In recent years, how to use advanced science and technology to archive and protect Chinese classical gardens has always been a hot topic in academic circles. This paper explores the application of terrestrial 3D laser scanning (TLS) in classical gardens. The Biyun Temple Shuiquanyuan was selected as the research object, analyzed the garden scan the content and difficulty, the ground 3D laser scanning technology was used to arrange the site under the premise of ensuring data accuracy and scanning efficiency, and the complete garden data was obtained. And carries on the point cloud registration, segmentation, encapsulation and texture mapping. The 2D line drawing and 3D point cloud model of the research area are finally obtained. The technology of rapid, accurate, no contact to obtain the data characteristics of classical garden plays a positive role in cultural heritage protection work.
