ANALISIS KARAKTER GEMAR MEMBACA TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN LITERASI DIGITAL SISWA SMP

The idea for this research is the low reading interest in digital literacy skills (DLS) among students whose houses have a very weak signal for Internet access. Students' DLS can be improved through increased library usage and technological advancements that are presently evolving due to the availability of several platforms for social media (learning sites). This research aims to analyze reading interest character on the students’ DLS during an odd semester at State Senior High School 2 of Bilar Hilir (SMPN 2 Bilah Hilir). This research included the students from classes VII-1, VII-5, VIII-2, VIII-6, IX-3 and IX-4 by employing a quantitative descriptive method of investigation. The data collection was done through questionnaire by approaching descriptive statistics analysis. The research results show that students' reading interest must be improved by increasing their DLS, which are quite effective and may effectively counter technological advancements. The results of the questionnaire indicate that the students' reading interest is still low, however the results of the questionnaire demonstrate that students' DLS give good results.

Stimulating Constructive and Destructive Leadership Behaviours through the Emperor of Lanka and Villain of Ramayana

Purpose: All are kings. But some follow rules and some break rules. The question is why? Ram and Krishna act for the benefit of others, the larger group. Ravan and Duryodhan are more interested in their glory even if their respective kingdoms are destroyed. On a parallel track, it constantly distinguishes Durga, the symbol of social status, from Shakti, the inner power - physical and mental prowess. On exemplifying positive and negative leadership through Ram, Ravan, Krishna and Duryodhan. The journey towards leadership is a journey from ‘me’ to ‘we’. Thus, linking mythological themes & management with the present-day materialistic world is not easy. The present research links and contextualizes the concepts of virtue & vice leadership behaviours and personality types through the king of Lanka to business and management with the ancient Indian texts. Objectives: The researchers have set the following primary objectives and the current study investigates 2 broad research questions: (1) To evaluate Ramayan's character Ravan stimulates constructive and destructive leadership behaviours. (2) To identify the personality type (MBTI) of the Anti-Hero, Ravana. Design/Methodology/Approach: The study is based on both secondary & primary evidence. Hypotheses are stated for the various variables selected and analyzed to prove or disprove the same without any errors. Findings/Result: There were stimulating virtue and vice leadership behaviours through the emperor of Lanka and the villain of Ramayana. Also, there was a personality type (MBTI) of Anti-Hero, Ravana to business and management with the ancient Indian texts. Research Limitations/Implications: In the present research an attempt is made by the researchers to understand the research gap in the area hence a conceptual idea is proposed and the research goes further to advance significance to discover the degree of relationship to evaluate Ramayan character Ravan stimulates behaviours showing high moral standards (constructive leadership behaviours ) & bad behaviours (destructive leadership behaviours) & to identify personality type (MBTI) of Anti-Hero, Ravana. Originality/New Knowledge/Interpretation/Value: Many of the earlier studies have proved that, Indian mythology has a deeper meaning than basic good and evil. There is an intriguing narrative at every turn, if one is willing to go deep. Ravana portrayed a villain, but it's crucial to understand why he chose to do so. Actually, the goal was to balance the forces of good and evil. It is understandable why he is still revered in some areas of the world. Ravana is often looked down upon as an evil character in the Ramayana. But nobody can be really classified as completely black or white. Like every other mortal, Ravana also had shades of grey. But none of us can ever deny the fact that he was the most dexterous character in the epic as well. Hence, this study helps in concluding that, a comparative look at virtue and vice leadership behaviours and personality type makes Ravana the most interesting Ramayana character ever and offers insight into business and management with the ancient Indian texts. Childhood and youth of a hero: the adventures of Heracles between literature and film sources

The essay aims to highlight the peculiarities of Heracles’ childhood and youth, through a comparison between what is reported in some ancient literary sources – Pseudo-Apollodorus, Diodorus and Theocritus – and the ways in which the events are described in the film Hercules - The Legend Begins (2014) and in the cartoon Hercules produced by Disney (1997). Taking an interdisciplinary perspective, this paper emphasizes the importance of audiovisuals from an educational point of view, in conveying to viewers, through the free reworking of the myth, those values that, since Antiquity, the hero represents. In particular, this essay focuses on some crucial events of his childhood and youth, such as his birth, the duplicity of his name, the killing of snakes, the teachers who educated him, the theme of the separation from his home, and the transition to adulthood. Heracles, indeed, is a very interesting character even today, also from a historical-educational perspective as is illustrated in this essay through the dialogue between the sources.

Designing of zwitterionic proline hydrogel electrolytes for anti-freezing supercapacitors

Hydrogel electrolytes containing a large amount of freezable water tend to freeze at subzero temperatures, which catastrophically reduces their ionic conductivity and thus limits their practical applications. In this work, we propose a new type anti-freezing hydrogel electrolyte based on an additive of zwitterionic proline, which can maintain high ionic conductivities of hydrogel electrolytes at subzero temperatures. The unique zwitterionic structure leads to several interesting characters like strong hydration, strong ionic interactions and low self-associations, which is proved to be the keys for the high performance of hydrogel electrolytes under low temperatures. As a result, the proline hydrogel electrolytes show a high ionic conductivity of 4.2 mS cm−1 even at −40 °C. The activated carbon electrode of supercapacitors based on proline hydrogel electrolytes delivers high specific capacitances of 145.8 (at 0.5 A g−1) and 116.1 F g−1 (at 0.5 A g−1) at 25 and −30 °C, respectively. Furthermore, the specific capacitance still shows a high retention of 71% after 12,000 charge/discharge cycles at −30 °C, confirming the good low-temperature adaptability. Such anti-freezing electrolytes with high ionic conductivity will open up a new avenue for anti-freezing energy storage devices, not limited to supercapacitors.

Production components of agroindustrial interest of sugarcane varieties under subsurface drip irrigation in semiarid conditions

The identification of promising commercial varieties for irrigated crops in semiarid conditions based on characters of interest to sugarcane agro-industries is important, considering the search for high sugarcane yields to obtain sustainable crops. Thus, the objective of this work was to evaluate production components of agroindustrial interest of different sugarcane varieties grown under subsurface drip irrigation in the Semiarid region of Brazil, during two crop cycles. A randomized block experimental design was used, in an 8×2 factorial arrangement (varieties and cycles) with three replications. The sugarcane juice quality, sugar yield, and culm yield were evaluated in each cycle. Gross sugar percentage, sugarcane culm yield, juice apparent sucrose content, and juice purity were affected by the crop cycles. Soluble solids content presented strong significant correlation with most variables of agroindustrial interest. The path coefficient analysis showed that juice apparent sucrose content was the explanatory character with higher direct effect on soluble solids and that this variable presented high indirect effects on most explanatory variables. The sugarcane varieties RB72454 and Q124 are recommended for production managements with drip irrigation under semiarid conditions. Soluble solids content can be used as an alternative for direct selection of varieties with higher sugar yields in different cycles.

Abstract The development of the film industry, especially Hollywood, which is currently a trendsetter, has introduced new prominent fictional characters. This is supported by technological advancements in graphics and computer visual effects. Animals are living creatures that are often used as references for the development of fictional characters, icons, and characterizations, not only in terms of physical appearance but also their characteristics. For example, this has brought about a new trend in the enhanced depiction of fable stories and also provides an opportunity to introduce unique wildlife from a particular region. It not only introduces local animals specific to an area but also enables the introduction of local culture. Indonesia itself has many regions that possess distinctive animals and cultural values with artistic significance. One example is the rhinoceros, which is an endemic animal of the western part of the island of Java (Banten), the buffalo from Sumatra (Padang), and the cockatoo from Sumatra (Lampung). At the end of this study, it will encompass the design of interesting characters inspired by the unique animals of Indonesia's regions, depicted as martial arts characters with distinct regional appearances. Women in Indian and Greek Epics: Some Reflections

In the two famous Indian epics the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, there are five admirable women - Ahalya, Draupadi, Kunti, Tara and Mandodari. These are five special women with remarkable power, wisdom, dedication, and sacrifice which are honoured across periods of the Indian civilisation. Similarly, in Greek mythology also, there are important powerful women characters having exceptional capacity and power. They are Helen, Hecuba, Medea and Thetis. They have not only portrayed their sexuality and motherhood but also demonstrated their power, virtues, kindness, grace and capacity to withstand crisis. In this paper, we take a look at the five women from the famous Hindu epics, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata and attempt a comparison of some aspects of their lives with important women characters from the legendary Greek epics, Iliad and Odyssey. In the study of these interesting, dynamic and complex women characters we have found that the customs and norms of those societies dominated by patriarchy have immensely affected their lives. However, it will be grossly unfair to treat them as women only. Their lives were affected by brave, power hungry warriors on one hand but on the other hand all these women have emerged as political entities involved in the intricacies of war from behind and not merely as the observers of incidents of wars. These characters have enjoyed much more power than one may perceive from these epics. This vindicates that it is the power that mattered more than gender notwithstanding the fact that patriarchy remained as an influential force in the society.

Analisis Perubahan Desain Karakter dalam GIM SERI DREADOUT Pendekatan Manga Matrix

Game is an interactive media that can create a space of imagination. DreadOut is a digitale game that adapts Indonesian culture as an entertainment aspect in the game, By bringing Indonesian ghosts. In its development, visual appearance is important in building an interesting game, one of which is the characters. There are differences in kuntilanak and tuyul characters in Dreaout 1 and Dreadout 2. This research dissects the differences between these characters using a manga matrix approach. It is hoped that this research will be a reference as a development of visual creation of characters in the game, in order to develop interesting characters according to the intended target market.

Antibodies as Models and Tools to Decipher Candida albicans Pathogenic Development: Review about a Unique Monoclonal Antibody Reacting with Immunomodulatory Adhesins.

Candidiasis, caused mainly by Candida albicans, a natural commensal of the human digestive tract and vagina, is the most common opportunistic fungal infection at the mucosal and systemic levels. Its high morbi-mortality rates have led to considerable research to identify the molecular mechanisms associated with the switch to pathogenic development and to diagnose this process as accurately as possible. Since the 1980s, the advent of monoclonal antibody (mAb) technology has led to significant progress in both interrelated fields. This linear review, intended to be didactic, was prompted by considering how, over several decades, a single mAb designated 5B2 contributed to the elucidation of the molecular mechanisms of pathogenesis based on β-1,2-linked oligomannoside expression in Candida species. These contributions starting from the structural identification of the minimal epitope as a di-mannoside from the β-1,2 series consisted then in the demonstration that it was shared by a large number of cell wall proteins differently anchored in the cell wall and the discovery of a cell wall glycoplipid shed by the yeast in contact of host cells, the phospholipomannan. Cytological analysis revealed an overall highly complex epitope expression at the cell surface concerning all growth phases and a patchy distribution resulting from the merging of cytoplasmic vesicles to plasmalema and further secretion through cell wall channels. On the host side, the mAb 5B2 led to identification of Galectin-3 as the human receptor dedicated to β-mannosides and signal transduction pathways leading to cytokine secretion directing host immune responses. Clinical applications concerned in vivo imaging of Candida infectious foci, direct examination of clinical samples and detection of circulating serum antigens that complement the Platelia Ag test for an increased sensitivity of diagnosis. Finally, the most interesting character of mAb 5B2 is probably its ability to reveal C. albicans pathogenic behaviour in reacting specifically with vaginal secretions from women infected versus colonized by this species as well as to display higher reactivity with strains isolated in pathogenic circumstances or even linked to an unfavourable prognosis for systemic candidiasis. Together with a detailed referenced description of these studies, the review provides a complementary reading frame by listing the wide range of technologies involving mAb 5B2 over time, evidencing a practical robustness and versatility unique so far in the Candida field. Finally, the basic and clinical perspectives opened up by these studies are briefly discussed with regard to prospects for future applications of mAb 5B2 in current research challenges.

The dynamics of external water conduction in the dryland moss Syntrichia.

Syntrichia relies on external water conduction for photosynthesis, survival, and reproduction, a condition referred to as ectohydry. Capillarity spaces are abundant in Syntrichia, but the link between function and morphology is complex. The aim of this study was to provide a better understanding of species-specific morphological traits underlying the functions of water conduction and storage. We used an environmental scanning electron microscope and confocal microscopy for observing anatomical characters in the leaves of Syntrichia species. We also measured hydration/dehydration curves to understand the rate of conduction and dehydration by experimental approaches. Syntrichia is an ectohydric moss that can externally transport and store water from the base of the stem using capillary action. We propose a new framework to study ectohydric capabilities, which incorporates three morphological scales and the timing of going from completely dehydrated to fully hydrated. Characters of interest in this model include cell anatomy (papillae development, hyaline basal cells and laminar cells), architecture of the stem (concavity and orientation) and whole clump characteristics (density of stems). We report significant variations in the speed of conduction, water holding capacity and hydration associated with each species studied (11 in total). All Syntrichia species are capable of external water conduction and storage, but the relevant traits differ among species. These results help to understand potential evolutionary and ecological trade-offs among speed of water conduction, water holding capacity, ontogeny, and differing habitat requirements. An integrative view of ectohydry in Syntrichia contributes to understanding the water relationships of mosses.

The arena that Re is involved in, featuring various interesting characters is reviewed in more depth. Problems in tracing the personality of the characters in Maman Suherman's novel Re. The theory used is Carl Gustav Jung's Psychoanalysis. Data was collected using a literature study method with reading, listening, and note-taking techniques. Data analysis was carried out by interpretive descriptive method. The results are based on research, the incident utilizes the background as the main strength with detailed specifications. The whole is not fully interwoven in the relationship between elements. The psychological character of Re displays the archetype of the audience, the great mother, and the hero which is manifested in her psychic causality. The character of Re shows the personality of the collective unconscious (persona, shadow, anima and animus), Herman reflects the persona of an intelligent student, and Mami Lani is a representation of the persona of a blind heart.

The cultural artistry of people always impresses with interesting characters and plots. This following article aims to present the transformations of women into animals and of animals into women in Chinese and Bulgarian folklore, starting from ancient myths and the deities who created the humans, passing through the traditional transformations into dragons or hydras, as well as into other creatures such as nine-tailed foxes, hedgehogs, bears, goats, and birds.

ViCTer: A semi-supervised video character tracker

Video character tracking problem refers to tracking certain characters of interest in the video and returning the appearing time slots for those characters. Solutions to this problem can be applied in various video-analysis-related areas, such as movie analysis and automatic video clipping. However, there are very few researches investigating this problem and there are no existing relevant benchmark datasets available. In this paper, we design a novel model11The code for the project is available on https://github.com/zilinghan/victer. to solve this problem by combining a semi-supervised face recognition network and a multi-human tracker. For the face recognition network, we propose a semi-supervised learning method to fully leverage the unlabeled images in the video, thus reducing the required number of labeled face images. Triplet loss is also used during the training to better distinguish among inter-class samples. However, a single face recognition network is insufficient for video character tracking since people do not always show their frontal faces, or sometimes their faces are blocked by some obstacles. Therefore, a multi-human tracker is integrated into the model to address those problems. Additionally, we collect a dataset for the video character tracking problem, Character Face in Video, which can support various experiments for evaluating video character tracker performance. Experiments show that the proposed semi-supervised face recognition model can achieve more than 98.5% recognition accuracy, and our video character tracker can track in near-real-time and achieve 70% ∼ 80% average intersection-over-union tracking accuracy on the dataset.

Character Design of Eren Yeager in Animated Attack on Titan Series from Season 1-4

Attack on Titan is a popular animated series from japan that was adapted from a comic book with the same title created by Hajime Isayama, this animated series is set in a fictional world where humans live surrounded by a huge wall that protects them from giant man-eating creatures called titans. The main character in this series is Eren Yeager, a young man who can be a “titan shifter”. which is an ability to transform into a titan creature. One of the factors that influence the popularity of Attack on Titan is the visualization of the main character Eren Yeager, and his character in each season, making him an interesting and strong character to be discussed. This study was conducted to describe the development of the main character design from season 1 to season 4. The method is used to visually describe the character and personality built by the author. it’s hoped that this research can be used as reference material in making a fictional character design for future needs.

ANALYSIS OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS IN STORYLINE THE FILM “NANTI KITA CERITA TENTANG HARI INI”

The purpose of this study is to Analyze of The Main characters in Storyline The Film "Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini" directed by Angga Dwimas Sasongko. Before collecting data, first watched movies and read novels. This research method is descriptive qualitative. This film was adapted from novel by Marcella Febritrisia Putri. The first Indonesian to reach 2 million viewers in 2020. Film has won various awards. Storyline of this film tells the story of a family trying to maintain understanding and harmony. Conflicts in family are caused by in the past secrets that have not been revealed. This 121-minute film tells the story of a family of five, parents and three children. In my opinion interesting characters in this film are Narendra as father and Awan as youngest child. Narendra's character has endured traumatic feelings for years, making him seem overly possessive and indulgent to Awan, but on the other hand, Awan's character is actually disrespectful to her parents. Therefore, I conducted an analysis of two main characters. The approach is a literary study that has a big role for readers in accepting, experiencing and understanding literary works.

Biodegradable polymeric nanoparticles: The novel carrier for controlled release drug delivery system

In the recent decades, polymers are widely used as biomaterials due to their favourable properties such as good biocompatibility, easy design and preparation, structural varieties and interesting bio-mimetic character. The use of biodegradable polymeric nanoparticles (NPs) for controlled drug delivery has shown significant therapeutic potential. Concurrently, targeted delivery technologies are becoming increasingly important as a scientific area of investigation. The current review entails an in-depth discussion of biodegradable polymeric nanoparticles with respect to types, formulation aspects as well as site-specific drug targeting using various ligands modifying the surface of polymeric nanoparticles with special insights to the field of oncology. Ultimately the goal of polymeric nanoparticle drug delivery is the emergence of a nano-fabricated therapeutic drug release device with the capacity to enough hold and release of various active agents on demand.

This is not because there are no clever or interesting lady detective characters, but rather because the concept of greatness is socially constructed and, like coolness, depends on public acclaim and perception. We explore the mechanics of genre formation, arguing that the very structure of cozy mysteries precludes female greatness. To create a “great” character, the author cannot just endow her with certain attributes; she must actively work to overcome her audience’s tendency to import structures of oppression into the story, and she must wrestle against the conventions of the genre. In doing so, however, authors risk setting their stories in a wholly different genre.

Gauged quintessence

Despite its dominance in the present universe's energy budget, dark energy is the least understood component in the universe. Although there is a popular model for the dynamical dark energy, the quintessence scalar, the investigation is limited because of its highly elusive character. We present a model where the quintessence is gauged by an Abelian gauge symmetry. The quintessence is promoted to be a complex scalar whose real part is the dark energy field while the imaginary part is the longitudinal component of a new gauge boson. It brings interesting characters to dark energy physics. We study the general features of the model, including how the quintessence behavior is affected and how the solicited dark energy properties constrain its gauge interaction. We also note that while the uncoupled quintessence models are suffered greatly from the Hubble tension, it can be alleviated if the quintessence is under the gauge symmetry.
