A new mesoscopic calculation model of chloride ion erosion in recycled coarse aggregate concrete (RAC): Characteristic fractal dimension of pore structure and service life prediction

This research investigates the influence of water-cement ratio and recycled aggregate content on the chlorine erosion resistance of RAC by conducting a combination of experimental and theoretical analysis. In addition, a mathematical equation is developed to represent the chloride ion transport mechanism in RAC, taking into account fluid mechanics, energy conservation, and pore structure evolution characteristics. Furthermore, mathematical analysis and modeling are used to forecast the life of the chloride ion erosion process. The results show that both the recycled coarse aggregate replacement rate and the water-cement ratio adversely affect the chloride erosion resistance of RAC. The chloride diffusion coefficient model based on pore structure characteristic parameters exhibits high prediction accuracy. This model helps increase the use of recycled aggregates and fosters the growth of the circular economy in the construction industry sector by offering a theoretical foundation for evaluating and maintaining the durability of RAC.

Research on coal matrix pore structure evolution and adsorption behavior characteristics under different thermal stimulation

The technique of thermal stimulation for coalbed methane extraction is considered an important approach for increasing coalbed methane production capacity in the future. This study focuses on the impact of the thermal evolution of pore structure in coal on gas adsorption characteristics. The low-pressure CO2 and N2 physical adsorption data were analyzed using classical thermodynamic methods and density functional theory. The results showed a decrease in pore volume and an increase in average pore size. The fractal dimensions obtained from the Frenkel-Halsey-Hill and Sierpinski fractal models indicate that the micro-scale spatial structure of coal becomes simpler, and the surface becomes smoother. The high-pressure volumetric method was employed to determine the gas adsorption parameters of the coal, and a comparison was made between the calculated gas adsorption parameters based on the micro-pore structure parameters of the coal samples. It was found that the variation pattern of micro-pores in the coal samples correlated highly with the methane adsorption capacity. The decrease in adsorption capacity increases the proportion of free-phase methane, which helps enhance the early-stage methane extraction rate. Improving gas migration pathways avoids the limitation imposed by diffusion in the later stages of coalbed methane extraction.

China's lithium supply chains: Network evolution and resilience assessment

As the world's largest consumer of lithium resources, China faces a substantial demand-supply gap and challenges in securing its lithium supply chain. This study aims to examine the evolution of China's lithium supply chain networks from 2017 to 2021 and employs an attack model to reveal network resilience. A lithium supply chain network is constructed across the entire industry, offering a novel perspective for examining the resilience of lithium resource trade networks. Simulated disturbances are executed via attack models, analysing not only trade nodes but also specific trade relationships while differentiating between import and export subnetworks, thus providing an in-depth examination of structural evolution and resilience characteristics. Our findings highlight the rapid decrease in total lithium throughflows and stable network efficiency from 2017 to 2021. A decline is also observed regarding the network's resilience. Among the different forms of simulated disruptions, node attacks exert the most substantial impact on resilience. The effects of node and edge attacks are notably less severe in China's export subnetwork than in its import subnetwork. In the import subnetwork, the influence of Asian and European nodes diminishes, while South America and Oceania show an increasing influence trend. For exports, the Asian node remains influential, followed by Europe, with Eastern Europe surpassing Western Europe. Upon closer examination of specific products' trade impacts under edge attacks, the results indicate that most trade relationships have minimal impacts on network resilience. There is a persistent increase in the influence of key upstream products in the import sector. Similarly, the influence of key downstream products in the export sector is also on the rise, underscoring China's global leadership in both mid- and downstream products and illustrating its expanding production capacity. The structural changes of complex networks and simultaneous targeted attacks provide new insights for enhancing resilience given the different disruptions of nodes and edges, and outline important policy implications for China's lithium supply security.

Influence of basalt fiber on pore structure, mechanical performance and damage evolution of cemented tailings backfill

To study the influence of the addition of basalt fibers on the mechanical properties, pore structure, and damage evolution characteristics of the cemented tailings backfill (CTB), the uniaxial compression tests, nuclear magnetic resonance tests and scanning electron microscopy analysis were conducted on the CTB with four different content and lengths of basalt fibers. Test results show the following. (1) An increase in the content of basalt fibers will lead to an increase in the proportion of micropores and secondary pores in the CTB, while a decrease in the proportion of macropores. The influence of basalt fiber length on pore structure is not as significant as the content. (2) With the increase of basalt fiber content and length, the peak stress and peak strain of the CTB increase, but the elastic modulus decreases. Basalt fiber can significantly improve the ductility and bearing time of the CTB, with a length of 12 mm and a content of 1.5 % having the best effect. The length of basalt fibers affects macroscopic mechanics more than content. (3) The CTB without fiber have fewer cracks and faster crack propagation speed, while the CTB with fiber have more cracks and slower crack propagation speed. Basalt fibers mainly play a bridging role between hydration products, delaying the failure process of the sample. (4) A damage constitutive model was constructed. The rationality and reliability of the model were verified, and the damage evolution law of CTB was analyzed. The content and length of basalt fibers have a positive impact on damage evolution.

Unlocking the Origins of Highly Reversible Lithium Storage and Stable Cycling in a Spinel High‐Entropy Oxide Anode for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

AbstractDeveloping high‐capacity conversion‐type anodes with superior durability substituting conventional graphite anodes is urgently desired to improve the energy density of lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs). However, fatal capacity decay during cycling of the conversion‐type anodes, which is primarily due to their inevitable structural degradation and continuous solid‐electrolyte interphase reformation induced by drastic volume change, has highly restricted their commercialization. And, the interrelated effects of phase transformation, structural evolution, and electrochemical characteristics of the conversion‐type anodes during cycling remain poorly understood. Herein, the findings on the fabrication and understanding of a previously unexplored entropy‐stabilized spinel oxide, (Co0.2Mn0.2V0.2Fe0.2Zn0.2)3O4 as a promising conversion anode for LIBs, exhibiting not only moderate volume change character but also highly reversible capacities of ≈900 mAh g−1 for 500 cycles at 0.2 A g−1 and ≈500 mAh g−1 for 2000 cycles at 3 A g−1, respectively, are reported. Evidenced by in situ transmission electron microscopy coupled with theoretical calculations, its underlying mechanism underpinning highly reversible Li storage is explicitly revealed, which originates from reversible phase transformation and domain reconstruction during cycling. Moreover, the origin of small volume change is also clearly clarified. This work provides renewed mechanistic insights into designing high‐capacity and durable conversion‐type electrode materials for high‐performance LIBs.

Functional Graphdiyne for Emerging Applications: Recent Advances and Future Challenges

AbstractGraphdiyne (GDY) is regarded as an exceptional candidate to meet the growing demand in many fields due to its rich chemical bonds, highly π‐conjugated structure, uniformly distributed pores, large surface area, and high inhomogeneity of charge distribution. The extensive research efforts bring about a rapid expansion of GDY with a variety of functionalities, which significantly enhance performance including photocatalysis, energy, biomedicine, etc. In this review, the synthetic strategies (in situ and ex situ approaches) that are designed to rationally functionalize GDY, including optimizing their nanostructures by surface/interface engineering with dopants or functional groups (heteroatoms/small molecules/macromolecules), and building up hierarchical GDY‐based heterostructures are highlighted. Theoretical calculations on the structural evolution and electronic characteristics after the functionalization of GDY are briefly discussed. With elaborate functionalization and rational structure engineering, functional GDY applied in a variety of emerging applications (e.g., hydrogen evolution reaction, CO2 reduction reaction, nitrogen reduction reaction, energy storage and conversion, nanophotonics, sensors, biomedical applications, etc.) are comprehensively discussed. Finally, challenges and prospects concerning the future development of GDY‐based nanoarchitectures are also presented.

Effect of particle gradation on pore structure and seepage law of solution in weathered crust elution-deposited rare earth ores

Both CT and Avizo software were used to explore the effect of particle gradation on the evolution characteristics of pore structure and seepage paths in weathered crust elution-deposited rare earth ores during leaching. The results showed that the pore areas in four kinds of ore samples before leaching were mainly concentrated in 104–107 μm2, whose pore quantities accounted for 96.89%, 94.94%, 90.48%, and 89.45%, respectively, while the corresponding pore volume only accounted for 30.74%, 14.55%, 7.58%, and 2.84% of the total pore volume. With the decrease of fractal dimension, the average pore throat length increased, but pore throat quantities, the average pore throat radius and coordination number decreased. Compared with that before leaching, the change degree of pore structure during leaching increased with the fractal dimension decreasing. For example, the reduction rate of the average coordination number of ore samples was 14.36%, 21.30%, 28.00%, and 32.90%, respectively. Seepage simulation results indicated that seepage paths were uniformly distributed before leaching while the streamline density and seepage velocity increased with the fractal dimension decreasing. Besides, the phenomenon of the streamline interruption gradually reduced during leaching while preferential seepage got more obvious with the decrease of the fractal dimension.

Structural characterization of char during co-gasification from torrefied sludge and Yangchangwan bituminous coal

The present study aims to investigate the physico-chemical structural evolution characteristics of char structure of CO2 atmosphere torrefaction pretreated sludge with Yangchangwan bituminous coal (YC) during co-gasification. The co-gasification reactivity of torrefied sludge and YC was measured using a thermogravimetric analyzer. The co-gasification reactivity of torrefied sludge with YC was thoroughly explored in depth by in situ heating stage microscope coupled with traditional characterization means of char sample (Scanning electron microscope, nitrogen adsorption analyzer, laser Raman spectroscopy). The results show that the gasification reaction rate of sludge treated under CO2 atmosphere and coal blended char was better than other char samples at 1100–1200 °C. The torrefied sludge under CO2 atmosphere promoted its thermal decomposition to the maximum extent, so that it eventually was transformed into a large number of small broken particles. The specific surface area and ID1/IG ratio of blended char of torrefied sludge under CO2 atmosphere and YC were 1.70 and 1.07 times higher than that of YC, respectively. The in situ technique revealed that YC char with the addition of torrefied sludge undergo gasification by shrinking core modes and the presence of obvious ash melting flow phenomenon. It was more obvious than that of YC.

A refined numerical simulation approach to assess the neutron irradiation effect on the mechanical behavior of wurtzite GaN

Neutron irradiation often produces distinct types of damage or defects in gallium nitride (GaN) materials, which could alter the mechanical properties of GaN. This work develops a numerical approach utilizing molecular dynamics (MD) simulation to capture the structural changes and defect evolution characteristics of wurtzite GaN under long-term low-dose neutron irradiation, and to evaluate the variations in fundamental mechanical properties. By comparing different types of potential functions available for describing GaN materials, the Tersoff/ZBL potential energy function is found to be more suitable for describing the irradiation effects of GaN. A method of using multiple recoil atoms to trigger cascade collision together with a three-stage irradiation process description is proposed to achieve an effective distribution of irradiation defects, as well as to improve computational efficiency. To simulate the irradiation damage accumulation due to successive cascade collisions, it is applicable to apply an iterative process for the simulation model. Using these approaches, uniaxial tension simulations for irradiated wurtzite GaN are performed to analyze the variations in its fundamental mechanical properties along [1 0 1¯ 0] crystalline direction. The results indicate that low-dose irradiation tends to decrease the Young's modulus and tensile strength of wurtzite GaN material, and could alter its deformation mechanisms to some extent.

3D Xanthium-like of Ni-Co-Zn ternary alloys as superhydrophobic coatings toward porous Ti surface for its anti-icing performances

Super-hydrophobic surface has attracted great interests as functional coatings in spacecraft wings and wind-turbine fans. With the ever-increasing demands of durability and low cost, the scopes for industrial application of hydrophobic coatings have been restricted. Herein we proposed an innovative and simple approach for electroplating Ni0.12Co0.88-xZnx (x = 0–0.36) coatings toward porous Ti substrate. Featuring as 3D Xanthium-like spherical textures, the Ni-Co-Zn ternary alloy coatings were achieved by optimizing the Zn2+ concentration and complexing agent (Na3Cit) in bath. Results validated that its crystal size was refined into ∼300 nm, leading into pinning growth through hole-hole linked porous channel of Ti substrate to increase interfacial strength. Based on the wettability tests, it depicted the water-droplet contact angle (WCA) value of 126.3° attached with sliding angle (SA) of 17.5° for coating samples after being exposed in air for 14 days. Further studies of different ageing treatments on micro structural evolution and super-hydrophobic characteristics were well explored. Through artificial ageing at 200 °C, its attained super-hydrophobic surfaces shorted than 7 days, showing the maximal WCA value up to 153.2° and SA ≤ 7.8° for Ni0.12Co0.88-xZnx (x = 0.24) samples, which was mainly contributed to the self-assembly of multi-tentacles ZnO dendrites. Meanwhile the anti-icing behaviors were compared and featured as peach blossom at −10 °C for all the samples. The icing-delay time of water droplets on coating samples was >1425 s, which was 20 times longer than that of porous Ti substrate. Similarly, it was higher than 90 % for its self-cleaning efficiency based on salt pollutants. Besides the mechanical durability of tested samples against the abrasion-resistant tests and water impact-resistance tests were studied. Results implied that good durability was achieved for Ni-Co-Zn superhydrophobic coatings, but sanded surfaces within a serious decrease of WCA was obtained after a continuous testing for 30 min by abrasion-resistant tests because of the partial destruction of Xanthium-like spherical textures. With the respect to reconstructing of multi-tentacles ZnO dendrites onto the Ni-Co-Zn coatings in air, it was the bio-inspired strategies for self-healing super hydrophobic metal coatings used in warship surfaces, etc.

Exsolution-enhanced reverse water-gas shift chemical looping activity of Sr2FeMo0.6Ni0.4O6-δ double perovskite

This study investigates the structural evolution and redox characteristics of the double perovskite Sr2FeMo0.6Ni0.4O6-δ (SFMN) during hydrogen (H2) and carbon dioxide (CO2) redox cycles and explores the material performance in the Reverse Water-Gas Shift Chemical Looping (RWGS-CL) reaction. In-situ and ex-situ X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HRTEM) studies reveal that H2 reduction at temperatures above 800 °C leads to the exsolution of bimetallic Ni-Fe alloy particles and the formation of a Ruddlesden-Popper (RP) phase. A core–shell structure with Ni-Fe core and a perovskite oxide shell is formed with subsequent redox cycles, and the resulting material exhibits better performance and high stability in the RWGS-CL process. Thermogravimetric (TGA) and Temperature Programmed Reduction (TPR) and Oxidation (TPO) analyses show that the optimal reduction and oxidation temperatures for maximizing the CO yield are around 850 °C and 750 °C respectively, and that the cycled material is able to work steadily under isothermal conditions at 850 °C.

Study on Overburden Fracture and Structural Distribution Evolution Characteristics of Coal Seam Mining in Deep Large Mining Height Working Face

Coal mining has gradually entered the deep mining era, and large-height mining is an important way to mine thick coal seams in the deep. The high coal wall will inevitably make the distribution of the overburden structure in the coal mining face more complicated, and the large buried depth will also cause more intense mine pressure. The study of the distribution and evolution of the overburden structure and stress in the mining site can provide theoretical guidance for safe mining. In this work, a physical similarity modeling test was carried out based on the physical–mechanical parameters of overburden rock and similarity theory, taking the mining of a deep, large-height working face in Pingdingshan Coal Mine as an example. The results show that the deformation and breakage of overburden rock in deep, large-height workings occurring during mining is persistent and not only in a short period of time. The breakage form of overburden can be categorized into two types based on the deformation characteristics: (I) non-separation-induced type, and (II) separation-induced type. Among these, the breakage induced by separation can be divided into two categories: (i) dominated by self-weight stress, and (ii) affected by shear cracks. It also summarizes the form of the overburden structure and the structural morphology of the stope. The overburden structure shows a “combined cantilever beam structure-articulated rock-slab structure-non-articulated rock-slab structure”. Among these, the periodic breakage of the upper cantilever beam evolved articulated and non-articulated rock-slab structure in the lower part, which weakened the supporting effect of the lower gangue and further aggravated the breakage of the upper overburden rock. The shape of the main structure of the stope mainly depends on the fracture line from the advancing coal wall to the upper overburden: from a rectangular shape without collapse to a trapezoidal shape at the initial stage of collapse, to a trapezoidal shape with multiple steps after the main roof collapse.

Pore structure evolution and radon exhalation characteristics of sandstone after loading and unloading

Load damage during rock failure is usually accompanied by changes in radon exhalation characteristics. Radon gas is an excellent tracer with great significance in studying the relationship between rock damage and radon exhalation for rock instability prediction. Using nuclear magnetic resonance and radon measurement, the characteristics of radon exhalation and its influence mechanism in sandstone under various stresses are investigated in this technical note. The results show that with the increase of stress level of sandstone, the radon exhalation rate shows a trend of decreasing first and then increasing. And the radon exhalation rate is the fastest after the sandstone is loaded to its peak intensity, which is 10.31 Bq/m2·h, 2.35 times higher than that in the initial state. The change of pore structure inside sandstone has a strong correlation with the radon exhalation rate, and the pore volume of micropores (<0.1 μm) plays an important role in the radon exhalation ability, which is closely related to the fractal dimension of micropore structure in sandstone after loading. The results of the study can serve as significant guidelines for predicting earthquakes and rock instability.

Deformation critical threshold estimation of Xiaowan ultrahigh arch dam with time-varying grey model

The structural behavior of the Xiaowan ultrahigh arch dam is primarily influenced by external loads and time-varying characteristics of dam concrete and foundation rock mass during long-term operation. According to overload testing with a geological model and the measured time series of installed perpendicular lines, the space and time evolution characteristics of the arch dam structure were analyzed, and its mechanical performance was evaluated. Subsequently, the deformation centroid of the deflective curve was suggested to indicate the magnitude and unique distribution rules for a typical dam section using the measured deformation values at multi-monitoring points. The ellipse equations of the critical ellipsoid for the centroid were derived from the historical measured time series. Hydrostatic and seasonal components were extracted from the measured deformation values with a traditional statistical model, and residuals were adopted as a grey component. A time-varying grey model was developed to accurately predict the evolution of the deformation behavior of the ultrahigh arch dam during future operation. In the developed model, constant coefficients were modified so as to be time-dependent functions, and the prediction accuracy was significantly improved through introduction of a forgetting factor. Finally, the critical threshold was estimated, and predicted ellipsoids were derived for the Xiaowan arch dam. The findings of this study can provide technical support for safety evaluation of the actual operation of ultrahigh arch dams and help to provide early warning of abnormal changes.

Analysis of wave converging phenomena inside the shocked two-dimensional cylindrical water column

Due to the curvature of the droplet surface, the propagation of transmitted waves is complex inside a droplet impacted by an incident shock wave. The wave converging phenomena inside a two-dimensional water column impacted by different curved shock waves are explored in this paper by means of theoretical ray analysis and high-resolution numerical simulations. An analytical method describing the wave structure evolution characteristics inside the shocked water column is established. Hence, the morphological pattern and focus locations of these waves are theoretically obtained. The analysis shows that both the first and the second reflected waves focus inside the water column regardless of the convergent, planar or divergent nature of the incident shock wave shape. The dimensionless distances from focusing points to the column centre are derived as ${\kappa }/{( 3\kappa -{{M}_{0}}{{f}_{s}} )}$ for the former and ${\kappa }/{( 5\kappa -{{M}_{0}}{{f}_{s}})}$ for the latter, respectively. Here, $\kappa$ , $M_0$ and $f_s$ represent the sound-speed ratio of the two phases, the incident shock wave strength and a function characterising the shock wave shape effect, respectively. Moreover, highly negative pressures due to the first reflected wave focusing and significant pressure oscillations due to the second reflected wave focusing are numerically tracked for three shapes of the incident shock. The effects of the incident shock wave intensity on the pressure variations at focus points are further studied. As the incident shock wave intensity increases, stronger negative pressure and higher pressure oscillation are induced. The converged incident shock wave can enhance the above phenomena, but the diverged one can weaken them.

Comparison of Change in Nanopore Structure of Oil Shale after Anhydrous and Sub/Supercritical Water Pyrolysis

Oil shale is an important part of unconventional resources, which is considered as an important replacement for traditional oil resources. At present, the underground in-situ conversion method of oil shale is mainly aimed at shallow reservoirs, and it is difficult to apply to in-situ exploitation of oil shale with a depth of more than 1000m. In view of the portability, fracturing and extraction characteristics of high-pressure sub/supercritical water, it has become the research direction of in-situ mining of deep oil shale. The evolution of pore structure of oil shale is the basis for exploring the production mechanism of sub/supercritical water pyrolysis of oil and gas, which has important theoretical and scientific significance for improving the development and utilization of in-situ injection of sub/supercritical water in deep oil shale. Therefore, in this paper, the oil shale of Jijuntun Formation of Paleogene in Fushun Basin is taken as the research object. The pyrolysis experiments of oil shale in three ways, namely, water-free (electric heating), subcritical water and supercritical water, are carried out by means of high temperature and high-pressure source rock pyrolysis simulation device. The evolution characteristics of nano-pore structure under different pyrolysis methods are studied by XRD and low temperature nitrogen adsorption technology. The results show that, compared with anhydrous pyrolysis at the same temperature, the pore size of 3-30 nm of oil shale increases significantly after sub/supercritical water pyrolysis. The phenomenon of kaolinite illite fossilization increases, and the overall weak acidic environment is more conducive to the transformation of illite into Illite and montmorillonite mixed layer minerals, easier to increase the pore space in oil shale, and conducive to the migration and accumulation of produced oil and gas.

Measurement of fracture development evolution of coal samples under acid-alkaline by three-dimensional reconstruction and AE time-frequency characteristic analysis

One of the key factors affecting the stability of coal pillar dam at the boundary of underground reservoir is pH value of mining water resources. So, the comprehensive characterization of micro-pore structure and fracture evolution characteristics of coal pillar dam samples with different pH values were studied and measued in the thesis. Combined with XRD results, the clay minerals are mainly kaolinite. Based on three-dimensional CT reconstruction, the development degree of coal pore fractures were: strong acid > strong alkali > neutral mine water > natural drying, the longer the roar tends to develop in lower section with high H+ concentration. Based on AE Fourier transform, the higher the H+ concentration, the higher the development degree of macro-large fractures; the higher the OH– concentration, the higher the development degree of small-sized fractures. However, the higher the H+ concentration, the higher the macro-orderliness of the crack system.

Structural evolution characteristics of lignite during pyrolysis based on alkaline-oxygen oxidation, NMR and FTIR

Pyrolysis is a crucial conversion process for lignite to improve its quality and produce chemicals. Here, the evolution characteristics and pathways of lignite during pyrolysis were investigated by the combination of oxidation product distribution and physical structural parameters, which reflected the correlations between the size of aromatic clusters and pyrolysis temperature. The results showed that with increasing the pyrolysis temperature up to 500 ℃, the aromatic structures were enriched, and the average size of aromatic clusters increased with pyrolysis temperature. A little variation of interlayer spacing (d002) was observed, while the stacking height (Lc) and the average lateral size (La) increased gradually. Before 400 ℃, double-aromatic clusters were dominant in chars, and the corresponding chars were abundant with precursor structures of the alkaline-oxygen oxidation products benzene tricarboxylic acid (BCA3), benzene tetracarboxylic acid (BCA4) and benzene pentacarboxylic acid (BCA5). Above 400 ℃, more triple- or quadruple-ring aromatic clusters were present, and the precursor structures of benzene dicarboxylic acid (BCA2), benzene tricarboxylic acid (BCA3), and benzene tetracarboxylic acid (BCA4) increased considerably. The results indicate that the benzene carboxylic acids (BCAs) from oxidation are an effective evaluation method to reflect the abundance of aromatic rings in the parent structure of coals.

Quantitative prediction of ultra-deep tight sandstone fractures based on the theory of minimum energy dissipation

Structural fractures are key factors that influence natural gas migration and accumulation within ultra-deep tight reservoirs. To obtain a quantitative forecast of the development and distribution of reservoir fractures in the Keshen gas reservoir, we analyzed the characteristics of the region's structural evolution and paleo-tectonic stress field settings. A reasonable geological model of the research area was built based on an interpretation of the geological structure, a test for rock mechanics, and an experiment on acoustic emission. Thereafter, a 3-D paleo-tectonic stress field during the mid-late Himalayan movement was simulated using the finite element method. By introducing the principle of minimum energy dissipation, which to our knowledge, was done for the first time in the field, mechanical constitutive models, rock failure criteria, and fracture parameter calculation models were derived and used to determine the quantitative development of fractures and predict zones prone to fracture development. The fracture distribution in the ultra-deep Keshen gas reservoir is mainly controlled by folds, buried depth, faults, and lithology. Interestingly, even in the strong tectonic compression movement, the stress field was not continuously transmitted forward but showed fluctuation or cyclicity, indicating that fractures might have occurred at each time stage. The predicted areas with developed fractures were consistent with wells having high fracture linear density (i.e., measured results) and in locations with high-producing gas wells. We believe that the novel method in this study can be of great significance to fracture research in other ultra-deep petroliferous basins.
