Business Model Transformation and Information Technology Use on the Quality of Accounting Information Systems in MSMEs in Indonesia

This research investigates the impact of business model transformation (BMT) and information technology utilization (ITU) on the quality of accounting information systems (QAIS) in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. A quantitative approach is employed, with data collected through a survey of MSMEs across various industries. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Squares (PLS) is used for data analysis. The findings reveal significant positive relationships between BMT, ITU, and QAIS. Business model transformation and IT utilization are found to significantly enhance the quality of accounting information systems in Indonesian MSMEs. These results highlight the importance of innovative business practices and effective technology adoption in improving financial management processes within MSMEs, providing valuable insights for practitioners, policymakers, and researchers.

THEORETICAL FRAMEWORKS SUPPORTING IT AND BUSINESS STRATEGY ALIGNMENT FOR SUSTAINED COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

In today's dynamic business environment, the alignment between information technology (IT) and business strategy is critical for organizations seeking sustained competitive advantage. This paper presents a comprehensive examination of theoretical frameworks supporting this alignment, aiming to provide insights into how organizations can effectively integrate IT capabilities with strategic objectives. The theoretical foundations explored include the Resource-Based View (RBV), which emphasizes leveraging unique resources and capabilities to achieve competitive advantage. Additionally, the Dynamic Capabilities Framework underscores the importance of an organization's ability to adapt and innovate in response to changing market conditions, highlighting the role of IT in facilitating agility and flexibility. The Strategic Alignment Model offers a structured approach to ensuring coherence between business strategy, IT strategy, and organizational infrastructure, enabling seamless integration and alignment. Value Chain Analysis provides a framework for understanding how IT can add value across different stages of the value chain, informing strategic decision-making and resource allocation. Moreover, IT Governance Frameworks, such as COBIT and ITIL, offer guidelines for effective management and governance of IT resources to support strategic objectives. Business Process Reengineering (BPR) is also examined as a methodology for redesigning business processes to align with strategic goals and leverage IT capabilities. Through an exploration of these theoretical frameworks, this paper aims to equip organizations with the knowledge and tools necessary to achieve sustained competitive advantage through the strategic alignment of IT and business strategies. Gaining an Understanding of DevOps from its Enablers to Its Impact on Performance

Despite these efforts' merit, academics have had trouble keeping up with the radical shifts in how software is created and supplied to clients. DevOps has revolutionized the way IT businesses are intended to operate as the result of years of hard effort and improvement to software delivery methods, techniques, and philosophies. Despite its widespread use and the positive effects, it has had on IT businesses' bottom lines, few people outside of the industry really understand what it is, how it operates, or if it can genuinely lead to better IT performance. This study provides a methodology that bridges the gap between these macro-level elements and the actual results of IT departments by focusing on the enabling components of DevOps, such as technological and management skills, and IT culture. Moreover, this study suggests the values of a perfect DevOps organization, which have a profound impact on IT Outcomes when they are in harmony with the firm's Delivery Approach. Information technology (IT) experts with prior DevOps experience were used to compile the survey results. In all, 176 American respondents provided their information. This alignment, in turn, has a substantial impact on IT Outcomes. This study adds not only to the growing body of literature on DevOps and software delivery, which is essential to the success of any IT firm, but also to the development of important underlying theory in these areas.

Acute care disruptions due to information technology failures in the Netherlands from 2000 to 2020

Background and aimHealthcare organizations are becoming increasingly dependent on Information technology (IT) for the provision of routine services. IT failures within hospital systems can impact acute patient care, including emergency department (ED) closure operating room (OR) stops.. The aim of this study is to gain insight into the impact of hospital IT failures in the Netherlands on acute care delivery and to provide recommendations for improved IT failure preparedness and hospital resilience during such an event. MethodsThis is a systematic scoping review of major acute care disruptions in Dutch hospitals between 2000 and 2020. Incidence of etiology, duration, ED diversion, and closure of multiple locations was evaluated. IT failures were included when associated with the closure of hospital departments and/or evacuations. ResultsThirty-nine IT failures resulting in acute care disruption were identified. The majority occurred between 2010 and 2020 (n = 37, 95 %). Of the 39 events, 33 (85 %) were primary IT failures and were mainly caused by computer network and/or hospital software failure. Secondary events predominantly resulted from power failure. Most events (n = 36, 92 %) were resolved within minutes to hours. All events were associated with an ED closure, 27 (69 %) with an operating room (OR) stop and two (5 %) with external hospital evacuation of one or more patients. Furthermore, 17 incidents (44 %) involved multiple hospital locations, and seven (41 %) of these involved closure of multiple locations with an ED. ConclusionThe impact of IT failures on acute care disruptions in the Netherlands has considerably increased since 2010. This stresses the urge to improve IT security and business continuity in today's hospitals.

A Study on Employee Job Satisfaction in IT Industry in Bangalore

Purpose: The effect of employee job satisfaction on organizational performance in large and medium-sized information technology businesses is empirically investigated in this research. It states that enhanced organizational performance depends on employee job satisfaction. According to the research, a worker who has a high level of job satisfaction has a favorable attitude toward his work. An employee who is unhappy at work, on the other hand, has unfavorable attitudes toward the position. Design/Methodology/Approach: The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational performance, to ascertain whether there is an empirically verifiable relationship between these two variables, and to determine the strength and direction of that relationship among employees working in Bangalore's information technology (IT) industry. A research sample of 100 employees from IT businesses was used for empirical analysis. Findings/Result: The findings of this research demonstrate a strong but relatively weak relationship between organizational success and employee job satisfaction in both directions. The research came to the conclusion that work happiness influences organizational performance rather than the other way around. Also, SWOT analysis is used to find the strengths and weaknesses of IT Company. Originality/Value: This paper significantly advances our understanding of the relationship between job satisfaction and job performance as well as the effects of job satisfaction on employee job performance. ANALISIS PERANCANGAN ARSITEKTUR ENTERPRISE DINAS PETERNAKAN MENGGUNAKAN TOGAF ADM 9.2 (STUDI KASUS: FUNGSI VAKSINASI HEWAN PADA DINAS PETERNAKAN BANDUNG BARAT)

This study analyzes and plans an enterprise architecture for the animal vaccination function at the Department of Fisheries and Animal Husbandry of West Bandung Regency. Animal vaccination is a crucial step in maintaining health and protecting animal populations from diseases. The author employs the TOGAF ADM (The Open Group Architecture Framework - Architecture Development Method) approach to analyze the animal vaccination process and identify necessary improvements. The vaccination steps, workflow, and responsibilities of various stakeholders are evaluated using the TOGAF ADM. Stages such as defining business architecture, data, applications, and information technology are applied in this analysis. The current information technology infrastructure is also analyzed to identify the suitable needs of the enterprise architecture. The results are expected to provide recommendations for improving the animal vaccination process at the Department of Fisheries and Animal Husbandry of West Bandung Regency. With an enterprise architecture based on TOGAF ADM, it is anticipated that the efficiency of animal vaccination implementation can be enhanced. These recommendations can serve as a guide for similar institutions in optimizing the animal vaccination process. In other words, this research bridges the theory of enterprise architecture with practical applications in the context of animal vaccination, yielding potential solutions to enhance process efficiency and effectiveness.

Application of artificial intelligence on human resource management in information technolgy industry in India

Artificial Intelligence is a term for a technology that is used to do a job that needs intelligence. It is a technology designed to do what a person could do. Today’s organizations have changed a lot because of Artificial Intelligence. Not just one part of the organization but all of its functions and how it affects human resource management must be looked at separately, especially since this is where most people work. This study looks into how artificial intelligence can handle human resources in India’s IT (Information Technology) business. This study looks at what makes AI-driven HRM practices in the Indian IT business work the way they do. The researcher has collected secondary sources like journal articles, study papers, dissertations, and reports from different IT companies related to AI in HR. Information is gathered from individuals who work in IT organizations’ human resources offices. The results show that Artificial Intelligence is young regarding recruitment, and only a few companies use it for human resource management. The main benefits of AI are speed, quality, and the removal of routine jobs. On the other hand, the biggest problem is that businesses are only sometimes ready for new technologies.

Workshop Membangun Perusahaan Perseorangan Untuk Usaha Bidang IT Untuk Mahasiswa Semester Akhir Universitas Bhayangkara Jakarta Raya

The community service activity entitled "Workshop on Building Individual Companies for Businesses in the IT Sector for Final Semester Students at Bhayangkara University, Jakarta Raya" is a real effort to increase the knowledge and skills of final semester students in planning and managing individual companies in the Information Technology (IT) sector. This workshop aims to provide practical guidance in starting an IT company, introduce the legal aspects of IT business, and invite students to apply their knowledge in real situations. This activity covers various relevant topics, such as business planning, IT product development, financial management, marketing strategy, and legal aspects related to IT business. In addition, the workshop also involved experienced IT practitioners and entrepreneurs as guest speakers, who provided invaluable practical insights. The results of this workshop reflect an increase in participants' understanding and skills in planning and starting an IT business. Participants have a better understanding of the process of registering a private company online via the AHU website and the importance of registering for a Kemenkumham permit. This workshop not only improves conceptual understanding, but also provides practical skills that can be applied in the real world. Thus, this workshop has a positive impact on the development of entrepreneurship among final semester students at Bhayangkara University, Jakarta Raya. Furthermore, sustainability evaluations and follow-up steps are needed to ensure that the knowledge and skills acquired remain sustainable and support students in their efforts to become entrepreneurs in the IT industry.

Accrual and Cash Financial Performance of Information Technology Companies During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Abstract Research background Many companies have experienced a significant impact on their financial performance due to the pandemic period. The effects were mostly negative as a result of by due to the various restrictions that were put in place to limit direct contact among people and restrict mobility during the pandemic. As a result, online contacts increased, therefore, we decided to ask the following research question: Did the performance of Information Technology companies increase during the COVID-19 pandemic? Purpose The aim of the research was to examine the financial performance of Information Technology businesses from 2018 to 2021. In the article, a ratio analysis was conducted using the bi-annual financial data of IT companies. Research methodology The analysis included data accrual and cash results. The objective of the investigation was to assess the economic status of Information Technology firms, utilizing various analytical tools such as ratio analysis. Descriptive statistical methods were also employed to provide an overview of the findings. Furthermore, logit and discriminant models were utilized to summarize the financial outcomes. Results Based on the findings of the study that examined the financial status of Information Technology firms before and during the COVID-19 pandemic, it appears that these companies were able to maintain or improve their financial status during the pandemic, which goes against the general trend observed in the economy. Novelty Our examination of Information Technology firms’ bi-annual accrual and cash financial outcomes amid the COVID-19 pandemic is unique due to the macroeconomic element – the epidemic at such a scale had not taken place in many years of the Polish market economy.

Critical Analysis of Innovative Leadership through Effective Data Analytics: Exploring Trends in Business Analysis, Finance, Marketing, and Information Technology

Globally, leaders are lighthouses that help direct followers on the right decision to make, whether in careers, entrepreneurship, personal development, education, community and social services, relationships, health, finances, and enacting purpose. In today's data-driven environment characterized by information overload, leaders and organizations seek to harness the full potential of data to improve every facet of endeavor, including leadership; thus, leaders in management and other spheres of human endeavors must rethink leadership methods in line with data analytics. This research investigates the synergistic relationship between innovative leadership and effective data analytics in organizations across different industries. The study assesses the impact of data analysis, visualization, and governance on various aspects of innovative leadership. Structured questionnaires designed using Likert scale questions and statements were used as research instruments to collect data from 490 leaders across five industries, including Accounting and Finance, Marketing, Computer and IT, Business Development, and Education. Statistical analysis, including correlation and linear regression, examined the relationships between data analytics and innovative leadership variables. The research findings support the hypotheses, demonstrating that data Analysis Influences Innovative Behavior in leadership; data Analysis is significantly and positively related to Vision and Strategic Planning; data Visualization significantly impacts Communication Skills in leadership positively; Data Visualization significantly influences Vision and Strategic Planning in leadership positively; while a positive relationship exists between Effective Data Governance and Innovative Behavior. Data analytics is critical in achieving innovative leadership and improving organizational performance. Data analysis, visualization, and governance were essential in driving innovation and fostering clear communication. The paper recommends the promotion of a culture of collaboration and open communication, investment in employee training for data analytics skills, and encouraging innovative thinking through data-driven problem-solving strategies. The research offers a foundation for further investigations into industry-specific nuances and external factors influencing the collaboration between data analytics and innovative leadership.

Social Media Engagement, Organizational Agility and Digitalization Strategic Plan to Improve SMEs’ Performance

Sustainability in the post pandemic era is very challenging. Every business entity including small medium enterprises (SMEs) needs a more valuable strategy to adapt to dramatic changes, such as strengthening digitization to improve SME performance. The industrial revolution 4.0 confirms digitalization as a strategic plan for SMEs in realizing a digital-based work culture. Digital skills are one of the skills to maximize the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in business. As an illustration, using social media to build brand reputation, promote and interact with customers. We also believe that digitalization can make SMEs more agile, as they are more adaptive to all changes and pressures from the external environment. This article aims to describe and analyze models for improving the performance of SMEs through agility, social media, and digitalization-based strategic planning. Data were collected from 239 SMEs in creative industry. The data were analyzed using SmartPLS analysis. The results showed that digital skills can increase the use of ICT, social media engagement, and organizational agility in SMEs. This article provides practical insights for SMEs to be more sustainable and competitive in the future.

Improvement of outpatient service processes: a case study of the university of Hong Kong-Shenzhen hospital

PurposeThis work presents a case study of the University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital (HKU-SZH), which was the first to implement an outpatient appointments registration system. The research question is to determine which factors influence patient satisfaction most.MethodsThe study provides an anatomy of the hospital outpatient process through various methods and theories, including a literature review, field research, expert consultation, business process improvement (BPI) theory and information technology, with the aim of identifying the objectives and strategies of the hospital for improving its outpatient process. A quantitative analysis was performed using a questionnaire survey to identify the defects and weaknesses of the current model. The principles, methods and techniques of BPI theory are used to analyse various problems existing in the outpatient process and the extent of their influence. A structural equation model has been established for scientific and quantitative analysis, which can help identify the goals of optimization and measure improvement in the outpatient process and patient satisfaction.ResultsIt was determined the source of inefficiency of the current outpatient service process. By means of outpatient process improvement, the study aims to increase the hospital’s efficiency and raise the level of patient satisfaction so that it may enhance its comprehensive competence. In addition, an effective and operable methodology will be generated, which is expected to serve as a reference for other hospitals to improve their operation and management.ConclusionsIt was found that service attitude, service value and waiting time have a significant influence on patient satisfaction.

Business Resilience and Quality of Life of Timber Smes During the COVID-19 Pandemic in Bandung Regency

Business ethics of small and medium enterprises in the wood industry based on local wisdom in rural areas, the importance of spiritual behavior, external support and the development of information technology are Important studies affecting business resilience and quality of life of small and medium-sized enterprises in the wood industry during the Covid-19 pandemic in Badung. A Tracer Study of Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management Graduates of AIMS Batch 2015–2020

In the recent findings of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), “the four-year collegiate programs of Business Administration, Information Technology, Hotel and Restaurant Management and Electronics Engineering indicated a mismatch with the industry requirements (Flores, 2013). Taking this into consideration, CHED further integrated in their “Strategic Plan for 2011 – 2016” some programs, activities, and projects that would address the mismatch while the CHED Strategic Plan for 2017-2022 (2017) aims to produce higher education graduates who are competent and well-rounded global citizens who possess the intrapersonal, interpersonal, social and cognitive competencies and attributes necessary to lead, excel and compete in the 21st century. The above endeavors coincided with the study’s objective to trace the present employment status of Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management (BSHRM) graduates of the Asian Institute of Maritime Studies (AIMS) from school year 2015 to 2020. Descriptive-survey method was used in determining the personal and employment profiles of the HRM graduates, the rate of contribution of the AIMS-BSHRM program, and the concerns and other considerations on their current job. Sixty-two (62) graduates of Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management of Asian Institute of Maritime Studies who graduated from school year 2015 to 2020 have responded to the tracer questionnaire. To analyze the data, frequency count, percentage, and weighted mean were used. Results revealed that majority of the respondents were able to successfully find a job in less than a year. However, because of family concerns, lack of connection, health concerns and even lack of work experience, the HRM graduates landed in a job that is not related to their program of study. Some have decided to put up their own businesses while some decided to work in the BPO industry and have been there for a few years already. Though the respondents are satisfied on their present employment, most of them are still planning to change careers and shift a job related to their program. On the other hand, the top three (3) skills that AIMS helped develop among the graduates are: a) Human Relation Skills (82.26%); b) Communication Skills (74.19%); c) Initiative (53.23%) while the top three values acquired and developed from studying at AIMS are: a) Integrity (82.26%); b) Achievement (77.42%); and c) Respect for Others (75.81%). On the other hand, the competencies/skills they recommend AIMS to develop include: a) Strategy and Innovation (87.10%); b) Teamwork (79.03%); and c) Human Relation Skills (51.61%). Based on the results, it is recommended that the administrators and curriculum developers of the BSHM program of AIMS to revisit the current curriculum and syllabi used in major courses and make sure that there are topics and activities that will help enhance and develop the students’ creativity, strategy and innovation. It also recommended that the HM Department of AIMS continue to organize events that will give students additional knowledge and experience that will enhance their interpersonal and human relation skills.

METHODS AND TOOLS OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT IN RELATION TO IS DEVELOPMENT PROCESSES

The article discusses an information system that allows optimizing business processes and IT processes through automation using project management tools and designed to integrate existing subsystems. Special tools are used to design any technologically complex system. An architect draws up a project plan, an engineer draws up a detail drawing. A business is also a complex system with many connections, objects and interactions. To build a business architecture, special business modeling systems are used, one of which is the Fox Manager BPA program. In order to solve problems systematically, rather than intuitively, it is necessary to design the architecture of the business, prescribe rules and standards of work, distribute responsibility for functions among the staff and monitor their implementation. An information system for decision support using heterogeneous spatial data to optimize the company's management process is presented. The methodology proposed for the verification of IP is used for the first time in the systems under study. The article also presents studies of topical issues in the field of information technology in the field of telecommunications. In modern conditions, information technology (IT) in companies is present as a necessary attribute of technology for managing the process of production of goods and services, economic analysis and management decision-making. Currently, IT is used in many areas of management activity, and is increasingly becoming an important factor and means of solving numerous management tasks. Determinants of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Sustainable Development in Africa

Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) accelerate economic growth by creating new products and services; they stimulate new employment, which ultimately results in the acceleration of sustainable economic development in Africa. So, public policy that encourages and supports entrepreneurship and MSMEs’ sustainable development should be considered important for the economic growth of Africa. The purpose of this study was to examine factors contributing to the sustainable development of MSMEs in Africa. In order to achieve this objective, the researchers have used a correlational research design and quantitative research approach in which six hypotheses have been tested. Both primary data were collected from 340 MSMEs operating in Africa through survey questionnaires. Both descriptive and inferential statistics have been used to analyze the data. According to the regression analysis, this study revealed that access to finance, infrastructure, and institutional cooperation, access to business information, government support, and information technology utilization led to Micro, small and medium enterprises’ sustainable development in Africa. Based on the findings of the study, a recommendation was forwarded to the concerned bodies who are responsible for improving the sustainability of Micro, small, and medium enterprises in Africa while working on those variables contributing to the MSMEs’ sustainable development.
