The aim of this study was to report the clinicopathologic and radiographic features of 80 cases of adenomatoid odontogenic tumor (AOT) from Guatemala, Brazil, and South Africa. Clinical data were collected from records of 4 oral pathology laboratories, and all cases were microscopically reviewed considering the current World Health Organization Classification. The series included 12 cases from Guatemala, 32 cases from Brazil, and 36 cases from South Africa. Fifty-four patients (68%) were female, and 26 (32%) were male, with average age of 18.9 years (range, 8-77 years). Tumors predominantly affected the anterior maxilla (44%) followed by the anterior mandible (29%), posterior mandible (19%), and posterior maxilla (6%). Forty-two tumors (58.3%) were follicular, 28 (38.8%) were extrafollicular, and 2 (2.8%) were peripheral. Most cases caused considerable cortical expansion, with average size of 3.2 cm. AOT from Latin America and Africa tend to show larger size compared with other countries.
