In 2022, a Mongolian-Russian expedition conducted a study of Mongolian burials at the Yashil site (territory of Orkhontuul somon of Selenge aimag of Mongolia). As a result, three burial mounds were excavated on the western edge of Yashil Mountain near the confluence of the Orkhon and Tuul rivers. It was established that two of them contain burials of adults and one burial of a child. The burial of the child was disturbed due to robbery. In the other graves the original position of the dead was preserved. The stone embankment of all the mounds had an oval shape. Only one person was in each grave. The orientation of the heads to the northeast, east and southeast was recorded. The tibia bones of small cattle were found during excavations in the barrows. The main characteristics of the burial rites reflect the traditions of the medieval Mongols. The dating of the investigated objects was determined by the finds.
