Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Project Based Learning Berbantuan Media Prezi terhadap Keterampilan Menulis Teks Biografi Siswa Kelas X SMAN 1 Batipuh

One important aspect of Indonesian language learning is the development of writing skills. Writing skills can be taught through Indonesian language learning because of the independent curriculum, especially on biography texts. Efforts to improve student writing learning outcomes by choosing a learning model in the form of a project-based learning model . The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the project-based learning model on the writing skills of biographical texts of SMA Negeri 1 Batipuh class students. The method used in this research is quantitative method by using quasi experimental research. The sample used was selected based on purposive sampling technique. The sample in this study amounted to 60 students. The data in this study are in the form of scores converted from scores based on two tests of biography text writing skills on the sample.Based on data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded three things First, students' biography text writing skills without using the project-based learning model obtained an average of 74.87 with LDC qualifications (More than Sufficient) Second, students' biography text writing skills using the project-based learning model obtained an average of 83.47 with Good (B) qualifications. Third, the use of project-based learning model affects the biography text writing skills of students in class X SMA Negeri 1 Batipuh with a level of 95%.

Understanding literacy as human practice: exploring stories about (people like) us

ABSTRACT This paper examines literacy as a sociocultural, personal and human practice dependent on and derived through relationships between people, settings and culture. Drawing on a recent empirical research study that combines learner, teacher and author perspectives [Curtin (2023) Reading and Writing Pathways Through Children’s and Young Adult Literature: Exploring Literacy, Identity and Story with Authors and Readers. Routledge], I explore how children’s literature may be used to develop meaningful and authentic literacy pedagogies in the primary classroom. The research methodology for this study employed interviews with sixteen international and award-winning children’s literature authors. This paper presents one author's interview from the study in detail in an effort to illustrate the importance of identity and personal resonance in literacy learning. Project Based Learning with Flipbook Media: Discourse Analysis Approach in Learning Biographical Texts

Biographical texts are material in the Indonesian language subject for class However, in this learning process, problems are still found in learning components such as curriculum, objectives, materials, strategies, methods and learning evaluation so that learning objectives are not achieved. The aim of this research is to find out the process, form, validity and effectiveness of developing biographical text teaching materials in improving students' ability to analyze biographical text discourse. The method used is research and development. The results of the development of teaching materials were obtained by a development process using the define, design and develop model. The form of developing teaching materials from textbooks into interactive flipbook teaching materials with a project based learning model. The material expert validation results were 90% and the media expert validation results were 85% in the very valid category. The learning results showed that 0 students or 0% got the predicate D (grades 60-69). There were 5 students who received a C predicate (grades 70-79) or 25% and 10 students who received a B predicate (80-89) or 50% and 5 students who received an A predicate (90-100) or 25%. From the validation results and student learning outcomes, the teaching materials were declared valid and effective.

In Italy and France in the mid-16th century, a novel trend arose to collect “portraits” of famous people and write elogies and biographies based on them, with authors such as Paolo Giovio and Giorgio Vasari in Italy and André Thevet in France as prime examples. The portraits of this period broke away from medieval stereotypes and sought to depict individuals realistically while revealing their inner characteristics through their outward appearance. In the second half of 16th century, French readers were interested not only in the experiences of overseas colonization but also in politics and the military matters, due to the religious conflicts and political turmoil during the French Wars of Religion. The biography written by André Thevet, Les Vrais Pourtraicts et vies des hommes illustres, grecs, latins et payens, published in 1584 reflects the historical context of this period. In particular, Book VIII of Thevet’s work is devoted to biographies of pagan celebrities from Asia, Africa, the Americas, as wells Europe. Among them, Tamerlane (Amir Timur), is the unique historical figure from the Tatars. His portrait and biographical text reveal the complex ambivalence of fear and reverence that Renaissance Europeans held toward him. Additionally, Tamerlane’s biography exemplifies Renaissance Orientalism and humanistic interests in exotic ethnicities, geography and language.

Feasibility and Effectiveness of the Results of the Development of a Teaching Module for Writing Biographical Texts Based on Project Based Learning

The teaching module for writing biographical texts made by teachers at SMK Negeri 3 Kota Bengkulu is still not student-centered, making it difficult for students to write biographical texts. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a teaching module for writing biographical texts based on project-based learning. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to develop a teaching module for writing biographical texts based on project-based learning that is feasible and effective for use by teachers and students. This type of research was Research and Development model ADDIE with the following stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection techniques in this study used documentation techniques, interviews, questionnaires, observations, and test techniques. The results of the study showed that the teaching module needed by teachers and students is a learning activity based on project-based learning. The design developed in this study consists of three important components, namely learning objectives, learning activities, and assessments. The characteristics of the development of this teaching module are at the project-based learning stage starting from determining basic questions, compiling project planning, compiling project schedules, implementing and monitoring projects, assessing project results, and evaluating experiences. The teaching module has been implemented and the results are effective to use with the results of the t-test value tcount>ttable, namely 20.66>1.68 with a Sig. value (2-tailed) of 0.001<0.05.

Implementation of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) Approach through Differentiated Learning on Biographical Text Material at SMA Negeri 1 Mataram

The aim of this research is to find out how to implement the Teaching at The Right Level (TaRL) approach through differentiated learning on Biographical Text material at SMA Negeri 1 Mataram which is integrated with the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum. There are several objectives for implementing differentiated learning, including: 1) meeting the individual needs of students; 2) increase student achievement; 3) increase students' motivation and interest in learning; 4) develop social and collaborative skills; 5) increase students' self-esteem; and 6) increasing student involvement. The application of differentiated learning places the teacher as a facilitator who helps students meet their needs. In differentiated learning, the teacher provides an understanding of the material by paying attention to the level of readiness, interests and learning styles of students. Apart from that, teachers can also make modifications to lesson content, learning processes, products or results of the lessons taught, and the learning environment.

Development of Infographic Based Biographical Text Teaching Materials with QR Code Assistance for Class X SMA Students

Indonesian language learning at SMA Negeri 1 Blitar for biographical text material has not been carried out well due to the use of teaching materials that have not been varied. Teaching materials for biographical text material need to be developed to support the implementation of learning activities. The development of biographical text teaching materials based on infographics with the help of QR codes for class The aim of this research is to (1) describe the needs analysis, (2) describe the development process, and (3) describe the feasibility of product development for infographic teaching materials assisted by QR code biographical text material for class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Blitar. This teaching material was developed based on the Borg & Gall development model which consists of three stages, namely 1) needs analysis as a preliminary study, 2) product development, and 3) feasibility test of the final product. The validity of the product being developed can be determined through material expert validation and media expert validation activities. The validation results show that the biographical text teaching material product based on QR code-assisted infographics for class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Blitar is very suitable for use in the learning process.

BULGARIAN LITERARY POETICS AND STYLISTICS IN THE PERIOD 1970 - 2020

This article is a fragment of a larger study, which is intended to be a chapter of a collective monograph with the working title “Bulgarian Literary Studies – History, Poetics, and Stylistics during the Past Half-Century”. The time span covers the decades fom 1970 to 2020, and the methodology of the ambitious review includes descriptive, but also theoretical-judgmental and critical discourse. Initially the target audience of the volume was the foreign reader, for whom the Bulgarian literary studies are outlined against the background of the large Slavic family of literary schools. However, our claims are that it would be interesting and useful to the Bulgarian reader as well. The article offers a brief overview of the development and state of Bulgarian literary and theoretical thought in the last five decades. It traces the schools, conceptual ideas, and traditions in the study of literature over the ambitious period of half a century, including biographical texts by literary theorists and specialists in literary poetics and stylistics. Specific analyses of Bulgarian and world literary classics are also provided, illustrating the directions and trends in the development of Bulgarian literary and academic thought. The main representatives of several generations of literary theorists, known not only in Bulgaria, but also in Europe and the world, have been selected. The tangible results are outlined, as well as the perspectives in the development of literary theory in Bulgaria and, in general, the future of literary poetics and stylistics in the world of new media and changed receptive and creative realities.

Proteus (Proteus)

Beginning with his botanical epiphany in Sicily in 1787, Goethe turned to the ancient Greek sea god Proteus as a key figure for imagining natural metamorphosis. “Proteus” is perhaps a surprising term for a lexicon of philosophical concepts. Its connection to symbol, myth, and what Hegel would call representational thinking (Vorstellungsdenken) contrasts with more overtly abstract terms of philosophy. Yet for the unorthodox thinker, Goethe, who consistently straddled the line between literature and philosophy, the boundaries between symbolic representation and speculative abstraction were often porous. Nowhere is this more evident than in his theory of metamorphosis, which was developed throughout his life in an aggregate of scientific, poetic, and biographical texts. The lexeme “Proteus,” as Goethe used it, grows out of and defines this uniquely interdisciplinary thinking. Itself a deeply protean concept in his oeuvre, it gives occasion to consider the mutually productive relationship between philosophy, literature, and life within the broader constellation of Goethe’s thought. In this entry, I situate Goethe’s “protean” model of metamorphosis vis-à-vis his engagement with maritime environments and literature, specifically Homer’s Odyssey, during the period of the Italian journey (1786-1788). As a symbol, I argue, Proteus played an especially important role in Goethe’s dynamic reconception of natural forms as well as his rebuttal to the “terrestrially biased” imagery of Carl Linnaeus, who construed the formal characteristics of plants through metaphors of geographical enclosure. Additionally, I consider how Goethe’s “protean” botany informed his theory of natural types (Typen) and prepared his theory and practice of science as “zarte Empirie” (WA IV/45:11; delicate empiricism). By reading the mythical figure of Proteus back into the adjective “protean,” which is used to characterize Goethe’s view of nature in his scientific and poetic writings, we can uncover a uniquely Goethean conception of metamorphosis and creativity.

Efektivitas Model Core dalam Pembelajaran Menulis Teks Biografi dalam Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Kelas X di SMK

Knowing the effectiveness of the CORE model in learning to write Indonesian biographical texts for class X Karangpucung Darussalam Vocational School is the aim of this research. The type used in this research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. The sampling technique is random sampling technique. Class X TKR 1 as the experimental class and class X TBSM 1 as the control class. In this analysis the data collection method is the experimental method. The results of the t-test assume that if t_count > t_table is 5.312 > 2.021 and the significance value is 0.05 then H_a will be accepted. The purpose of these results is to conclude that there is a significant difference between the post-test performance data for the experimental class and the control class. Therefore, this model has proven to be effective in writing biographical texts in class X at Karangpucung Darussalam Vocational School.

Adapting support vector optimisation algorithms to textual gender classification

In this paper, we focus on the problem of determining the gender of the person described in a biographical text. Since support vector machine classifiers are well suited for text classification tasks, we present a new stopping criterion for support vector optimisation algorithms tailored to this problem. This new approach exploits the geometric properties of the vector representation of such content. An experiment on a set of English and Spanish biographical articles retrieved from Wikipedia illustrates this approach and compares it to other machine learning classification algorithms. The proposed method allows real-time classification algorithm training. Moreover, these results confirm the advantage of leveraging additional gender information in strongly inflected languages, like Spanish, for this task.

Tracking the Creativity of Autobiography and Biography Text Through Poster Media for Higher Education

This research aims to analyze students' creativity in writing autobiography and biography texts in Arabic using poster media in higher education. Researchers used a qualitative approach with a case study method on 35 students. Data collection techniques used interviews, documentation and observation in Arabic writing skills learning activities, while the data analysis techniques used included triangulation of data sources identified through three stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The research results show that: 1) Student creativity in writing autobiographical and biographical texts using posters is more varied with the choice of colors, images and identification of introductory texts, experiences and life learning; 2) the sentence structure used consists of five structures, namely the structure of verbs, nouns, adverbial attributes, properties and prepositions. Research findings show that the use of poster media in learning writing skills is able to develop creativity and a variety of sentence structures. This research is limited to only two texts, so the researcher recommends further research to analyze a variety of other texts using poster media and more varied research methods

Valda Rūmnieka un Andreja Miglas romāni latviešu biogrāfiskās literatūras kontekstā

The article evaluates the biographical novels of the creative tandem of Valdis Rūmnieks (b. 1951) and Andrejs Migla (1940–2021) about the poet Aleksandrs Čaks (“Čaks”, 2010) and the sculptor Kārlis Zāle (“Trīs zvaigznes” ‘Three Stars’, 2013). Both novels are viewed in the context of the history of Latvian biographical novels and contemporary trends in biographical literature. The article aims to reveal the peculiarities of the biographical novels created in cooperation by the two authors and clarify the connections between traditional and new approaches. An attempt was made to classify biographical texts of different natures (documental, scientific and popular scientific biographies, and fictional biographical texts in diverse variations). The biographical novels of Rūmnieks and Migla are evaluated as works based on objective facts, where the creative imagination of authors also plays an important role, and episodes of hypothetical possibilities also have their place. The scenes of private and public life are interwoven in the narrative of both novels, marking the coordinates of the events of various historical periods and broadly expanding the contexts of cultural-historical processes. In the novel “Čaks”, the authors have experimented with the composition of the text, creating a particular form of acrostic novel. In the structure of their narrative, the authors have integrated the characteristic style elements of the poet Čaks, the characteristic texture and the artistic methods of his expression. The novels of Rūmnieks and Migla can be recognised as culturally significant and artistically interesting examples of Latvian biographical novels of the 21st century. The research used a combined methodology, cultural historical and biographical methods, and elements of literary mapping, marking the coordinates of the artistic expanse of the novels’ characters.

The Effect of the Think, Talk, Write Type Cooperative Learning Model towards Skill of Writing Biographical Text for High School Students

This study aims to determine the effect of the think, talk, write (TTW) learning model on the writing skills of the tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Mamplam. This study uses a quantitative approach with the type of research Quasi Experimental Design using a pretest post-test control group design control design. The population in this study were all students of class X SMA Negeri 1 The population in this study were all students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Mamplam totaling 91 students. The sample in this study was obtained using the purposive sampling technique, while the sample in this study amounted to 43 students consisting of class X IPA 2 students who were given learning using the conventional model and class X IPS using the TTW learning model. The results of the analysis with the t-test pre-test and post-test experimental class showed a t-value of -16.554 and sig. 0.000. The value of sig states < 0.05 then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference from writing a biography of the experimental class using the TTW learning model. Then the results of the calculation of the t-test pre-test and post-test of the control class showed that t was -8.062 and sig. 0.000 and sig states <0.05 then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference from writing from a control class on biographical text and TTW learning model has an effect on the ability to write biographies of students at SMA Negeri 1 Simpang Mamplam.

Leben erzählen: Stefan Zweigs biographisches Erzählen und sein Leben als Gegenstand biographischer Repräsentation

This essay examines the narratological and semantic implications of Stefan Zweig’s biographical narration, demonstrating how the biographical texts and the fictional narratives differ in the degree to which they represent the complexity of the narrated life. This applies in a similar way to biographical literature about Stefan Zweig, which appears in different genres and media in the late modern age. The unifying focus of this essay is the mediality of narration, which draws attention to the given media-aesthetic peculiarities in each case and in sum clarifies the biographical complexity that relates to the narration of life in modernity.

Russian Symbolism in Italian Studies (1994-2022)

This paper provides a survey of Italian critical studies on Russian Symbolism and its reception in Italy over the last thirty years (1994-2022). The paper reconstructs the evolution of this tradition through the analysis of three main streams: 1. works on literary theory and philosophy 2. the study of the ‘Italian’ text on the basis mainly of archival documents and biographical texts, and 3. the study, based on comparisons and parallels with other literary movements, of Russian Symbolism as a supracultural and supranational movement. In the final part, the paper proposes an overview of current research perspectives on the topic.

Effect of "Learn English" Podcast on Students' Listening Skill of Biography Text at Eleventh Grade of SMKS YPSEI Palangka Raya

This research was conducted to find out the effect of “Learn English” podcast on students’ listening skill of biography text at the eleventh grade of SMKS YPSEI Palangka Raya. “Learn English” podcast is an application provided by the British Council and this application has so many advantages. This research used a pre-experimental design with one-group pre-test and post-test design. The researcher chose XI OTKP and XI TB class of SMKS YPSEI Palangka Raya as the research sample utilizing purposive sampling. The researcher applied multiple choice and short answer test as the instrument for data collection. The obtained data were then analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test in SPSS version 22 at a significance level of 5% (0.05). The result showed that the Sig. (2 tailed) = 0,001 < 0,05. As a result of Ha was accepted. To summarize, podcasts are an effective medium for teaching listening to students in the eleventh grade at SMKS YPSEI Palangka Raya. However, when implementing the media, a teacher must consider the students' listening habits. By taking into account the students' level of listening habit, a teacher can properly select the medium used to teach listening in order to increase the students' listening talent.

PENERAPAN MODEL PROBLEM BASSED LEARNING (PBL) DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MENGANALISIS TEKS BIOGRAFI PADA PESERTA DIDIK KELAS X SMK NEGERI 1 KAPETAKAN KABUPATEN CIREBON TAHUN AJARAN 2022/2023

This study is motivated by the students' low ability to analyze biography texts and their lack of motivation, which leads to their reluctance to complete learning tasks. One effective learning model that can be used is the problem-based learning (PBL) model for analyzing biography texts. The objectives of this study are: 1) to determine the effectiveness of the PBL model in teaching biography texts to class X students at SMKN 1 Kapetakan in the 2022/2023 academic year, and 2) to describe the learning activities of biographical texts using the PBL model in class X at SMKN 1 Kapetakan in the 2022/2023 academic year. This research follows an experimental method with a quasi-experimental design called the nonequivalent control group design. The data analysis shows that the learning process of analyzing biography texts in class X at SMKN 1 Kapetakan in the 2022/2023 academic year has improved after using the problem-based learning model. This is supported by the results of the initial and final tests, which were analyzed using the independent sample t-test. The t-count value is 0.3887, while the t-table value is 0.2024. Therefore, t-count (0.3887) > t-table (0.2024). Furthermore, the observation results indicate that the problem-based learning model enhances student engagement in the learning process of analyzing biography texts for class X students at SMKN 1 Kapetakan in the 2022/2023 academic year.

Analysis of Pancasila Learner Profile Values in Indonesian Language Learning Book Texts

This research aims to analyze the value content of the Pancasila student profile in the Indonesian language textbook for the Merdeka curriculum for class X, Puskurbuk Kemendikbudristek edition. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method with content analysis. The research results, researchers found that the values ​​of the Pancasila student profile are found in introductory texts in books such as: 1) faith, devotion to God Almighty and noble morals, 2) critical thinking, 3) global diversity, 4) creativity , 5) mutual cooperation, and 6) independence. The value of each of these things is explained in various texts, including saga texts, anecdote texts, biographical texts and poetry texts. Learning activities carried out in the Merdeka Curriculum Indonesian Language Textbook for class X students will help students understand these values ​​and apply them in everyday life. This study provides a detailed and complete explanation of the contents of the profile of students' Pancasila values ​​in the texts contained in the book, so that it will help students improve their understanding and application of these values.
