Abstract

A synthesis of the life course and the work of a very interesting character in the history of the Canary Islands is offered, especially during the first third of the s. XIX: Antonio José Ruiz de Padrón, a Gomeran priest, enlightened, who would defend in the Cortes of Cádiz some approaches, generaelly of a liberal nature, highlighting smong them his opinion on the Inquisition.
