ROLE OF FARMERS GROUPS IN INCREASING SUSTAINABLE RICE PADDY FARMING BUSINESS IN LUBUK BAYAS VILLAGE OF PERBAUNGAN SUBDISTRICT

Farmer groups as a forum for organization and collaboration between members have a very important role in the life of the farming community, because all activities and problems in farming are carried out by groups simultaneously. With the existence of farmer groups, farmers can jointly solve problems which include the fulfillment of agricultural production facilities, technical production and marketing of products. Seeing this potential, farmer groups need to be fostered and empowered further in order to develop optimally. In increasing rice production, it is necessary to preserve the production environment, one of which is through the use of organic fertilizers. Various forms and materials of organic fertilizer can be applied depending on the availability at the farm location. In an effort to improve sustainable farming, The things that are applied are increasing productivity in farming activities and the use of superior seeds, the use of fertilizers, pesticides and the application of cooperation for the manufacture of fertilizers so that group members do not need to buy fertilizer. The existence of institutions/KUD in a village is very helpful for farming communities because these institutions can also take capital loans for farmers so that farmers are able to provide good production facilities, which so far farmers have only relied on outside capital, which is not certain whether they can afford it. continue to cooperate with farmer groups.

The Factor Affecting to Profitability of Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. Period 2011-2020

The purpose of this study is to determine factors Capital Adequacy Ratio, Non-Performing Loans and Operational Cost of Operating Income, Return On Assets as profitability at PT. Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. with periode 2011-2020. The research method used in this study is descriptive quantitative. The population used is the financial statements of PT. Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. The sample used is data that comes from the notes to the financial statements and income statements of PT. Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. in the period 2011 to 2020. Based on the results of the partial test (t test) the results is Capital Adequacy Ratio and Non Performing Loan have not a significant influence on Return On Assets and Operational Cost of Operating Income has a significant influence on Return On Assets. But base on simultan (F test) shows that the Capital Adequacy Ratio, Non Performing Loan and Operational Cost of Operating Income have a significant influence on Return On Assets. In the coefficient of determination, the value of Adjusted R Square is 92.60%, Return On Assets can be explained by the Capital Adequacy Ratio, Non-Performing Loans and Operating Cost of Operating Income, which means that the relationship between variables has a strong correlation, while the remaining 7.4% can be explained by other variables.

Juridical Overview of The Financing of MSME Micro Capital Service Unit (ULaMM) Syariah

This article is motivated by the special tasks carried out by thePT. Madani National Capital (PNM), which is only to carry out business activities to channel funds without making efforts to raise funds because this business unit is not a banking institution. The Micro Capital Service Unit (ULaMM) is a capital loan service for micro and small businesses accompanied by guidance to develop their business.UlaMM has been running business activities and providing financing services for the development of cooperatives, micro, small and medium enterprises. The agreement made by both parties was made in writing in accordance with POJK Number 16/POJK.05/2019 concerning the Supervision of PT. Permodalan Nasional Madani, Micro Capital Service Unit (ULaMM). This research uses descriptive qualitative method with data analysis used with descriptive analysis. Based on the method that has been used, it can be concluded that the agreement made is stated in writing in an agreement, this is in line with the provisions contained in POJK article 7 paragraph (2) which regulates that the financing service agreement must be made in writing. The agreement made is also in accordance with the provisions contained in Article 1320 of the Civil Code which regulates the legal terms of agreement.

Implementation of the Simple Multi Attribute Rating Technique (SMART) Method on the Decision Support System for Determining Revolving Fund Capital Loan Receipt at the Cooperative Service

The purpose of writing this final project is to find or recommend recipients of revolving fund borrowings at the cooperative office, therefore a Decision Support System is needed for the recommendation for acceptance of revolving capital loans at the cooperative office using the smart method. The research method applied in this research is the development of the waterfall method. The waterfall method is a systematic and sequential information system development model Implementation of the Smar Method in a Decision Support System for determining the acceptance of a revolving fund capital loan at the cooperative service is an algorithm for processing data based on the weight of the criteria. The Samrt method is a method used to determine the acceptance of a revolving fund capital loan based on the weight of the criteria, at the Cooperative Service there are six criteria, namely, capital range, rate, number of members, cooperative status, legal entity, length of establishment, each decision is calculated based on the six criteria above. Decision Support System Recommendation Revolving fund loan acceptance is built using Visual Basic programming language and Microsoft Access database. The Decision Support System produced in this study can display cooperative data and the ranking of the results of receiving revolving fund loans based on existing data so that it can be used as a solution or consideration in the process of receiving revolving fund loans.

 This study aims to examine the effect of Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), and Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) to the Share Price. The object of this research is 44 banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2014-2018. Samples were selected using the methodpurposive sampling namely 25 companies. The analytical method used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that the variableCapital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) and Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) does not have a direct effect on the Stock Price variable
 
 
 

CAPITAL EFFICIENCY AND DEFAULT RISK, EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE FROM COMMERCIAL BANKS IN KENYA

The main objective of this study was to determine effect of capital efficiency on default risk in commercial banks in Kenya. According to the bank supervisory report, the interest rate spread widened to 13 per cent at the end of December 2011 from 10.3 per cent by December 2010 which the CBK Governor termed as a sign of inefficiency in the banking sector. Secondary data was used in the study and descriptive survey design was applied. The target population was 42 Commercial Banks in Kenya out of which 2 were under receivership and 1 was under statutory management. Panel data for 39 commercial banks for the six years period from 2014 to 2019 were obtained from the CBK and individual bank websites. The study was guided by Agency theory, Moral hazard theory and Stakeholders theory. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and random and fixed effects were used for secondary data using E-views software. The findings indicated correlation coefficients of capital adequacy and return on equity of -0.14 and -0.11 respectively signifying a negative correlation between capital efficiency and non-performing loans. It was recommended that capital efficiency be strengthened to reduce non perfuming loans.

Financial Inclusion through Zakat Institution: Case Study in Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam

This research aims to reveal the financial inclusion that occurs in zakat institutions within zakat distribution and empowerment program in Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam. This study will deliver zakat distribution and empowerment program held by zakat institutions in two countries and then analyze how have financial inclusion process happened to mustahiq in both institutions. The object of this research are the government zakat institution in two countries, namely Indonesia (BAZNAS) and Brunei Darussalam (BAKAZ). This study uses a qualitative method within multiple case strategy. Data collection in this study was carried out through in-depth interviews with several expert informants of BAZNAS and BAKAZ and also mustahiq of each institutions. This study shows that there is mustahiq financial inclusion process on empowerment program held by BAZNAS and BAKAZ by the distribution of zakat for consumption and production needs. Financial inclusion happened in zakat institutions are transferring zakat funds, financing mustahiq business within capital loan, and channeling to financial institutions, so that mustahiq can transform gradually to be bankable and have financial access to scale up their business

Evolving Strategies for the Structuring of Working Capital Loans during Covid Times: An Analysis of Select Indian Private Sector Banks

Predicting human behavior is a difficult task, yet bankers perform this regularly while sanctioning working capital loans, so that money advanced is recoverable. For this, they try to assess credit worthiness of clients based on past performance through financials and banking habits amongst other parameters. Clients also look at fees and instalment burden, duration of loan, etc. However, with the adverse impact of Covid pandemic on earning capacities, banks need to relook at the way they structure loans. This study suggests that customer-focused, risk-adjusted analysis should be undertaken to reduce non-performing assets and improve asset portfolio quality of banks.

The mediating role of cost of capital in the relationship between capital structure and loan portfolio quality

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to establish the mediating role of cost of capital in the relationship between capital structure and loan portfolio quality in Uganda's microfinance institutions (MFIs).Design/methodology/approachA cross-sectional research design was adopted to collect data and partial least squares structural equation modelling was used to test the study hypotheses.FindingsCost of capital partially mediates the relationship between capital structure and loan portfolio quality. Hence, cost of capital acts as a conduit through which capital structure affects loan portfolio quality.Research limitations/implicationsCost of capital was generalized as financial and administrative costs. The impact of costs like dividend pay-outs, interest rates and/or loan covenants on loan portfolio quality could be investigated individually.Practical implicationsMFIs should be vigilant about loan recovery by using strategies like credit rationing to ensure timely repayments.Originality/valueThe study contributes to the ongoing academic debate by identifying the significant indirect role of cost of capital in explaining loan portfolio quality.

Pengaruh Intellectual Capital, Firm Size, Liquidity Dan Capital Structure Terhadap Firm Performance

The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of intellectual capital, firm size, liquidity, and capital structure on firm performance of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2017-2019. This research uses secondary data in the form of financial statements which was tested using Eviews Software version 10.0 SV. This research uses 82 manufacturing companies that have been selected through a purposive sampling method with a total of 246 data for three years. The results of the research showed that intellectual capital has positive effects to the firm performance and capital structure has negative effects to the firm performance, while firm size and liquidity have no positive effect to the firm performance. The implication of this research is that companies need to maintain the quality of their resources to create a competitive advantage and companies need to pay attention to their capital loans to keep up the performance.

Analysis of Market Structure, Conduct, and Performance of the Lemuru Fish in Muncar District, Banyuwangi Regency, East Java

In general, the marketing of fishery products is potentially inefficient. This study aims to analyze the structure, conduct, and performance of the Lemuru fish market in Muncar District, Banyuwangi Regency. The method used to analyze the data obtained at the research site is descriptive qualitative quantitative. The results showed that the structure of the Lemuru fish market formed a tight oligopoly market and concentrated on fish collectors. The CR4 value is 90% for collectors, 30% for retailers, and 18% for fishers. The shape of the market structure affects market conduct where traders are in the price-makers position while fishers are price-takers. The form of vertical business integration in the Lemuru fish market is a cooperation between collectors and retailers to increase profits and dominate the market. The causal relationship between market structure and market conduct forms an efficient market performance with share values in both marketing channels exceeding the standard efficiency values set at 47.37% in channel I and 52.94% in channel II. The results of this study indicate the importance of the role of local governments in carrying out fish auctions according to their functions, providing counseling on fishery capital loan programs, and processing added value to fishers. In addition, this research is also helpful for fishers related to loans for fishing businesses, prices, market needs, and added value of Lemuru fish.

PENGARUH JUMLAH ANGGOTA DAN STRUKTUR MODAL KOPERASI TERHADAP JUMLAH SISA HASIL USAHA PADA KOPERASI PEGAWAI REPUBLIK INDONESIA DI PURWOKERTO

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the number of members and the capital structure of cooperatives on the amount of Remaining Operations (SHU) on the Cooperative of Employee Republic of Indonesia (KPRI). Samples of 15 KPRI in Purwokerto were obtained by purposive sampling technique. Based on 3 years of observation, the amount of research data is 45. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using panel data regression analysis techniques. The results showed that: (1) The number of members had no effect on SHU; (2) Own capital has a positive effect on the Remaining Results of Operations; and 3) Loan capital has no effect on the Remaining Results of Business. Theoretically, this research only supports the theory of stewardship in terms of own capital. Whereas in terms of number of members and no loan capital, this is because the cooperative managers are none other than a small number of existing members so the existence of loan capital is not a priority to be managed. Practically, this research can be considered for cooperative managers and cooperative members to better manage cooperative cooperatives through increasing the number of members, and utilizing their own capital and existing loan capital. Furthermore, the government is expected to be able to pay more attention and supervise cooperatives so that their existence benefits the Indonesian people.

Pengaruh Perkembangan Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah Terhadap Pertumbuhan Ekonomi di ASEAN 4

ASEAN is an organization in the Southeast Asian region which has ten member countries. Among the ten ASEAN member countries, there are four countries that have the same characteristics, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand. The four countries are developing countries with low to medium income, where the economy is supported by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This study aims to see the effect of the number of workers, the value of exports and the value of MSME capital loans on economic growth in ASEAN 4. The MSMEs studied are MSMEs in four ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand) since 2009-2018. The analytical tool used is multiple linear regression using panel data by performing statistical tests (F test, t test and R2 test) and classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation). Data analysis shows that the number of workers and the value of MSME capital loans have a positive and significant effect on economic growth in ASEAN 4. Meanwhile, the export value of MSMEs has a positive but not significant effect on economic growth in ASEAN 4.

PENGEMBANGAN UMKM MELALUI PERAN SERTA STRATEGI DINAS KOPERASI DAN USAHA MIKRO KABUPATEN JOMBANG

In developing MSMEs, it is necessary to have an important role and strategy to help business actors in developing their businesses, but there are still many business actors who are still unable to develop their businesses properly and need assistance from the Cooperatives and Micro Business Office. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, namely by providing an overview and explanation of the Department of Cooperatives and Micro Enterprises in developing Jombang SMEs. The process of collecting data using interviews, observation and documentation. The focus of this research is the Role and Strategy of the Department of Cooperatives and Micro Enterprises in developing MSMEs to the fullest. The results of this study indicate that the Role and Strategy of the Department of Cooperatives and Micro Enterprises in developing MSMEs. The role of the Cooperative Service is that business actors can receive training, guidance and increase in knowledge and abilities, assist in financial terms, meaning by giving direction to business actors to obtain assistance funds from various parties, and making regulations and policies so that business actors can optimize their business. Meanwhile, the strategy used through market development is by involving business actors at exhibitions and helping promote their products on various social media accounts, participating in training and coaching activities held, and increasing financial capacity by providing direction for business actors to obtain business capital loans.

Development of the de minimis guarantee programme for SMEs in the transportation sector in Poland. Does COVID-19 matter?

The paper aims to present the functioning of the de minimis guarantee programme for SMEs in the transportation sector in Poland. Moreover, our study assesses the impact of COVID-19 on numbers and values of obtained guarantees by the analysed enterprises. We use data from Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, a state development bank. The research period covers 2013–2020. The government de minimis guarantee programme aims to support entrepreneurship using BGK guarantees to ease banking loan barriers for SMEs in Poland. The study reveals that the value of guarantees granted to SMEs in the transportation sector is continuously growing, while the number of guarantees fluctuates in the analysed period. Micro-enterprises obtain about 50% of the total value of all guarantees. SMEs in the transportation sector primarily use the de minimis guarantee programme to secure revolving working capital loans. We observe significant differences in the number and value of granted guarantees among 16 Polish voivodeships. The t-test analysis confirms that both numbers and values of credit guarantees are significantly greater in the COVID-19 than in the pre-COVID-19 year. Such results may indicate the deteriorating financial situation of the surveyed SMEs, resulting in the need to use de minimis guar antees to successfully borrow financial capital from the bank.

STRATEGI PENGEMBANGAN USAHATANI BAWANG MERAH DI DESA SUNGAI GERINGGING KECAMATAN KAMPAR KIRI KABUPATEN KAMPAR PROVINSI RIAU

Shallot plant has a good prospect to be developed if farmers have a desirability and ability to cultivate it. The purpose of this study was to identify the internal and external environment and to formulate a shallot farming development strategy. The research used a survey method located in Sungai Geringging Village, Kampar Kiri District, Kampar Regency and was selected 40 farmers as respondents. The data were analyzed using IFE, EFE and the SWOT. The results of external opportunities showed that Kampar Regency is a center for shallot cultivation, while fluctuations in the selling price of production were considered a threat factor. The use of the improved yielding seed was a strength, and a weakness was the transportation facility. The IE matrix indicated that the shallot farming is in cell III, so that it can carry out market penetration strategies and product development. The SWOT matrix showed that farming could carry out the WO (Weaknesses-Opportunities) strategy, namely with increasing optimally business capabilities related to capital loans, using applied technology through training. It requires the role of the government in accessing modern markets and increasing the ability of farmers to do business through information technology facilities and regional autonomy policies.

KIPRAH KOPERASI SYARIAH DALAM MENGELOLA PASAR TRADISIONAL MENURUT PERATURAN MENTERI KOPERASI DAN USAHA KECIL DAN MENENGAH NOMOR : 11/PER/M.KUKM/XII/2017

Today's sharia cooperatives have begun to show a very positive view among the community, where the mindset is built that by adhering to sharia principles there will be no element of usury in running their business so that people feel safer if they join cooperatives. Traditional market management by sharia cooperatives will be much more useful and make it easier for members to obtain business capital loans in the form of sharia concepts. With the issuance of this cooperative ministerial regulation which will regulate savings and loan business activities and sharia financing, it will foster the passion of traditional markets because market traders will be helped directly from the financing aspect in carrying out their business activities. Sharia savings and loan and financing activities by sharia cooperatives will encourage the openness of the mental attitude of traders who feel protected from usury behavior and will get blessings for any business profits obtained, if this is embedded in the mindset of every market trader then it is only natural that the market will advance and the community will be spared from business patterns that contain usury element. Traditional markets under the management of sharia cooperatives sooner or later the community paradigm will wake up that traditional market activities will change the designation to the term sharia market. The regulation of the minister of cooperatives and small and medium enterprises number: 11/Per/M.KUKM/XII/2017 concerning the implementation of savings and loan business activities and sharia financing by cooperatives has provided a very significant space for traditional market traders in running their business.

The Effective Financing Model of Koperasi Sharia in the Covid 19 Pandemic Era

The COVID-19 pandemic has not ended, causing some Low and Small business affected by COVID-19 to stop their operations, uncertainty around. It is stopped due to lack of capital or lack of consumers. Therefore. This research provides an effective financial inclusion model that reaches all levels of society with a smaller scope. The research method is :1. A qualitative participant observation where the researcher is directly involved in overseeing the establishment of cooperatives and managing the daily operations of all-business sharia cooperatives. 2. Starting from setting up the registration form, calculating the profit-sharing formula for capital loans (Mudharabah) and financing loans (Murabahah) in addition to compiling financial reports and calculating profit sharing for each member proportionally. In addition to mudharabah and murabahah products, the cooperative also provides a social fund (Qordhul Hasan/benevolence fund) of 20% of the profits received from loan transactions. These funds are used for loans without any profit in it. This fund was formed as a loan to members who need social funds such as medical treatment, education, childbirth and others. Due to the (still in) pandemic period, cooperative members are still a small number of the population in this region.

A Review of The Unethical Business Practices That Causes Loan Default in Small Scale Enterprises in Port Loko Municipality in Sierra Leone

Small scale enterprises are an income stream for the unemployed and under-employed in Sierra Leone. The financing of such a venture is from the loan capital of Micro Finance Institutions and other credit agencies in the country. Default in the repayment of loan capital within prescribed conditions has been an issue because of the unethical practices of lenders and borrowers and hence concern for studies. The primary objective of the study is to do a review on the unethical business practices that causes loan default in small-scale enterprises in Port Loko municipality in Sierra Leone. Such studies will avail recommendations that shall be instruments to minimize the rate of unethical practices of borrowers and lenders within the Pot Loko Municipality. The Specific objectives of the study are to know the attitudes of Lenders and borrowers that influence loan default. Questionnaires were administered to respond to Researched Questions which were framed from the research objectives. Also, Reviews of others writers were done with regard ethical issues. The researcher Used the Likert Scale in preparing and administering the questionnaire. Opinions of Respondents were analyzed using the Structured Package for Social Sciences. The following analyses were done: i) Percentage Analysis, ii) Analysis of correlation by use of the Pearson Correlation. iii). Analysis of coefficient iv) Analysis of Model summary v) Analysis of Anova. From the study, the Researcher discovered that Unethical business practices like bribe-taking and other dishonest games are predominant between lenders and borrowers, and these practices have greatly influenced loan default in small-scale enterprises in Port |Loko Municipality in Sierra Leone and have a significant relationship on loan default.

The Attractiveness 0f Sharia Financial Institutions for MSMEs in Pontianak City, The Province of West Kalimantan, Indonesia

<p>The development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) requires support from financial institutions, both banking and non-banking, in providing working capital loans. This support includes ease of procedure, easy installment payments, and services. The contribution of Islamic financial institutions in the Province of West Kalimantan, Indonesia, cannot be ignored. This study aims to investigate determinants of the behavior in the selection of <em>sharia</em> financial institutions in Pontianak by MSMEs. The research samples were the perpetrators of MSMEs spread in six districts in Pontianak City, 20 MSMEs per district. The data in this study were the primary data obtained from a questionnaire survey. The data analysis technique used was Probit Regression Analysis. The results of this study indicate that the profit-sharing system that is considered not burdensome to customers, the simplicity of procedures that save time and cost, and the number of products offered in accordance with the customer needs significantly influence the probability of choosing Islamic financial institutions. The variable of the suitability of the operational rules of Islamic financial institutions with Islamic rules has no effect on customers’ decision in choosing a financial institution. This is an opportunity for Islamic financial institutions to develop their businesses by offering their products to non-Muslim customers.</p>
