TWO NOVEL BAND-NOTCHED UWB SLOT ANTENNAS FED BY MICROSTRIP LINE

Two kinds of band-notched ultra wide-band slot antennas are proposed. Printed on a dielectric substrate of FR4with relative permittivity of 4.4 and fed by a 50 Ω microstrip line, the proposed antennas introduce semicircular annular strips to reject the frequency band (5.15-5.85 GHz) limited by IEEE802.11a. The parameters which affect the performance of the antennas in terms of its frequency domain characteristics are investigated in this paper.

Printed band-notched ultra-wideband quasi-dipole antenna

A printed ultra-wideband (UWB, 3.1–10.6 GHz) quasi-dipole antenna with the band-notched characteristic is presented. The antenna mainly comprises two radiating elements: an upper semi-circular disk and a lower semi-circular disk embedded with a pair of narrow slits, whose length is about one quarter-wavelength at the desired notched frequency. Both the upper and lower semi-circular disks are of the same dimensions, thus making the proposed antenna tend to be a dipole structure. With a compact size of 25 × 25 mm2, the proposed antenna showing UWB operation with a notched frequency band at 5 GHz is demonstrated. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A Band-Notched Ultrawideband Printed Monopole Antenna

In this letter, a band-notched ultrawideband (UWB) antenna is presented and the notched-band characteristic is realized by a compact coplanar waveguide (CPW) resonant cell (CCRC). The antenna with a total size of 46 mm $,times,$30 mm operates in a band from 2.67 to over 12 GHz, and shows omnidirectional radiation patterns. Measurements indicate that the antenna presents a notched band from 5.10 to 5.94 GHz for $ VSWR ge 3:1$, which covers the wireless local area network (WLAN) band. The time-domain behaviors and the CCRC are discussed and the group delay is given experimentally. Also, parametric studies are performed numerically in the end.
