Precocious puberty is a hormonal alteration in infants, which leads to the development of mature sexual characteristics ahead of time; In recent years, the number of cases in consultation has increased, which is why the objective was to carry out an updated systematic review on the properties of luteinizing hormone, focusing on its detection capacity and cut-off value to identify precocious puberty in the population. pediatric population. The article was based on a systematic literature review, by searching for scientific articles published from 2019 to 2024 in the PubMed, Cochrane, ScienceDirect and MEDLINE databases. Nine researches were studied that differ in terms of the relevant properties of the luteinizing hormone test. It has not been possible to reach a consensus on the appropriate time to perform and evaluate this test, as it can vary between 30 and 60 minutes, even up to 180 minutes. Furthermore, the changes are notable with respect to the cut-off point; specificity and sensitivity, which is why it is important to carry out new lines of research that encourage establishing certain values that guide health personnel to reach the diagnosis of precocious puberty.
