Path of sustainable development of agricultural ecosystems in the context of digitalization

Digitalization provides new opportunities for determining the path of sustainable development of agricultural and ecological systems. The article attempts to consider the problems related to the emerging digital divide and the possibility of their leveling accompanying this process both at the international and national levels. Digital transformation is taking place not only in the technology sector and digital companies: its scale extends to all areas of the world economy. It was revealed that digital transformation, accompanied by the development of digital platforms, provides a more complete interaction of agricultural ecosystems with the digital world. Digital platforms have been identified to facilitate the integration of business, social and technological processes that form digital service ecosystems. The main reason for the expansion of the digital segment of agricultural ecosystems is the increase in the transactional sector. The creation of IT platforms based on the digitalization of production and technological processes, jobs; logistics, collaboration of agribusiness entities and public-private partners, consumers, competitors, investors, authorities has been proposed.

Reference Architecture and Agile Development Method for a Process-Driven Web Platform based on the BPMN-Standard and Process Engines

One of the major trends in the 21st century is the trend towards digital transformation within Industry 4.0. In order to adapt to high volatile market conditions, especially in the context of COVID-19, companies do not only have to transfer their knowledge into digital systems. Furthermore, they have to be able to tailor their business processes rapidly to changing customer’s needs. The implementation of efficient and transparent processes is thereby known as the process of digital transformation and requires its underlying software-architecture to be highly flexible and scalable. Especially a web-based platform represents a highly user-centered application for multi-user purposes and can quickly adapt to its customer needs. While e-commerce and video-streaming platforms, like eBay or Netflix, often already provide a highly flexible, microservice-based architecture, common tools and platforms within the engineering-domain are usually still based on rather monolithic or service-oriented architectures (SOA). Therefore, an adaption to changing market conditions and the integration of proprietary tools is often technically demanding and economically not feasible, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME). In this context, the so-called Process-Driven-Approach (PDA) offers a sustainable and tool-neutral blue-print for a system’s architecture strictly following the separations-of-concerns principle and allowing a user-centered layout. The PDA enables the integration of business processes and tools within an orchestrating framework, provided by a process engine. While the PDA within the engineering domain has been presented in a preceding paper, this paper supposes a reference architecture and agile development method for engineering-platforms via the PDA based on the BPMN-standard and process engines. These concepts are validated by a prototypical implementation of a platform-demonstrator for tool-supported planning of robot-based automation solutions.

Modeling the process of industrial enterprises innovative activity managing

Importance. At the present stage of economic development the requirements for the quality of indus- trial structures innovation management have increased as a basis for increasing competitiveness and ensuring high stability of functioning in conditions of instability and crisis. The State program «Scien- tific and technological development of the Russian Federation» identifies key areas for reforming do- mestic enterprises. First of all for its effective implementation it is necessary to modernize the current system of innovation management. The objective of this study is to justify the need to improve the industrial enterprises innovation ac- tivity through digital transformation of the innovation management system, operational management of information resources and the introduction of advanced production and IT technologies. Methods. The practice of researching the innovative activity of modern economic systems shows that it is advisable to consider the process of managing innovative activity from the standpoint of the sys- temic, process and functional approaches that implement the main attributes of cognition – analysis and synthesis. The research is based on modern works of leading domestic and foreign economists. Discussion of results. The formation of a model for the effective innovation process development is the basis for building up scientific knowledge and competitive potential. The active industrial enterpris- es position in the development of innovations creates a stable basis for building the Russian digital economy in accordance with world development trends. Changing conceptual approaches to the gener- ation and processing of large amounts of information will improve the quality of management decisions, the efficiency and effectiveness of innovation, create a flexible system for the industrial enterprises functioning in constantly changing market conditions and mitigate the negative impacts on their inno- vative restructuring. Conclusions and Relevance. The article proposes tools for a systematic solution to the innovation management problems through the use of functional modeling technology IDEF0. Here is presented an approach to modeling the innovation management process based on the structural analysis and design of SADT, based on the integration of digital technologies and business processes of enterprises from the perspective of key principles for the new economy development.

A Governance Model for Increasing the Positive Effects of Institutions on the Long Run Economic Growth

The main aim of this study is to critically analyze the effects of institutions on economic growth on the basis of a deeply literature review with a technological point of view. This study found that culture, traditions, tacit knowledge, openness to innovations are the outstanding points in new century and we assert that for increasing positive effects of institutions in the long term there should be a model for management and governance of business of institutions that is the whole economy in the digital macroeconomics. In the era of the upcoming industry 4.0, smart cities and e-government paradigms there should be integration of IT and business processes via a valid management and governance model. With the assumption that innovation digestion and cutting-edge IT capability of institutions have positive effect on their profitability and competency in the market, COBIT model is found to be a valid and sustainable framework for effective and efficient institutional set-ups that provide a sustainable platform for economic value creation cycle.

Innovative Technologies in the Management of Business Processes of Enterprises of Hotel-restaurant and Tourism Industries

The topicality. At the present stage of economic development, the search for modern methods and tools for managing business processes, based on the principles of adapting business processes to changing conditions, is becoming important in increasing the competitiveness of enterprises in the regions, constantly improving through the use of innovative technologies in their management. Service enterprises react very quickly to changes and new challenges, which are characterized by a significant level of dynamism, a variety of services offered on the market, and intense competition. Therefore, innovations are transformed into a decisive factor in determining new technologies for managing business processes of enterprises in the service sector of the regions (hotel and restaurant business, tourism and other types of economic activity).Purpose and methods. The aim of the study is theoretical and methodological substantiation of the prospects for the use of modern latest technologies for managing business processes of enterprises of hotel-restaurant and tourism industries of regions on the basis of a systematic approach aimed at ensuring competitive advantages in the market. Scientific methods: logic generalization and synthesis, mathematical and statistical, systematization and grouping.Results. Presentation of sequence of integrated business process management of hotel-restaurant and tourism enterprises of regions. Substantiation of the components of the business process management system of hotel-restaurant and tourism enterprises of regions and innovative tools for their provision.Conclusions and discussion. The scientific novelty of the results obtained lies in the substantiation of the prospects for the use of available modern technologies for managing business processes of hotel-restaurant and tourism enterprises of regions in order to ensure the main directions of effective business. Practical value – the possibility of applying a comprehensive model of business process management in hotel-restaurant and tourism enterprises of regions by using innovative technologies.

Analysis of Crude Palm Oil Supply Chain using Food Supply Chain Network (FSCN): A Case Study

Palm oil industry is one of the leading industrial sectors in Indonesia. In order to fulfill CPO demand as well as increasing of CPO sales, a research to analyse the supply chain flow of CPO was conducted. This research was conducted in ABC company, which is a privately owned business entity engaged in oil palm plantations located in South Tapanuli Regency, Indonesia. Analysis of supply chain had been done by using Food Supply Chain Network (FSCN) to define the integration of key business processes provided by original suppliers that provide products, services, and information from end users to customers and other stakeholders. Result of this research clearly defined the supply chain process with a clear flow of material, information and finance. The key process of CPO supply chain is the distribution of raw materials of CPO, namely fresh fruit bunches (FFB) which were collected from privately owned oil palm plantations and nearby community gardens, then processed in mills, deliver to storage tank, and export to customers. Analysis of this case study provided a clear description of CPO supply chain and may let further researchers to easily examine the potential risks at each stages and actors of CPO supply chain.

Agile manufacturing assessment model using multi-grade evaluation

In unpredicted industrial environment, being able to adapt quickly and effectively to the changing is key in gaining a competitive advantage in the global market. Agile manufacturing evolves new ways of running factories to react quickly and effectively to changing markets, driven by customized requirement. Agility in manufacturing can be successfully achieved via integration of information system, people, technologies, and business processes. This article presents the conceptual model of agility in three dimensions named: driving factor, enabling technologies and evaluation of agility in manufacturing system. The conceptual model was developed based on a review of the literature. Then, the paper demonstrates the agility evaluation by developing a multi-grade assessment model. This model can be used by decision maker to evaluate their current degree of agility. Lastly, the paper examined the conceptual model of evaluation in the State Company for Vegetable Oils Industry in Iraq. The calculation show that the State Company for Vegetable Oils Industry is very agile.

Problems of management in the system of spiral dynamics of supply chains

The article is devoted to the identification of logistics management problems that arise during the implementation of the process management concept of the spiral dynamics of supply chains. SCM, as a real system of logistics integration and coordination of business processes of the chain provides for the development of interaction and cooperation of its economic entities in the joint use of their resources. The spiral in its development changes the targets: increasing time intervals of forecasting and planning for the long term, the logistical lag of the spiral of the supply chain increases due to the focus on managing global innovation changes in society and changes in technological patterns. This requires appropriate coherence and restructuring of the cognitive and intellectual state of the climate in all sectors of the economy and their human systems. Analysis and generalization of modern research in the field of radical change management has allowed to determine the priority of detection and opportunities for preventive management of worldview changes, values and interests of individuals and their associations in human systems, organizations and society as a whole. The article substantiates the need and expediency of constant updating of the spiral of social thinking, synthesis of knowledge, ideas and intuition of all participants in the supply chain as a unified socio-economic system with a single ultimate goal - to meet the growing needs of consumers. The generalized requirements to spiral management of supply chains are formed and its basic functions and directions of administrative activity are defined. The specific conditions for ensuring the dynamics of the spiral worldview with the help of a set of MEMs specifically focused on supply chain management are considered. The classification of supply chain integration models was proposed, focused on the possibilities and the need to change its targets, forms and methods of management, time scales of operation.

A Research Study on the ERP System Implementation and Current Trends in ERP

The ERP archive found from long back years may be in 1970, and it had been initiated with the aim of business processes integration. The Gartner Group coined the name ERP, and it had implemented at the start of the year 1990. Software firms such as SAP had initiated to deploy ERP at the start of the 1990s. SAP further delivered the R/3 version in the year 1992. The SAP R/3 had been equipped with the addition of customer-server hardware construction to work on many stages at a time. The year 2000 had seen the solution over the problem of Y2K by all major ERP software system providers. Over the last 10 years, the ERP software market has to spread immensely with service providers are catering business-wide application with a complete range of application and functions.This paper tried to study the detailed ERP system implementation process and current trends in ERP software. Further, we found out some problems or gaps in an ERP system application process and tried to answer it with proposed solutions.We conclude this study as “an ERP system integrates all the functions in an organization like finance, marketing, manufacturing, and human resource with an advance real-time data collection, processing, and communication with very fast speed and allowing the organization for a quick decision on the real-time issues to control the complete business process day today.”

A New EU Challenge: Increase Supply Chain Management Performance by Internet of Things. A Study on Romanian Economy

Internet of Things (IoT) is a term used to express the new evolution of the Internet which brings major changes both to economy and society as well as in the business environment and indus-try, in which any physical or virtual object can be connected to other objects or people through the Internet. The usage of IoT technology in Supply Chain Management increase the overall performance and relationship between the supply chain members well as the relationship with the customers, competitors, and suppliers, facilitating the capture, transmission, and analysis of data, having a variety of applications. Our study aim is to analyze the performance factors that are influencing the adoption of Internet of Things technology in Supply Chain Management. In order to identify and examine the factors a quantitative research it’s conducted because it al-lows understanding the factors that characterize an organization and the relations between it and its members, factors that are contributing to better prosperity of the organization and to an increase of performance achieved through the chain, facilitating the integration of business processes between members.

ANALISIS DAN DESAIN PROSES BISNIS PERUSAHAAN DENGAN PENERAPAN BLUEPRINT DAN ASSESSMENT AS-IS VERSUS TO-BE (STUDY KASUS PADA SEBUAH PERUSAHAAN SWITCHGEAR DI BANTEN)

Financial reports that are always slow and inaccurate have a bad domino effect for the business, from starting prospective buyers to withdraw due to taking too long to get answers to inquiries, wrong selling prices due to incorrect recording costs, late incoming money due to late billing, and other internal operational constraints. Companies must immediately redesign the business processes, so they can operate more efficiently and increase productivity. Starting with setting clear objectives for the principles of change, followed by setting the intended Business Process Blueprint, and followed by a series of activities to identify the current process (As-Is) and define process objectives (To-Be), a new Business Process Design is obtained. reflects the flow of business processes that integrate all functions of the company. The integration of business processes has succeeded in making the process simpler with a focus on the flow of cash-in and cash-out processes as well as internal management which can be directly seen on the General Ledger to make it easier to make timely financial reports and correct costing costs and other important business decisions. IT management and change at an energy firm: A teaching case on strategic alignment and business process management

This teaching case illustrates how important concepts and tools of information system management practice and literature are used in a young firm, challenged by strong growth and the need to integrate business processes and information technology systems. The case is typical of many smaller organizations that are substantially different from large firms. Among others, the firm does not have a dedicated information technology unit. As most of our information technology management knowledge stems from research in large companies, the teaching case demonstrates and combines many proven information technology management methods, and how they can be applied in smaller firms as well. Students will learn about strategic alignment, business process management, work system theory, business process management, and notation, and user resistance during information technology-induced change projects in small- and medium-sized organizations.

How to Create E-Purchasing Based on Open ERP for Integrated Hospital Service System Using Quickstart Methodology

In this research, the researcher carries out the health Industry of public hospitals in Indonesia. One of the main processes in company business processes is the purchasing of goods. One of the problems in purchasing is the absence of the system that Integrates business processes between the Inventory Department and the Purchasing Department. Hence, interfere with daily operational in RSUD XYZ like due to notification’s update delay of the goods causes unavailability stock in the warehouse, so will affect the late purchase of goods at RSUD XYZ. Odoo is a software of Enterprise Resource Planning opensource used by various types of companies. Odoo provides solutions package for Purchase Management to overcome the problem in the company. The researcher used the QuickStart Methodology to implement ERP systems. Odoo implementation with QuickStart needs through five main stages. The result of this research is the design of a planning model for Enterprise Resource Planning system of purchasing in RSUD XYZ. Moreover, Odoo makes business processes in the RSUD XYZ can be automated with real-time information, this automation and real-time data will support the RSUD XYZ to make better decision in the future.

Research on Trans-Boundary Convergence of Different Service Chains in Health Service Ecosystem

With the aging of the population and the development of modern service industries, the health service ecosystem (HSE) is beginning to emerge. As a new form of healthcare industry in the Internet era, HSE has its inherent “social cyber” complexity: the source of healthcare service is social, and such sociality aggravates the diversity, uncertainty, and dynamics of service supply. This poses new challenges to the service matching between diverse supply and personalized requirements for aged persons. In order to meet this challenge, it is necessary to conduct the trans-boundary cooperation and integration between service chains in different domains, including business convergence, interface convergence and value convergence. This task is very difficult and there is currently no common method. In order to change such a situation, this paper proposes an interactive trans-boundary convergence method for health service ecosystem based on micro-service architecture. Firstly, the method confirms the value of service convergence, and then uses this as a driving force to achieve business process integration of different service chains. Then, the business coupling between different service chains is converted into asynchronous data communication to achieve interface convergence. Finally, the value assessment of service convergence is given to realize the value convergence. This method has been verified in the construction of National healthcare service platform for the elderly in China. The results demonstrate that our method has a substantial promise.

Designing Enterprise Architecture for Public Health Center Based on TOGAF Architecture Development Method

This study aims to build an integrated information system at the Curup Timur Health Center. Curup Timur Health Center does not yet have a Blueprint for designing integrated information systems. The method used to design architectural designs is based on the study of the TOGAF ADM literature. The steps applied in this design are the TOGAF ADM, including Preparation, Vision Architecture, Business Architecture, Information Systems Architecture, and Technology Architecture. This research produces a blueprint that will be used to support integrated business processes. The output from this stage will produce a company architecture that can later be used by organizations to support business processes and achieve their strategic goals. The conclusion of this study is that the company’s architecture design using TOGAF ADM can be used at the Curup Timur Health Center in accordance with the documents and processes that are running and can produce a blueprint of the company’s architecture at the east Curup Health Center which will improve overall health center services.

Implementing Benford’s law in continuous monitoring applications

Research Question: Do modern ERP systems record sufficient information to allow retrospective monitoring of accounts payable transactions? Can Benford’s Law be applied to these transactions to detect potential fraud in accounting data? Motivation: Modern ERP systems are capable of recording several thousands of transactions daily. This makes it difficult to find a few instances of anomalous activities among legitimate transactions. As organizations continue to become more complex and demand more integrated business processes, automated analytics may provide auditors and fraud examiners some degree of assurance on continuous information simultaneously with, or shortly after disclosure of information. Idea: In this study we develop a proof of concept prototype to monitor invoice transactions and identify those that violate Benford’s law. The prototype exploits audit trails in enterprise systems. Data: Data was obtained from the SAP ERP systems of two large organizations. Organization 1, a government department, provided a one month sample of accounting transaction data. Organization 2, a global manufacturing company, provided a six month sample of their transaction data. Tools: Verification and validation was achieved by obtaining independent reviews from an expert and a panel of auditing practitioners. Their feedback was sought using a survey instrument where they rated various aspects of the prototype software. Findings: A key aim was to demonstrate the feasibility of implementing Benford’s analysis in continuous monitoring applications by exploiting audit trails in ERP systems. The concept was demonstrated by designing prototype software. We found that Benford’s analysis, is a useful tool for identifying suspicious transactions. These transactions may contain possible errors, potential fraud or other irregularities. Contribution: An important contribution of the study is that the entire population of transactions for a specified time period are analyzed. This approach is in contrast with the traditional or manual audit approach which is limited because it reviews only a small percentage of a large population of transactions. The prototype demonstrates the application of technology and data analytics to process transaction data from a SAP ERP system in a near real-time basis. This represents the next step in the evolution of the financial audit from manual to automated methods.

Artificial intelligence and transformation of management

Subject. The article discusses how management transforms as artificial intelligence gets more important in governance, production and social life. Objectives. We identify and substantiate trends in management transformation as artificial intelligence evolves and gets more important in governance, production and social life. The article also provides our suggestions for management and training of managers dealing with artificial intelligence. Methods. The study employs methods of logic research, analysis and synthesis through the systems and creative approach, methodology of technological waves. Results. We analyzed the scope of management as is and found that threats and global challenges escalate due to the advent of artificial intelligence. We provide the rationale for recognizing the strategic culture as the self-organizing system of business process integration. We suggest and substantiate the concept of soft power with reference to strategic culture, which should be raised, inter alia, through the scientific school of conflict studies. We give our recommendations on how management and training of managers should be improved in dealing with artificial intelligence as it evolves. The novelty hereof is that we trace trends in management transformation as the role of artificial intelligence evolves and growth in governance, production and social life. Conclusions and Relevance. Generic solutions are not very effective for the Russian management practice during the transition to the sixth and seventh waves of innovation. Any programming product represents artificial intelligence, which simulates a personality very well, though unable to substitute a manager in motivating, governing and interacting with people.

A Conceptual Framework to Support Digital Transformation in Manufacturing Using an Integrated Business Process Management Approach

Digital transformation is no longer a future trend, as it has become a necessity for businesses to grow and remain competitive in the market. The fourth industrial revolution, called Industry 4.0, is at the heart of this transformation, and is supporting organizations in achieving benefits that were unthinkable a few years ago. The impact of Industry 4.0 enabling technologies in the manufacturing sector is undeniable, and their correct use offers benefits such as improved productivity and asset performance, reduced inefficiencies, lower production and maintenance costs, while enhancing system agility and flexibility. However, organizations have found the move towards digital transformation extremely challenging for several reasons, including a lack of standardized implementation protocols, emphasis on the introduction of new technologies without assessing their role within the business, the compartmentalization of digital initiatives from the rest of the business, and the large-scale implementation of digitalization without a realistic view of return on investment. To instill confidence and reduce the anxiety surrounding Industry 4.0 implementation in the manufacturing sector, this paper presents a conceptual framework based on business process management (BPM). The framework is informed by a content-centric literature review of Industry 4.0 technologies, its design principles, and BPM method. This integrated framework incorporates the factors that are often overlooked during digital transformation and presents a structured methodology that can be employed by manufacturing organizations to facilitate their transition towards Industry 4.0.

Public and private blockchain in construction business process and information integration

Blockchain as an emergent decentralized digital technology has been widely explored in many sectors to remedy the deficiencies of centralized solutions It has been recognized that blockchain technology has great potential to facilitate business activities spanning the whole life cycle of a building project in the construction industry, such as better communication or understanding, documents sharing, stage transition and quality endorsement. A comprehensive review of the literature regarding the application of blockchain in the construction domain found that there are few studies and applications of blockchain in construction practices, and most of the current research involves qualitative studies only. In this paper, we aim to explore the feasibility of applying both public blockchain and private blockchain technologies in the construction industry using two industry cases. Two business process cases (i.e., Case 1 and Case 2) were selected and used to drive the blockchain-based software system architecture design. The proposed architectures were demonstrated using Hyperledger Fabric (a private, permissioned and open source blockchain platform) and Ethereum (a public blockchain platform) respectively, to reflect the different requirements of the two use cases. This pilot study also illustrates the process, benefits, and challenges of adopting private and public blockchain technologies in construction domain. This research provides insights to researchers and practitioners regarding the adoption of blockchain technology, especially in construction industry.
