Instructor’s Research Capabilities in A Government University in Guangdong Province

This research will determine the capabilities of the instructors of Guangdong University of Science and Technology. Through research, the academic administrator and instructor enhances and develops his or her own research capability level by joining and attending different training and development- thus, her strength. This workshop session involves sampling methods for qualitative and quantitative researches. It is for the researchers to select the most appropriate number of participants. Now that the researchers know the number of participants needed, making data collection instruments and disseminating it is the following stage. The instructors' unanimous agreement on their strength in writing the concept paper reflects a shared competency that extends beyond individual capabilities. It indicates a collective proficiency in navigating the complexities of research conceptualization. Optimizing Collaborative Crowdsensing: A Graph Theoretical Approach to Team Recruitment and Fair Incentive Distribution.

Collaborative crowdsensing is a team collaboration model that harnesses the intelligence of a large network of participants, primarily applied in areas such as intelligent computing, federated learning, and blockchain. Unlike traditional crowdsensing, user recruitment in collaborative crowdsensing not only considers the individual capabilities of users but also emphasizes their collaborative abilities. In this context, this paper takes a unique approach by modeling user interactions as a graph, transforming the recruitment challenge into a graph theory problem. The methodology employs an enhanced Prim algorithm to identify optimal team members by finding the maximum spanning tree within the user interaction graph. After the recruitment, the collaborative crowdsensing explored in this paper presents a challenge of unfair incentives due to users engaging in free-riding behavior. To address these challenges, the paper introduces the MR-SVIM mechanism. Initially, the process begins with a Gaussian mixture model predicting the quality of users' tasks, combined with historical reputation values to calculate their direct reputation. Subsequently, to assess users' significance within the team, aggregation functions and the improved PageRank algorithm are employed for local and global influence evaluation, respectively. Indirect reputation is determined based on users' importance and similarity with interacting peers. Considering the comprehensive reputation value derived from the combined assessment of direct and indirect reputations, and integrating the collaborative capabilities among users, we have formulated a feature function for contribution. This function is applied within an enhanced Shapley value method to assess the relative contributions of each user, achieving a more equitable distribution of earnings. Finally, experiments conducted on real datasets validate the fairness of this mechanism.

Toward Sustainable Global Product Development Performance: Exploring the Criticality of Organizational Factors and the Moderating Influence of Global Innovation Culture

In today’s dynamic and global landscape, innovation and globalization are intricately linked drivers that propel modern businesses forward, serving as indispensable pillars upon which organizations heavily rely to maintain their competitive edge. Leveraging innovation within the context of global product development (GPD) practices is imperative for organizations seeking to survive and effectively compete in the rapidly evolving marketplace. While preceding studies have primarily focused on the importance of individual and organizational capabilities, policies, and cultural factors in driving product development (PD) performance, they often overlook their interconnectedness within a global context. To address this gap, this study delves into the relationship between organizational factors and global product development performance (GPDP) while examining the moderating influence of global innovation culture (GIC). These organizational factors encompass technological innovation capabilities (TICs), team creativity (TC), dynamic capabilities (DCA), and competitive advantage (CA). Our hypothesis suggests a positive impact of these factors on GPD performance. Employing a structural equation modeling (SEM) approach through SMART-PLS 3, we analyzed data collected from 480 questionnaire forms distributed among registered global product development (GPD) organizations operating in China. The empirical findings underscore the significant influence of organizational factors on GPD performance, highlighting the critical role of global innovation culture in shaping these relationships. These insights shed light on the importance of establishing a harmonious balance between organizational culture and various factors to enhance interaction among organizational elements and optimize global product development performance. Ultimately, these efforts can lead to improvements in the overall effectiveness and sustained global product development.

Individual activity levels and presence of conspecifics affect fish passage rates over an in‐flume barrier

AbstractDams and other in‐stream obstacles disrupt longitudinal connectivity and hinder fish from moving between habitats. Fishways and other fish passage solutions are used to pass fish over these artificial migration barriers. Fish passage functionality, however, varies greatly with fish passage design and environmental conditions and depends on fish species and characteristics. In particular, swimming performance and fish behaviour are considered key characteristics to predict fish passage performance. It is also well known, but not well quantified, that the presence of conspecifics affects fish passage behaviour. In this study, we quantified individual passage rates of PIT‐tagged gudgeons (Gobio gobio) over a scaled deep side notch weir in an hydraulic flume. We then quantified individual swimming capability (time to fatigue) and activity level (distance moved in an open field test) for the same individual fish and tested for potential effects on fish passage rate. To check for potential group effects, we then repeated the passage experiment for fish individually or in groups of five. More active fish displayed higher passage rates compared to less active fish, and fish passed the obstacle at higher rates in groups of five compared to alone. No effect of fish swimming capability on passage rates was detected. This result highlights the need to take both individual variation as well as the presence and behaviour of conspecifics into account in fish passage studies and evaluations. Doing so has the potential to improve the understanding of fish behaviour, and in the end, the design of fish passage solutions. Future studies should explore these results on free ranging fish and in relation to in‐situ fish passage solutions.

Pengaruh Self Efficacy, Individual innovation capabillity dan Knowledge sharing terhadap Kinerja karyawan di Industri tas.

This research aims to determine the influence of self-efficacy, individual innovation capability and knowledge sharing on employee performance. This research uses quantitative methods with total sampling of Ud employees. Surwalandono to evaluate the influence of self-efficacy, individual innovation capability, and knowledge sharing on employee performance in the bag industry. Data analysis used multiple linear regression with SPSS. The research results show that there is an influence between the variables self efficacy, individual innovation capability and knowledge sharing which is positive and significant. The self-efficacy variable has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Individual innovation capability has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Knowledge sharing has a positive and significant effect on employee performance.

Balloon compression-induced spinal cord injury in canines: a large animal model for spinal cord injury research.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a life-altering condition that severely impacts an individual's functional capabilities and has significant implications for both the individual and society. Large animal models are crucial for understanding the pathology and biomechanics of SCI. Dogs (Canis lupus familiaris) are promising models for SCI research due to their anatomical and histopathological similarities to humans. Balloon compression is an established method for inducing controlled SCI in canines. In this study, we optimized a balloon compression procedure for inducing SCI in dogs, aiming to develop a reliable model for future in vivo studies. Our methodology successfully induced total motoric loss in canines, observed for seven days, a critical period for therapeutic interventions. Histopathological examinations using Luxol fast blue (LFB) staining revealed total demyelination in intralesional samples, confirming the structural damage caused by balloon compression. We concluded that a balloon compression model at the T10-T11 vertebral level, with an inflated balloon volume of 1.0 ml, induced SCI while minimizing the risk of balloon rupture. Longer duration of compression ensures total paralysis in this model, providing a platform for testing therapeutic interventions during the acute phase of SCI. The canine model generated consistent data and facilitated straightforward observational findings.

No Association Between Injury-Related Fear and Isokinetic Quadriceps Strength in Individuals With a History of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction.

Injury-related fear and quadriceps strength are independently associated with secondary anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury risk. It is not known whether injury-related fear and quadriceps strength are associated, despite their individual predictive capabilities of secondary ACL injury. The purpose of this study was to examine the association between injury-related fear and quadriceps strength in individuals at least 1year after ACL reconstruction (ACLR). Cross-sectional study. Forty participants between the ages of 18 and 35years at least 1year post unilateral primary ACLR. Participants completed the Tampa Scale of Kinesiophobia-11 (TSK-11) and a standard isokinetic quadriceps strength assessment using the Biodex Isokinetic Dynamometer. Pearson Product-Moment correlations were used to examine the linear association between the TSK-11 scores and peak torque (in nanometers per kilogram) for each limb and between the TSK-11 scores and limb symmetry indices for each limb. Pearson Product-Moment correlation coefficients (r) were interpreted as very high (.90-1.00), high (.70-.90), moderate (.50-.70), low (.30-.50), and no correlation (.00-.30). The average TSK-11 score was 18.2 (5.3), average ACLR peak quadriceps torque was 1.9 (0.50)N·m/kg, average contralateral peak quadriceps torque was 2.3 (0.48)N·m/kg, and average limb symmetry index was 85.3% (12.6%). There was no statistically significant correlation between the TSK-11 and peak quadriceps torque on the ACLR limb (r = .12, P = .46), the TSK-11 and contralateral limb (r = .29, P = .07), or the TSK-11 and limb symmetry index (r = -.18, P = .27). There was no association between kinesiophobia and peak isokinetic quadriceps strength in individuals at least 1year post-ACLR. Both factors, independently, have been shown to influence risk of secondary injury in patients after ACLR.

Defragmentation of care in complex patients with ESKD improves clinical outcomes.

Given the problematic fragmentation of care for patients with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD), a kidney care organization and an integrated health system within a large accountable care organization partnered to best utilize their individual capabilities to collaborate around their shared patients in a coordinated care approach. Ultimately, the goal of the program is to allow care teams to achieve the triple aim of improving the patient experience, improving clinical outcomes, and reducing the total cost of health care. This is a retrospective examination of the first year of the Shared Patient Care Coordination (SPCC)program. The analysis consisted of 2 parts. First, rates of hospitalizations and emergency department visits were compared between the SPCC patients and other patients of the integrated health system who had ESKD but did not participate in SPCC. Second, rates of clinical indicators-central venous catheter (CVC) use, home dialysis, advance care planning, and missed dialysis treatments-were benchmarked vs normative data taken by bootstrap sampling of the kidney care organization's patient population. Overall, dialysis patients participating in the SPCC program had a 15% lower rate of hospital admissions than those not participating ( P = .02). Additionally, the bootstrap analysis showed that by the second year, dialysis patients in the program had favorable rates (above the 95th percentile) of CVC use, dialysis treatment absenteeism, and completion of advance care plans. Enhanced and structured communication between dialysis providers and patient care teams provides a unique opportunity to coordinate patient-centered care and improve patient outcomes.

The influence of classes using an interactive whiteboard on the functional state of the body of primary school students

Introduction. The development of the education system in recent decades has been accompanied by extensive informatization, activating the cognitive activity of students necessary for the formation of a successful educational process. To identify the impact of the use of an interactive whiteboard (ID) in adolescents of grades 5 and 7, a comparative study of the functional state of the body (FS) of schoolchildren with and without ID was conducted, which is an integral indicator of the ability of an individual's body to maintain a reserve of adaptive reserves under the influence of adverse factors. Mental performance indicators according to the letter table of Anfimov served as markers of FS, allowing to assess the FS of the central nervous system and its change under the influence of various factors. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to study mental performance and assess the body's FS and the emotional state of primary school students in lessons with and without the use of ID. Materials and methods. The study of the influence of the use of ID in educational activities on the mental performance and emotional state of 233 students of different sexes was conducted in a natural hygienic experiment at a secondary school in Moscow. The differences determined by the Student's t-test were considered significant at p<0.05. Results. The initial indicators of mental performance in girls and boys of grades 5 and 7 correspond to the standards for children of this age. When comparing the levels of working capacity in grades 5 and 7, it was revealed that fifth graders are almost 2 times more likely to have a high level of working capacity (p<0.01). And in grades 5 and 7, there is a tendency for girls to have a higher intensity of work than boys, and in grades 7 it is significantly higher (p <0.05). In the process of working with the use of ID, the coefficient of decrease in working capacity in students of grades 5 and 7 was higher than 1, and this indicates the tension of regulatory processes in the body, the impossibility of rapid restoration of functions in students of these age groups, especially girls. Conclusion. The results of the study show that the use of an interactive whiteboard increases educational motivation and emotionally activates the educational activities of students in grades 5-7. However, a comparison of the fatigue of two variants of lesson organization (with and without ID) with the same lesson density according to the distribution of individual shifts in mental performance showed that after lessons with ID, there is a higher percentage of fatigue and pronounced fatigue among students of the basic level of education, and gender differences were also revealed: for girls, classes using ID were more exhausting than for boys. The data obtained indicate that when using electronic educational tools in the educational process, it is very important to take into account the age, gender and individual capabilities of the body of students.

HR (Human Resources) development in sub-district offices refers to efforts to improve the quality, capacity and performance of employees working at the sub-district level. HR development is a strategic process that involves various activities and programs to strengthen the capabilities of individuals, teams and the organization as a whole. The aim is to improve efficiency, effectiveness and services provided to the community. Human resources are one of the most important assets for an organization/company. The role of human resources for organizations/companies is not only seen from the results of work productivity but also seen from the quality of work produced, even further, the superiority of an organization/company is also determined by the superiority of its human competitiveness, not determined by its natural resources. The stronger the knowledge of human resources, the stronger the company's competitiveness. Improving the quality of human resources, and therefore, this paper draws a conclusion, namely "Human Resource Management in the Kangayan District Office". Based on the introduction outlined above, the problem formulation that can be taken is how to manage and empower existing human resources in the Kangayan sub-district office so that it has benefits and functions even though the existing human resources are very limited, it can be achieved through the human resource development process, Human Resource Management (HRDM) is very closely related to HR in an organization or company. HRM itself has many benefits and functions and is useful in managing and empowering existing human resources who are planning to join an organization or company.

Impact of Knowledge Management Processes on Competitive Advantage: The Case of Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) Companies in Malaysia

This study examines the effect of knowledge management (KM) processes, specifically knowledge acquisition, conversion, application, and protection, on competitive advantage (CA) within Malaysian Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) companies. Using a pre-tested survey questionnaire, data was collected from 122 MSC companies. The collected data was analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Path analyses results revealed significant and positive associations with CA exclusively for knowledge conversion and application, highlighting the critical role of these KM processes in shaping CA. This study contributes to the KM literature by providing empirical evidence on the impacts of individual KM process capabilities on CA. Practically, this study offers practical insights for industry practitioners, guiding them in the strategic enhancement and sustenance of CA through effective KM processes tailored to the MSC context.

The Impact of Individual Capabilities on Ecosystem Services and Farmers’ Well-Being: A Case Study of the Loess Plateau, China

Exploring the impact of individual capabilities on ecosystem services and farmers’ well-being is conducive to discovering the complex relationship between ESs and human well-being, and has clear practical value for the sustainable management and improvement of farmers’ well-being in ecologically fragile areas in China. An importance–accessibility index of ESs was constructed and the objective well-being and subjective well-being of farmers were assessed. Subsequently, the relationship among capabilities, ESs, and well-being was elucidated based on a structural equation model. The results showed that fruits, pest control, fuelwood, water conservation, and wild food were the ES types that contributed most to farmers’ well-being. There were some similarities and differences between the dimensions of objective and subjective well-being. For example, farmers with adequate leisure time reported higher leisure satisfaction and farmers with relatively adequate income levels reported the lowest income satisfaction. The direct effect of capabilities on ESs and objective well-being was significant, and the direct effect of capabilities on their subjective well-being was not significant. Their capabilities had a significant indirect impact on their objective well-being by influencing ESs and did not have a significant indirect impact on their subjective well-being by influencing ESs; their capabilities had a significant indirect impact on their subjective well-being by influencing the ESs and objective well-being. Physical health, mental health, and agricultural skills were the key types of capabilities that influenced the farmers’ access to ESs and well-being. Improving these capabilities can enable local farmers to more fully access ESs and improve their well-being.

Improving awareness of foreign domestic workers during the COVID-19 pandemic using infographics: An experience during the crisis

The COVID-19 epidemic is a significant humanitarian crisis witnessed in contemporary times, necessitating the exploration of techniques and approaches that might augment the capabilities of individuals within society to mitigate the adverse consequences of this pandemic. Domestic workers have always been an important part of societal structure, and it is essential to ensure their awareness about the perils of the pandemic as well as implement preventive measures. This is crucial in order to effectively address the hazards associated with the ongoing epidemic. The primary objective of this study was to assess the efficacy of infographic technology in augmenting the level of knowledge among foreign domestic workers on the COVID-19 epidemic. The present study employed a quasi-experimental design to examine and compare the effects of infographic technology on the experimental group, while the control group received only public awareness messages disseminated to all citizens and residents. The study sample comprised (16) foreign domestic workers, who were assigned to the two research groups through a random allocation process. The development of the COVID-19 pandemic awareness scale was conducted. The measurement scale consisted of three dimensions: the cognitive awareness dimension, including a set of (12) statements; the performative awareness dimension, comprising a set of (8) statements; and the psychological awareness dimension, comprising a set of (10) statements. The findings demonstrated the superiority of the experimental group, which used the infographic approach, over the control group in fostering awareness of the COVID-19 epidemic throughout its three dimensions among the participants of the study. The study suggested the need of expanding the utilization of infographics in an attempt to enhance knowledge and awareness of the COVID-19 pandemic, alongside the establishment of varied databases for migrant domestic workers. The objective is also to develop an extensive digital awareness strategy about the impacts of the COVID-19 epidemic, so as to include an increased number of informative infographics.

Thematic Learning in the Independent Curriculum in Elementary Schools Based on the Islamic Montessori Method for Multiple Intelligence

Recently, the practice of categorizing intelligent students and unintelligent students is a deeply ingrained phenomenon within the realm of education in Indonesia. Indeed, multiple specialists have verified that the attributes of intelligence vary among individual students. Hence, this study aims to revolutionize theme education in primary schools by implementing an autonomous curriculum that is rooted in the Islamic Montessori for Multiple Intelligence approach. This study employs the library research methodology, utilizing primary and secondary data derived from printed or digital sources such as books, journals, and magazines. The outcome of this discussion is to generate a set of activities for different domains of learning. These activities include folding clothes or buttoning clothes for the Islamic Studies domain, hand washing for the practical life domain, matching pictures with zones for the sensorial domain, matching words for the language domain, matching numbers for the mathematical domain, matching fruit with pictures for the cultural realm, and drawing or creating ecobricks for the arts & crafts realm. These diverse educational approaches involve the creation of a curriculum centered around the Islamic Montessori for Multiple Intelligence method, with the aim of promoting a healthy and virtuous lifestyle. These methods can be effectively utilized by teachers during classroom instruction. Through the development of diverse learning activities, education will be conducted in a more comprehensive manner, tailored to the individual traits and capabilities of each student. This approach to designing educational activities can thereafter be implemented in the instruction of young children in primary schools.

Attention-Modulated Cortical Responses as a Biomarker for Tinnitus.

Attention plays an important role in not only the awareness and perception of tinnitus but also its interactions with external sounds. Recent evidence suggests that attention is heightened in the tinnitus brain, likely as a result of relatively local cortical changes specific to deafferentation sites or global changes that help maintain normal cognitive capabilities in individuals with hearing loss. However, most electrophysiological studies have used passive listening paradigms to probe the tinnitus brain and produced mixed results in terms of finding a distinctive biomarker for tinnitus. Here, we designed a selective attention task, in which human adults attended to one of two interleaved tonal (500 Hz and 5 kHz) sequences. In total, 16 tinnitus (5 females) and 13 age- and hearing-matched control (8 females) subjects participated in the study, with the tinnitus subjects matching the tinnitus pitch to 5.4 kHz (range = 1.9-10.8 kHz). Cortical responses were recorded in both passive and attentive listening conditions, producing no differences in P1, N1, and P2 between the tinnitus and control subjects under any conditions. However, a different pattern of results emerged when the difference was examined between the attended and unattended responses. This attention-modulated cortical response was significantly greater in the tinnitus than control subjects: 3.9-times greater for N1 at 5 kHz (95% CI: 2.9 to 5.0, p = 0.007, ηp2 = 0.24) and 3.0 for P2 at 500 Hz (95% CI: 1.9 to 4.5, p = 0.026, ηp2 = 0.17). We interpreted the greater N1 modulation as local neural changes specific to the tinnitus frequency and the greater P2 as global changes to hearing loss. These two cortical measures were used to differentiate between the tinnitus and control subjects, producing 83.3% sensitivity and 76.9% specificity (AUC = 0.81, p = 0.006). These results suggest that the tinnitus brain is more plastic than that of the matched non-tinnitus controls and that the attention-modulated cortical response can be developed as a clinically meaningful biomarker for tinnitus.

Intelligent decision-making for binary coverage: Unveiling the potential of the multi-armed bandit selector

In this article, we propose the integration of a novel reinforcement learning technique into our generic and unified framework. This framework enables any continuous metaheuristic to operate in binary optimization, with the technique in question known as the Multi-Armed Bandit. Population-based metaheuristics comprise multiple individuals that cooperatively and globally explore the search space using their limited individual capabilities. Our framework allows these population-based metaheuristics to continue leveraging their original movements, designed for continuous optimization, once they are binary encoded. The generality of the framework has facilitated the instantiation of popular algorithms from the optimization, machine learning, and evolutionary computing communities. Furthermore, it permits the design of new and innovative optimization instances using various component strategies, reflecting the framework’s modularity. The results comparing two statistical techniques and three hybridizations coming from Machine Learning, have shown to obtain a better performance with the metahuristics in Grey Wolf Optimizer and Whale Optimization Algorithm.

Trajectory of intrinsic capacity among community-dwelling older adults in China: The China health and retirement longitudinal study

BackgroundsIntrinsic capacity (IC), the sum of individual mental and physical capabilities, as well as living environment and behavior, jointly determine the functional ability of older adults, shifting the focus from disease to function. At the population level, IC in older adults is associated with adverse health outcomes, such as disability, falls, and death. At the individual level, IC changes dynamically. However, studies on the longitudinal IC trajectory and the factors influencing IC deterioration are limited. We aimed to analyze the IC trajectory and explore the risk factors for IC deterioration in Chinese older adults. MethodsData were obtained from the baseline (2011–2012) and 4-year follow-up (2015) CHARLS surveys, including 1906 people aged 60 years and older. IC comprises six dimensions: locomotion, vitality, hearing, vision, cognition, and psychology. IC trajectory was categorized into three groups: improved, maintained, and deteriorated. Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze factors influencing the trajectory of IC deterioration. ResultsAfter 4 years, 32.1 % had deteriorated, 38.5 % remained stable, and 29.4 % had improved. Age, low level of education, widowed were independently associated with IC deterioration. ConclusionsDynamic IC monitoring supports the development of individualized intervention policies to delay or prevent IC deterioration.

The digitalization of human capital strategies has become a crucial element in enhancing employee quality in the current digital era. In an increasingly interconnected and dynamic business environment, companies need to adopt innovative approaches to strengthen and optimize their human resources. Human capital comprises a combination of knowledge, skills, innovation, and individual capabilities to create value in achieving specific goals. However, the quality of employees at PT. Tuah Turangga Agung, especially in terms of digitalization, still needs improvement. Employee development plans related to digitalization have not been fully realized. This research aims to explore the role of digitalized human capital strategies in enhancing employee quality at the company. Through the application of information and communication technology, companies can improve efficiency in human resource management. Digital innovation and automation enable companies to recruit, identify potential talents, and track employee progress more effectively. This study employs descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods to depict the impact of digitalized human capital strategies on employee quality development. The results indicate a significant and positive effect, urging companies to invest in digital solutions to enhance their workforce quality.

The Impact of Aquatic Rehabilitation Exercises on Improving Motor Abilities In Spastic Paralysis Patients Aged (6-8) Years

The researchers aim to address the rehabilitation of children with simple spastic cerebral palsy, emphasizing the importance of early intervention for faster and better rehabilitation. The study also aims to develop exercises and use an aquatic environment for the rehabilitation of children aged 6-8 years with simple spastic cerebral palsy, assessing the impact of aquatic exercises on the rehabilitation and motor abilities of this age group. The research sample, consisting of five individuals with simple spastic cerebral palsy, was purposively selected from the Happiness Institute for Physically Disabled Individuals in Baghdad. The researchers ensured homogeneity in variables such as height, weight, age, and severity of the condition to establish a common starting point for the intervention. The researchers condensed their findings into an aquatic therapy method, believing in the scientific and field capabilities of individuals, provided there is access to modern information, devices, and advanced means, conducting scientific experiments to enhance the effectiveness of the beneficiaries. The significance of the research lies in the rehabilitation of individuals with spastic cerebral palsy, aiming to save time and effort and increase motivation for faster, better, more advanced, and enjoyable rehabilitation for them. Building resilience and well-being for post-covid adolescents through outdoor adventure

ABSTRACT 21st Century Skills encompass life capabilities for individuals to work and prosper in complex environments. Resilience encapsulates positive behavioural adaptations acquired through optimised exposure to outdoor adventure education (OAE). This study examined the efficacy of one-week OAE residentials upon young people’s resilience, psychological well-being, and vocational skill development. Importantly, it identified OAE components which best cultivated their learning. Significant gains were reported in the resilience and well-being of 622 diverse adolescents across three timepoints. From below average baseline scores, resilience and well-being increased by 36% and 23% respectively. These increases were largely retained one month later. Camp-based experiences including mastering new skills, solving problems, and being inspired by nature predicted heightened resilience and well-being. These results supported the positive development of 21st Century Skills which promote individual and collective functioning and are protective of stress. Embodied challenges in real-world contexts enable vulnerable young people to re-adjust, grow, and persevere.
