The purpose of the study is to reveal the features of the plot interpretation by the playwright T. Minnullin of individual destinies of creative people in the drama "Galiyabanu – My Beloved". In the play, the author managed to show the "conflict of generations" not in the generally accepted everyday plan, but in the stage and professional one, namely in three planes of the fate of theater artists (the stage play of the younger generation of actors, theatrical history and the personal life of actors of the older generation). Special attention is paid to the role of the visual media used in revealing the world of art people and their images, as well as expressing the author's position. The scientific novelty consists in revealing the intertwining of the artist's personal fate with the life of society, the need to serve a great purpose and the emotional vulnerability of a man of art in T. Minnullin's play. Their personal life (unhappy love, loneliness) and the moral and philosophical problems of our time (contradictions between two generations, transformation of moral values, lack of public attention, etc.) are evaluated in this plane. As a result of the research, it was determined: firstly, for the comprehensive disclosure of the images of people of art, the playwright T. Minnullin refers to the widely known classic work "Galiyabanu" by M. Faizi. Secondly, such artistic means as techniques of psychologism and motifs of intertextuality and play contribute to the deep disclosure of the world of people of art, characters of heroes, and thirdly, the difference in world perception and worldview, manifested as usual in the conflict of generations, is represented by the author by the play of artists two generations in the play.

Literary text and historical discourse: A questionnaire study

This article explores historical discourse in a literary text from a fresh perspective through an experiment. We compiled the experiment’s questions in a Google Form, drawing inspiration from Askar Altai’s "The Hunchbak." The main emphasis in formulating the questions was placed on the category of historical figures in historical discourse. 23 students of Karaganda Buketov University, aged 19-22, voluntarily took part in our experiment. We chose a descriptive method for data analysis in the study. Using this method, three levels of reader perception (simple, medium, and high) are fully analyzed. As a result of the research, it was found that the vast majority of the survey participants fully understood the text of the literary work, thought about the subtext (indirect meaning) in it, analyzed the text from the point of view of their own knowledge, analyzed the author's position, and tried to express their thoughts. This indicates that the reader’s perceived level of comprehension is moderate. At the same time, the study showed that in the minds of the youth of the postcolonial country there are still some manifestations of ‘colonialism’; it is concluded that for the full recovery of a postcolonial country from ‘colonial diseases’, the full revival of historical consciousness, school programs and textbooks should be revised in Kazakhstan, and colleges and universities should have a systematic, fundamental state program for a long period (25 years).

Global Stem Cell Research in Orthopaedics: A Bibliometric Study from 1995 to 2020.

The research field of stem cell-based therapies in orthopaedics has witnessed significant growth in the recent past. We aimed to identify and analyze the bibliometric characteristics of the global highly cited papers (HCPs) in stem cell research in orthopaedics. This study relied on secondary data extracted from Scopus, Elsevier's abstract and citation database. An advanced search string was employed, for the period from 1995 to 2020. For each paper, the extracted information included the number of citations, title, authors (name, number, authorship position, and country), year of publication, title of the journals, study design, and thematic field. The VOSviewer (1.6.20) was used to uncover relationships between authors, institutions, keywords, and publications. There were a total of 1427 publications and out of these 186 papers had 100 or more citations (range 100-2644) and were considered as HCPs. The average citation per paper (CPP) was 265.8. Only 4% of the top HCPs contributed 20% of the total citations of all HCPs. All the HCPs were published from high-income countries, and the USA was the leading country in all aspects of publication on stem cell research. Méndez-Ferrer S registered the highest citation (n = 2644), Prockop DJ was the most prolific author (n = 8 papers), and Harvard Medical School, USA emerged as the most prolific organization with 12 HCPs. Global research in stem cell therapies for orthopaedic problems is making strides, and is an emerging field of research. Stem cell research offers the potential for improved treatment outcomes for various musculoskeletal conditions. Geodiversity of research: geographical topic focus, author location, and collaboration. A case study of SDG 2: zero hunger

This bibliometric study examined three aspects of geodiversity of research, namely the geographical topic focus of the study, author location, and international collaboration dynamics. The publication dataset comprised 60,000 papers from the Dimensions database that have been associated with hunger research using Digital Science’s machine learning algorithm that enhances expert led search strategies. As the research was related to hunger, papers were mapped on to the Global Hunger Index country categories as convenient classification. Only 41% of hunger-related publications that focus on countries most affected by hunger feature authors affiliated to institutions in those countries. Even fewer of those publications feature locally based authors in first or last position. These numbers gradually reverse as the level of hunger declines. We analyse sample papers in an attempt to understand the reasons for these trends. These included differences in research infrastructure, sub-authorship recognition such as acknowledgements, and limitations of the relationship between country mention and real topical focus. We did not find evidence of widespread differences between senior and overall authorship and consequently urge caution before judging international collaborations as ‘helicopter’ research based only on author country affiliations and authorship position.

Emerging leaders or persistent gaps? Generative AI research may foster women in STEM

The primary aim of this study is to explore the gender dynamics within Generative AI (GAI) research through an analysis of 5092 publications post the inception of ChatGPT in November 2022. This investigation seeks to comprehend how gender distribution varies across different research areas and geographical locations in GAI, assess thematic differences in contributions by male and female authors, identify areas of significant female activity, evaluate the impact of policies on gender dynamics, devise strategies to enhance gender diversity and explore how GAI research can propel women's advancement in STEM. The study reveals a dual narrative: a promising rise in female leadership within highly cited GAI research papers, juxtaposed with ongoing gender disparities in single-authored works and primary authorship positions. These findings underscore the unique position of GAI as distinct from traditional STEM fields, owing to its integration of technology with societal demands and its potential to foster increased female participation in STEM through its interdisciplinary approach and societal impact. By aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 5, this research champions inclusive development practices and policy reforms aimed at bolstering gender diversity and inclusivity within GAI research. The insights derived from addressing the research questions show how GAI can make STEM fields more inclusive, diverse, and attuned to societal needs, thereby maximizing the value of female researchers' contributions.

Localization of innovative technologies of industrial production as a tool for intensification of import substitution policy

The main criterion for the successful implementation of import substitution policy is the location of domestic production on the domestic territory of the state, in order to reduce the negative economic consequences of the industrial policies of unfriendly countries, with the orientation of domestic industrial enterprises towards their own intensification of production, including the production of analogous products to imported ones, for subsequent replacement of imported technologies with domestic ones and supply of domestic products to the domestic market – production and sale of own products. Localization of production is the placement of manufacturing or component industrial production facilities on its own, separate, local territory, in order to reduce the cost of products and bring them closer to assembly sites or sales markets. The term «localization of production», in the scientific literature, is represented by a special case of territorial organization (localized enterprises in separate territories) of production processes for the creation of material wealth, which has a number of features: in the organization of production, a company with a higher level of technological development forms the “conditions of the game”, organizing the distribution of production of certain products among all participants; localization is often carried out on the territory of another state, which has a lower level of development of technology and technology and a higher demand for final products in the markets of this state; An additional benefit of localization is the optimization of process logistics, bringing it closer to consumers. The goal of localization is to reduce production, transaction and logistics costs and increase the level of investment. The article presents the author's position on the development of intensification of the processes of industrial import substitution, in modern conditions, the main idea of which is the creation of localized production, a full technological cycle in the activities of Russian industrial enterprises, representing: at the initial stage, a full line of production of components and import substitution of missing parts, to meet demand in the domestic market, and in the future, the development of processes of substitution of imported technologies, the formation and use of advanced development technologies, increasing export potential and strengthening their presence of Russian industry in world markets. The work explores the essence of localization of production, which is determined by the production of parts and components manufactured in Russia, at national production facilities, using its own technologies, in order to increase the intensity of import substitution processes.

<p style="text-align: justify;">The reviewed book presents a philosophical view on a number of social and socio-psychological problems of the modern era, a significant part of which is analyzed through the prism of subjective human experiences, including destructive ones. Depression, emotional burnout, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, which are widespread today, are, according to the author's position, the natural consequences of an increasing social trend – the imperative of individual achievements characteristic of a society that expects each of its members to comply with the requirements of multitasking and constant acceleration. Such a society naturally replaces open violence against a person with the practice of self–exploitation, and its value guideline is "positivity" (orientation to all positive things), leading to the denial of real social diversity, and eventually to social atomization. The author sees a constructive way out for a person of the "fatigue society" in the need for non-action and conscious contemplation, which immanently imply openness to the world.</p>

Dear Chief Editor, It is with great privilege that I pen these words to you, addressing the esteemed journal of our institution, the Annals of PMC. In this communication, I wish to highlight a significant and pressing concern within the realm of scientific journals today — the matter of "Paper Mills." Paper mills refer to organizations that engage in unethical practices related to scientific publishing, such as selling fake scientific manuscripts or offering authorship positions for a fee. These organizations have been identified in various scientific disciplines, and their activities include plagiarism, data fabrication, redundant publications, and copyright breaches. The prevalence of paper mills has led to the retraction of numerous publications, with over 1000 papers identified as originating from paper mills since January 2020. These papers are often associated with fraudulent practices and are typically retracted or labeled with expressions of concern. The International Association of Scientific, Technical, and Medical Publishers has launched a tool to detect papers generated by paper mills, aiming to tackle research fraud. The increasing frequency of retracted papers originating from paper mills poses a challenge for the research community, highlighting the need for new mechanisms to identify and prevent this type of misconduct. Professionals may opt for paper mills for various reasons. One reason is the pressure to publish to achieve academic success, which has led to unethical practices in academia, including the use of paper mills to buy authorship positions or obtain fake scientific manuscripts. Another reason could be the convenience and cost-effectiveness of using paper mills to have work published in reputable journals without going through the rigorous peer review process. Additionally, some professionals may turn to paper mills due to the desire for mass production of papers with a consistent intaglio pattern or to meet specific industry standards. It is important for editors of academic journals to be aware of the potential targeting by paper mills and implement editorial procedures to counteract these fraudulent practices. In my view, paper mills are hazardous for research, unethical, and should be discouraged, as they may promote fake data and may cause defamation of the journal as well as publishing authority and professionals. Therefore, I wish to caution you to be vigilant against such misconduct, as it could jeopardize the reputation of both the journal and the institution. Corruption criminal offences: concept and classification

The article highlights modern scientific approaches to the definition of the concept and classification of corruption criminal offences, as well as their general characteristics. The emphasis is placed on the unresolved issue of distinguishing between the signs of corruption and the signs of a corruption offence. The original author's position is expressed that corruption offences are endowed with corruption features which allow distinguishing them from other criminal offences and subjecting them to grouping. The position that corruption criminal offences are characterised by the general features of all criminal offences provided for by the Criminal Code of Ukraine without exception has been supported, along with which specific features should be distinguished, i.e. those which characterise only the category of corruption criminal offences. In particular, they include: abuse of office; presence of a mandatory object – an unlawful benefit; special subject, which is an official of public or private law, regardless of the legal form and form of ownership, as well as a person providing public services; presence of only a deliberate form of guilt, namely direct intent; special purpose of committing a socially dangerous act. Corruption criminal offences are also classified on the basis of the generic object of the criminal offence: corruption criminal offences against property, in the field of economic activity, against public security, in the field of trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors, against the authority of state authorities, local self-government bodies and associations of citizens, in the field of official activity and professional activity related to the provision of public services, against the established procedure for military service.
 It has been concluded that despite the absence of a statutory definition of the concept of corruption criminal offences in the current legislation of Ukraine, the criminal law doctrine is quite successful in filling this gap. At present, the definition of this concept, the list of both general criminal and special features have been formulated, and a fairly detailed classification of these features has been provided. In this regard, the emphasis is placed on the prospects for further research, in particular, in terms of investigation of corruption criminal offences, and establishment of the specifics of application of measures to ensure criminal proceedings in criminal proceedings under this category of criminal offences.

The poetry of cold in Yakut prose of the early twentieth century: cold as the border of the Yakut world

In recent years, an active appeal to the discourse of cold as a scientific problem has been observed in science, which is partly due to some extent to the transformation of the worldview of modern man, partly to the awareness of the fragility of the world balance in a globalising space. At the same time, the lack of development of the methodology, which consists in the absence of a conceptual, informational base, separate tools, creates difficulties in implementation this problem. In this regard, the topic presented in this article undoubtedly has great scientific potential and novelty in the context of the problem of geo-culture of the North. The purpose of the study is to study the concept of cold in the context of the geo-cultural landscape of Yakutia as a semantic structure, which manifests itself in the constancy of images, universals with cultural, historical, mental community and united in a single artistic system. The author pays special attention to the reception of the concept of cold in the aspect of binary positions of one's own and another's, where one's own is represented by an associative series of native, close, bright, safe, and participates in the formation of unique characteristics of the national world. The main attention is paid to the initial properties of cold, which form the borders of the Yakut world and participating in the design of a specific mental picture of Sakha, which is quite clearly reflected in the images of the initiating heroes of P.A. Oyunsky. In addition, the subject of the study is also the specifics of cold and its role in the actualisation of the unique geo-cultural quality of the city of Yakutsk as the coldest, most distant city, “the city on the edge”. The methods used in the article were systemic, structural research methods. Results. The study of this concept in the literary aspect helps to identify the peculiarities of the individual style, the author's position, and the peculiarities of constructing a national picture of the world.

Fictional worlds of fantasy and "magical" prose as a space for generating supertext

In this paper, the author addresses the features of the supertexts based on the modern Russian novels, namely postmodern works, the genre of which can be defined as fantasy. One of the areas of research is the interpretation of the author's myth, as well as understanding the role of myth in literature. The subject of the study is an end-to-end code that unites the prosaic macrocycles of modern authors as a supertext unity. The object of the study is the macrotext as a format of a literary work in the literature of modern Russian writers. The authors consider in detail such aspects of the topic as the cross-cutting theme of an alien / adopted / unrecognized / illegitimate child and its connection with the genus and family, and the implementation of this theme in novels combined into trilogies or macrocycles. Both general scientific research methods and specialized philological ones were used in the article, namely: the method of qualitative content analysis and the narrative method, the methods of idealization and deduction are secondary methods of working with the material. The leading method was the interpretation of literary texts, which were the source of the parktic research material. The main function of the myth is to reflect a certain image of reality, being an add-on above it, containing specific semantic models and roles distributed among the characters, and also an expression of the author's position. The author's myth can be described as a playful, mosaic, inverse construct. The conclusions presented in the article can be used in further analysis of the work of modern writers, as well as when working with the concept of "author's myth" and studying the transformation of myth (both archaic and social, cultural, etc.) in modern postmodern literature. A special contribution of the authors to the research of the topic is the consideration of this motif in its diversified interpretation in various works and the connection of this motif with the onomastic code of works as one of the principles of the formation of a supertext.

The aim of the research is to identify the specificity of literary interpretation of the category of memory as a component of the ideological-artistic system in the epic prose of the Balkar writer A. Teppeev. The novels of the writer ("Heavy Millstones," "Will," "Syrat Bridge") are examined in terms of the functioning of the motif of memory in them. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that through the analysis of these works, methods of embodying the stated problem are revealed: creating the images of storytellers as keepers of folk memory, representing the ethno-cultural concept of stone filled with symbolic content, incorporating folklore reminiscences into the narrative, and actualizing national origins. The research notes the significant role of ethno-cultural and oral poetic traditions in the development of spiritual continuity. It defines the conceptual significance of memory (historical, ancestral, spiritual) in shaping the artistic worldview and expressing the author's position. It is emphasized that in the context of narration, memory is interpreted as one of the key factors in preserving national identity in the history of the people.

A Systematic Review of Gender Disparity in the Authorship of Clinical Trials and Clinical Practice Guidelines in Various Medicine Subspecialties.

Authorship in clinical trials and clinical practice guidelines is considered prestigious and is associated with broader peer recognition. This systematic review investigated female representation among studies reporting authorship trends in clinical trialsor clinical practice guidelinesin different medicine subspecialties. Our search strategy yielded 836 articles, of which 30 met the inclusion criteria. Our findings indicate that females are severely underrepresented in authorship of clinical trials and clinical practice guidelines. Although the proportions of females may have improved in the past decade, the gains are marginal. Notably, studies in this domain predominantly focus on first/last authorship positions, and whether females are underrepresented in other positions as collaborative partners is currently unknown. Also, authorship trends in clinical trials or clinical practice guidelines of most medicine subspecialties besides cardiovascular medicine remain under-researched. Hence, standardizing the methodology for studying gender disparity in research output for comparative analysis between different subspecialties is as urgent as addressing the gender disparity in authorship.

Gender distribution in publishing in five leading optometry journals.

To explore gender distribution in authorship and citation parameters of articles published in five optometry journals included in the Ophthalmology category of Journal Citation Reports. The Scopus database was used to retrieve all citable articles published in 2011 and 2021 in Optometry and Vision Science, Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics, Clinical Experimental Optometry, Contact Lens and Anterior Eye, and Eye and Contact Lens. Gender of the first, last and single authors of all articles, and citation parameters of articles published in 2011 up to May 2023 were determined. Gender of the editor-in-chief and members of the editorial board of these journals was investigated (May 2023). Only one journal had a female editor-in-chief and three journals had more males than females in their editorial board. In 2011 and 2021, respectively, 40.1% and 48.0% of articles had female as the first authors ( = 5.77; p = 0.02), and 32.7% and 39.6% had female as the last authors ( = 4.61; p = 0.03). Gender parity was observed in one journal for the first author and none for the last author in 2011, and in three journals for the first author and one for the last author in 2021. Regarding combinations of male (M) and female (F) first and last authorship positions, the authors of articles in 2011 were MM (44.5%), FM (22.8%), FF (17.3%) and MF (15.4%), and MM (34.6%), FM (25.8%), FF (22.1%) and MF (17.5%) in 2021. Differences between 2011 and 2021 were statistically significant ( = 9.80; p = 0.02). The proportion of authorship combinations did not show statistically significant differences among journals in 2011 or in 2021. Neither citation nor self-citation were influenced by gender. Gender disparities persist in optometry journals, with females being under-represented in senior and leadership positions. Increasing the awareness of gender disparity in authorship is a necessary step towards ensuring fairness in science in general, and optometry in particular.

The article reveals theoretical and practical issues of correlation between the principle of social protection of employees of internal affairs bodies and the basic principles of construction and functioning of the system of public service; the author's position on this problem and the provisions that can be put in the basis of further scientific research aimed at improving the normative-legal regulation in the field of social and le-gal protection of employees of internal affairs bodies and actually on the organisation of work on its practical and legal protection of employees of internal affairs bodies.

Trends in female authorship in Acta Anaesthesiologica Belgica from 2005 to 2021

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the trend of female representation in publishing in the Acta Anaesthesiologica Belgica (AAB) from 2005 to 2021. In recent years, there has been an increased focus on gender equality and disparity. However, as far as we know, an evaluation of the Belgian literature in this regard has not been undertaken before. Methods: The study’s main objective is on determining the gender of the first author, with the gender of the second and last authorship position being secondary outcomes. Additionally, the study aimed to investigate whether other variables, such as the field in which the article was published, study type, the country of origin (of the first author), the first author’s academic degree, the number of authors, and coauthors’ gender, are related to these outcomes. Results: In total 475 manuscripts were included for data collection, of which 146 (30.7%) had a female first author, 94 (19.8%) had a female second author, and 61 (12.8%) had a female last authorship position. We demonstrated a trend towards greater gender equality in the AAB over time, with more women occupying first and second authorship positions. However, we observed a stagnation in female last authorship positions, with only a small increase of last female authorship of 1.16% reaching 7.41% in 2021. Further analysis showed that female last authorship affected first female authorship. As the number of authors increases, the representation of women (particularly for the last author) diminishes compared to their male colleagues. Lastly, the analysis of gender in relation to the number of coauthors showed that male authors are more likely to publish alone (as a single author) compared to their female colleagues. The AAB predominantly published case reports, observational studies, and narrative reviews, all of which had a higher number of male authors than female authors. The study also uncovered the absence of female first authors in the four systematic reviews published. Conclusion: From 2005 to 2021, the number of female first authors in the AAB has increased, and there has been a small but steady rise in female last authorship position. However, articles published in the AAB still exhibit a lower representation of female first authors. It is crucial to conduct further research and raise attention to gender disparity in anesthetic – and per extension in scientific - literature.

Social and legal conditionality of customs duties evasion criminal liability

The subject of this article is the socio-legal conditionality of establishing liability for criminal evasion of customs and other payments. This article aims to answer the question of the validity of the elevation of the specified illegal act in the field of economic activity to the category of criminally punishable acts by analyzing relevant statistical data, recent legislative changes in the criminal law, studying the author's positions on the expediency of criminal law protection of calculation and collection of customs and other payments, and also taking into account technical transformations in the customs infrastructure. The author used dialectical, systemic, sociological, statistical, comparative legal methods to study the patterns of changes in the field of customs relations and subsequent legislative transformations in criminal legislation, the impact of these legislative decisions on statistical indicators of countering customs crime. As a result of the analysis of current statistical data related to the dynamics of the number of registered crimes, economic harm caused, recent legislative changes in the criminal law sphere, the study of author's positions on the expediency of criminal law protection of public relations related to the calculation and collection of customs and other payments, as well as taking into account information and technical transformations in the customs infrastructure the author concludes that it is advisable to establish a criminal law prohibition on evasion of customs payments, special, anti-dumping and (or) countervailing duties levied on organizations, as well as individuals. The relevance of this article is also due to the fact that over the past almost 10 years there have been no works devoted to the analysis of the socio-legal conditionality of establishing liability for evasion of customs and other payments paid in connection with the movement of goods across the customs border.

A bibliometric analysis of the 100 most-influential papers in the field of anti-diabetic drugs.

Aim: We analyzed the 100 most-cited articles on all anti-diabetic drugs. A comprehensive literature review found no bibliometrics on this. Methods: Two researchers independently extracted articles from Scopus and ranked them by citation count as the 'top 100 most-cited'. Results: The median number of citations is 1385.5. Most articles are from the USA (n=59). Insulin has the most papers (n=24). Majority (n=76) were privately funded and contained at least one conflict of interest (n=66). The New England Journal of Medicine has the most publications (n=44). Male authors made majority of both first and last authorship positions. Conclusion: This study aims to aid in directing future research and in reducing biases.

History of Vietnam “in english”

The review examines the book “A Brief History of Vietnam” by Bill Hayton, a famous British researcher of the problems of Southeast and East Asia. Despite the brevity of the presentation, the author presented quite fully the historical path of the Vietnamese nation from the period of ethnogenesis to the present day. The author's position, which distinguishes him from many Western colleagues, is that he strives to show the history of the Vietnamese nation not as a continuous history of wars with its northern neighbor. It is characteristic that most of the author’s provisions coincide with the point of view of Russian scientists.
