Smartphones are technological devices that have a myriad of functions in human life today and youth is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood. As the times progress, we are now entering the era of the industrial revolution Society 5.0, in which in this era people can solve various social challenges and problems by utilizing various kinds of innovations that carry the concept that all technology is part of the human being himself. All human needs can be obtained in one hand, namely in the form of a smartphone. Behind the convenience of life offered in the Society 5.0 era, there is a problem that is already stalking us, namely Nomophobia. People who experience Nomophobia in their lives tend to depend on smartphones and cannot be far from smartphones, this is very bad if it has an impact on teenagers, because it can interfere with development in adolescents, especially in their psychological development. The purpose of this research is to raise awareness in adolescents about the bad effects of smartphones and to overcome this Nomophobia problem. This research is a type of literature research with content analysis techniques (Content Analysis). Examples of the impact of Nomophobia include: (1) Lack of focus in daily life, (2) Decreased sense of empathy & sympathy for the surrounding environment, (3) Emotions that tend to be unstable. Prevention of Nomophobia can be done by: (1) Increasing physical activity in adolescents such as exercising or participating in organizational activities that are beneficial to them, (2) Carrying out strict supervision on the use of smartphones in their daily lives. (3) Provide restrictions on the use of smartphones in adolescents. So then it can be concluded that in this era humans will be very dependent on technology in living their lives, so prevention is needed from the start and the hope of this research is that in the future the level of smartphone dependence, especially in adolescents, can begin to decrease.
