classrooms. Meanwhile, teacher–student rapport and student engagement are also key factors that influence ESD. This study aims to investigate the correlation among teacher ICT teaching, teacher immediacy behaviors, teacher–student rapport and student engagement in smart classroom teaching. We surveyed 1032 Chinese university students using the questionnaire method and analyzed the data using structural equation modeling (SEM). The findings revealed that teacher ICT teaching and immediacy behaviors exerted a noteworthy positive impact on student engagement and teacher–student rapport. Meanwhile, teacher ICT teaching markedly positively correlated with verbal immediacy but markedly negatively correlated with nonverbal immediacy. These findings have practical implications for ESD: in smart classrooms, teacher ICT teaching and their immediacy behaviors serve as vital factors in augmenting teaching quality, encouraging student engagement and fostering harmonious teacher–student rapport. Thus, teachers must harness their ICT teaching skills, flexibly assimilate instant behaviors into the teaching process and interact with students in a richer and more diversified manner to effectively augment teaching quality and promote the overall and sustainable growth of students. Furthermore, this study can inform the expansion of smart classrooms, which in the future should not only offer teachers a convenient teaching and learning environment but also evade ICT that limits teacher nonverbal immediacy behaviors.

Exploring Jesus' Teaching Methods: Effective Strategies for 21st-Century Education

21st-century education is a process of enhancing both the quantity and quality of overall talent or potential, empowering individuals to develop better personal character so that the knowledge gained can be applied in their lives. This paper aims to explore how Jesus' teaching methods can be applied as an effective strategy for 21st-century education. 21st-century education encourages educators to utilize technology as a medium for learning, where the learning process and outcomes focus not only on the results achieved but also on the classroom learning process. This study employs a qualitative research method based on a literature review to analyze the issues the author wishes to investigate. The findings of the research indicate that educators should emulate and adopt Jesus' teaching methods by utilizing technology as a means of delivering education to students, particularly in the field of Christian religious education. This approach can effectively transfer knowledge about Christian teachings, thereby enhancing students' faith and spirituality to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Therefore, educators must strive to educate students to keep up with the developments of the 21st century, fostering critical thinking, creativity, communication skills, all based on the Word of God and the fear of God.

Rancangan gelang pintar untuk siswa tunarungu menggunakan metode Quality Function Deployment

Improving the quality of life for deaf students with special needs, the development of assistive technology is crucial to aid in the classroom learning process. This research aims to design an assistive technology in the form of a Smartband that is beneficial for helping deaf students to interact, understand instructions, and engage in social interactions. The design of this smartband employs the Quality Function Deployment method to ensure that the needs and desires of deaf students are met in the designed device. Based on the analysis of questionnaires from 43 deaf students, eight Customer Requirements were identified. The top priorities for development were voice call detection (14.2%), surrounding hazard alerts (13.99%), and notification capabilities (13.49%). By utilizing the Relationship Matrix in the House of Quality, the Technical Priorities to be developed were determined, namely a voice recognition sensor (19% with a technical importance score of 135), followed by ESP32 and Vibration Motor (16% with a technical importance score of 117). The designed smart bracelet functions well but requires further evaluation, especially in terms of aesthetics, as the current respondents were limited and did not differentiate based on age, which is known to have varying preferences.

Pengaruh Metode Tasmi’ dalam Meningkatkan Minat Menghafal Qur’an bagi Siswa di MTs Mualimin UNIVA Medan

This study aims to explore the influence of the Tasmi’ method on increasing students' interest in memorizing the Qur'an. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research collects data through interviews, observations, and documentation. Interviews were conducted with Qur'an teachers and students participating in the memorization program to gain in-depth insights into the implementation of the Tasmi’ method. Observations were made during the classroom learning process to see the direct application of the Tasmi’ method and the students' responses to it. Additionally, documentation includes records of students' memorization achievements and relevant learning reports. Data were analyzed through three stages: presentation, reduction, and verification. In the presentation stage, the data were organized systematically, while in the reduction stage, irrelevant data were filtered out, and significant data were retained. In the verification stage, the researcher drew conclusions based on the obtained results. The findings indicate that the Tasmi’ method significantly enhances students' interest in memorizing the Qur'an, with students feeling more motivated and engaged in the memorization process due to this approach. It is hoped that these findings will contribute to the development of more effective Qur'an teaching methods.

Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa Melalui Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning pada Mata Pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Katolik Materi Aku Pribadi Unik Kelas IV SDN 2 Nainggolan Tahun Pelajaran 2024/2025

The low learning outcomes of students can be attributed to various issues that often arise during the classroom learning process. In Catholic Religious Education, the low performance is indicated by the pre-test scores that did not meet the minimum passing criteria (KKM), with only 47.27% of students, or 11 students, failing to achieve the expected scores. The teaching method used by the teacher was predominantly lecture-based, which resulted in low student participation, with the majority of students being passive and only a small number actively engaging in the learning activities. Based on these issues, this research poses the question: "Can the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model improve the learning outcomes of students in Catholic Religious Education and Character Education in Grade IV at SDN 2 Nainggolan for the 2023/2024 academic year?" The aim of this study is to provide a clear understanding of how the PBL model can enhance student learning outcomes in the subject. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) aimed at determining the improvement in student learning outcomes through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The researcher acted as the teacher, while the Grade IV teacher served as a collaborative partner and observer. The learning process was conducted over two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through the observation of student and teacher activities, student learning outcome tests, and documentation. In the first cycle, student learning outcomes showed improvement, with 8 students meeting the minimum passing criteria (KKM) and the highest score being 90. The test was continued in the second cycle with some minor adjustments, and the results showed further improvement, with 11 students meeting the KKM and the highest score remaining 90. Based on the findings of this research, it can be concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model can improve student learning outcomes in Catholic Religious Education for Grade IV. The mastery of student learning outcomes in the first cycle reached 72.72% according to the post-test results, and increased to 86.36% in the second cycle, indicating an improvement of 13.64%. Therefore, it can be concluded that if the PBL model is applied effectively and consistently, it will improve student learning outcomes.

Remodeling Classroom Management Through Technology Driven Curriculum In Nigeria: A Sociological Analysis

Remodeling the classroom management through technology driven curriculum will assist teachers to the global requirement to replace traditional teaching methods with a technology-based teaching and learning tools and facilities. In Nigeria, Remodeling the classroom management through technology driven curriculum is considered as one of the main elements in transforming the country to the future development. The conceptual clarification utilizes the remodeling of the classroom management, technology, and education as the tools affecting remodeling classroom management through technology driven curriculum in Nigeria. The theoretical perspectives that is used for the paper is Humanist choice theory by William Glasser in the year 1998. The concept of remodeling classroom management and relevance of technology driven curriculum in Nigeria is the basic or fundamental impact to the success of this paper. The Ministry of Education, through the latest Education Blue print (2013-2025), insights the importance of technology-based teaching and learning into the schools’ national curriculum. This study of the paper aims to analyze teachers’ perceptions on effectiveness of upgrading the classroom management through technology driven curriculum to support teaching and learning process in classroom. The results indicate that remodeling the classroom through technology driven curriculum has a great effectiveness for both teachers and the students. Findings indicate that teachers’ well-equipped preparation with technology driven curriculum tools and facilities is one the main factors in success of technology-based in remodeling the classroom management for sound teaching and learning. It was also found that professional development training programs for teachers also played a key role in enhancing students’ quality learning. For the future studies, there is a need for consideration of other aspects of remodeling classroom especially from management point of view in regard to strategic planning and policy making through technology driven curriculum.

DEVELOPMENT OF NATURAL SCIENCE INSTRUMENTS ON THE TOPICS OF GREEN PLANT ASSESSMENT

Evaluation instruments play an essential role in measuring the achievement of student knowledge in the learning process in classroom. Teachers can prepare evaluation instruments by making observations first to students during learning . This study aimed to develop an evaluation instrument with the help of Quizizz application for natural science subjects on green plant topics. The method used in this study is Research and development with a 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Evaluation instruments developed from material validation tests obtained a value of 106. The validity of the class teacher's material is 93. And media expert validation of 90. The final score of evaluation instrument validation is 77.06% and is included in the high category based on the validation test of material experts and media experts; the evaluation instrument with Quizizz application is worthy and relevant of being used as an evaluation instrument to increase student interest in doing the questions.<p> </p>

Peningkatan Minat Belajar Siswa Melalui Media Belajar Berbasis Teknologi Gamifikasi Pada Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Kelas 9 di SMP Negeri 13 Surabaya

The research conducted in this proposal aims to determine and analyze the use of gamification technology media in increasing the learning interest of students in class 9 D SMPN 13 Surabaya. This research is designed with qualitative methods and uses data collection techniques in the form of filling out student interest observation sheets in the learning process. The results of filling out student observations are expected to be used as evaluation material in the classroom learning process. Thus, it is hoped that the results of this study can be useful as a reference for educators to develop teaching media that will be used in the learning process in the classroom. Various rapidly developing technologies must of course be utilized properly, so that later the educational process in the classroom is not left behind by existing technological developments. Nowadays, there are many websites or applications that can help the learning process in the classroom. The idea of student-centered education should make educators no longer use the lecture method when explaining in the learning process. This is what makes educators clever in utilizing various learning resources and media including technology. In the meaning of KBBI technology is a scientific method that can be used as a means to provide various things needed for the continuity and comfort of human life to make it more practical.

Internalization Values of Anti-Bullying in Moral Education from Prophet’s Hadith

Moral education by instilling anti-bullying values is one solution to solve the problem of anti-bullying in the madrasah environment. This study aims to examine the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad SAW that teach anti-bullying values as well as strategies and methods of internalizing anti-bullying values based on the Prophet's hadith in moral education in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. This research is a literature review research. Data were taken from relevant literature sources such as books, scientific journals, and related articles. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative. The results showed that in the Islamic perspective, bullying includes various forms of harming others such as insulting, physically and psychologically hurting, and slander. Anti-bullying values in the hadith of Prophet Muhammad SAW are the prohibition of degrading behavior, protection from violence, respect for diversity, the obligation to defend the oppressed, and maintenance of the honor of fellow Muslims. Teachers can use expository learning, problem-based learning, project-based learning, and role-playing learning methods in the classroom learning process

Utilizing Video Game Clips to Teach Principles of Economics

Recent data from across the globe suggest that more than 80% of both men and women play video games, and Gen Z spends 11 hours per week on average playing in 2022 (Westcott et al., 2022). Given the popularity of games as a global trend, we present teaching guides based on video games that could diversify the learning process and increase engagement in an economics classroom. Each guide includes videos and a brief description of the game to encourage educators who are unfamiliar with gaming to use games as a way to illustrate economic concepts. The paper provides an opportunity for educators to help students understand foundation-level economic concepts in an engaging way that resonates with students’ interests.
